In Genshin impact Academia's Scribe Alhaitham takes the role of the main 5⭐ Dendro damage dealer who wields a one-handed sword. Due to the mixed scaling off Elemental Mastery and ATK, he is best played in Quicken and Hyperbloom, synergizing well with Hydro and Electro elemental partners.
Playing him can cause some difficulties due to the special mechanics of mirrors, which requires timely accumulation of stacks and their spending. All this forces you to carefully follow the rotation in order to achieve maximum damage. Nevertheless, he is rightfully considered one of the strongest main DDs of his element, and easily justifies the investment.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Now as we understand the principle of how skills and talents work and how to build Alhaitham, we can highlight his strengths and weaknesses.
| Strengths | Weaknesses |
| He is able to infuse his weapon with Dendro using his elemental skill, which in turn allows him to maintain elemental status on his enemies. | It is not very effective in teams with the elements Cryo, Geo and Anemo, since Dendro does not interact with them. However, if these are supports that give buffs or shields (Zhongli, Kazuha), they will still be useful, even though there will be no reaction. |
| Effective against both single targets and groups of enemies. For the first case, he can use his normal/charged attacks, for the second - his ult with multiple area damage. | Difficulty in balancing stats, since the hero requires a lot of elemental mastery, as well as crits, ATK and energy regeneration due to the relatively expensive ult (not critical when playing through Blooming). |
| A great Dendro reactor that interacts with Electro, Hydro and Pyro to trigger reactions. | The mechanics with mirrors require strict rotation to deal maximum DPS. |
| Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst damage increases depending on EM of Alhaitham at the expense of the third passive talent Mysteries Laid Bare. | There is no break resistance, which can cause combos to break easily and therefore a significant loss of DPS. For this reason, it is desirable to have a shielder in the team. |
| With Ascension, Dendro damage increases, increasing the combined damage of abilities and normal attacks filled with infusion. | |
| With the help of the elemental skill dash, he can quickly move around the world and the battlefield, as well as dodge enemy attacks. | |
| Helps create additional items when converting ascension materials. | |
| High base HP (health) and defense make the character less vulnerable and resistant to incoming damage. |
The Best Al-Haytham Builds in Genshin Impact
Alhaitham has a Dendro damage dealer/reactor build that focuses on dealing DPS with his normal and charged attacks filled with Dendro Infusion. Alternatively, the hero is also capable of playing off his abilities as an ult user.
Recommended Stats
One way or another, with any build it is important to have EM, which not only affects the damage of all skills, but also the DPS when triggering reactions. In addition, his important stats, as for any DD, are crits and ATK - In addition to EM, the damage of Alhaitham's skills is also scaled with ATK. Despite the rather expensive ult (70 energy), it is better not to focus on energy recharge. This stat can be offset either with a battery (a second Dendro) or with other means such as Favonius weapons or support talents/skills.
Separately, it is worth highlighting the gameplay through Bloom. Since this is a 2nd order reaction, only EM affects DPS, other stats (crit, attack power) do not matter in this case. But you don't have them at all, the Scribe of Sumeru Akademiya becomes less flexible in relation to other builds.
It is important for the hero to find a golden mean between elemental mastery and other characteristics in order to maximize the potential as the main damage dealer.
Stats that are recommended to look for in artifacts:
| Artifact | Main characteristic | Additional stats |
|---|---|---|
Flower of Life | HP (fixed) | Elemental Mastery ATK % CRIT DMG Crit Rate |
Plume of Death | Attack Power (fixed) | Elemental Mastery ATK % CRIT DMG Crit Rate |
Sands of Eon | Elemental Mastery / Attack Power % | Energy Recharge % ATK % CRIT DMG Crit Rate |
Goblet of Eonothem | Dendro Damage Bonus % | Elemental Mastery ATK % CRIT DMG Crit Rate |
Circlet of Logos | CRIT damage / CRIT Rate | CRIT damage / CRIT Rate Elemental Mastery ATK % Energy Recharge % |
Optimal stat values:
- ATK: 1600-1700 and more.
- Crit Rate and Crit Damage: ratio 1:2 (60 rate and 120 dmg) and more.
- Elemental Mastery: 400-450.
- Energy recharge: 140-150% (without second Dendro), 120-130% (with Dendro).
Optimal weapons
The weapon must have the following characteristics depending on the team he plays in:
- For playing with Blooming (Hyperbloom, Burgeon) the sword's main stats and passive require Elemental Mastery and Elemental Damage Bonus.
- For Quicken (Spread) , you will need Crit Damage/Crit Chance, ATK, Elemental Mastery, and Elemental Damage Bonus.
Additionally, in both cases, swords with energy regeneration can be used. This is especially effective if the hero contributes the main DPS with the ult, not with normal attacks, and there are no additional sources of energy regeneration in the squad.
