Ganyu in Genshin Impact: Build, Squad Guide, and Leveling

Qilin Adept Guide: Optimal Gear Options for Main and Sub DPS Roles.

Ganyu in Genshin Impact

In Genshin impact, Ganyu is the general secretary of the Liyue Qixing and a Cryo Archer, primarily serving as the primary damage dealer for charged shots. However, due to the mechanics of her ultimate and the buff built into her passive abilities, she can take the sub-DD position, especially when playing with Cryo allies.

Although the character's gameplay may seem boring, it is compensated by high damage, ease of use and great friendliness to the choice of equipment and squads. The heroine most often plays with a shielder in the squad, since she does not have high resistance to interrupting attacks and can be knocked down while executing shots. However, this is not a mandatory option, and with a certain amount of skill, she can play with a healer or by controlling enemies through Frozen.

How to Get the Character

Ganyu's rerun will take place January 21 to February 11 2025 in the Chronicled Wishof the patch 5.3. To obtain the character's constellations, you need to pull for her copies.

In order not to miss the release of the new heroes, as well as reruns of the old ones, stay tuned for updates in our banner schedule.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Before you build Ganyu, check out her pros and cons:

Strengths Weaknesses
She is an easy-to-use character because she does not require a special order of skills. Due to charged shots, she requires frequent dodging or the presence of a shielder in the group.
Her primary damage output as a primary damage dealer is charged shots, so she will often have to stay away from enemies who can hit her. Constantly aiming charged shots is not convenient for all players, especially for users on mobile devices
Capable of occupying both the role of main DD and sub DD in a squad. It takes some time to charge the attack to the second level, which is why the gameplay may seem boring and too slow.
With ascension, gets additional crit damage, which simplifies building her, and is also very useful when playing through Frozen. The icicles that fall during the ult are completely random, so the heroine does not show herself very well as an elemental reactor against a crowd of enemies.
She has a Cryo element, which opens her way into many groups through reactions.
Deals high damage even without constellations and can quickly destroy groups of enemies with area attacks.
Easy to build even for beginners, since artifacts for her are easy to find at the beginning of the game.

Best Ganyu Builds in Genshin Impact

In combat, the heroine uses charged shots, with which, after some charging, she deals both single ice damage to the target and area damage with the help of bloom arrows. Her elemental burst covers a large area and attacks from the pocket for a long time, and also buffs the Cryo damage of characters located inside the field. Since the general secretary of the Liyue Qixing can occupy various roles in the squad, her build changes somewhat.

There are two types of builds on Ganyu - main-dd and sub-dd. Let's look at each of them in more detail to help you make a choice:

Main DPS Build Sub-DPS Build
High damage to both single target and groups of enemies with charged shots. Due to the lack of a buff to Crit Rate, she is more demanding for stats in artifacts.
Can be built for both Melt and Frozen teams. Suitable for any squads that need not only an applicator, but also an ice element buffer, since with the help of a passive talent she increases the bonus of this type of damage when inside the field of her ult.
Capable of quickly clearing any game content both at low and high ranks. She is fully capable of revealing herself at C4, but even without this she is a strong and useful sub-dd.

Recommended Stats

Both the main-dd and the sub-dd builds require Crti DMG and Crit Chance, as well as attack power. These are the main characteristics of this character that you will have to look for in any artifacts. You will need ATK watch, crit circlet, and cryo damage goblet.

Energy recharge is also necessary, and if the heroine is a secondary damage dealer, it is worth paying more attention to this stat, since the character needs to activate her ult on cooldown. Elemental Mastery will be needed if this hero plays through the Melt reaction.

Recommended values:

  • ATK: 2000 and more.
  • CRIT Rate/DMG: needs to be balanced depending on the squad Ganyu is playing in. However, it is worth considering her passive ability "Undivided Heart", which increases the crit chance of charged shots by 20%. If this is a team through Melt without a second ice character, it is acceptable to bring the crit chance to 60%, and invest the rest in Crit DMG. When playing through Frozen and with a Cryo ally, the crit threshold decreases to 30%. Cryo Resonance along with the Blizzard Strayer are capable of giving 55% Crit Rate, which allows you to take the Crit DMG circlet and pay more attention to this stat.
  • Energy recharge: About 110-120% is enough.
  • Elemental Mastery: approximately 150-200. This stat is only required when playing through Melt. In mono-Cryo squads and Frozen teams, there is no need to look for EM.

