Briefly about the events of the previous season
The action takes place in a world where humanity is divided into four nations. Some people are able to control the magic of Fire, Water, Air or Earth - the elements belonging to their people. The story focuses on a boy, Aang, from a tribe of air nomads, who at the age of 11 learned that he was the Avatar - a person capable of conquering all four elements.
At that time, the Fire Nation started a war, wanting to enslave the remaining tribes, and young Aang, in accordance with his destiny, had to stop the Fire Lord. The boy was frightened by his new responsibilities and tried to escape, but while flying over the ocean, he and his flying bison, Appa, were caught in a storm and fell into the water. Entering the Avatar State, Aang encased himself and his pet in an iceberg in order to survive.
The war lasted for a hundred years; All this time, the main character was in suspended animation in ice, until he was accidentally found by Katara and Sokka, brother and sister from the Southern Water Tribe. Aang revealed his true identity and purpose to them, and then accepted his fate and set out with new friends to conquer the elements. A serious problem for the heroes is the exiled Prince Zuko, the son of the current Fire Lord Ozai, who intends to capture the Avatar and thereby regain his honor and dignity. The guy's rival in capturing Aang is Admiral Zhao, an ambitious military officer of the Fire Nation.
The first season ended with a grandiose battle between the Northern Water Tribe and the troops of the Fire Nation, during which Admiral Zhao kills the Moon Spirit who has taken physical embodiment in order to deprive the Water Mages of their powers. Then Aang, having entered the Avatar State, merges with the Spirit of the Ocean and destroys all the Fire warriors, and Prince Zuko fights with Zhao and defeats him.
Aang's personality is actually lost in the merger, because the Ocean Spirit is furious that he has lost his partner. To save him, Princess Yui of the Northern Tribe sacrifices her life, which was given to her by the Moon Spirit, to restore balance to the world. Aang comes to his senses, saddened by his losses, and Katara supports him and does not allow him to lose heart. According to the further plan, the protagonist will first master the magic of Water, and then go to Omashu to comprehend the element of Earth.
Meanwhile, it turns out that such a brutal attack, which resulted in many casualties, was just a diversionary maneuver, and the Fire Nation did not intend to conquer the North. Their true target was the Earth Kingdom, and Zuko's younger sister, Azula, had already captured King Boom, ruler of Omashu. Now the fiery people intend to conquer the city of Ba Sing Se.

The series has strayed far from the emotional and laugh-out-loud moments, so it wasn't particularly well-received. Much of what shouldn't have been shoveled into the first episode wasn't a hit. The animated series gave us a small glimpse into Aang's past, which was interesting to watch. Aang gets a lot of hate, and I understand why. The plot of how he ran away was also distorted. And I was very pleased that Sokka in the cartoon was funny and delighted with ridiculous jokes and moments. That made it pleasant to watch after a stressful day. In season 1, he was great. Let him keep up the good work. The acting skills of everyone in the series were top notch.