If you stick to a hybrid build, you can use any weapons. In this case, it is necessary to maintain a balance - for example, provided that you managed to find a lot of ATK in artifacts, it makes sense to choose a weapon for elemental mastery, and so on. Undoubtedly, the best and most versatile option will be the signature weapon of Alhaitham - Light of Foliar Incision.

Weapons for a Quicken Alhaitham
For dealing more DPS with normal attacks and when interacting with Electro, the following swords are suitable:
| Name | Description | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base stat: 44-542 Critical Damage 19,2%-88,2% | Critical hit chance is increased by 4%-8%. Normal Attacks that deal elemental damage grant the effect of Foliar Incision, increasing the damage of normal attacks and elemental skills by 120%-240% of Elemental Mastery no more than once every 12 seconds. After 28 activations or after 12 sec. the effect disappears. | Alhaitham's signature, which fully matches his gameplay and at the same time increases the damage of normal attacks and E depending on the elemental mastery value. Considering that with the rise of the hero, Dendro damage, crit. damage and crit. chance in the weapon stats increase, it is easier to balance the characteristics. |
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base stat: 44-542 Critical Hit Chance 9,6%-44,1% | Increases HP by 20-40% Also grants an attack bonus equal to 1,2-2,4% of max HP of the character equipped with this weapon. | The sword gives a large amount of crit. chance, increases HP and survivability. At the same time, low basic attack is not so significant, since an additional bonus is given depending on the maximum health. |
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base stat: 46-608 Critical Hit Chance 7,2%-33,1% | Grants 12%-24% elemental damage bonus. When nearby heroes use their skills, summons 1 Wavespike. In total, 2 levels are accumulated, you can get them once in 1 seconds. When a character equipped with this sword uses their E, each accumulated wave is spent and increases the damage of normal attacks by 20-40% for 8 sec. | Increases damage from normal attacks and elemental damage, which are the main sources of the character's DPS. However, to get maximum stacks, you may need the help of supports. |
Mistsplitter Reforged⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base stat: 48-674 Critical Damage 9,6%-44,1% | All elemental damage types gain bonus damage 12-24%, as well as the power of Mistsplitter Emblem. At Emblem levels 1/2/3 the character gets 8%-16%/16%-32%/28%-56% bonus to the elemental elemental damage of the hero using the sword. A character gains levels in the following cases:
| High crit damage, increased elemental damage, and a bonus to your own element via stacks. These stacks are fairly easy to get with infusion. |
Uraku Misugiri⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Base stat: 44-542 CRIT DMG: 19.2%-88.2% | Normal attack damage increases by 16%-32%, elemental skill damage by 24%-48%. If the wearer attacks with Geo damage, these effects are increased by an additional 100% for 15 sec. In addition, the equipped character's defense increases by 20%-40%. | Gives a lot of crit. damage and increases basic attack and elemental skill damage. However, due to the fact that Alhaitham rarely plays with Geo characters, he will not receive an additional increase, and defense is useless for him. The sword can be given away if it is already on the account, but we do not recommend specially pulling for it. |
Skyward Blade⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base stat: 46-608 Energy recharge 12%-55,1% | Increases crit chance by 4%-8%. Elemental burst awakens the power of the heavens, increasing movement and attack speed by 10%, and normal and charged attacks deal additional damage on hit. 20%-40% damage. All effects last 12 seconds. | Provides a nice bonus to energy recovery, allowing you to easily charge up your ult. At the same time, it slightly increases critical chance and hit speed in the passive effect. |
The Black Sword⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base stat: 42-510 Critical Hit Chance 6%-27,6% | Damage dealt by normal and charged attacks increased by 20%-40%. A critical hit with the same attacks restores an amount of health equal to 60%-100% from attack power. The effect can appear once every 5 seconds. | Provides a critical chance and increases damage of normal and charged attacks. At the same time, it has a built-in HP restoration mechanic, which is great for Dendro, since when the Blooming reaction occurs, the character can receive damage. |
Blackcliff Longsword⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base stat: 44-565 Critical Damage: 8%-36,8% | Killing an enemy will increase attack power by 12%-24% for 30 seconds. The effect stacks up to 3 times. The duration each stack does not depend on the others'. | Without the passive, it's just a high crit sword. damage. Buying it for brilliance specifically for Alhaitham is impractical, but if it is already available, it will be a good option for balancing stats. |
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base stat: 39-401 Critical Damage 10,2%-46,9% | Increases crit chance by 14%-28% at HP level above 90%. | Despite the 3* rarity, at the 5th awakening this is a very strong weapon with a high crit. damage and crit. chance. At the same time, the low base is of little importance for Dendro heroes, since they focus on EM. The only condition is that you need to keep HP above 90%, which means you need shielders or healers in the team. |