Recommended values:

  • ATK: about 1700-2000 and more.
  • CRIT Rate/DMG cshould be in a 1:2 ratio, e.g.: 60% Crit Rate for 120% Crit Dmg. As in the case of main-DD, when playing with Cryo Resonance, you can pay less attention to the crit chance, focusing on Crit Dmg.
  • Energy recharge: about 160-200% depending on the presence of a second Cryo character and C2, since the character must constantly maintain her elemental burst in an active state.

Selection of bows

The heroine's weapon differs depending on the build. Let's take a closer look at each build for the secretary from Qixing.

You can find out about other equipment and its demand in weapon tier list.

Weapons for a main DD

If you are building Ganyu as your main damage dealer, her weapon should have Crit DMG or ATK in its stats. Bows with Crit Rate are also suitable, but in this case, you need to put more emphasis on crit damage in your artifacts, especially in Frozen builds.

Bows that are suitable for a main dd:

Name Passive Recommendation
Hunter's Path
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
44-542
CRIT Rate:
9.6%.44.1%
Increases all elemental damage by 12%-24%. Hitting with a charged attack grants the effect of Tireless Hunt, which occurs once every 12 sec. and disappears after 12 uses or 10 seconds. Tireless Hunt increases the damage of charged attacks by 160%-320% of elemental mastery. The best weapon to play through the reaction Melt with Pyro characters in the squad. Since the damage scales with elemental mastery, in this case you can give the hero a watch for this characteristic.
Luke Amos
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
46-608
ATK:
10.8%-49.6%
Increases the damage of normal and charged attacks by 12%-24%. For every 0.1 sec. flight of an arrow, its damage increases by 8%-16%. This effect stacks up to 5 times. It's the signature weapon for the Secretary of Qixing, suitable for any squad, both through Melt and Frozen. Note that to get the maximum buff, you need to be as far away from the enemy as possible, so that the arrow's flight will be longer.
The First Great Magic
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
46-608
CRIT DMG:
14.4%-66.2%
Increases hold attack damage by 16%-32%. For each character of the same element in the team (including the bearer of a weapon), it gives 1 level of Gimmick, and for a hero with a different element - 1 level of Theatrics. For 1/2/3 level of Gimmick, attack power increases by 16%/32%/48%–32%/64%/96%. For 1/2/3 levels of Theatrics, movement speed increases by 4%/7%/10%–12%/15%/18%. The bow gives a lot of Crit DMG and has a high base. In addition, it enhances charged attacks, which are the source of the heroine's damage. The bow should be used in mono-Cryo squads to get the maximum attack power bonus from three levels of Gimmick. When playing in a squad through Melt, take a watch for Elemental Mastery to compensate for the loss of damage.
Astral Vulture's Crimson Plumage
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
46-608
CRIT DMG:
14.4%-66.2%
Increases attack power by 24%-48% for 12 sec after activating the Swirl reaction. If the party has 1/2 or more characters with other elements, the damage of the wielder's charged attacks increases by 20%-40%/48%-96%, and their ult damage by 10%-20%/24%-48%. Even though the goat won't be able to get the ATK bonus due to the inability to Swirl, the buff to charged attacks and ult will be very useful in Melt squads.
Aqua Simulacra
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
44-542
CRIT DMG:
19.2%-88.2%
Increases character's health by 16%-32%. If there are nearby enemies, increases the wearer's damage by 20%-40%. A good bow that gives a huge amount of Crit Dmg. The only condition is to stay close to the enemies, so with this weapon you will not be able to run away from enemies to shoot from a safe distance. With a support on ATK, in some situations the bow can outperform even a signature.
