Cyberpunk 2077: street samurai katana build

Cyberpunk 2077 is a game with incredible rich variety of approaches to a particular situation that unfolds in Night City. V is able to solve the problem with criminal elements in different ways, depending on what is on hand.

Cyberpunk 2077: street samurai katana build

The Wotpack edition in this build will tell you how to build a street samurai, which does not recognize firearms. He likes a knife, machete, clubs, but his main happiness is katana, with which he will cut all enemies on the way to his goal.

Information

The "Street Samurai" build stands out among others by using a combination of the following elements:

  • katana;
  • armor;
  • high speed of movement.

All this is enough for the player to easily maneuver around the enemies and defeat them without falling under their attack.

Enemies in Cyberpunk 2077 very painfully "hit" from any guns at fixed targets, but with moving they have problems. And since the street samurai will move quickly, he will be able to hurt weak spots enemy and get rid of them quickly.

Two or three hits of the katana are usually enough to kill light and even medium opponents. The more armor and power the enemy has, the more hits are required. One thing, which is interesting, this is enough to decapitate the enemy during a stealthy passage of the game.

Parameters

For the Street Samurai build, the main builds are Reflexes, Strength and Coolness. Why should they be taken?

  1. Reflexes are needed to increase movement speed and crit chance, as well as to increase such an indicator as evasion. Leveling this parameter will allow you to open perks from the Blades skill tree, which the player will rely on when mastering melee weapons.
  2. Strength - a parameter, the pumping of which is necessary to increase health and stamina. The more power points - the more interesting passive properties from the branches "athletics” and “Destruction” are revealed to the player.
  3. composure. In fact, this setting is not so strongly required for this build. At the same time, adding points to this attribute makes the build itself more interesting, since the emphasis in this case is on creating pleasant conditions for the player when the Equanimity buff is activated, for example, increasing critical damage and increasing resistance.
All attributes in the game

Vi attributes at high levels should look something like this:

  1. Reflexes: 20
  2. Strength: 20
  3. composure: remaining points - here.

Unlike some other builds, the player will distribute stat points evenly between reflexes and strength. It is these two parameters that a gamer who wants to increase survivability and damage to enemies should rely on.

Perks

Now let's look at what perks a player should acquire in order to unlock the character's potential to the fullest.

Reaction => Blades

  1. Flutter By. Dodge increases damage by 30%. This boost lasts for about five seconds.
  2. sorry like a bee. A perk aimed at increasing attack speed with melee weapons. The faster the hit, the more likely it is to hit multiple hits in a certain amount of time.
  3. bloody dance. Inflicts bleeding on the enemy, which helps with healing. The essence of the ability is to deprive the player of the need to use first-aid kits and recover due to constant blade strikes.
  4. sparrow flight. Allows you to further reduce the consumption of stamina, which is important for long battles. Now you can run even more, and attack more often. With Sparrow Flight, the character becomes much more mobile.
    sparrow flight

Activating this perk is the first thing you need to level in this build direction.
  5. firm step. This perk increases your armor while moving, which should be done almost all the time. It will take a lot of armor to withstand enemy fire while you fly across the battlefield like a ninja.
  6. Blessed Blade. Increases the critical strike chance of any melee weapon by 20%, so you will want to use it as soon as possible. If you want to kill quickly, this perk will help you with this.
  7. Rebellious Spirit. Counterattack restores 25% health and stamina.
  8. scarlet spring. A perk that allows you to heal yourself whenever you give an enemy the Bleeding status or deal damage to a bleeding enemy. The Blood Dance Floor ability must be unlocked in order to fully use it.
  9. judge and executioner. Increases your damage against enemies at full health. This should allow you to kill a lot of enemies with a single hit, increasing the speed at which you can move towards your next target.
  10. Inspiration. The more HP the enemy lacks, the more damage from V's blade will be. This is especially effective when fighting bosses.

Strength => Athletics and Destruction

  1. Recuperation. This perk is the first to be acquired. Heals you over time during combat. The ability itself doesn't heal very well, but you can increase the benefit of the spell with future perks, making it much more useful.
  2. Epimorphosis. The perk will allow you to heal every time you leave combat. This saves a lot of first aid kits. You will always fight your enemies with full health.
  3. Steel and chrome. This perk further increases melee damage. Make the most of it when you have the opportunity - it will help a lot.
    Steel and chrome
  4. big target. This perk from the Annihilation skill tree increases damage to the enemy's torso. Often, when you are flying attacking enemies, you simply aim at him with your katana. With this skill, you can increase the damage even more.
  5. Healthy mind. This perk further increases health regeneration in combat while moving. You will be constantly moving, so you won't have to use first-aid kits. Great skill for this build.
  6. Wolverine. Late availability. Speeds up the time it takes to start regenerating health in combat, making it easier to heal in general. With this build, you will not only be a samurai, but also the likeness of Wolverine from the X-Men, which is really cool.
    Romakha

