Tartaglia in Genshin Impact: Best Build and Team Guide

Guide to the Eleventh Harbinger: How to Play in Stances, Pick a Weapon, and Choose a Strong Team.

Harbinger Tartaglia Releases Blades

In Genshin impact, Archer Tartaglia belongs to the Hydro element and has a special stance where he transforms his weapons into daggers. His ultimate has two different formats with their own special mechanics, which makes the young man one of the most diverse characters in terms of gameplay.

Unlike most main damage dealers, he does not trigger reactions on his own, but rather provides a stable status for reactions triggered by sub-DDs. For this reason, he rarely plays in hyper-carry groups, preferring not high personal damage, but the total damage from the entire squad.

How to Get the Character

Tartaglia's banner in "Thoughts of Jade and Stone"

Tartaglia's last rerun took place in the Chronicled Wish, January 21 to February 11, 2025, in the 5.3 update. Constellations are unlocked by getting copies of the character.

For the schedule of new heroes and reruns, follow our banner schedule.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Like other characters, he has his own strengths and weaknesses, which are important to understand before building Tartaglia for a particular squad.

Strengths

Weaknesses

Unique gameplay that allows you to alternate between melee and range stance. It is necessary to learn to be in the stance for a certain amount of time in order to control the cooldown of the skill.
The explosive damage of the ult allows you to destroy most of the enemy's health in a few seconds, which speeds up timed battles. Comfortable gameplay without worrying about cooldowns is only possible with constellations.
Not picky about artifacts and weapons, plays well even with ftp equipment in most teams and builds. To build into a hyper-carry without additional damage dealers, you need extremely strong weapons, artifacts and supports.
Has a Hydro element that can be combined with any other elements and create a variety of teams.
Due to the ability to hit with Hydro charged shots out of stance, does not require a second companion of this element in the squad to Swirl.

The Best Tartaglia Builds in Genshin Impact

Tartaglia and Piro Agent Fatui at the door

The Harbinger spends most of his time on the field, fighting enemies with his skills. His ultimate can deal massive instant damage, removing a significant portion of enemy HP. Thanks to his ability mechanics, as well as the Hydro element, he is a very flexible companion and easily fits into various squads.

Recommended Stats

All Tartaglia builds require a proper balance of crit chance and crit damage, since the hero does not get these stats with ascension, and this must be compensated for. ATK is also extremely useful, but if there are buffers in the team, a small amount of this stat is not critical. EM will significantly increase the damage of the ult and some strikes in the stance when playing with Pyro heroes, and energy recovery will allow you to press the elemental burst more often, but you should not specifically go for these characteristics.

Recommended values:

  • ATK: about 1600-2100.
  • CRIT Rate/DMG should be in a ratio of 1:2 (for example, 60 Crit rate and 120 Crit DMG). Since a significant part of the damage comes from the ult, which is launched at the very beginning of the battle, it is acceptable for it to have 55-60% crit. chance. But ideally, it is worth striving for 75-80% for comfortable play and stable damage from normal and charged attacks.
  • Energy recharge: about 120-140% depending on the presence of a second Hydro in the squad.
  • Elemental Mastery: 100-250 EM will significantly increase the damage from the ult when playing in Vaporize teams. If you have Bennett in your team, you can use EM clock, or gain this characteristic with artifact substats if possible.

Weapon Tier List

The weapon should fully cover the needs for certain characteristics and simplify the selection of artifacts. Choose bows with the following stats:

  • Crit. Damage/Crit. Chance. Priority option that increases the damage significantly.
  • ATK. They will perform best in teams without Bennett, heroes with buffer weapons and sets or Pyro Resonance.

The table below shows the best equipment options.