Polar Star
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
46-608
CRIT Rate:
7.2%-33.1%
Increases the damage of ults and E by 12%-24%. Gives for 12 sec. 1st level effect Star of the Polar Night after hitting with all the character’s skills. If you have accumulated 1/2/3/4 levels, then the attack power increases by 10/20/30/48%-20/40/60/96%. A good bow that allows you to fully focus on gaining Crit DMG in artifacts. However, in order for this weapon to compete in damage with others, you need to press all the skills and track the duration of all levels of effects.
Scion of the Blazing Sun
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
44-565
CRIT Rate:
4%-18.4%
After being hit, hold attack once every 10 sec. additionally attacks the enemy with a Sunfire Arrow, which deals 60%-120% damage from the attack force. An enemy who receives Arrow damage for 10 sec. gains the Heartsearer effect. Heartsearer increases the damage of a charged attack against an enemy with this effect for 28%-56%. The best 4 ⭐ bow for the main DD role. Crit Rate is not as useful for this character, but it allows for better stat balancing. The bow's passive works from charged hits, so it doesn't require additional conditions to activate the buff.
Flower-Wreathed Feathers
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
42 ~ 510
ATK:
9%-41%
Reduces stamina consumption while flying by 15%. Charged attack damage when performing aimed shots is increased by 6/7,5/9/10,5/12% every 0,5 sec. This effect can stack up to 6 times and disappears 10 sec after exiting aiming mode. The heroine's charged attacks are some of the longest in the game, and she uses the aiming mode. The weapon boost will significantly increase the shots, and the sub-stat will allow you to play both in Melt and Frozen.
Hamayumi
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
41-454
ATK:
12%-55.1%
Increases normal attack damage by 16%-32% and charged - on 12%-24%. The effect is doubled when the character's ultimate is fully dialed. A great free option through crafting, since the heroine rarely uses the elemental burst. The buff on normal hits is not very important, but the second half is much more comfortable, since it does not force you to aim at the enemy's vulnerable spots.
Song of Stillness
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
42-510
ATK:
9%-41.3%
After receiving healing, increases damage by 16%-32% for 8 sec. Another F2P bow on ATK. Unlike the previous version, it increases the character's overall damage, but requires you to take a healer into the squad, who will consistently heal her once every 8 seconds.
Ibis Piercer
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
44-565
ATK:
6%-27.6%
After a hit, holding an attack increases elemental mastery by 40-80 for 8 sec every 0.5 sec. The effect stacks up to 2 times. Could be obtained in patch 3.7.
The Qilin needs attack power and also uses charged attacks. Since the bow buffs elemental mastery, it is better to give it to a character in the party through Melt.
Prototype Crescent
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
42-510
ATK:
9%-41.3%
After hitting an enemy's weak points with a targeted shot, it increases attack power by 36%-72%, and movement speed by 10% for 10 sec. A free bow through crafting that can be obtained from the lowest ranks. Provides a lot of ATK, allowing you to focus on crits, but requires you to hit the weak points of your enemies. The downside of this bow is that not all enemies have weak points.

Weapons for a sub-dd

Bows for the secondary damage role should have ATK or energy recovery in their stats. Let's look at suitable options:

Name The effect Recommendation
Elegy for the End
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
46-608
Energy recharge:
12%-55.1%
Grants a buff to Elemental Mastery for 60-120 . After hitting with an E or ult, gives the Sigil of Remembrance every 0.2 sec. even in the pocket. Four sigils for 12 sec. increase the elemental mastery of squad members by 100-200 , and attack power by 20%-40%. The best option for a sub-DD, which increases her support abilities. Allows you to activate elemental burst on cooldown, as well as choose good stats in artifacts. It is best to take this bow for Melt teams.
Aqua Simulacra
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
44-542
CRIT DMG:
19.2%-88.2%
Increases character's health by 16%-32%. If there are nearby enemies, increases the wearer's damage by 20%-40%. The heroine needs Crit DMG in any build, so even in a sub-DD build the bow will be good. The passive works even from the pocket, so when playing in close combat the damage of the ult will increase.
Skyward Harp
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
48-674
CRIT Rate:
4.8%-22.1%
Increases critical damage by 20%-40%. When hit with a 60%-100% chance, it can inflict an additional 125% physical damage once every 4-2 sec. A good all-rounder that doesn't boost any specific skills, but has a high base attack and also increases Crit Rate and DMG.
Alley Hunter
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
44-565
ATK:
6%-27.6%
When the wielder is not on the battlefield, their damage is increased by 2%-4% per second (up to max. 20%-40%). When a character enters the battlefield, the effects disappear at the rate of 4%-8% per second A strong bow to increase both the ATK and overall damage of the hero while he is in the pocket. Keep in mind that in this case, the Secretary of Qixing should only go out to quickly press the ult.
Mouun's Moon
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
44-565
ATK:
6%-27.6%
Ultimate damage increases by 0.12%-0.24% for each point of energy of each ally. In this case, the bonus cannot exceed 40%-80%. A good option for maximizing elemental burst damage. For a bigger bonus, it is recommended to take heroes with a high ult cost in the squad.
The Stringless
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
42-510
Elemental Mastery:
36-165
Increases the damage of E and ult by 24%-48%. Gives a lot of elemental mastery and increases ability damage. Universal bow, but will be better revealed in squads through Melt.
Favonius Warbow
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base ATK:
41-454
Energy recharge:
13.3%-61.3%
Critical hits with a chance of 60%-100% restore 6 energy once every 12-6 sec. A universal support bow for restoring the energy of the group. In this case, it is worth getting Crit Rate.
The chants of the gentle wind
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Base ATK:
42-510
CRIT Rate:
6%-27,6%
Energy recovery increases by 20/25/30/35/40%. When an elemental skill or elemental burst from the equipped character hits an enemy, they gain 1 stack of Hymn of the Pure. This effect stacks up to 3 times and can occur once every 0,03 seconds. Upon reaching 3 stacks of the effect, all stacks of Hymn of the Pure are removed, activating Deadly Serpent Venom: the damage of Starfire reactions of all nearby characters in the party is increased by 24/30/36/42/48% for 12 seconds. While active, you cannot receive Hymn of the Pure. These effects occur even when the equipped character is not on the battlefield. Suitable for Starlight squads. Ganyu doesn't have her own enhanced reaction buffs, but with this bow she can still buff her allies.

You can also use weapons from the previous table, especially legendary ones, but they will perform worse in terms of damage, comfort, or the expediency of spending resources.

Optimal artifacts

Artifacts for Ganyu, as in the case of weapons, depend on the heroine's role in the squad and should provide her with the necessary characteristics.

Artifacts for a main dd

The main damage dealer role requires attack power, Cryo damage or bonuses to charged attacks. Examples of artifact sets:

NameDescriptionRecommendation
Blizzard Strayer
⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
2-Piece Bonus:
Increases Cryo damage by 15%.
4-Piece Bonus:
Attacking enemies with the Cryo effect increases your critical rate by 20%. If the enemy is frozen, the critical chance increases by another 20%.
The best set is for a mono-Cryo or Frozen squad. Together with Ice Resonance, this set allows you to get 55% Crit Rate, so if you have the Blizzard Strayer, it is recommended to gain more Crit DMG.
Wanderer's Troupe
⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
2-Piece Bonus:
Increases elemental mastery by 80.
4-Piece Bonus:
Increases the damage of charged attacks by 35%.
Unlike the previous set, this set is best revealed in Melt teams. However, if you have good stats, you can take it for other builds.
Shimenawa's Reminiscence
⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
2-Piece Bonus:
Increases ATK by 18%.
4-Piece Bonus:
When using an E, absorbs 15 energy and increases the damage of normal/charged/plunging attacks by 50% for 10 sec.
A very strong set that gives a lot of ATK, and also increases the damage of hold attacks in exchange for the frequency of ult activation. It is recommended to take a hero with Favonius in the squad to be able to cover the decrease in energy.
Retracing Bolide
⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
2-Piece Bonus: Increases shield strength by 35%.
4-Piece Bonus: While protected by a shield, increases normal and charged attack damage by 40%.
Suitable for squads with a shielder, especially if you need to increase the quality of this shield. However, in terms of pure damage, it loses to other options both in Melt and in squads through Frozen.
Marechaussee Hunter
⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
2-Piece Bonus: Increases the damage of normal and charged attacks by 15%.
4-Piece Bonus: Increases crit. 12% chance for 5 seconds when current HP increases or decreases. The effect stacks up to 3 times.
With Furina, the heroine will be able to implement this set, it will give almost the same amount of Crit Rate. However, without Furina, the set is not recommended, since the Secretary of Qixing does not have her own mechanics for stable HP change.
Gilded Dreams
⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
2 parts: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80.
4 parts: For 8 sec. after triggering an elemental reaction, depending on the elements of the allied heroes in the squad, the equipped character receives the following buffs:

  • Elemental Mastery +50 for each character with a different element.
Each of these buffs counts up to 3 characters. The effect can occur once every 8 sec. and triggers even if the wielder of the set is not on the battlefield.
A good option for playing through Melt, which will give both a lot of ATK and Elemental Mastery.
Blizzard Strayer

2-Piece Bonus:
Increases Cryo damage by 15%.

Marechaussee Hunter
Blizzard Strayer
2-Piece Bonus:

Increases ATK by 18%.

Increases Cryo damage by 15%.
In addition to energy restoration with the elemental burst damage bonus, you can combine buffs for attack power or Cryo damage.

Teams

Ganyu is a primary damage dealer who can fit into teams with reactions like Frozen or Melt, or into a mono-element team. She attacks with ice damage using charged shots, so her team requires additional sub-damage dealers to apply statuses, as well as support buffers.

Not all players are able to successfully dodge charged shots, so you can also take additional healers or shielders. Teams for Ganyu as a secondary damage dealer are built on the same principle, but in this case, another main DD should join them.

Characters with good synergy

Below we will list all the characters with whom Ganyu can play in different roles. For convenience, they are divided into different categories.

Main DPS

Heroes that deal most of the damage for the team:

CharacterElementWeaponDescription
AyakaCryoSwordCryo damage dealer who needs additional Cryo status to play through Frozen. Ganyu should apply elemental effects, distract enemies with her skill, and also buff Cryo damage.
WriothesleyCryoCatalystA Cryo Catalyst who attacks with normal and charged attacks using his fists. Like Ayaka, he needs additional Cryo status and a Cryo damage buff.
AyatoHydroSwordAyato has an ult that is almost the same size as Ganyu's ult, making these characters work well together in a party through Frozen. In addition, Ayato can quickly destroy frozen enemies with normal attacks under an elemental skill.
NeuvilletteHydroCatalystThe main Hydro damage dealer that deals huge damage with a charged attack. Needs to trigger reactions to increase damage. As in the case of Ayato, it is more convenient for him to hit frozen enemies with his skill.
Hu TaoPyroPolearmExcellent Pyro DPS with charged attacks. Melt is one of the strongest teams with Hu Tao, so Ganyu will be able to provide her with Cryo status.
DilucPyroClaymoreA standard Pyro damage dealer that attacks with normal attacks while infused. Ultimate can push enemies away. Will be able to consistently trigger Melt on Cryo status from Ganyu's elemental burst in a team with Xianyun.
KleePyroCatalystDeals damage to enemies with Pyro Bombs. She is a melee and mid-range damage dealer, therefore, in addition to Cryo status, Ganyu will be able to distract enemies from Klee to the lotus.
WandererAnemoCatalystThe Wanderer uses Anemo attacks in battle, as well as his elemental burst. His passive gives him an additional critical chance from interacting with Cryo, which Ganyu will provide the Wanderer with.
NaviaGeoClaymoreNavia is a Geo Damage dealer, increasing her damage after absorbing fragments created by the Crystallize reaction. Since Ganyu's ult covers a large area, she is able to react quickly with Navia's Geo and help her deal damage.