Calmness => Equanimity

  1. Equanimity. The only perk buff that is displayed and lasts 10 seconds. Activates the moment you kill an enemy. It starts with an increase in movement speed, but as you progress, you will unlock other benefits. Pick it up right away to start accumulating experience in this perk tree, since as early as level two you can get a permanent increase in critical strike chance.
  2. The Purest Companionship. Activating the Serenity perk causes an increase in resistance by killing an enemy. Gives good potential for survival.
  3. Critical situation. The perk aims to increase the duration of the Equanimity buff. Every player wants the buff to last longer, and if so, then this perk is a must-have. Upgrade it as soon as possible to make the samurai more deadly.
    Critical situation
  4. Rapid blood flow. Regeneration is a necessary part of any build. This ability from the Equanimity branch will provide everything you need to restore health. The higher the stack, the higher the health regeneration rate in and out of combat.
  5. Protective coagulation. Another perk that will help you survive, but it increases your armor with every stack. The more protection you have, the better.
  6. bloody mess. Increases melee damage while the Serenity buff is active. And even if the result is not too large an increase in damage, this ability is still needed.
  7. Cold calculation. Grants a chance to gain a stack of Equanimity on a critical hit. Since you do a lot of critical hits with this build, this perk will be a great addition to your build.
  8. Strong nerves. The perk reduces, to a large extent, the loss of stacks and additionally increases the duration of the buffs.

Equipment

In this section, we will look at what equipment is needed to play as a samurai from the streets. Let's start with the weapons, since they are the most obvious of all here and stand out more than others.

Weapon

The “Street Samurai” build, by its name, already makes it clear what kind of weapon V will need.

For example, those who have paid for the pre-order have a katana called "Black Unicorn". The damage of this weapon adjusts to the player's level at the time of pickup.

black unicorn craft

Now let's move on to the best options that the player should take a closer look at.

One of the best katana in the whole game is Satori, which can be easily missed if you do not know about it (the author of this build himself, by an absurd accident, could not get it, which he later regretted for a long time).

Satori craft

You can get it in the prologue in the mission "A Pass to the Major League". After the scene of the conversation between the father and son of Arasaka, the player should go up to the roof, find Avi - there he will be waiting Satori.

Video - How to get the Satori katana for those who could not take it in the prologue

Another rather interesting instance can be called Scalpel. It is quite easy to get it - you just need to complete the additional task "Number One", which is issued by Dennis in the Afterlife club. Just complete his task to receive a reward in the form of this katana.

Scalpel

Jinchu Maru - a good option for those who play on crit. This katana drops out after defeating the Oda boss (bodyguard of Hanako Arasaki, daughter of Saburo Arasaki) during the main quest called "Audience".

Jinchu Maru
Just keep in mind - for full disclosure Jinchu Maru V needs to have an implant Kereznikov.

Of course, in order to improve his weapon, the player will try to look for and pick up specific modifications. As always, there will be fashion for damage and attack speed. You'll also want to pick up a few mods for this weapon as it will improve your stats with it and in some cases your damage.

Also don't forget to upgrade it in the crafting menu if you have spare materials.

Apparel

As for clothes, for a V-samurai, you should look for things that have one of two bonuses, or both at once - to crit chance or critical damage.

If the player preferred high levels of difficulty, then, of course, you should look at the clothes that have a higher indicator armor - with it, the chances of surviving are much greater. This is especially important when V is a samurai who can only fight in close combat.

Love close combat? Rate the build on militia strongman, which also allows you to successfully fight in melee combat.

Implants

A samurai in Night City cannot survive without the proper combat and support implants.

  1. The first one is Berserker. With it, V can enter a special state in which the character's damage, armor, health, stamina, and resistance indicators increase. In addition, V is able to use a semblance of lifesteal when he kills or disables an opponent.
    Militech Berserk at Nina Kravitz

The installation of this mod depends on the level of the "Strength" parameter.
  2. Adrenaline Stimulant - Another good cyber implant that allows you to restore about 20% of stamina after defeating the enemy. It seems that this is not much, but "free 20%" will not hurt anyone. Leveling the branch of the Blades will additionally reduce the consumption by up to 50%, which will generally allow you to endlessly swing a katana in front of you.
  3. Biomonitor and other similar gadgets look great in this build, if only because they heal the character. But this is possible provided that the health indicator has fallen below a certain level. This will allow you to fight and not think about stopping because of the need to heal. The coolest implant of this category - Second heart. When you are "killed", he resurrects, and completely restoring health.
    Biomonitor
  4. Visual cortex stimulators и limbic system can increase your damage by increasing the chances of crit and the crit itself, which is important in melee combat.
    Limbic System Stimulator
  5. It would also be useful to take for yourself Kereznikov. The ability to slow down time to avoid alarming opponents or increase damage when using certain katanas (hello, Jinchu-maru) will allow the player to be more flexible during a confrontation with a single opponent.

Cyberdeca

The only hack that looks quite good is Request. It will show all enemies and connected devices in some area. This greatly facilitates the stealth game using a katana, since the player will know the direction of the enemy's movement, and it will be easier for him to set up ambushes.

Final tips

What should be noted for those who decide to play purely as a melee player with a katana in their hands and a Japanese theme in their head?

