In Genshin Impact, Elder Churldrik is a local legend from the Hilichurl tribe that settled in the Windrest Peak area. He is renowned for his ability to prepare the most delicious fish soup and deal with uninvited guests. Rumor has it that this strange monster hails from an ancient underground kingdom.
During battle, he creates a special Geo construct. Any team can defeat the Ladler of Broth, but only certain teams can complete the bonus objectives that involve destroying the pot.
Where to find Churldrik
You don't need to complete any quests to unlock the Shamachurl Foodie. He's always available in the open world and can be found in the arena northeast of Cider Lake.
After the first encounter, it is easy to track him through Katheryne's menu.
How long does it take for the boss to respawn?
After defeating the Hilichurl Chef, you can only fight him again after the server time has reset. If you defeat him within ten last minutes of the day, he will respawn after the server time has reset.
How to defeat Churldrik in Genshin Impact
The monster has no special resistance to any element, but his cooking pot can only be broken by heavy attacks, primarily claymores, and Geo. The device is slowed by Hydro and Cryo, but it begins cooking faster if attacked by Pyro. Overloaded and other Pyro-based reactions are not recommended.
Top Teams
Build a team around Geo damage dealers, ideally claymore wielders, and don't forget about supports. The Shamachurl has powerful area-of-effect attacks that can kill in one hit. While you're breaking the cauldron, it continues to pelt players with projectiles, so be sure to bring a healer or shielder.
| Character 1 | Character 2 | Character 3 | Character 4 | Features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Zibai | Columbina | Illuga Gorou | Linnea Zhongli | The Lunar-Crystallize unit easily destroys the cauldron and deals significant damage. The white horse strikes in front of her, damaging the enemy and their structure. |
Navia Ningguang | Columbina | Yelan Illuga | Linnea Zhongli | It's best to save the Hydro Sub-DD skill and ultimate for when the cauldron appears. The team works roughly the same way, but Navia and Ningguang's slow attacks can make it more difficult. |
Navia Ningguang | Furina Yelan | Linnea | Kokomi Zhongli | Be sure to turn in Hydro support abilities near the pot so they can slow down the soup cooking. Try to primarily attack as Navia, and don't forget to use her skill. |
Itto Noelle | Columbina | Illuga Gorou | Zhongli Linnea | Both Geo damage dealers fight in a stance from their elemental burst, which grants them infusion. Make sure the ability is ready when the cauldron appears, and other characters' talents are activated. For Lunar-Crystallize, you should have harbinger Soubrette or Guild Councilor Linnea. |
Itto Noelle | Chiori Albedo | Gorou | Zhongli | It will be a little more difficult for the Mono-Geo team to meet all the conditions of the local legend, but even without Lunar-Crystallize, Hydro still slows down the cauldron timer and helps a lot. |
Destroy the Cooking Pot summoned by Churldrik
Periodically, the boss places a small stone cauldron in the arena, where he begins brewing his special soup. If you don't destroy it in time, he'll hit a large area. The state of preparedness is indicated next to the health bar.
The cauldron is only vulnerable to Geo Infusion attacks or heavy attacks. Fire abilities reduce the timer to 15-20 seconds, and Hydro abilities slow it down, buying additional time for the team. It's best to use heroes with a stable Hydro status here, such as: priestess Kokomi, harbinger Columbina or mechanic Aino. A Cryo sub-dps is a suitable alternative.
Don't waste your strong abilities and ultimates on the boss: save them to get rid of the cauldron. Once it's destroyed, the Shamachurl will take massive damage and lie motionless for a few seconds.
Defeat Churldrik before he finishes cooking in his Pot
For the third objective, destroy each summoned cauldron until the Hilichurl Chef is defeated. A strong team can deal with him after the first cauldron. There's no need to kill him while the device is active.
Weaker groups are better off exploiting the burst damage from interrupted cooking, which knocks the monster off his feet. Keep your abilities ready for each new cauldron and dodge the projectiles.
Rewards
In the Adventurers' Guild, you can obtain the following rewards for defeating the boss:
Churldrik is an easy target if you have a Geo damage dealer or a companion with a claymore: his attacks are easy to dodge, and the cauldron grants plenty of time to be destroyed if you have a Hydro sub-DPS. We recommend reading a separate article on other local legends.

Too easy to be a legend. Grandfather's ultimate destroys the cauldron in one hit, Zi Bai finishes it off—it took a couple of minutes, he should have cleared the map long ago.
Noel's ultimate breaks the cauldron (I'm level 70) + hydro applicator + two strong characters, except for Pyro, who will attack him. I've had success with several of these teams. But the horse doesn't cope.
I'm in awe. He just kills characters with one hit at certain moments... I've never encountered such a mess as this. And that's with shields against characters, like protection, imagine. Shields don't seem to do any good. And he's only taking very little damage from my squad. Meanwhile, Dwalin himself gets away in one hit after he goes down and I jump on him. What the hell is this!? I've never had such a hard time. Even though my grandma was inadequate, I barely survived it for a long time. And here I have no words, this is imbalanced, not a boss. And my squad is almost top-leveled, I'm in complete shock... What's going on here!? It's brilliant to create bosses with huge damage that are inadequate, and giving them 100K+ HP is simply brilliant.
How hard is it to learn to dodge one and a half slow attacks? Well, if Dvalin himself is leaving, then of course. Go, Khilichurlov, bey.
I tried to break the boiler with a premium pack of mare (Iluga C4, mare, flowerbed, linnea with signa) I suffered for almost a week and wondered what was wrong with me, and in the end I destroyed it with a squad that I didn’t believe in at all
Iluga, level 80 Navia with bad weapons and stats of 53/159 (scraped together from all over the account), Columbine and Ded
and this pack killed this boss much better and faster!!
In short, the main secret is a strong shield, rainy weather in Genshin, and a two-handed DD. I also advise you to just run around and see in what order the boss does what, so you know how long it will take for him to drop his cauldron again.
Good luck to everyone with this weirdo
