Bonus attack in Honkai: StarRail is an additional automatic attack that does not count as a character turn. It triggers immediately after certain conditions are met and is a source of free damage. Not all characters are able to carry out a bonus attack, but for heroes capable of performing it, the activation conditions are different and even include an element of chance.
In the guide, we’ll look at the mechanics of how a bonus attack works in HCP, discuss the characters capable of performing it and the Light Cones that improve it.
How the bonus attack works in Honkai: Star Rail
The general model of the bonus attack is as follows:
- A hero capable of a bonus attack is taken into the party.
- Performed in battle certain conditions (embedded in the character's abilities) by the hero's comrades-in-arms, himself, or enemies. For example, the HP of one and enemies becomes less than 50%.
- Immediately after the condition is met, the hero queues up and performs a bonus attack.
In this case, the hero’s turn is not spent, and his position in the queue does not matter. Even if the enemy must move after the condition is met, the character will still wedge into the queue and perform a strike.

Thank you for noting! We'll add it soon. With:
Do Jingliu count her moons as bonus attacks?
No
There is no reference to Kafka (unlike other characters)
Added, thank you for writing!
e4 Armor seems to also use the attack bonus)
Why are attack bonuses often so powerful? And by the way, it’s worth adding to the article in connection with the new attack bonus set at 1.5
Forgot to add that there is an achievement for activating 5 (like so many) Gert revolutions (kuru kuru :D)
Yes there is something about pirouettes
In the list of characters, Blade is missing, he also has a bonus attack
Can a bonus attack crit?
Yes
and tell me, what determines the duration of Herta's bonus attack? I noticed sometimes that she has short and long ones, in the second one she gives more damage than in the first
If on the field at the same time several opponents have their HP reduced to 50%, then Herta's bonus attack will be longer (that is, it will work several times in a row)
Isn't Blade's talent a bonus attack?
So far, there is no exact information on how Blade's skills work. The community has only additional. information from various insiders. For this reason, some characters that are not yet in the game have not been added at the moment.
Just looking at his gameplay, you can conclude that this is a bonus attack. After all, what prevents you from hitting Blade with 4 stacks and activating the talent, that is, the bonus attack. As for me, it sounds extremely logical, although arguing with the fact that information is a little stupid.
Each time Blade's HP drops, he gains 1 level per row for 3 turns, stacking up to 5 charges. For each attack, you can only get 1 level of charge. Upon reaching the maximum charge level, immediately performs a Follow-up Attack (Bonus) on all enemies, which deals wind damage equal to % of Blade's attack power plus % of max HP. Then restores Blade's HP by 25% of his max HP. Conducting a follow-up (bonus) attack consumes all available charge levels.
Good afternoon.
Does Sushan's Sword Stance count as a bonus attack? In the description of the skill, it says that it deals additional damage, which is not considered an attack.
Kind.
No, it's just extra damage. "Additional damage" as a concept is not related to the bonus attack and speaks for itself: it simply adds damage to the skill.
Zele's extra attack after a kill doesn't count as a bonus attack?
Seele gains an extra turn after finishing off. The extra turn does not count as a bonus attack.
And in Zele, after finishing off, an additional attack is also considered a bonus?
Hello! No, Seele gains an extra turn after defeating an enemy. This does not count as a bonus attack. The bonus attack is a separate technique: it cannot be select within the course, it can only causeby fulfilling the required conditions.
Well, in fact, for the "additional move" Zele also needs to fulfill the "required conditions" i.e. kill the enemy, so it perfectly fits the description of the bonus attack, it’s a pity that the developers think otherwise and in the virtual machine you don’t get buffs from this along the way ...
The feature of the bonus attack is that it cannot choose a target, and it is carried out only between turns. Of course, they could add. to make moves with bonus attacks, but there would be a strong imbalance in the game. Zele abilities would have to be cut, blessings for hunting and joy, etc.
Forgot about Qing Que
Added information about the 4th Eidolon Qingque.
Do path resonance abilities not count as bonus attacks? Zele, Velt, Natasha and Fiery GG were in the party, and on resonance I caught an achievement for bonus attacks, although none of them could do this. But it is not exactly. 🙂 I don't remember the cards I had, maybe I just got something. So you need to check. 🙂
There is a card that counts all superpowers as a bonus attack
