Evanessa in Honkai Star Rail: Build Guide, Endgame Squads, Skills, and Leveling Guide

Two-Dimensional Fox Build - Gear Rating and Sample Units.

Evanessa extends her hand

В HSR 5⭐ Path of Joy heroine Evanessa is a physical damage dealer and a hyper-carry. As a follower of Ahi, she relies on the "True Hit" status: it not only enhances her skills but also converts accumulated stacks into energy—important due to her demanding ultimate.

She excels against waves of enemies, and thanks to her superpower, she's effective against single, large targets. Given that consistently activating her superpower is essential to unlocking her full potential, she requires external energy sources, such as allies' buffs and equipment.

How to Get the Character

Evanessa's official announcement

The release of "The Jump", in which you can knock out Evanessa, is scheduled for 13 May 2026 city (second phase the 4.2 update). The event will last three weeks, that is, until June 2.

В banner schedule We regularly add up-to-date information about current and future Event Jumps.

Strengths and Weaknesses

The pink fox from Two-Dimensionality occupies the position of a unique hyper-carry from Mig Ahi, whose primary damage output is derived from her super ability. Because of this, building a powerful team will require significant investment and time.

Strengths Weaknesses
High damage in solo targetThanks to a talent that increases the penetration power of the super ability depending on the number of targets on the field, it performs well not only against groups but also against larger monsters. Little variability in squadsFor allies, she prefers meta supports like Joy and heroes with turn-progression and energy-filling abilities.
Good acceleration of the engineThis allows you to invest in other stats when building your gear—critical damage, attack power, and speed. Demanding on energy and speed recovery, which is problematic for a core character. This complicates the build, as it requires boosting multiple stats.
Simple gameplayThe rotation includes constant skill and ultimate spam, and the animations are free of visual "noise." Expensive equipmentTo maximize its combat potential, it requires signature weapons. Alternatives to the Path are acceptable, but will be less effective in comparison.

The Best Evanessa Builds in Honkai: Star Rail

Evanessa is built as a classic primary position player - through crits.

  • Priority CRIT DMG, which affects the increase in the Joy parameter.
  • Although the girl belongs to the characters of "Miga Ahi", the skills partially depend on attack power, so you shouldn't completely neglect the characteristic.
  • Given the high cost of this superpower, you'll need energy regeneration and speed to use it more often. Signature Light Cone provides a good boost to VE. If you don't have a weapon, you might need a connecting rope with this stat.

Light Cone Rating

The signature "card" meets the fox's requirements and has no alternatives due to its passive cooldown, making it the best option. However, if you don't have the resources for a legendary weapon, you can consider the following options:

Light cone Description  Recommendation
Until the flowers bloom (5⭐)
HP 43-953
ATK 29-635
DEF 21-463
CRIT DMG + 60-150%, energy restoration + 10-16%If the owner's maximum energy reserve is higher than 120 units, then for every 10 units above the limit, the regen increases by 0.3 % (max up to 360 units). When using the skill/P, the damage received by enemies increases by 15-40% for 2 turns. Signa is a universal option regardless of the heroine's chosen squad: a high increase in K/U, energy, and a direct increase in DMG by weakening enemies.
Future together (4⭐)
HP 43-953
ATK 22-476
DEF 15-331
CRIT DMG + 12-24%After the wearer activates the superpower, the Joy of all allies increases by 8-12% — lasts 1 turn. Another "card" with a cooldown and an increase in R-steel after using her ultimate. She strives to use the ability frequently, which will ensure the passive's stability.
Today's Good Luck
(4⭐)
HP 43-953
ATK 24-529
DEF 18-397
CRIT Rate + 12-20%After activating the special skill, the wearer receives + 12-20% R-sti. This bonus can be stacked up to 2 times. Even though the fox increases her damage/hit points thanks to hidden talents, the extra boost is useful for better stat balance.
Mushy Shroomy's Adventures (4⭐)
HP 38-847
ATK 22-476
DEF 18-397
Elation + 12-20%When the owner uses a special skill, the URN received by all opponents from this parameter is increased by another 6-10% for 2 turns. The free "card" will significantly increase the R-ness, which will affect the damage of special skills and the entire DMG inflicted under the effect of "True Hit".
Lingering Tear
(3⭐)
HP 38-847
ATK 14-318
DEF 12-265
When the "Humor" units are 10 or more, the k/u increases by 20-40%. K/U isn't just a DMG boost, but also an increase in R-steel due to the talent's effect. Therefore, any sources with this stat are useful, especially early in the game.

