New key positions and patrols. The developers seriously decided to strike a balance in some areas.
Hello tankers! Wotpack is with you and changes on game maps are on the agenda today. Let's see what will change with the release of patch 1.10.1 in World of Tanks.
General changes
For four maps, the "Encounter Battle" mode has been added:
- "Karelia"
- "Westfield"
- "Student girls"
- "Industrial zone"
Four more cards have undergone balance changes:
- "Berlin"
- Ruinberg
- "Erlenberg"
- "Westfield"
And bugs were fixed on five more maps:
- "Sand River"
- "Quiet Beach"
- "Redshire"
- "Area 404"
- "Arzagir 4.04"
Special attention deserves the moment that the developers at the same time decided a little change the mechanics of projectiles when colliding with vehicles (there are many of them in the game: planes, tractors, cars, etc.). Now they completely absorb only land mines (HESH shells including) and cumulatives, and for armor-piercing and sub-caliber, armor penetration is reduced.
Now let's take a closer look at the card rebalance.
Berlin
The new map, introduced into the game a few months ago, became a stumbling block for many players. Based on feedback, the developers have already identified several areas that need to be fixed. These balance changes should equalize the team's chances of winning and make the game more fair.
- Moved some debris that can be used as a shelter.

- To simplify the gameplay, the lower zone has been redesigned. Now it should give players more options for tactical maneuvers. The shape of the building was changed, and fire was added in the neighboring windows.

- The terrain has been leveled, so now tanks with mediocre vertical declination angles will become a little more comfortable to play.

- More reinforcement will not block the view, but now there is no cover in the corner. However, some of the walls were replaced to improve the security of this position, and the window was enlarged to control the area below.
It was | It became |
- Added a new position to balance the abilities of both teams.
It was | It became |
- And some minor edits on this section of the map, making rather purely visual changes that will not affect the balance of power in battle.

Westfield
Picturesque map with forests, hills and a village in the middle. It was the section of the village that underwent changes: a new arrangement of houses and bushes.

Just nearby, the base capture zone in the “Encounter Battle” mode will now begin.
Erlenberg
The central part of the map with urban areas has been redesigned to provide more space. Now positional combat will get more development options and tactical maneuvers.

Also, for the upper spawn, they made it more convenient to cross the river. Now allies will sink less often (at least, I sincerely hope so).

Ruinberg
A long-suffering map, you can't count how many times the developers have tried to rebalance it. And here again, changes await her.
- For the bottom respawn team, niches were added in city blocks near the square. As conceived by the developers, they should help hold positions longer (an attempt to increase the battle time due to complaints from players about turbachis).

- And the position of the top respawn, on the contrary, weakened. In places, the embankment was removed or reduced.