Name Description Recommendation
Polar Star
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Base stat:
46-608
Crit Rate:
7,2-33,1%
Elemental Skill and Elemental burst damage is 12-24% higher. Each time a normal, charged, elemental or ultimate attack hits the target, 1 level of the Ashen Nightstar effect is accumulated. Charge duration - 12 seconds. When accumulating 1-4 levels, the character's attack power increases by 10(20)/20(40)/30(60)/48(96)% respectively. Charges exist independently of each other. Tartaglia's signature weapon fits perfectly with his mechanics and gameplay, and also provides useful buffs. In terms of overall dps and effectiveness, the weapon is top 1. At the same time, it is quite versatile due to the passive effect that any primary and secondary damage archer can implement.
Aqua Simulacra
Aqua Simulacra
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Base stat:
44-542
CRIT DMG:
19,2-88,2%
Increases HP by 16%-32%. If there are enemies near a hero equipped with this bow, the damage is increased by 20%-40%, even if he is not on the battlefield. One of the best bows. In some situations, it can win in convenience. It grants a huge amount of Crit DMG, but requires the presence of an ATK buffer in the team.
Thundering Pulse
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Base stat:
46-608
CRIT DMG:
14.4-66.2%
Increases attack power by 20-40% and grants Thunder Emblem, which has 3 levels. Each level increases damage by 12-24%, 24-48%, 40-80%. An archer gains 1 emblem level in three cases:
  • On hit with a normal attack (lasts 5 seconds).
  • When you turn on the elemental skill (valid for 10 seconds).
  • When the character's elemental energy is below 100%. If it is restored completely, then the emblem will disappear.

The duration of each level is calculated separately.

High base, lots of Crit DMG, useful bonuses. However, it is inferior to the previous ones, even if all 3 stacks are gained, although only by a few percent.
Skyward Harp

Skyward Harp
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Base stat:
48-674
Crit Rate:
4,8-22,1%

Critical damage is increased by 20-40%. On hit, it has a 60-100% chance to deal 125% physical damage in a small area. The effect occurs every 4 seconds. It will help balance crits, give a boost to both normal and charged hits, as well as to the ult.
The First Great Magic
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Base stat:
46 ~ 608
Critical Damage:
14.4% ~ 66.2%
Increases the damage of a charged attack by 16 %. Provides 1 level of Gimmick for each character of the same element in the squad as the equipped character (including the equipped character). For each character in a squad with a different element, grants 1 level of Theatrics. When the character has 1/2/3 and more levels of Gimmick, attack power is increased by 16% / 32% / 48%. If they have 1/2/3 and more levels of Theatrics , their movement speed is increased by 4% / 7% / 10%. Suitable for games with an emphasis on using charged strikes, such as a set Wanderer's Troupe. There is no need to specifically pull for the weapon, but due to Crit DMG in stats and ATK, it will show itself well in the absence of legendary alternatives.
Astral Vulture's Crimson Plumage
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Base stat:
46-608
CRIT DMG:
14.4%-66.2%
Increases attack power by 24%-48% for 12 sec after activating the Swirl reaction. If the party has 1/2 or more characters with other elements, the damage of the wielder's charged attacks increases by 20%-40%/48%-96%, and their ult damage by 10%-20%/24%-48%. Since the Harbinger almost always plays with characters of other elements, he easily implements the second part of the passive. However, not all players often use charged ones, so sometimes only the ultimate will receive a bonus, which is less valuable.
Amos’ Bow
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Base stat:
46-608
ATK:
10,8-49,6%
Increases normal and charged attack damage by 12-24%. Every 0.1 sec. arrow flight increase its damage by 8-16%. This effect stacks up to 5 times. The weakest of the legendary bows, but no less effective. Gives a huge boost to ATK, looks good in a team without buffers for this stat.
The Viridescent Hunt
The Viridescent Hunt
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Base stat:
42-510
Crit Rate:
6-27,6%
A normal or charged attack has a 50% chance to create a cyclone that pulls enemies in and deals 40-80% damage over 0,5 seconds. Wind holds targets for 4 seconds. The effect can activate once every 14-10 seconds. A pretty good bow, which at R1 is inferior in "pure" damage (i.e. without taking into account artifacts, buffs) only to the R5 Prototype with a working passive effect. Has built-in control.
Rust

Rust
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Base stat:
42-506
ATK:
9-41,3%