![]() ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base stat: 44-565 ATK: 6-27,6% | Increases normal and charged attack damage by 20-40%, as well as the critical hit chance of normal and charged attacks by 8-16%, if the character is protected by a shield. | Although Alhaitham mostly needs EM, in case of crit imbalance and severe crit chance shortage, this weapon can be used. However, for the full buff, a shielder is required in the squad, which can be problematic, since the hero does not play with them that often. |
Sapwood Blade (F2P)⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base stat: 44-565 Energy recharge 6,7%-30,6% | The Burning, Quicken, Aggravate, Spread, Blooming, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon statuses create a Leaf of Consciousness near the character that lasts for 10 seconds. Elemental mastery of the character who picks it up is increased by 60-120 for 12 sec. A Leaf of Consciousness can spawn every 20 sec. This effect triggers even if the equipped character is not on the battlefield. The Leaf of Consciousness effect is not cumulative. | Provides a high bonus to energy recovery and increases EM when Dendro reactions occur. The only problem is that it becomes more difficult to balance the stats, since the sword does not provide crits. |
Weapons for a Blooming Alhaitham
Recommended weapons when playing through the explosion of cores:
| Name | Description | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base stat: 44-542 Critical Damage 19,2%-88,2% | Critical hit chance is increased by 4%-8%. Normal Attacks that deal elemental damage grant the effect of Foliar Incision, increasing the damage of normal attacks and elemental skills by 120%-240% of Elemental Mastery no more than once every 12 seconds. After 28 activations or after 12 sec. the effect disappears. | Although crits are not needed for Blooming, the signature provides additional damage when using normal attacks and elemental skills depending on the amount of EM. This will also be useful for dealing more DPS. |
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base stat: 46-608 Elemental Mastery 43-198 | Millennial Movement increases damage dealt by 10-20%. Triggering an elemental reaction grants the character one Sigil of Remembrance every 0.5 seconds, even if they are not on the battlefield. When the character gets two Sigils, they disappear, granting nearby allies Millennial Movement: Farewell Song for 12 sec., which increases the damage of normal, charged, and plunging attacks by 16-32%, and attack power by 20-40%. After activating the effect, Sigils will not appear for 20 seconds. Millennium Movement does not stack with other effects that affect the same skills. | One of the strongest swords for the position of the driver through the Blooms. This is achieved through increased Elemental Mastery to create more powerful reactions, increased damage from normal and charged attacks, and buffs to the squad. |
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base stat: 42-510 Elemental Mastery 36-165 | On hitting enemies, inflicts a Cursed Parasol effect on one of them for 10 seconds, which occurs every 15 seconds. If an enemy hit by this effect dies before it ends, the cooldown will be refreshed. Damage against enemies affected by Cursed Parasol is increased by 16%-32%. | A free but limited variant with a nice boost to EM and a significant increase in damage. Only works against a single target, making it an ideal sword for fighting bosses or large enemies. |
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base stat: 42-510 Elemental Mastery 36-165 | Every 10 sec. the following effect is triggered: energy recovery of the character equipped with this weapon is increased by 0,036-0,072% for each point of their own Elemental Mastery for 12 sec. Nearby allies gain 30% of this effect. If other members of the squad also have this weapon, its bonus stacks. This effect works even if the character is off-field. | Increases Elemental Mastery and Energy Recovery based on EM. A good balanced option, however this weapon is limited so it's not easy to get. |
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base stat: 42-510 Elemental Mastery 36-165 | Dealing elemental damage increases all damage by 6-12% for 6 seconds. Can stack up to 2 times and occurs once every 1 second. | Similar in basic characteristics to Toukabou Shigure, but in this case the damage to all enemies increases, albeit with a lower percentage. Either way, the weapon can be easily crafted and awakened at any time. |
| Free craftable weapon from Sumeru. Increases energy recovery (primary stat) and EM if you pick up a seed every 20 seconds. Can benefit other party members as well. |
| Significantly increases energy recovery, allowing you to use your ult much more often. In addition, the passive effect allows you to deal additional damage and increases the speed of your attacks. |
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base stat: 42-510 Energy recharge 10%-45,9% | Increases elemental skill damage by 16-32% and his chance of a critical hit on 6-12%. | Event weapon (currently unavailable). Provides a good boost to energy recovery and at the same time increases elemental skill damage, but does not provide any bonuses to EM. |
Artifact Rating
Artifacts for Alhaitham should provide key bonuses and stats for the character, such as Elemental Mastery and Elemental Damage.