What relics and ornaments are needed

Choose sets with crits and other bonuses that increase the fox's damage.

Cavern relics

Set and its effects Recommendation
Ever-Glorious Magical Girl

2 parts: Crit. damage +16%.
4 parts: The wearer's Joy and their Memory Spirit's damage ignores 10% of enemy defense. For every 5 Humor points received by a teammate, the URN ignores an additional 1% of defense. This bonus can stack up to 10 times.

Ignore Defense is considered one of the strongest and most versatile multipliers, which, along with the K/U, will significantly boost a character's URN. To utilize this passive, simply accumulate Humor.
Ever-Glorious Magical Girl

2 parts: Crit. damage +16%.

In combination with these kits:

  • "The Wave Chasing Captain" (2 parts) — to/u +16%
  • World-Remaking Deliverer (2 parts) — k/sh +8%.
Given the need for a critical indicator, you can combine sets with this parameter to quickly achieve a balanced build.

Planar ornaments

Set and its effects Recommendation
Panclord Level Zero

2 parts: Joy +8%. When this stat reaches 40%/80% for the first time during combat, the bonus increases by 20%/32%.

The girl independently increases her personal R-sti stat thanks to her talent, so in an alliance with supports of her Path (if she doesn't have enough K/U), she will receive the maximum increase.
The Wondrous BananAmusement Park

2 parts: Critical Damage +16%. If the hero's summons are present in the arena, his Critical Damage increases by an additional 32%.

The set offers a powerful crit bonus, but requires a team member to have the passive effect. Dan Heng: Permansor Terrae (Preservation: Physical), which will tie the "Dragon Soul" to the heroine.

Recommended Stats

When farming relics and jewelry, pay attention to the increases to these stats:

Head HP (fixed)
Hands Attack Power (fixed)
Body CRIT DMG > CRIT Rate
Boots Speed > ATK
Planar Sphere ATK
Link Rope Energy recovery rate ATK

Among the secondary stats, look for:

CRIT DMG > CRIT Rate > speed > ATK (%)

Strive to ensure that when entering a fight the fox has:

  • ATK — 1,900-2,000 units;
  • crit rate — 80% and above exactly in battle;
  • crit dmg — 170-190% and higher;
  • speed — 134 units or more.

Evanessa Command Guide in XSR

Evanessa plays the main damage dealer role in the team, and her gameplay revolves around building stacks of True Hit. She largely buffs her abilities on her own, but additional investments will have a significant impact on her DPS.

Can play outside of Joy squads, although will get the most benefit from representatives of his Path and heroes that replenish energy.

Which characters are suitable?

Given the fox's skill set, these allies offer a high level of synergy:

Character Features
Yao Guang (Elation: Physical)
An essential unit for hyper-carries who rely on the Ahi Flash mechanic, as it increases Joy's damage and advances the duration of Aeon, which triggers R-sti's skill chain.
Pioneer (Joy: Electric)
A budget replacement for General Yao Guang, she can be teamed with. Increases class damage, provides a bonus to cooldown, and allows the reuse of her special ability.
Sparkle (Harmony: Quantum)
Bronya (Harmony: Wind)
Supports with a turn progression mechanic, where:
  • Sparkle is a more versatile option, as it not only provides a boost to combat stats, but also debuffs enemies (increases damage dealt to them).
  • Armor is an alternative to the Slacker that helps you re-attack and boosts your K/U and ATK.
Huohuo (Abundance: Wind)
TOP 1 Abundance for Evanessa thanks to the energy recovery from her ultimate and the attack damage increase.
Sunday (Harmony: Imaginary)
Tingyun (Harmony: Lightning)
Cyrene (Remembrance: Ice)
An alternative to heroes with the functions of promotion and replenishment of the "bank":
  • Sunday increases critical hits and gives energy;
  • Tingyun increases ATK, helps use the ultimate more often and supports with electric damage;
  • Cyrene, by summoning Demiurge, allows for an extra move and activates the entire squad's superpowers.