Increases the damage of a normal attack by 40-80%, but reduces the damage of a charged one by 10%. A stable variant that significantly enhances normal attacks in Tartaglia's stance and provides a good ATK boost. It is especially useful at R5.
Range Gauge
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Base stat:
44-565
ATK:
6,0-27,6%
When an equipped character heals or receives healing, he will be healed for 30 seconds. is endowed with the Unity's Symbol. You can get up to 3 Symbols in total. When an elemental skill or elemental burst is activated, all Symbols are consumed for 10 sec. the effect of Struggle is created: for each Symbol spent, attack power increases by 3-7%, and the damage bonus with all elements is by 7-13%. The Struggle effect can occur once every 15 sec. The character receives Unity's Symbols even if he is not on the battlefield. A strong option that works due to the passive, for the implementation of which a healer is needed in the squad. Many packs have Adventurer Bennett, but you need to follow a certain timing with him: get healed twice and only then perform skills.
Song of Stillness (F2P)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Base stat:
42-510
ATK:
9-41,3%
Damage after being healed is increased by 16-32% for 8 sec. The effect works even when the character is not on the battlefield. Crafted alternative to the weapon above with a bias towards high ATK. Activating the passive effect is a bit easier, but the same principle of playing with Bennett applies to the weapon.
Prototype Crescent
Prototype Crescent
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Base stat:
42-506
ATK:
9-41,3%
A well-aimed hit on an enemy's weak spot grants +10% movement speed and 36-72% attack power for 10 seconds. An affordable option that can be crafted for free from the start of the game. On R1 it will solve many problems of the archer, if there are no other alternatives.
Ibis Piercer
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
Base stat:
44 ~ 565
ATK:
6% ~ 27,6%
When a charged attack hits a target, increases elemental mastery by 40/50/60/70/80 for 6 sec. This effect can stack up to 2 times and occurs every 0,5 sec. A great option if you have a bow. The passive ability will trigger from charged strikes in a stance, so Tartaglia will be able to activate it without any problems and get the buff.
Hamayumi
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Base stat:
42-510
ATK:
12-55,1%
The damage of normal attacks is increased by 16-32%, and that of charged attacks by 12-24%. When the elemental energy gauge is full, the power of the passive effect is increased by 100%. In terms of total damage, it loses to all previous bows. But one way or another, this is a fairly stable option that works without any conditions. It can be crafted for free, so in the absence of previous weapons (or lack of desire to look for weaknesses in opponents with the Prototype), it will be a good choice.

You can see the full range of available equipment at weapon tier list.

Choosing Artifacts

Artifacts for Tartaglia, like weapons, should ideally match the characteristics, and also help increase the outgoing damage. Both elemental and ATK options are suitable. All suitable options can be found in the table below.

NameDescriptionRecommendation
Nymph's Dream

2 Piece:
15% bonus to Hydro damage.
4 Piece:
When hitting an enemy with a normal, charged, plunging attack, E or ult, grants 1 level of Mirrored Nymph. With 1/2/3 levels of Mirrored Nymph, attack power is increased by 7%/16%/25%, and Hydro damage is increased by 4%/9%/15%. All levels exist independently of each other.
The best artifact set, as it not only gives a bonus to Hydro, but also ATK, which is especially valuable in squads without Bennett. In addition, the Harbinger can easily stack all 3 levels of Nymph Reflection and take the maximum level of the buff.
Heart of Depth

2 Piece:
15% bonus to Hydro damage.
4 Piece:
Increases normal and charged attack damage by 30% after using an elemental skill for 15 seconds.
Another great set that gives a buff to elemental, as well as normal and charged attacks after activating E. The duration of the buff is perfect for the stance, allowing you to stay in it for the optimal amount of time.
Emblem of Severed Fate

2 Piece: Energy recovery +20%
4 Piece: Increases elemental burst damage by an amount equal to 25% of ER. Max bonus is 75%.
The best choice for buffing elemental burst damage. It is better to take EM clock, and in the allies - Bennett to get the perfect balance of affix, EM and ATK. Energy recovery clock is not recommended.
Gilded Dreams

2 Piece: Elemental Mastery +80 points.
4 Piece: After triggering an elemental reaction, the character receives a buff for 8 seconds. For each hero of their element in the squad, they get 14% attack power, and for each character of a different element - +50 elemental mastery. The effect works no more than once every 1 seconds and can appear even if the wielder of the set is not on the battlefield.
Suitable for playing in teams with Pyro and Electro heroes. Due to the fact that the young man can react with every third strike in a stance, he easily activates the effect.
Wanderer's Troupe