| number | Name | Effects | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Deepwood Memories⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 2 Piece: +15% Dendro damage. 4 Piece: Hitting with an elemental skill or elemental burst reduces enemy Dendro resistance by 30% for 8 seconds. The effect works even if the character is not on the battlefield. | The best set of artifacts due to the increase of Dendro damage and the decrease of enemy resistance to this element. Considering that he has his own infusion, this is the most optimal option both in terms of DPS and resin consumption. |
| 2 | Gilded Dreams⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 2 Piece: Elemental Mastery +80 4 Piece: For 8 sec. after trigerring an elemental reaction, the equipping character receives the following buffs, depending on the elements of their team members:
| An alternative set that is farmed in the same dungeon as the Deepwood Memories. Recommended to use if the Dendro damage set is worn by another character in the squad. |
| 3 | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 2 Piece:Elemental Mastery +80 4 Piece: Increases the damage dealt by Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon by 40% on the character equipped with this set. If the wielder triggers these reactions on their own, the effect will increase by another 25%. Each summation lasts 10 seconds. The effect stacks up to 4 times, occurs once every 1 seconds, and activates even if the character is not active. | It depends on the situation, but if the DD plays only in a squad through Blooming and is on the field most of the time, triggering the reaction, this is a completely viable option. |
| 4 | Instructor⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 2 parts+80 EM. 4 Piece: Trigerring an elemental reaction increases EM of the entire party by 120 for 8 sec. | A starter pack that will increase the elemental mastery of both your DPS and the rest of your team. |
Considering that he plays from normal hits, you can use artifacts that give buffs for this type of attack. But in this case, you will have to sacrifice elemental damage and damage from reactions.
| number | Name | The set is | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 2 Piece: Increases attack power by 18%. 4 Piece: Increases normal attack damage by 35% if the character is using one-handed, two-handed or polearms. | The most stable set to increase damage from normal attacks without any additional conditions. |
| 2 | Echoes of an Offering⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 2 Piece: Increases attack power by 18%. 4 Piece: Light attacks have a 36% chance to summon Rite of the Valley, increasing their damage by 70%. Hitting with your next normal attack will remove this effect after 0,5 seconds. In case the bonus was not activated, the chance to summon the Rite of the Valley increases by 20% with the next attack. The chance to activate the bonus can occur no more than 1 time in 0,2 seconds. | A more random set, but the overall damage increase is much greater. It is also important to consider that if the player has a bad connection or ping above 100, Echoes begin to work unstably. |
| 3 | Shimenawa's Reminiscence⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 2 Piece: Increases attack power by 18% 4 Piece: When using an elemental skill on a character with 15 or more energy, 15 energy is removed from them, but damage from normal, charged and plunging attacks is increased by 50% for 10 seconds. | There is no random element, but you have to sacrifice the elemental burst, which also causes considerable damage. The situation will be corrected by the second Dendro hero in the team, replenishing the lost energy. |
| 4 | Martial Artist⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 2 Piece: Damage from normal and charged attacks +15%. 4 Piece: Increases normal and charged attack damage by 25% for 8 seconds. after using an elemental skill. | A great starter set with a bonus to damage for normal and charged attacks. Can be used up to rank 45. |
Separately select a set Emblem of Severed Fatedeserves a separate mention: focusing on energy recovery is not so advisable, especially at the expense of elemental mastery and crits. However, the set can still be used, since the ult is capable of making good DPS and costs 70 energy, which is quite a lot.
Teams
The first thing to consider in Alhaitham's teams are characters that interact with Dendro to create reactions, and then supplement the composition with a second Dendro, if there is not enough energy and EM. At the same time, heroes of other elements can also enter the team if their buffs are useful (for example, bonuses to EM, normal attacks, and so on).
Characters with the best synergy
All allies are distributed according to the roles they play in the group. The character himself always occupies exclusively the position of the main DD.
Sub-DD
A partial support that helps by dealing extra DPS outside of combat to trigger reactions.
| Character | Element | Weapon | Effects |
|---|---|---|---|
Dendro | Catalyst: | Resonance, Dendro status and increased damage from reactions due to the Tri-Karma Purification buff (elemental skill), increasing EM to 250. | |
Tighnari | Dendro | Bow | Can act as a secondary damage dealer and battery in the Dendro squad. |
Dendro Traveler | Dendro | One-handed sword | Increases Elemental Mastery with a passive talent, dealing periodic Dendro damage to an area. |
Collei | Dendro | Bow | At the 4th constellation, increases EM by 60. Without constellations, she helps to trigger the resonance and replenish energy faster. |
