
Crawler Plate Armor - Quest in Gothic 1 remake, which allows you to craft unique, high-level armor from monster shells. This rare species of arachnid is found only in the Free Mine, and to gather enough raw materials for the armor, you'll have to exterminate all of them.
Completing the mission is complicated by a boss fight, a locked castle, and the Wolf's movement: the key character does not remain in place until the end of the task, but returns to his hut, disappearing from his usual place.

How to start quest
In Chapter 4, you'll meet Wolf in the ravine before the Free Mine gates and can accept the quest "Crawler Plate Armor" from him. This will happen after completing the story objective of rescuing the orc Tarrok in the quest. "The Greatest of Banners".
In the dialogue with the mercenary, be sure to say: "Agreed. How do you remove the plates from the sliders?" — so learn how to get new trophies from armored monsters.
Walkthrough of the "Crawler Plate Armor" quest in Gothic 1 Remake
To create armor you will need 15 shellsIn the Free Mine, you'll encounter seven Brawler Crawlers, each of which can drop two. The missing piece can be obtained from the boss, the Tormentor Crawler. It drops six at a time, so you'll collect a total of 20 plates in the mine—you can sell the rest.
Enter the Free Mine with Gorn
After speaking with the hunter, continue toward the captured mine, where you'll encounter a squad of mercenaries led by Gorn. Follow them to the bottom of the quarry, to the entrance guarded by Jackal and the guards.
After a short conversation, deal with Gomez's men and proceed inside. Use the key given to you by Gorn on the guardhouse in front of the closed gate and use the valve to open the tunnel entrance.
Where to find Fighter Crawler and Tormentor Crawler
The first group of monsters will be encountered after a long, winding tunnel and a wooden bridge with guards. Deal with the enemies on the ascending platform, and then look into the section below on the left—you'll find two arachnids there near the crusher.
From the ramp to the crusher, turn through the arch on the right under the wooden balcony. Further on, there will be stairs leading to the lower level, to the smelting furnace. Descend through the scaffolding and emerge into a blue-lit room.
From the furnace, follow the platform to the left—it will lead you to a section of the mine with a puddle in the center of the room. Here you can kill and loot three more monsters—two in the flooded room and a third in the corridor to the right.
By this point, you should have 10 shells, so you can move on to killing the boss in the closed section of the mine. But you can continue if you wish. the path to Tarrok and deal with two more arthropods next to it.
How to hack the door in the Free Mine
From the flooded section, move along the corridor where you encountered the last crawler. You'll soon come to a locked door leading to the slave chambers.
That pick the lock using a lockpick, use the combination depending on your level:

After passing through the corridors beyond the door, you'll find yourself in a chambered room, in the center of which stands a giant Tormentor Crawler. Despite its menacing appearance, the monster is almost incapable of penetrating fully upgraded faction armor, so it's easy to kill him melee weapons, with arrows or magic. Get six more plates from his body.
Afterwards, be sure to explore the closed area of the Free Mine using the skill "Rock climbing"In one of the upper chambers you will find powerful weapon - Orcish hammer Crusch Carrock.
Give the plates to the Wolf
Once you've finished your business in the Free Mine, return to the Wolf and tell him you've brought the crawler shells. The hunter should be standing on the same spot, where he gave the quest earlier. If he's not there, check the hut in the New Camp cave or look for him near the dinner fires.

By handing over the parts for future armor, you will receive 2 experience pointsYou can pick up the finished equipment. in one day at the Wolf, who will move to the New Camp.
Before returning to the Brotherhood and rewinding time, be sure to complete the mission "The Greatest of Banners".
Where to find the Wolf to pick up the armor
Once the mercenary leaves the gorge, he'll head to his house in the New Camp cave and stand at the workbench. The wolf lives in the fenced-in house, to the left of the mages' lodge balcony.
After talking to him, choose the phrase: “How is my special armor?” - he will immediately give you a ready-made set and more 1,000 experience points.
What to do if the wolf doesn't talk
First, check if the quest "The Greatest of Banners" has been completed. If Ulu-Mulu is already in your inventory and the quest is marked as completed in your journal, try skipping another day.
Your damaged reputation with the Old Camp guards may also affect completion. If you haven't spoken to Saturas and Lee about joining the New Camp after Chapter 3, do so now—complete the quest. Joining the Mercenaries.