2 Piece: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80.
4 Piece: Increases the damage of a charged attack by 35% if the character uses a catalyst or ranged weapons.
Suitable for increasing the damage from the ult and charged strikes. For full implementation, the team must have Xiangling, so that the Harbinger can regularly hit the Pyro status. It is also advisable to change the rotation for a larger number of charged strikes. However, in the future, it is advisable to replace this set with one of the options above.
Retracing Bolide

2 Piece:
Increases shield strength by 35%.
4 Piece:
While protected by a shield, increases normal and charged attack damage by 40%.
An alternative option that will suit a young man, provided that he plays with a shielder in the squad. Without a shielder, this set is not usable.
Nymph's Dream/Heart of Depth + Noblesse Oblige

2 Piece:
15% bonus to Hydro damage.
2 Piece:
Increases elemental burst damage by 20%.
A 2+2 set with two pieces of any Hydro set and two pieces of the Noblesse. Works well for the Harbinger, who is played as an ult user.
Nymph's Dream/Heart of Depth + Marechaussee Hunter
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
2 Piece:
15% bonus to Hydro damage.
2 parts:
Increases normal and charged attack damage by 15%.
A two-pack combo for maximum damage when playing in the melee stance.
Nymph's Dream/Heart of Depth + Gladiator’s Finale/Shimenawa's Reminiscence/Echoes of an Offering/Vermillion Hereafter

2 Piece:
15% bonus to Hydro damage.
2 Piece:
Increases attack power by 18%.
Another mix of artifacts, which is more versatile due to the ATK bonus.
Martial Artist

2 Piece:
Increases normal and charged attack damage by 15%.
4 Piece:
Increases normal and charged attack damage by 25% for 8 seconds. after using an elemental skill.
A good option for beginners at first. Since the buff from four parts has a limit of 8 seconds, you will have to accurately count the time, which will give you the opportunity to learn to understand the timing of skills.

Keep in mind that good stats in artifacts are more important to the young man than entire sets, since his damage is concentrated in several skills. If you can't get a set with high-quality stats, use a XNUMX+XNUMX mix, which will bring more benefit and larger damage increase.

Teams

The Harbinger synergizes well with many characters, but since he is a primary damage dealer, he requires sub-DDs and supports in his team. In addition, due to the E cooldown mechanic, pocket damage dealers must have long-lasting skills with a large amount of elemental status to maintain it throughout the battle.

The hero has a Hydro element that reacts well with other elements and triggers reactions, so companions that give a buff to EM are very useful for him. Anemo allies are also useful, they can Swirl the Hydro status and reduce the resistance of enemies.

Optimal characters

The tables below shows all the companions that are suitable for Tartaglia's teams.

Secondary damage dealer

Heroes that hit from the pocket and also restore energy:

CharacterElementWeaponEffects
Xiangling XianglingPyro PyroPolearmPocket Pyro damage dealer that deals massive amounts of damage over Hydro.
FischlFischlElectroElectroBowDeals damage from off-field with her E, synergizes well with the Harbinger. Works well even on C0, but C6 makes her even better due to additional hits.
Beidou BeidouElectroElectroClaymoreHer ult deals huge Electro damage, and her E at C1 increases the squad's survivability.
BaalRaidenElectroElectroPolearmAllows for combined Electro strikes to trigger a Charged reaction outside of combat. Additionally, can replace the Harbinger on the battlefield while his stance is on cooldown.
IneffaElectroElectroPolearmA legendary support for Lunar Charge. It boosts this reaction, creates a shield, and acts as a pocket damage dealer.
Yae MikoYae MikoElectroElectroCatalyst:A secondary damage dealer with a large amount of Electro status and passive damage. Elemental skill totems can remain in battle for up to 14 seconds, which roughly coincides with the hero's stance time in his rotations.
ColumbinaHydroHydroCatalyst:Changes the classic Charged reaction to Lunar Charge. Works best when paired with Ineffa.
Xingqiu XingqiuHydroHydroOne-handed swordProvides resonance and huge damage from the pocket, and also increases the squad's survivability.
YelanYelanHydroHydroBowLots of Hydro status and a buff with a universal affix.
FurinaHydroHydroOne-handed swordDepending on Pneumusia, heals or deals damage from the pocket. Buffs the team with her ult.
Ganyu GanyuCryo CryoBowCryo damage dealer, which, in a team with Tartaglia, uses her burst, helping to freeze enemies.
RosariaCryo CryoPolearmAn alternative to Ganyu of epic rarity. Also deals damage with Cryo from the pocket, but additionally increases the crit chance of allies.
ColleiDendroBowThe ult does not last very long (only 9 seconds), but it is enough for Tartaglia's stance.
NahidaDendroCatalyst:Buffs elemental mastery, deals passive damage. Will perfectly complement a squad with Pyro and Electro heroes.