Emilie | Dendro | Polearm | Needed for teams from the Burning reaction, where she can additionally be given a set of Memories of the Deep Forest. |
Yae Miko | Electro | Catalyst: | Secondary DD with Electro damage from off-field to create Quicken reactions. At the same time, it deals high, explosive DPS when using the ult. |
Raiden | Electro | Polearm | Capable of contributing both her own DPS and helping the active character react to Electro. |
Beidou | Electro | Claymore | Elemental Burst allows the active character to summon Chain Lightning whenever it hits an enemy with a Normal or Charged Attack. |
Fischl | Electro | Bow | Good sub-dd. Doesn't require much investment or constellations to impact and help the main damage dealer trigger reactions. |
Lisa | Electro | Catalyst: | Free character with Electro damage in the area. Also the passive talent Static Electricity Field reduces all enemy defense by 15% for 10 seconds. |
Nilou | Hydro | One-handed sword | In the classic build, he only plays with Dendro and Hydro, so Alhaitham will go well in such a squad as the main damage dealer. |
Hydro | One-handed sword | Hydro pocket dd, whose damage depends on the maximum amount of health. Can also be built into a healer, since it can change the status of E to healing. Elemental burst increases the DPS inflicted by the team. | |
Xingqiu | Hydro | One-handed sword | A large amount of Hydro status allows you to effectively create Dendro Cores in combination with the damager's infusion. At the same time, the E increases interrupt resistance and heals a little at the end. |
Yelan | Hydro | Bow | Just like Xingqiu, ыhe is an excellent partner if Hydro status is required for Blooming. |
Mona | Hydro | Catalyst: | Increases all damage dealt by your ult. |
Candace | Hydro | Polearm | Buffs damage of normal elemental attacks by 20% even at level 1 of talent development. |
Kazuha | Anemo | One-handed sword | While Dendro doesn't synergize with Anemo, Kazuha is still an extremely effective crowd control and elemental damage buffer for Alhaitham's allies. |
Sucrose | Anemo | Catalyst: | Pulls enemies in and increases elemental mastery for higher reaction damage. |
Zhongli | Geo | Polearm | Strong protection and lowering the elemental resistance of enemies in a small radius. |
Yun Jin | Geo | Polearm | Increases damage of normal attacks with the ult, and at C6 - attack speed by 12%. |
Xiangling | Pyro | Polearm | A great pocket damage dealer that provides a large amount of Pyro status and additional DPS. Can be used in teams through Burgeon or Burning. |
Dehya | Pyro | Claymore | Suitable as an alternative sub-DD with damage from off-field. |
Pyro MC | Pyro | One-handed sword | The hero can be placed in a Dendro group only when playing through the Burning or Blooming reactions. |
Supports
Full support in the form of healers or shields that keep allies at a high level of health or impose various buffs.
| Character | Element | Weapon | Effects |
|---|---|---|---|
Baizhu | Dendro | Catalyst: | Provides the squad with a shield when using the ult and heals with active skills depending on the maximum HP. |
Dendro | Polearm | Dendro Resonance and Healing. At the 1st constellation gives a bonus to Dendro damage of 15%. | |
Kirara | Dendro | One-handed sword | Alternative shielder if there is no 5-star Baizhu. Although it cannot restore health, it has a convenient interval between the duration and cooldown of the skill, which allows you to apply the shield almost constantly. |
Dori | Electro | Claymore | Heals and helps restore energy with the help of the ult. |
Shinobu | Electro | One-handed sword | Creates an Electro ring that heals the active character and at the same time applies a status/damages all nearby enemies. A great character for a Hyperbloom team. |
Kokomi | Hydro | Catalyst: | Provides a lot of healing almost continuously. Especially valuable for playing through Blooming, where characters also receive hits from enemies and damage from the explosion of cores. |
Bennett | Pyro | One-handed sword | Heals, increases ATK (although this stat is not the most important, it will not be superfluous either). At C6, his infusion will not interrupt the damager's infusion, so they can play in the same squad anyway. |
Thoma | Pyro | Polearm | Grants a shield and inflicts periodic Pyro damage with an ult outside of the battlefield. On C6, increases the damage of normal and charged attacks by 15%. |
Zhongli | Geo | Polearm | Increases damage of normal attacks with the ult, and at C6 - attack speed by 12%. |
Yun Jin | Geo | Polearm | Increases damage of basic attacks with the ult, and at C6 - attack speed by 12%. |
Xianyun | Anemo | Catalyst: | Although Alhaitham doesn't need Anemo characters due to his Dendro element, the Cloud Retainer gives him the ability to play from Plunging attacks. This is beneficial in Quicken squads, where Electro Strike on enemies will deal increased damage. |
Examples of strong teams
Based on the above heroes, you can make the most effective teams for a particular situation:
- Quicken (Spread) Groups built around Dendro's interaction with Electro are the hero's main niche, where he shows himself best.
- Bloom (Hyperbloom and Burgeon). Squads with Hydro characters that help create Blooms and trigger Hyperbloom or Burgeon reactions. In this case, the character is used to apply the Dendro status.
- Burn. Teams with Pyro heroes, where the Scribe, due to infusion and abilities, maintains the Burning status on enemies.
