Share is Lares' first assignment in Gothic 1 remakeBy completing this, you'll earn his trust and move closer to joining the New Camp. The bandit leader orders you to retrieve a shipment of swampweed from Idol Isidro and sell it for 400 ore. How to start quest
The quest is given by Lares in the New Camp, and the easiest way to get to him is with Mordrag as an escort for the quest Out of sightWhen you reach the gate to the rice fields, the merchant will hand over his ring—it will serve as a pass to Lares.
From the gate, head through the rice plantation and then along the path that climbs the cliff.
After passing Jarvis, cross the dam and head into the massive residential cave.
Go down the left side and run to the first stone house. Immediately beyond it, you'll find steps leading to two bandits.
Climb the stairs behind them. It will lead to Lares' hut, guarded by Roscoe. Tell him, "Mordrag sent me," and you'll be able to enter.
In a conversation with the leader, express your desire to join the gang and hand over the ring. Afterwards, you can ask about assignments and receive your first quest.

Meet the swamp merchant and convince him to sell the goods. Find a buyer for the entire shipment, and give the proceeds to Lares.
Where to find Isidro's Idol
The merchant from the Swamp Camp spends all his time on the first floor of the tavern by the lake, opposite the entrance to the residential cave. However, the guards at the entrance won't let you in. There are several ways to get past them:
- pay 100 pieces of ore;
- put on scraper's clothes - Sweeney gives it out for free in the Free Mine.
To disguise yourself, run from the tavern entrance along the path into the rocks. When you reach Coach Cord, turn left and go through the gorge. Be prepared to defend yourself—you'll encounter scavengers, mole rats, and a wolf along the way.
After entering the quarry, go down to the house on the bottom left and tell Foreman Sweeney that you want to be a miner.
Put on the shirt you were given and tell the tavern guards that you work as a scraper - they will let you in.
How to convince Idol Isidro to give up the swampweed
Talk to the Brotherhood merchant and offer to handle the sale of his shipment yourself. He won't agree, so end the conversation immediately.
Return to the living cave and go down to the bonfire to the left of the central pit. There, speak with Idol Khagan. Ask him the following questions:
- "Why don't your brothers send you an assistant?"
- "Help you sell the swamp grass?"
Head to the tavern and find Jeremiah. Ask him what he's doing there and he'll give you a bottle of rice schnapps.
Return to Isidro and inform him that Kagan wants to replace him. Afterward, offer him a drink, and then bring up the sale again.
Who can I sell a swamp tent to?
Don't sell the herbs individually—instead, head straight to the second floor of the tavern and speak with Cypher. If he's not there, look for him on the first floor or come back later. He'll buy the entire batch for 400 ore.
What to do if Cypher doesn't buy the swamp
It may be impossible to sell to Cypher due to an error or a shortage of goods - he will only buy the full amount given to Isidro:
- green newbie ×10;
- northern dark ×20;
- call of sleep ×20.
Check your inventory and, if some of the goods are missing, purchase the required parts from one of the Idols.
If everything is in place, but the option to sell to Cypher does not appear, try loading an earlier save.
How to get more experience
Along with the herb, you'll receive the additional quest "Swampweed Supplier." Its goal is to give part of the proceeds (200 pieces) to Isidro. But remember that Lares needs 400 ore, so if you have some spare ore in your inventory or can quickly get some by selling your accumulated loot, give the cultist 200 ore from your own pocket. For this, you'll receive additional 500 experience points.
However, 200 ore is a large sum in the first chapter. It's better to hold off on the quest and repay the Idol's debt when you've become a little richer—in the second or even third chapter.

Return to Lares and give him all the proceeds. In return, you will receive 500 experience points and you'll be one step closer to joining the ranks of the bandits.