Leveling

Evanessa's Leveling Materials

Total amount of resources to fully enhance the fox:

  • Credits ×3 887 800;
  • Traveler's Guide × 290;
  • Tracks of Destiny ×8;
  • aggressive clot ×65 — material from “The Stagnant Shadow: The Form of Seaweaving”;
  • the silence of the defeated stream ×12 - reward for an elite enemy Anti-Creator, Hatred Inundate;
  • hand-drawn storyboards ×18, anniversary issue ×69 and a collection ×139 "Fluffy Wanderer" - components from "Sepal (Crimson)" in the area tavern "End of the World".
  • childhood chalk ×56, steel woven from dreams ×71 and a transparent brush ×73 - can be obtained from mobs found in the Two-Dimensional territories.

How the skills work

The main mechanic of the character is the "Real Hit" status, as it:

  • converted into additional energy (and vice versa);
  • Allows you to deal damage to Joy with active skills.

The girl's arsenal of skills also includes the creature "Teacher Fox" (not considered a separate ally): it deals additional damage with a bonus attack, provides energy and weakens enemies, increasing the damage they receive.

Active skills

The unit's rotation focuses on constant attacking with two types of skills and periodically resetting its ultimate. Typically, it positions itself as a physical hyper-carry, so it won't share skill points with other support damage dealers.

Instantly attacks enemies within the skill's area of effect. At the start of the battle, all enemies take physical damage equal to 100 % from the heroine's attack power. The girl is given 20 "A real hit."

Deals physical damage equal to 50-140% of ATK.

Deals damage to the selected enemy (150-375%) and targets located nearby (75-187.5%), also receives 10 "Humor".

Each enemy takes physical damage of R-sti (55-137.5%), and the fox is given 5. "A real hit."

Performs an AoE attack that deals 80-200% physical damage. After that, it makes 5 more consecutive attacks equal to 72-144% from ATK, at a random target.

Passive ability

The passive is of great importance, as it greatly increases the fox's damage.

The heroine receives an increase in Joy in the amount of 20 % from the critical damage indicator.

  • Whenever a girl recovers energy, she simultaneously gains the same number of Real Hit levels.
  • Whenever she gains True Hit, she will simultaneously recover the same amount of energy.
  • A "real hit" counted in this way at one time does not exceed 100 units.

When 240 energy is accumulated, 240 of the accumulated value is consumed and Teacher Fox performs a bonus attack (50-120%) and restores 10 units of resource to the “owner”.

A maximum of 240 accumulated energy value can be obtained at one time when restoring energy.

When Evanessa is under the effects of "A Real Hit":

  • The skill deals physical damage to one opponent (Joy)8-20%).
  • The superpower deals physical damage to all targets (12-30%) and a random mob (14-35%);
  • R-sti's ultimate damage takes into account the "True Hit" equal to the maximum energy;
  • Teacher Fox's bonus attack deals Joy physical damage to all enemies (12.5-31.25%).

Skill leveling order

Joy Talent/Skill skill > superpower > basic attack

A significant portion of the damage comes from R-sti's skill and ability, which are effective in both AoE scenarios and against single targets. The talent is the heroine's main buff; like other active spells, it should be leveled up first.

Traces

Passive Ability Tree:

  • T1 "General Rejoicing" — Critical Chance +30%. If there are 3 or more/2/1 enemy targets in the arena, the number of additional super ability hits increases by 1/2/4. When a partner with a lower Participant ID than the heroine receives a "True Hit", she converts 50% of this status into her own "True Hit".
  • T2 "Executed Sentence" - Teacher Fox hangs debuff "Weakness" and enhances damage received by opponents, + 12+ 3 course.
  • T3 "Everlasting" - after the allied "Real Hit" effect ends, the girl converts 50% of this effect into her own status.

Unlocking all tracks will give a boost to the following stats:

Speed K/sh Elation
5 18.7 % 18 %

Eidolons

The best consts of Evanessa are considered to be the first and second eidolons:

  • E1 — provides a universal bonus in the form of penetration of all types of resistance and allows for the reuse of a special skill, which significantly strengthens the girl's role as a physical core.
  • E2 — Increases critical damage and helps you enter the "True Hit" status faster.

