At The Game Awards 2022 Video Game Industry Achievement Ceremony Grand Prize took Elden Ring. Atmospheric Action RPG Director Hidetaka Miyazaki thanked the development team, the creator of the lore of the game - the writer George Martin, as well as players around the world for their support and interest. He noted that Elden Ring is the biggest project of FromSoftware studio.
In addition to the main prize of the event, RPG won several other awards:
- Best Game Direction.
- The best visual design.
- The best role playing game.
Elden Ring is a hardcore dark fantasy RPG set in an open world. Is an ideological continuation of the series Dark Souls and expands the formula of souls-like gaming into a vast, free-to-explore world of Inter-Earth ruled by a number of Demigods. The protagonist is the Unburning One, whose original goal is to repair the broken Ring of Elden and become the new ruler of the kingdom.
Competed for the titleGame of the Year» winner with the following nominees:
- God of War: Ragnarok;
- Xenobalde Chronicles 3;
- The Plague Tale: Requiem;
- Stray.
In November 2022, it was officially announced that Elden Ring had sold out 17.5 million copies.
