Jaheira in Baldur's Gate 3 – a game character who can be recruited into a squad during Act 2 during the course of the story. There are many reasons why a girl could die, so you should be careful when recruiting her.
In the guide, we'll explain where to find a new companion, how to prevent her from dying, whether it's worth taking Jaheira into your squad in BG3, and whether it's possible to have an affair with a girl. We'll show you where this character's house is and what you can find there.
Where to find Jaheira in Baldur's Gate 3
Jaheira is the leader Harpers, who use the Last Light Tavern as a refuge. It is there that you can find the character after the 1st meeting in the story, when you fulfill some conditions:
- If you go to this location through the Underdark, you will meet Harpers who will take the heroes to the Last Light tavern after successful negotiations.
- If you go through the mountain pass and proceed directly to the Moon Towers, the Harpers will ambush you on the way and offer to take their side. Agree to get to the tavern safely.
In any case, when you first meet Jaheira, you will have to pass several persuasion checks, after which the character will be allowed to stay in the tavern. Follow her requests and maintain a good relationship with the girl to recruit her in the future.
How to save Jaheira from death
There will be several moments throughout the story where Jaheira comes close to death. Follow the following tips to avoid her death.
Continue through the story and talk to Isobel on the 2nd floor of the establishment. During the dialogue, Marcus will arrive and want to kidnap the girl - refuse to help him and threaten him with death if he touches her. Repel the attack of the Winged Horrors and protect Isobel and Jaheira from death. The opponents are not difficult and there shouldn’t be any special problems when fighting them: throw protection buffs and use healing spells on the girls, redirect all the damage received to yourself and, in general, do everything to prevent the characters from dying. Otherwise, several scenarios are possible:
- If Isobel dies, the protection over the tavern will fall and all the Harpers will become hostile - protect Jaheira and do not allow enemies to approach her.
- If you kill the sorceress yourself, Jaheira will immediately become hostile, but she can be convinced that Isobel’s death was an accident: for this you will have to pass a deception test [KS - 16] or belief [KS - 18].
After this, a long quest will begin, during which you will have to find the Song of Night and protect the girl, preventing Shadowheart from getting rid of her and Balthazar from kidnapping her. Do not kill the character under any circumstances, otherwise Isobel and Jaheira will die immediately, and it will no longer be possible to recruit the Harper leader.
A separate guide details how how to find the Song of Night and is it worth killing it.
How to recruit Jaheira into your squad
Find a way to get in moon towers and reach your opponent Ketheric Torm. Before the battle with him, ask Jaheira to help: she will happily agree and become a controlled character for the duration of the battle. Don't let her act on her own, otherwise the heroine will quickly die.
A separate guide details how where to find Ketheric Torm and how to defeat him.
Even though the girl is playable, she is still not a full-fledged member of the squad, so if Jaheira dies, she will no longer be able to be recruited. At the end of the 1st phase of the battle, Ketheric will run away - follow him and meet the girl at the entrance to the dungeon. Talk to her and offer to finish off Torm together, after which she will fully join the squad.
If you missed the dialogue with the character and have already started the 2nd phase of the battle with the enemy, finish the battle and, when you pick up the Netherian stone, you will see a girl in front of you. This is the last attempt to decide whether to take Jaheira into the squad: when you get to the 3rd act, you will no longer be able to recruit a companion.
Is it possible to have an affair with Jaheira?
There is currently no way to romance Jaheira. Perhaps a new relationship branch will be added in one of the future updates, but for now players have not found any dialogue options that lead to a romantic line. However, you can establish strong friendships with the character: to do this, take Jaheira into the squad and behave as follows:
- Show courage at every opportunity.
- Fight for justice, no matter the cost.
If you do not deceive other characters or commit evil acts, then Jaheira will remain a loyal friend.
How to Explore Jaheira's House in Baldur's Gate 3
When you go to 3rd act, head to the northeast of the city to Elerratin's House, where Jaheira's family lives. Take the heroine to the active squad in advance so that her children can let everyone in without any problems. Start your exploration in the office to find valuable rewards.
Jaheira's office
Enter the first door to the right of the main entrance to reach the office: there are some interesting notes inside, but the main thing worth noting is Jaheira's desk. After you pass the attention check, look at pin groove on the right side of the table - to activate it, insert it inside harp icon.
Leave the room and go up to the 2nd floor of the house, where you will find the boy Tate - talk to him to get the desired engraved badge. Go back down to the table and insert the object into the slot for the pin - the passage to the basemyont will be open.
Jaheira's Basemyont
The basemyont is equipped with several dangerous mechanisms, but if Jaheira is in the party, she will tell you how to disarm them: just remove the box from the pressure plate to the left of the 1st trap to deactivate them.
Go downstairs and talk to Postmaster Badger, if you know how to talk to animals or have the appropriate potion in your inventory: get some information about what's going on in the city.
Inside the house you will find gold and several items for sale, but the most important part of the room is the hidden room behind the cabinet near the dining table. Remove the wooden box and look under the loose floorboards - there you will find a key that opens a secret room. The room contains several chests, from which you will receive a weapon and an amulet.

You will find it on the table Rite of the Unfading Body – read the scroll and discuss its contents with Jaheira to learn some lore.