Resonance level The effect
E1 Penetration of all resistance types is increased by 20%. After hitting with "Teacher Fox," the Joy skill is triggered again. N/R grants the heroine 10 additional stacks of "True Hit."
E2 K/U increases by 36%. Receiving the "True Hit" status from the "General Jubilation" and "Unfading" traces additionally grants "True Hit" (50/100%).
E3
  • Skill level +2.
  • Basic attack level +1.
  • Elation skill level +1.
E4 Damage dealt ignores 15% of enemy defense.
E5
  • Ult level +2.
  • Talent level +2.
  • Elation skill level +1.
E6 True Hit's duration is increased by 1 action. R-Sti's damage is increased by 15%. For every 100 points of True Hit, it is increased by an additional 2%, up to a maximum of 1,000 stacks. Activating the ultimate for the first time after the start of the battle restores 120 energy. This bonus is triggered once every 4 ultimate abilities.

How to play as Evanessa in HSR

Hoho uses the skill on all party members.

The 2D Fox is a very easy-to-learn hyper-carry who specializes in frequent skill and ultimate use. She doesn't have a specific rotation, but she's highly dependent on support allies, particularly those with proactive moves and energy regeneration.

  1. Before the battle begins, activate your support's and Evanessa's techniques. Her technique is especially important for generating additional True Hit stacks after entering battle.
  2. When the girl turns, always use your main skill - this will not only deal a lot of damage, but also fill up your "bank" faster.
  3. Use your ult on cooldown: once you've accumulated 100% energy, you can immediately use the skill.
  4. Don't neglect the abilities of your Sap allies, which replenish your energy resource. The fox's total "can" capacity is 200%, so you can activate spells on cooldown.

Is the character worth getting?

Evanessa is very strong in endgame modes, but is extremely demanding in terms of team composition and weapon selection. She's not suitable for beginners who haven't yet invested in Yao Guang (Elation: Physical) and / or Sparkle (Harmony: Quantum), or do not have alternative support with the functions of promoting action and restoring energy.

While there are some good F2P examples, it's important to understand that they are significantly inferior to signature commands. To maximize its potential, the fox wants to move as often as possible and use its superpower. This is more difficult to achieve without a light cone. Until the flowers bloom and meta supports. So, if you plan to play Evanessa, you'll need to take these aspects into account.

Which is better: signature or E1

When choosing between level 1 Resonance and a signature weapon, it's best to choose the latter. Due to the high investment in recovery, the signature weapon provides a much more significant damage boost than the constant weapon. It's worth getting E1 if have top-notch support, which compensates for the loss of additional percentage in the VE. In other cases, focus on Until the flowers bloom.

Does E2 make sense for Team Radost?
I also need some advice on where to go next, because right now I have: Evanessa E1P1, Yao Guang E0P0, GG E6P0, and Hoho E0P0. Sometimes I use Wasteland Liberator E2P1 instead of Hoho, and Sparkle E0P1 instead of GG.

So far, I only see the point of E1 or Signature Cone for Yao Guang, but I'm not sure which would be better. I'm also wondering: should I use Spark of Joy as a sub-DD for this team or just wait for Beatrice?

A Spark for the Wolf

Asagi's calculations showed damage exactly the same as the silver wolf's pack. Although he was sure it would be lower. She doesn't really need the energy, and Sunday is pretty weak. She has a practically identical unit to the wolf.
However, according to Asagi, Hyacinna plays better with Wolf than Hoho E0, and with Evanesa, both deal equal damage. In the final disk, both have around 40kk without Spark, while with Spark, E0c1 has 44-45kk. A rather small increase for two costs. Spark instead of GGR E6.
That's how it is...
Dan Hyun didn't count.

No jokes, due to the lack of e6 spark, the question is, does the gg give Eve more power if the fox is tied to hits?

On June 8, 2026, Apoc updated, requiring two bosses. I got all the jades. I felt like the third node was a test (Wolf, Iskra, GG of Joy, Dania of Preservation) and (Eva, Yao, Cipher, Hoho). In the fourth node (the regular one), I decided to take a risk – I swapped GG and Yao. Eva started ulting less often, and Cheetah managed to shield; I still got 3* on the skinny. The new node was completed with the original packs + a pack of Darkness and Cyrene. Everyone except Dania of Preservation had Signs; E1 for Eva, Yao, and Hoho. Not 11-12k, like with E2 characters and the new Blade, but definitely between the target and 11k.

With Evanessa, the Joy GG, Sunday, and Dan Hen the Shielder, I'm easily beating the Arbiter Knight. In theory, I could use Sparkle instead of Sunday.

No, there's no point in a wolf. Firstly, EVA stacks won't loot after the wolf's turn, and secondly, both characters are DDs.

Evanessa's best team without Yao should be GGP + Cyrene.