Quicken and Hyperbloom Teams
Compositions in which Electro plays a key role in creating the reaction, interacting with Dendro or Hydro.
| Character 1 | Character 2 | Character 3 | Character 4 | Features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Dendro MC Collei | Fischl Yae Miko | Shinobu Zhongli | The hero combines well with Electro characters to trigger the Spread reaction. Any heroes with damage outside of the battle pain (for example, Yae Miko, Fischl) can be used as Electro support dd. For faster energy replenishment, Dendro representatives are well suited (this also resonates with the buff to EM), a healer or shielder is placed on the last slot (Shinobu, Zhongli). | |
Yelan Kokomi | Shinobu Raiden | Hyperbloom Squad. In such a team, it is important to have a healer to restore HP when damaged by the explosion of cores. It is worth considering that DPS here is affected only by elemental mastery. | ||
Tighnari | Yae Miko Raiden | Shinobu | Tighnari can also be a teammate as a support DD, for example, in a squad through Spread. At the same time, Electro should also be a strong support DD hero who can provide a stable status. You can replace Yaoyao with another Electro if you can’t constantly trigger a reaction. | |
Beidou | Fischl | Team via Quicken (Aggravate and Spread): Beidou and Fischl help each other replenish energy while simultaneously activating abilities that grant permanent Electro status. Alhaitham is on the field most of the time and triggers reaction (Electro's pocket skills can occasionally interrupt Spread, but the overall damage is still high due to the continuous triggering of reactions). Yaoyao is a Dendro battery and a healer. | ||
Raiden | Sara | Baizhu Kirara | A powerful composition with a boost to Dendro damage via the Spread reaction. Raiden provides a permanent Electro status, Sara activates an attack power buff with a skill and an elemental burst. Baizhu/Kirara triggers Dendro Resonance and shields the active ally. | |
Kazuha | Dori | While Kazuha does not interact with the Dendro element directly, it will give control of a group of enemies and will be able to Swirl Dori's Electro, giving it the Spread reaction. Dori can be replaced with Shinobu. | ||
Fischl | Kazuha | Zhongli | Alternate squad with Kazuha. Fischl is an off-field source of Electro damage to trigger the Spread reaction. Zhongli provides a shield and reduces enemy resistances. | |
Xingqiu | Yelan | Shinobu | Hyperbloom squad with a lot of permanent Hydro status out of the battlefield from Xingqiu and Yelan. At the same time, Shinobu activates Dendro's homing projectiles quite easily with the Electro Ring. | |
Candace | Beidou | A squad with a focus on Hyperbloom and Spread. Candace doesn't give enough Hydro status (up to C6) to continuously generate Blooms, but even so, she buffs the damage dealer's normal attacks. Beidou allows auto-attacks on the active character to trigger Quicken reactions. Yaoyao triggers Dendro Resonance and heals. | ||
Mona | Raiden Yae Miko Beidou | Baizhu | Squad through Quicken and Hyperbloom. Mona will increase all DPS dealt with the help of the ult, Raiden will allow to activate Quicken and Hyperbloom during Alhaitham's strikes. Yao Yao is a healer, buffer, Dendro resonance. | |
Raiden | Zhongli | A fairly expensive Archon team with a focus on Spread, where Nahid and Raiden's elemental skills are used first, after which the core of the team deals damage under Zhongli's shield. Constant energy generation and continuous reaction triggers. | ||
Dendro MC Collei | Lisa | Barbara | F2P group with a focus on Induce, particularly Spread and Hyperbloom. Lisa is quite effective at reacting with Dendro, especially with her ult and Electro AoE damage. Barbara can create cores and heal. Dendro Traveler/Collei are here for Dendro resonance and energy replenishment. |
Blooming, Burgeon and Burning Reactions
Groups where, with the help of the Hydro element, the Scribe either triggers a reaction or takes part in the creation of Flowering or Burning.
| Character 1 | Character 2 | Character 3 | Character 4 | Features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Xingqiu | Thoma | Kokomi | Burgeon Squad. Xingqiu gives Hydro status to create cores. Kokomi helps and heals the team. Thoma uses elemental burst to detonate cores from the pocket. | |
Xingqiu | Pyro MC | Baizhu | Team with Baizhu, who applies shields and heals, which allows you to avoid interruptions of attacks, and also restore health to squad members when receiving damage from the explosion of cores. Pocket damage dealers' abilities are needed to create and detonate cores. | |
Yelan | Thoma | Baizhu | Another variation of the Blossom group. Ye Lan casts Hydro, Toma provides periodic Pyro damage off-field to detonate the Dendro Cores created by Al-Haytham. Bai Zhu heals and increases the burst from the detonated buds. | |
Nilou | Kokomi Barbara | Blooming team with Nilou. In such a squad, the Flower of Paradise Lostis required to maximize damage from Cores of Abundance. | ||
Columbina | Nilou | Lauma Nahida Baizhu | A detachment through Lunar Budding with Columbine. Ideal option with Lauma, but then you'll have to play without a healer. If you're having trouble surviving, you can equip Prototype Amber on the hero of the fourth slot. | |
Furina | Nilou | Yaoyao | A squad through Blooming with reinforced cores thanks to Nilou's passive skill. Yaoyao gives additional Hydro status and gains fanfares for Furina, and with c1 can give a bonus to Dendro damage. | |
Emilie (C2) | Xiangling | Bennett | Dendro-Pyro team, which makes sense to use only if Emilie has her second constellation unlocked, which reduces Dendro resistances, and you really want to play through Burning. |
Stat Bonus for Ascension
The main stat of the Scribe is Dendro damage bonus, which grows with the hero's ascension and leveling. In addition to elemental damage, HP, ATK, and defense characteristics increase. More precise values can be found in the table below.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1039 | 24 | 61 | 0 |

Leveling
Next, let us consider how many materials are required to upgrade Alhaitham to the maximum level.