Secondary damage dealer

Characters that deal extra damage from the pocket:

CharacterElementWeaponDescription
RosariaCryoPolearmA universal Cryo sub-dd that will give additional status, for example, for the subsequent Swirling of Anemo by a character or for creating statues.
KaeyaCryoSwordFree sub-dd option for Ganyu. Worse than Rosaria, but performs almost the same functions, so he can be used in her absence.
XianglingPyroPolearmA secondary Pyro damage dealer that deals huge Pyro damage with his ultimate and is necessary for the squad through reverse Melt with Ganyu.
DehyaPyroClaymoreLike Xiangling, deals Pyro damage from the pocket and also absorbs some of the damage, which to some extent compensates for Ganyu's vulnerability.
MonaHydroCatalystHydro bufferusing her ult. Applies Hydro status for the Frozen reaction, but there is not too much of it, so you should remember to renew it.
FurinaHydroSwordDeals Hydro damage and buffs allies, absorbing their HP in return. Since Ganyu is initially vulnerable, it is recommended to take a healer into the squad.
KazuhaAnemoSwordPulls enemies and deals Anemo damage. With his elemental burst, absorbs elements, and is also able to do double Swirl and reduce resistance to two elements.
SucroseAnemoCatalystBudget Anemo character that pulls and Swirls. Ganyu is better suited through Melt for the elemental mastery buff.
VentiAnemoBowPulls enemies together and reduces elemental resistance. Venti's ultimate lifts enemies into the air so Ganyu can attack them unhindered.
NahidaDendroCatalystThe Cryo element itself does not interact with Dendro, but Nahida, due to her stable Dendro status, can maintain regular Burning on enemies. Her dome increases the elemental mastery of the active character, so in some teams she can work together with Ganyu as a main DD.

Supports

Support heroes that provide buffs, healing, or shields:

CharacterElementWeaponDescription
ZhongliGeoPolearmThe best support for Ganyu, providing her with almost complete invulnerability to enemy damage with the help of a shield. Also reduces enemy resistance.
ShenheCryoPolearmIncreases Cryo damage to allies depending on her attack power, and also reduces resistance to the Cryo element. This is useful for Ganyu since all her damage is Cryo.
EscoffierCryoPolearmA must-have Cryo support for classic Freeze. It heals, synergizing well with Furina, deals E damage, and reduces enemy Hydro and Cryo resistance.
LaylaCryoSwordCryo shielder, which additionally gives elemental status from the skill and ult. Useful in mono-Cryo and Frozen teams.
DionaCryoBowSimilar to Layla, but provides healing to the squad, not shields. At C6 increases elemental mastery, useful when triggering Melt.
CharlotteCryoCatalystCryo healer for elemental status and Cryo resonance. Deals additional damage from the pocket.
BennettPyroSwordA universal support that increases attack power and heals the squad. Gives Pyro a status that makes it easier to trigger Melt.
NicolePyroCatalystThe second-strongest shield build for a female hero, and the best if she's playing with Melt and Pyro Resonance. It increases attack power for the entire team and provides a strong shield that protects against charged attacks.
KokomiHydroCatalystHydro healer, great for joining a group through Frozen. Consistently applies Hydro status to create statues, but requires timing.
BarbaraHydroCatalystUnlike Kokomi, she cannot freeze enemies at a distance with her helper, and only applies Hydro status when she is close to opponents. Can be a healer if there are no alternatives.
XilonenGeoSwordIn terms of effectiveness and contribution to the squad, she is roughly on par with Zhongli. However, playing with Xilonen is less convenient due to the fact that she does not provide protection from attack interruptions.
Lan YanAnemoCatalystProvides a strong shield whose element changes depending on the effects on the enemy. Since Ganyu attacks with charged attacks, Lan Yan's elemental burst tie is very convenient for her.
MizukiAnemoCatalystMizuki can be a good fit for a Melt squad, where she will act as a healer-driver.
Water lilyHydroCatalystThanks to the automatic Hydro cast on enemies, E-class makes it easy to play with Ganyu, especially when paired with Furina. It reduces enemy Hydro and Cryo resistance.