Supports

Allies focused on full support through healing, shields, or various useful buffs:

CharacterElementWeaponEffects
KazuhaAnemoAnemoOne-handed swordIncreases Hydro damage, groups enemies and reduces their elemental resistance.
Sucrose SucroseAnemo AnemoCatalyst:Grants control over enemies and increased elemental mastery. Particularly relevant in teams through the reaction of Vaporize, where she can compete with Kazuha, especially if she has her C6.
Venti VentiAnemo AnemoBowThe actual best control in the game with the most powerful elemental burst. Restores energy to allies through his passive talent.
CitlaliCryoCatalyst:Citlali reduces resistance to Pyro and Hydro, and the Harbinger often plays with Pyro damage dealers, so Citlali will come in handy.
KokomiKokomiHydroHydroCatalyst:Permanent Healing and Hydro Resonance.
CandaceHydroHydroPolearmIncreases basic attack damage.
Bennett BennettPyro PyroOne-handed swordHis Elemental burst heals the entire squad and also gives a huge bonus to ATK. Can apply Pyro status to the enemy for increased damage with the Harbinger's ult.
NicolePyroPyroCatalyst:The best support hero, who will boost both the hero and their allies. He maintains the squad's survivability and, unlike Bennett, doesn't restrict movement around the battlefield to increase attack power.
ThomaPyro PyroPolearmGives a shield, the strength of which depends on the use of normal attacks. A nice bonus will be small Pyro tics, allowing you trigger Vaporize and apply elemental status to enemies.
Yun JinYun JinGeo GeoPolearmWith her ult, boosts normal attacks depending on the defense stat. At C2 and C6, will increase damage and combat speed. Can wear the Archaic Petra, buffing Hydro.
Zhongli ZhongliGeo GeoPolearmPossesses the strongest shield in the game and reduces the resistance of nearby enemies.
Diona DionaCryo CryoBowShields and healing. Increases Elemental Mastery at C6.

Strong teams

Sucrose
A variation of Lunar Charge. While matching skill cooldowns without C1 can be difficult, this variant is stronger than the groups from Charged Reaction and justifies the somewhat awkward gameplay. A good option if you don't have an Anemo character. The Cryo hero acts as a sub-DD, turning the team into a squad from the Melt reaction: Tartaglia and the Cryo damage dealer freeze opponents, and Xiangling melts the ice with her ult. But it's worth considering that this composition works extremely poorly against bosses and enemies that cannot be frozen. Citlali is a much higher priority, you can do without her, although the result will be worse.

The combination of Nahida and the Pyro hero (and Kazuha's Pyro-colored ult) maintains a constant Burning status on enemies. Sucrose is only acceptable as a replacement if she's able to use her Elemental Burst on cooldown.

Talents

Table of materials for increasing the level of Tartaglia's talents

Source: https://genshin.honeyhunterworld.com

To upgrade the talents, you need the following materials:

Skills

Tartaglia's skill set often causes some players trouble due to its variety. He hits with a Hydro elemental skill, switching stances from melee to long range. The E's cooldown is directly dependent on how much time he spent in melee. In addition, his hits mark enemies and allow him to hit in an area, which is very effective when playing through reactions. His Elemental Burstn deals a huge instant blow to enemies, and is also connected to the marks system.