Ascension
The following resources are required for ascension:
- Slivers, fragments, chunks and gemstones of Nagadus Emerald. If you need more materials, they can be exchanged for other stones using Dust of Azoth.
- Pseudo-Stamens - material dropped by the world boss Setekh Wenut.
- Red Satin/Silk/Brocadedropped by The Eremites.
- Sand Grease Pupa — Sumeru specialty.
- 1 066 000 Mora and 421 Hero's Wit.
Talents
To upgrade each of the talents, in addition to Red Satin/Silk/Brocade, you will need:
- Teachings, guides, Philosophies of Ingenuity - Books of Talents from the dungeon Steeple of Ignorancewho farm on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
- Mirror of Mushin - material from the weekly boss Shouki no Kami.
- Crown of Wisdom (Insight) for level 10 talents.
- 1 650 000 Mora.
Skills

Alhaitham's abilities involve dealing constant Dendro damage via the infusion gained from his elemental skill, as well as an elemental burst with multiple area damage, allowing the hero to effectively interact with elements that react with Dendro.
Basic (Active) Skills
Next, we will take a closer look at the principle of how the Scribe's skills work and in what order it is best to upgrade them.
Abductive Reasoning
Normal attack: Deals 5 quick blade strikes.
Charged Attack: performs 2 swings, spends stamina.
Plunging Attack: Flies to the ground, dealing AoE damage upon landing.
Universality: An Elaboration on Form
Cooldown: 18 seconds.
Tap: Dashes forward, dealing Dendro damage to nearby enemies and summoning a Chisel-Light Mirror. Hold: Sets the direction of the dash using a mark, instantly teleporting to it.
Chisel-Light Mirror:
- When the skill is activated, 1 mirror appears (green diamond next to the character). If there are none on the battlefield at the moment, 1 additional mirror is created. No more than 3 mirrors can be active at the same time.
- With the presence of Chisel-Light Mirrors on the battlefield, normal, charged and plunging attacks are imbued with Dendro infusion, which cannot be interrupted.
- If elemental attacks hit an enemy, the Chisel-Light Mirrors perform a Projection Attack - it deals AoE Dendro damage in an area, depending on the amount of Chisel-Light Mirrors.
- Mirrors disappear after 4 seconds or after Alhaitham leaves the battlefield.
Skill and Projection Attack damage scales with ATK and EM.
Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena
Cooldown: 18 seconds.
Enegry consumption: 70.
Creates a field and deals multiple Dendro damage to the area. If there are Chisel-Light Mirrors when the ult is activated, they disappear, increasing the amount of attacks:
- 1 mirror – 6 hits;
- 2 mirrors – 8 hits;
- 3 mirrors – 10 hits.
2 seconds after using an elemental burst, if there are 0/1/2/3 mirrors consumed, 3/2/1/0 new ones appear.
Passive Skills
The hero has a number of special abilities that become available upon ascension.
| Talent | Effect |
|---|---|
| Law of Reductive Overdetermination | If you Select the character to craft weapon ascension materials, there will be a 10% chance to drop an additional item. |
| Four-Causal Correction | Dealing damage with Charged Attacks or plunging Attacks generates 1 Chisel-Light Mirror, up to a maximum of 1 every 12 sec. |
| Mysteries Laid Bare | Damage of Projection Attack (Elemental Skill) and elemental burst is increased by 0,1% depending on elemental mastery value of Alhaitham. Bonus damage cannot exceed 100%. |
Talent Leveling Order
Elemental Skill (E) = Basic Attacks > Elemental Burst (Q)
First, it is recommended to level up all of Alhaitham's skills side by side to level 6, then follow the recommendations based on your needs:
- Elemental Skill и basic attacks are the main combination for inflicting damage when choosing the role of a classic DD.
- If you want to put more emphasis on abilities, further leveling is as follows: elemental burst > elemental skill > normal attack. Otherwise, the ult is used to refresh mirrors during CD of the elemental skill and deal AoE damage.
