Blizzard has officially announced the release of their projects in the Steam digital store. The company noted that many gamers have long dreamed of playing their favorite series of games through the platform from Valve, and now their dream will come true. Previously, almost all projects from the famous "blizzard" were available only through Battle.net, however, we are not talking about closing the launcher - its support will continue.
Overwatch 2 - the first game from Blizzard, which appeared on Steam: it will be possible to play a first-person hero shooter through the launcher from Valve 10 August 2023 year. Special achievements will appear in the game, and gamers will have access to standard features that other multiplayer projects on Steam have. However, in order to play Overwatch 2, you will still have to create a Battle.net account, and then link it to your Steam profile.

In addition to the news, the head of Blizzard, Mike Ibbara, stated that he was very pleased to cooperate with Valve Corporation. Gabe Newell also spoke out and wrote that the addition of Overwatch 2 to Steam is good news for developers and casual gamers alike. At the moment, it is not known what other Blizzard Entertainment projects will appear on Steam, but the company assured that fans should wait for the next announcements.