Basic (Active) Skills

Next, we will explore Tartaglia's abilities in more detail, and also tell you in what order they need to be upgraded.

Cutting Torrent

Performs up to six bow shots with a normal attack.

Charged Shot concentrates Hydro at the end of the arrow, inflicting the Riptide status on opponents.

  • Riptide: Tartaglia's attacks on an enemy with this status deal area damage.
  • Riptide Flash: Charged attack targeting an enemy with the Riptide status causes an area-of-effect strikes once every 0.7 seconds.
  • Riptide Burst: When an enemy with the Riptide status is defeated, a Hydro burst is generated that applies the Riptide status to surrounding enemies.

Plunging Attack: Fires a hail of arrows in an area upon landing. In melee stance, he can not perform a Plunging attack.

Foul Legacy: Raging Tide

  • Max. duration: 30 sec.
  • Cooldown: 6-36 sec.
  • Max. Cooldown: 45 sec

Switches from the ranged stance to the meele stance, in which the character replaces the bow with twin blades charged with the Hydro element. The infusion is strong and cannot be changed by other companions' skills. The strikes are also changed.

  • Riptide Slash: When hitting enemies with Riptide status in melee, causes Riptide Slash, which hits an area. Riptide Slash has an elemental skill damage and occurs once every 1.5 seconds.

You can return to the ranged stance after 30 seconds or when the skill is reactivated. In this case, the cooldown time increases depending on the time spent in the stance.

Charged and normal attacks in a stance are considered charged and normal attacks, so the hero is affected by the passive effects of bows that buff this type of damage.

Havoc: Obliteration

  • Cooldown: 15 sec.
  • Energy consumption: 60.

Performs a powerful Hydro Strike, type of which depends on the stance used.

Ranged Stance: Flash of Havoc: Fires an area-of-effect arrow that inflicts the Riptide status on enemies. The ultimate also restores 20 energy.

Melee Stance: Light of Obliteration: Performs a blade strike, damaging enemies around him and inflicting the Riptide status on them.

Riptide Blast: When hitting enemies with the Riptide status, removes the status and causes explosions that deal Hydro in an area. Riptide Blast's damage is considered an ultimate.

Passive Skills

Talent The effect
Master of Weaponry Increases the normal attack level by 1. The effect affects all characters in the squad.
Never Ending Increases the duration of the Riptide status by 8 seconds.
Sword of Torrents While in the melee stance of Foul Legacy: Raging Tide, the enemy is automatically inflicted with the Riptide status if they were attacked by critical normal attacks or charged attacks.

Talent Leveling Order

Elemental Skill = Elemental Burst > Normal Attacks

The Harbinger's main buttons are the elemental skill and the ultimate. They need to be upgraded side-by-side to level 6. Then you should focus first on the skill, and then on the ultimate. It is advisable to upgrade both skills to level 9-10 to get maximum increase in damage. Normal attacks can be upgraded to level 6 so as not to lose damage from the Riptide Slash, but it is not necessary to maximize them.

Constellations

Name The effect
1. Foul Legacy: Tide Withholder Reduces the cooldown of Foul Legacy: Raging Tide by 20%.
2. Foul Legacy: Understream When enemies with the Riptide status are defeated, Tartaglia restores 4 elemental energy.
3. Abyssal Mayhem: Vortex of Turmoil Increases the level of the Foul Legacy: Raging Tide (elemental skill) skill by 3.
Max. Lvl: 15
4. Abyssal Mayhem: Hydrospout When Tartaglia is in the Foul Legacy: Raging Tide's Melee Stance, enemies with the Riptide status are damaged by Riptide Slash every 4 seconds. Otherwise, Riptide Burst is triggered. Riptide Slash and Ebb Burst caused by this constellation are not affected by their normal duration limitations, and have no effects during these time periods.
5. Havoc: Formless Blade Increases the skill level of Havoc: Obliteration (Elemental Burst) by 3.
Max. Lvl: 15
6. Havoc: Annihilation Activating Havoc: Obliteration resets the cooldown of Foul Legacy: Raging Tide. This effect only triggers when Tartaglia returns to ranged stance.

Tartaglia's best constellations are С1, С4 and С6.