Examples of strong teams

To develop the talents, you will need the following resources:

  • Teachings, guides and philosophies of Diligence - obtained in the dungeon Taishan Mansion in Tuesday, Friday и Sunday.
  • Nectars dropped by Whopperflowers.
  • Shadow of the Warrior - rare resource from the weekly boss Childe.
  • Crown of Insight - an item for leveling talents up to 10.
  • 1 653 000 Mora.

Skills

Ganyu is a Cryo archer capable of dealing massive area damage. Her charged shots have two charge levels, and on the second of them they attack in an area. Her Elemental Skill Allows her to retreat from enemies and create a flower that attracts enemies to itself. Her Elemental burst covers a large area, attacks enemies and increases the cryo damage of characters in its area of effect.

Basic (Active) Skills

Next, we will look at all the skills in more detail and tell you in what order they need to be leveled. In addition, we will analyze the character's passives and constellations, separately highlighting those that should be given special attention.

Liutian Archery

Source of damage: ATK.

Normal attack: fires up to six quick shots with a bow.

Charged Attack: charges the arrow with a Cryo element and fires an aimed shot. This ability has two charge levels.

Level 1: Fires an arrow that deals Cryo damage to one target.

Level 2: Fires a snowflake arrow that deals Ice damage, then blooms and attacks with Cryo in an area again.

Plunging Attack: Drops to the ground and fires multiple arrows that attack in an area upon landing.

Trail of the Qilin

Source of damage: ATK.

Duration: 6 seconds

Cooldown: 10 seconds

Jumps away from enemies and places an Ice Lotus that deals Cryo damage around it.

Ice Lotus: distracts the attention of enemies, and after it's destroyed of expired, attacks with Cryo damage. The HP of the lotus depends on Ganyu's max. health. If you use the Sacrificial Bow , it is possible to create two flowers.

Celestial Shower

Source of damage: ATK.

Duration: 15 seconds

Cooldown: 15 seconds

Enegry consumption: 60.

Summons a Sacred Cryo Pearl that creates a large field around Ganyu. Within the field, enemies periodically receive Cryo damage from falling ice shards over a period of time.

Please note that the elemental burst has a snapshot mechanic, that is, it takes into account the character’s stats that she had at the time the ability was activated. Therefore, it is advisable to use buffers before Ganyu's elemental burst, since their enhancements, if applied after activating the ult, will not affect its damage.

Talent Leveling Order

In the game, the general secretary of the Liyue Qixing is capable of playing the role of both a primary damage dealer with charged shots and a support character with the help of her ult.

Main damage dealer: Normal Attacks > Elemental Burst (Q) > Elemental Skill (E).

In the first case, you need to level up basic attacks to maximum, and then pay attention to elemental burst and elemental skill.

Sub-dd: Elemental Burst > Elemental Skill (E) > Normal Attacks.

If the heroine is a sub-DD, she doesn't really need regular attacks, so you don't need to invest in them. The ult needs to be leveled up to the maximum, and E can be upgraded to level 6-8 if desired.

Passive Skills

Ganyu's Passive Abilities:

Set aside for the hunt

When forging bow-type weapons, returns 15% of the ore spent.

Undivided heart

Within 5 sec. after firing a snowflake arrow, increases the critical chance of snowflake arrows and the damage of their blooms by 20%.

Harmony between Heaven and Earth

Allies inside the ultimate's area receive a 20% Cryo damage bonus.

Constellations

Name The effect
1. Dew-Drinker Hitting with a Snowflake Arrow at full charge or when it blooms reduces enemies' Cryo Resistance by 15% for 6 sec and restores 2 energy. Each fully charged shot can only restore energy once.
2. The Auspicious Increases the number of elemental skill charges by 1.
3. Cloud-Strider Increases elemental burst level by 3. Max. level: 15.
4. Westward Sojourn Increases damage to enemies within the ultimate's area. This effect increases over time, starting at 5% and increasing by 5% every 3 seconds, to a maximum of 25%. If the enemy leaves the elemental burst area, the effect remains on them for another 3 seconds.
5. The Merciful Increases elemental skill level by 3. Max. level: 15.
6. The Clement After using the E, the next snowflake arrow shot can be fired without charging.

