Powerful, fast, dangerous and with an injection of adrenaline - "Big races" are back in World of Tanks! The launch is scheduled for September 23rd. Players will have to take control of one of three special cars to participate in dizzying races on the Newport (formerly Port) map that has returned to the game. Those who participated in the previous "Great Races" in 2014 will recognize the familiar coastal industrial area.
Rules
- The battle format is 3v3.
- You can form platoons with friends or among random players.
- There are 2 racing lanes on the track, separated from each other by an impenetrable barrier, but there are several sections on the map (marked in red) where you can shoot at your opponents.
- To win the race, you need to get to the base and capture it faster than opponents do. The second option for victory is to destroy all enemy vehicles.
- Capturing a base, unlike the Encounter Battle, in Random Battles can be carried out simultaneously by two teams. The capture speed depends on the number of allied tanks, while the process can be interrupted by damaging enemy vehicles.
- Special combat missions will be updated daily and one mission per week. By completing them, you can get festival tickets and personal token elements.
- There is no limit on the number of attempts per day. At the beginning of the event, 5 races are available. Then a break of 40 minutes is activated and you can resume racing again until the next 5 races.

A total of 3 racing light tanks are available, each with its own unique performance and gameplay. In addition, they differ from each other with a unique racing tuning that is installed by default and cannot be replaced. Each car has one activated ability for acceleration - "Fast and the Furious".
There are two ways to achieve victory in the "Big Races":
- Get to the base faster than your opponents and capture it.
- Destroy enemy vehicles during a race or while capturing a base.
What is a pit stop
The pit stop is designed to restore the safety margin of the tanks. It is located in front of the base at the beginning of the track.
Durability is restored only to the first three tanks. So it makes sense to try to get ahead, because a larger supply of HP will pay dividends in the final stage, if it comes to a firefight to capture the base. The amount of health restored depends on your position among the riders:
- first place - 250 units.
- second place - 150 units.
- third place - 100 units.
Race progress
Team choice plays an important role, and progress in the event is determined by several criteria. Each of the three teams is led by a captain, by joining which it will be possible to receive various bonuses depending on the final place of the team in the races:
In the "Great Races" 5 stages of progress are available, which in turn are divided into:
- Personal available to every player from the start of the mode.
- Team open only after joining one of the teams.
Based on the demonstrated effectiveness, racing cups. Each cup includes a certain number of points that are taken into account when distributing the achievements of the "Great Races".
Upon reaching a certain amount, personal and team rewards are unlocked in turn:
Collections
By participating in the game mode, you can collect several racing collections, which are visually presented in a 20-piece mosaic. They are earned exclusively in races, for receiving any seven cups one fragment is issued. If you collect all one collection, then the reward will be a unique commander with zero “Combat Brotherhood” perk and additional experience for learning two more
Awards
For personal progress, in addition to game currencies (gold and silver), training materials and crew skins, you can receive the following rewards:
- a unique medal in memory of the races;
- decals, emblems and inscriptions;
- styling inspired by the 2014 American Car race.