First, you should not constantly use only strong attacks (clamping LMB). Sometimes it will be faster and better to make a series of simple attacks. There may be several reasons for this: unwillingness to stand still, the need to put a status on the enemy (bleeding, electric shock, etc.), as well as fighting more than one opponent.

A strong attack is usually more effective against single targets.

Secondly, it is worth paying attention to the issues of maneuverability and pumping the skill tree "athletics". The best way to level it up is hand-to-hand combat. You need to beat the enemy until the stamina bar runs out. You can pump it out of combat, just constantly running and jumping.

Samurai with katana
Ideally, a gamer should level up by simply passing the game, but this process can be accelerated if desired, thus “farming” experience.

Thirdly, take care of firearms. We mentioned earlier that our samurai loves only a sharp and cold blade that pierces everything and everyone. However, in some cases, he still needs to take care of having at least some kind of firearm. Alternatively, you can take a sniper rifle (the most normal option is City and its iconic version Zero five or Supervision, Nekomata and iconic Breakthrough). She will be able to eliminate snipers and other dangerous enemies from a distance that the sword cannot reach, and only then move on to close combat.

Nekomata

While we haven't paid much attention to cyberdeck and demons in this build, since they are not really needed, some players can't play without hacks. In this case, we recommend using the demon, which spreads massively among enemies and makes them vulnerable to damage. Such "gift» before entering the battle will greatly help in cutting your way through the crowds of opponents.

If you like, you can use a more unusual variation of the samurai, who prefers Mantis Blades. Nothing much changes, except for the need for an implant that speeds up attacks with this weapon.

What a "request"... what nonsense are you writing!
If you have a "Sandevistan" cyberdeck, the character cannot make any "requests", because he is no longer a hacker, but a melee fighter!
Where did you get your builds from other people?

Where did you see "sandevistan" in the guide?
The author created the builds himself, some of the information was taken from foreign forums (at the time of the base version of the game, before the release of patches)

I got by without "Cold-Blooded." At first, I only leveled up Reflexes and Strength. When I got them to 20 and 18, respectively, I started leveling Technique (it really helps). Intelligence - 5, Cold-Blooded - 6. I installed Sandevistan and completely turned into an imbalance, even considering I'm currently playing on the highest difficulty. And when I leveled up the "Black Unicorn" to Legendary, it was just f***ing boring. It was like a Terminator. I wiped out the gang, moved on, and didn't even break a sweat.
I took down (suddenly) many of the bosses I was terrified of in previous playthroughs with just a few hits in Sandevistan. Oda, the Ghost Samurai, the Scary Baba in Pacifica, and others. I haven't gotten to Smasher yet, but I think he won't be a problem either.
By the way, the Ghost Samurai has a fantastic katana! (The cyberpsycho is not far from the corporate plaza, and the legendary Mantis blades are lying around in the same courtyard, by the way!) It's legendary, with three sockets. I used it until I unlocked the Inventor and upgraded the Black Unicorn (2311 base damage per second). Heads are flying, in one hit.
The katana is difficult at first, but once you get the hang of it and understand the tactics of katana combat (be a predator!), you'll be unstoppable. The most powerful build.

It's a shame I didn't level up Cold-Blooded. It really allows you to sprint around the battlefield like a mad stool and crit enemies with the first hit. Satori is perfect for this build. And by the way, aim for the secret ending—you'll get a real kick out of it. You'll see how your build is worth. This isn't about taking down street gangs.

I was already running around the battlefield like an angel of death ))) I cleared the entire map. I took down Smasher in 30 seconds, smashed him with a katana, and didn't even give him a break.
But I couldn't get to the secret ending... I don't even know how. What is a secret ending and how do I get to it?
I left with Panam and the nomads, just as I planned. I'd played through this as a female character before, and I was incredibly disappointed that I had no chance with Panam. )))) And she's the best woman in the game! Claire is also a blast, but unfortunately, there's no way to play with her at all. It's a shame.
Overall, my build turned out to be completely imbalanced; there were simply no dangerous opponents on the map.
I want to try playing as a netrunner now, level up my intellect to 20, and master demonic witchcraft.

I played with three builds (stealth, netrunner, and samurai) and didn't find any difficulty. I just had to push myself a bit at first. And with the samurai and sandevistan, the missions that required stealth were a bit of a challenge.

I've made myself immune to fire, electricity, and poison with the help of implants. Plus, armor. The most valuable thing in the game is finding a blueprint for an armor modifier for clothing. I dug it up in a crate at a street cafe in Pacifica, where the cyberpsycho screwed up the wedding. Once you have the ability to craft your own armor, you're a tank.

The build for leveling up the branch emphasizes reaction, strength, and composure, with implants for intelligence of 16 and above. Is this the intended outcome?

Good afternoon 🙂
The implants listed in the article are of the highest rarity. Reaction, Strength, and Composure are key stats for this build, you're right. As for Intelligence, you should max out your remaining attribute points and buy the implant listed in the guide, but of a lower rarity—to fit within the build's scope. 🙂