Ganyu's best constellations are С1, С4 and С6.

  • The first constellation Reduces enemy resistance to Cryo and restores energy. Excellent const for both increasing your own damage and for additional buffing of allies when playing in a mono-Cryo squad.
  • The fourth constellation is pretty good for Ganyu, who plays in squads through the Frozen reaction, where enemies are frozen in one place, due to which they will not be able to leave the ultimate zone. This will allow you to freely deal increased damage to them.
  • The sixth constellation is the strongest for the role of the main damage dealer. It allows you to skip the charging time of the snowflake arrow (the second charge level) every time after using an elemental skill and immediately shoot at enemies. If you add this up with the second constellation, which gives a second charge of E, and if used correctly, the constant will allow you to inflict huge damage in a short time.

How to play Ganyu

Ganyu's abilities allow her to be both a primary damage dealer and a secondary one who attacks from the pocket. In the former case, her damage is based on charged shots. Since she is quite vulnerable while shooting, use her E to create a lotus and distract enemies.

Don't forget to charge your shots to level XNUMX to summon snowflake arrows. You can tell how charged your attack is by the glow of the Cryo Aura around the arrow. The elemental burst increases the ice damage of all allies inside the area, including the character herself. Keep this in mind when rotating this character and others.

When playing in Frozen squads, make sure that the enemies have elemental status and are frozen into statues. Do not attack enemies with a Qilin without these conditions, as you will not receive additional crit chance.

Character rotation varies depending on the role in the squad.

Main-DD rotation

Skill Order:

E (elemental skill) > Q (elemental burst) > E (after using the skills of all allies) > Charged attacks.

The main DD rotation is easy to use, since it deals most of the damage with charged attacks, and the rest of the abilities are used on cooldown for additional status and reactions. The rotation looks like this:

  1. Use Ganyu's E to restore energy, then activate her elemental burst to apply Cryo effect to enemies.
  2. Switch to supports and max out their abilities.
  3. Return to the heroine and hit with charged attacks while the buffs are active.
  4. Repeat starting from step one as your abilities cool down.

Sub-DD rotation

Skill Order:

E (elemental skill) > Q (elemental burst).

When playing as a sub-DD, she does not use charged shots or uses them very rarely. Her main job is to activate her ult and elemental skill on cooldown to support the main damage dealer.

  1. Switch to supports and activate their skills. Since Ganyu's ultimate has a snapshot mechanic, it is important to use their boosts before pressing elemental burst.
  2. Use the character's skills to place the lotus and the ultimate field. Note that if you need to absorb the ice element, her abilities should be used after the other supports, but before the Anemo character.
  3. Switch to the main damage dealer and deal damage to enemies.
  4. Repeat from the first step as the abilities cool down.

Is The Character Worth Pulling?

Ganyu is an excellent 5-star character in Genshin Impact, able to fill both the primary and secondary damage roles in a team. In the primary role, she's a full-fledged Cryo main damage dealer, attacking from long and medium range with charged shots. Her snowflake arrows deal massive damage, but they also leave her highly vulnerable to enemy attacks, which she may not be able to dodge in time.

In the second case, the heroine enters the battlefield only for a few moments to place the ult field and summon a lotus with her elemental skill to distract the opponents. This style of play reduces the damage dealt by the hero, but allows you to put her in many groups that need an additional cryo effect for reactions.

Please tell me. Is this squad suitable for Ganyu: Ganyu, Escavier, Furina, and Sitlali? Please advise who to take. I don't have any Anemo SUPs. Ganyu is a C1 with a R2 Amos Bow. They say she needs Kazuha or Venti in her squad?

Now, any explanation as to why she dropped to B rank? I don't understand why Escoffier doesn't exist? At least raise her to A, have some respect for the goat.

I agree. You could have written B without Escoffier, A with Escoffier. (I'll be making a cook especially for my favorite goat.)