  • The first constellation significantly reduces the cooldown of the elemental skill, which allows you to activate it more often and stay in the stance longer. This constellation is the best and most comfortable for playing Tartaglia, since his main problem is exactly the ability's cooldown.
  • The fourth constellation significantly increases Tartaglia's damage, as it strengthens his marks, automatically detonates them on enemies, and removes the limitation on their duration of use. Overall damage is increased by approximately 30%.
  • The sixth constellation resets the cooldown of the elemental skill after activating the ult, allowing you to play without worrying about the stance cooldown. However, in this case, it is important to provide Tartaglia with energy to activate the ult every cycle.

How to play Tartaglia

The basis of playing the Harbinger is understanding how his stance works. His elemental skill cannot be used until the end, it is recommended to be in melee range no longer than 8-13 sec., to keep the cooldown duration within normal limits. The duration of most buffs from supports will help you keep track of this at the beginning of the game - switch immediately after the buffs fade to use the battle time effectively and efficiently.

The second important gameplay moment is the Riptide status on enemies. Hit enemies with critical attacks in close combat to apply Riptide to them. Hits over marks will inflict Hydro in an area.

Try to alternate normal attacks with charged ones to minimize the stamina drain. The optimal cycle consists of two or three normal + charged attacks, and then you need to interrupt the animation with a jump or dash.

Rotation

Let's look at the order of actions when playing in a full squad with sub-dds and supports:

  1. Use elemental skill to inflict Hydro status on enemies, hit 1-2 times with a basic attack.
  2. Switch to supports and sub-DDs. Use their skills and ults to distribute buffs and apply status from the pocket. If there is a Pyro character in the team, the last action is to apply their element to the enemy, so that Childe activates the reaction of Vaporize.
  3. Return to the Harbinger and activate his ultimate. Depending on the situation, you can use either the melee or ranged version. When hitting in melee and having Pyro on the enemy, do not use the young man's other skills before this, so as not to interfere with the status. After this, strike with normal and charged attacks in melee for 8-13 seconds until the allies' effects fade, and then turn the ult off.
  4. Repeat starting with step two.

Is the Character Worth Pulling For?

Tartaglia in winter clothes

Tartaglia synergizes well with a wide range of heroes in Genshin Impact, and his strongest squad consists of two free heroes. A huge selection of suitable bows makes him one of the most beginner-friendly heroes in terms of equipment and development.

However, the Harbinger has complex mechanics that require some getting used to and time to understand, making him a perfect character for those who enjoy varied gameplay and a certain amount of difficulty during combat, but are unable to invest heavily in heroes.

C1 or signature weapon

The first constellation is significantly different in that it does not increase his own damage or allies, but is aimed solely at the comfort of the game. For this reason, if the desire to take C1 is dictated only by damage buffs, it is definitely not worth spending wishes on it. However, he also does not really need a signature, which makes the choice ambiguous.

  • Availability С1 Reduces the cooldown duration in the stance by an average of 2-4 seconds. This is a small difference and almost imperceptible if you do not play the hero constantly. However, if you are maining this character and do not plan to change him to another companion in the coming months, for your own comfort it is worth spending wishes on the const. Reducing the cooldown of the stance by 2-4 seconds will help to better synchronize the cooldown of skills with other heroes.
  • Childe's unique feature is that he hits with both basic attacks and elemental bursts, making him one of the most gear-friendly characters, as he can benefit from almost any weapon buff. Tartaglia's signature is worth taking only if there are no other alternative weapons. The Signature is better than other legendary options by only 5-10%, which is generally not worth the wishes, especially considering that not all the damage in Childe's team comes from him.

Character history and lore

According to the plot, the young man is the eleventh Harbinger of Fatui, also known as Childe. Despite his friendly appearance, one must always remain on guard with him due to his rather ambiguous character. In the service of the Queen, the hero occupies the position of Vanguard, who is sent on the most difficult missions, often taking place far from Snezhnaya.

I have a team plan: Tartaglia/Kazuha/Durin/Bennett. But I'm considering replacing Kazuha with Zhongli. Could you please tell me which of them would be better (Kazuha or Zhongli)?