Constellations
| number | Name | Effects |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Intuition | If enemies take damage from Projection Attack, the cooldown of the elemental skill is reduced by 1.2 seconds, but no more than 1 time per second. |
| 2 | Debate | After creating a Chisel-Light Mirror, Alhaitham's Elemental Mastery is increased by 50 points for 8 seconds. The effect stacks up to 4 times. The duration of each stack is calculated separately. The bonus is given even with the maximum amount of mirrors. |
| 3 | Negation | Increases the level of Universality: An Elaboration on Form (elemental skill) by 3. Max. Lvl: 15 |
| 4 | Elucidation | After activating an elemental burst, depending on the amount of Chisel-Light Mirrors that have disappeared and appeared, the following bonuses are given:
|
| 5 | Sagacity | Increases the skill level of Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena (elemental burst) by 3. Max. Lvl: 15 |
| 6 | Structuration | After 2 sec. after using the ult, regardless of the amount of actual Mirrors of Light, three more are always created. If Alhaitham generates them while there are already 3 mirrors on the battlefield, his critical hit chance is increased by 10% and his critical damage by 70% for 6 seconds. When the constellation condition is reactivated, the duration of the bonus is increased by 6 seconds. |
Best constellations of Alhaitham are С2, С4 and С6:
- The second constellation increases EM after creating Chisel-Light Mirrors - up to 200. This gives an increase to damage from the elemental skill and elemental burst due to the Mysteries Laid Bare passive talent, and also increases the overall DPS from triggering reactions.
- The fourth constellation after activating the ult, not only boosts the squad due to the bonus to elemental mastery, but also increases Dendro damage of Alhaitham himself.
- The sixth constellation Provides a high boost to critical damage and critical hit chance with the maximum amount of Chisel-Light Mirrors.
How to play Alhaitham

Alhaitham is a Dendro damage dealer who focuses on dealing primary DPS through reactions. He synergizes well with most characters and can deal damage with both normal/charged attacks under infusion, and with the help of their skills. At the same time, the hero is quite flexible, due to which both his biuld and team in both cases can remain the same. However, each gameplay still has its own certain nuances. Next, we will analyze how to use the Scribe's abilities when playing with a burst skill-based build and a classic DD one.
Elemental burst Damage Rotation
The playstyle for dealing burst damage with the ult is to first get as many mirrors as possible, then activate the elemental burst to get the most hits.
Skill Order: sub-dd/support skills > Alhaitham's E > Charged Strike > Elemental Burst (Q)
- We use abilities on supports/sub-dd to impose the appropriate statuses on opponents and activate buffs.
- Use the elemental skill on Alhaitham to get 2 Chisel-Light Mirrors at once, and then perform a charged blow filled with infusion to get the 3rd mirror.
- Once the required amount is obtained, activate the elemental burst to deal 10 hits with the maximum amount of mirrors.
This gameplay allows you to switch to other DPS characters after the Scribe has used up all the mirrors and needs time to cool down his skills.
Rotation with normal and charged attacks
To play through normal and charged attacks, Alhaitham needs to be on the battlefield at all times, switching to supports only to refresh statuses on the field.
Skill Order: using support/buffers skills > using Alhaitham's elemental skill (E) > dealing damage with basic attacks > elemental burst (Q) > refreshing effects from supports during ult > returning to basic attacks.
- Use your support skills to apply status and activate buffs.
- Switch to Alhaitham, use an elemental skill while dashing, then deal damage with a charged attack to get 3 Chisel-Light Mirrors.
- Continue hitting until all the mirrors disappear, then activate the elemental burst. In 2 seconds, refresh the quick effects of the buffers (usually these are elemental skills), then switch to the damage dealer. 3 mirrors will appear again, which will give him infusion.
- Save the charged strike to use it when all the mirrors are gone. This will increase the duration of the infusion.
- Repeat from step 1 when all of the supports' pocket skills are gone from the battlefield.
Is the Character Worth Pulling For?

Al-Haytham is a fairly strong and versatile Dendro damage dealer in Genshin Impact, effective against both groups of enemies and single targets thanks to his abilities and the Light Mirror mechanic. He can change his playstyle mid-battle to suit any situation, without having to rework his build or squad. He's also undemanding in terms of gear or constellations, as he can deliver high DPS even with a 4-star sword and no constellations.

You have a 3rd squad (Haitam, Yelan, Toma, and Baizhu) in the "Budding, Blooming, and Burning Reaction Squads." Write that instead of Yelan, Xingqiu applies the status
Thanks, fixed!
Of the two BP swords, which is better for Alkh? Black Sword or Wolf's Fang? I don't see Wolf's Fang on his build page, but Alkh is listed as a good option on the weapon page.
Wolf's Fang is better; it boosts E-value and explosion. And the Black Sword increases your melee attack, although again, that's an infusion of E-value.
One of my main favorites) It takes a little getting used to its mirror mechanics, but overall it’s not difficult.
Current team: Al-Haytham Colombina Lauma Shinobu
We went into the abyss, it was just a little short of 12-3 (only 2*), but I think if Bina and Lauma had been maxed out, we could have gotten 3*.
Is it good to get Al Haytham Lauma? It seems to allow for better crit on Buds or something?
Khaitham, Bennett, Nahida, Furina s1 ok???
