Walkthrough of the Hellmouth quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

After descending into the mine, Henry loses consciousness and finds himself without his belongings, but discovers many traces associated with the knight Taras Mura, who guards the "hell's mouth". In the finale, you can either help the locals or take the side of the knight, which will open up different endings and consequences for the entire village.

Prepare an offering to the spirits of hell in the adit

Ride west until you find a hut in the middle of a pit, and look down the ramp to the right. Go down the stairs into the Hellmouth, where a cutscene will trigger. Henry will notice a strange knight in bloody armor accepting offerings, fall into the shaft, and pass out.

Study the altar

When you wake up in the middle of the mine without any items, the first thing you should do is look around and learn all the information you can about the knight who attacked Henry. Follow the water forward to the illuminated passage, turn right and continue on your way.

Pick up the torch from the barrel, you can inspect the basket on the right and collect a couple of weaklings saving schnapps. Move further along the corridor, keeping to the left side, and you will reach the improvised altar and Taras Mura's sleeping place.

Examine the table where you will find a hunting cleaver and the second notes of the knight. Read the parchment and learn that this knight guards the pit of hell. In the basket by the bed lies the only master key - use it to open the medium lock on the red chest and the complex one on the chest.

If your thievery level is too low and you can't open the boxes, you can cheat and use cheat codesto get the Cat's Paws potion.

In the chest you will find a reinforced club, a weak infusion of calendula, 16 groschen and gal ink, but all these items are not so important for completing the quest. Take it out of the chest knight's contract and another 276 groschen. Thanks to the parchment, Henry will find out that the appointed knight can only be replaced by another person who will come to serve in the mines of his own free will.

The Knight's Key is kept by Mura himself. If you can't open the chest with the chest by any means, you can try to stun Taras and steal the key.

Get your things back

After you've finished examining Taras's room, continue down the dark corridor. You'll notice a bloody knight above - listen to his lines and follow him up when Mura disappears from view. Before that, you can pick up the working axe stuck in the table behind the stairs.

On the next level of the mine, move forward until you meet Taras again. With the information you received from the note and the contract, you can either go out to him and negotiate peacefully, or continue through stealth and hide in the shadows.

If you decide to continue through the tunnels without disturbing the strange knight, turn right at the fork and then right again to hide from Taras. Mura will go to the cart, look around and leave the underground intersection.

Leave the shelter and move straight ahead - into an unexplored corridor. Cross the bridge and reach a new fork inside a wooden tunnel. If you turn left, you can examine a crypt, bones and a pile of dead soldiers. Then return to the main road and continue moving straight to the illuminated place, ignoring the stairs.

Get your personal items from the chest, you won't need a lockpick to open it. You'll also find a the first notes of the knight, indicating that Mura has been here alone for quite some time.

Next, you will have to make a choice that will affect the ending of the story and the rewards. You can secretly leave the mine without crossing paths with Taras, or go to him - fight or talk.

Face the mysterious knight

To get the best ending, you can ignore this point and get out of the dungeon immediately up the stairs on the left. Living Taras will climb up to the people on his own, and you can move on to negotiations.

With your back to the place where you picked up your things, choose the path on the right. Go deeper into the tunnel until you meet a knight.

All that remains is to run after Mur and start the conversation in time using the button "Q". If you hesitate, the pit guardian will attack Henry, mistaking him for a demon from the underworld. The best choices for raising reputation and completing the quest peacefully:

  • (Say the words from the knight's contract).
  • Yes, I am your shift (Lie).

You can try your luck and fight Taras to the death. However, he is a very strong opponent who can put the main character down in a couple of hits. Therefore, the best choice is to talk or not to contact the knight at all and secretly leave the hellish place.

You can take the "Speech-Taker" potion in advance to increase your eloquence, since Henry will have to conduct another negotiation later.

Get out of the mine

Together with the guard, go outside as part of the story cut-scene, other villagers have already gathered around the mouth, including Vladimir and Father Maryan. In the next dialogue, Henry can settle the conflict that has arisen and resolve everything peacefully, or take one of the sides. For the best ending, it is worth protecting both Taras and the villagers:

  • This agreement explains everything.
  • Everyone made mistakes, but no one wished harm, despite the high level of eloquence.
  • Let the Lord judge! - with a high level of charm.

The knight served faithfully until the superstitious villagers stopped bringing him offerings, causing Taras to lose his temper and kill the cows. The conflict arose from misunderstandings and the silence of Mr. Rysek, but no one should suffer from this.

Help the locals or Taras

If it was not possible to resolve the conflict through negotiations or the option of a duel was chosen, Henry will have to protect the villagers or the knight:

  • I am on the side of Stara Kutna, - Together with other men, defeat the guard of the underworld and talk to Father Maryan to collect the rewards.
  • I'm on Taras's side, - automatic quest failure, you will have to kill all the inhabitants together with the knight. As a reward in this case you will be able to collect only trophies from dead bodies.

Rewards

During the final stages of the quest, Henry can make several different choices that will affect the ending of the story and the rewards:

  • 475 groschen - solve the problem with the hell pit forever, settle the conflict between the residents and the bloody knight peacefully.
  • 225 groschen - defeat the knight in the adit or by going outside, taking the side of the villagers.
  • 0 groschen - take Taras' side and kill all the inhabitants.

The only side quest in KCD2 that was on par with The Witcher 3. And of course, the side quests in KCD2 are the most sophisticated.

By the way, if you help Taras, an expensive cross falls from the monk's body, and then the merchants easily get a penny for 600)))

The "Examine the Altar" option. You write "turn right," but the arrow in the picture points left. So, the torch is to the left, and the letter "Rychar's Note 3" is to the right.

Moreover, the writers didn’t even bother to correct this; apparently, it’s beneath their dignity.
