Yukong in Honkai Star Rail: Best Build and Team Guide

The most powerful build for the head of the Sky-Faring Commission and recommendations for leveling.

Yukong in Honkai: Star Rail
Content

Yukong in HSR is the Helm Master of the Xianzhou Alliance's Sky-Faring Commission, who specializes in supporting allies through the Roaring Bowstrings status. Using the skill, the girl imposes the named effect on herself and gives her allies a significant increase in attack power for two turns. If the ultimate is charged, and the Roaring Bowstrings status is still active, she offers additional increases to both critical chance and critical damage, which many representatives of her path, the Path of Harmony, cannot boast of.

The "minus" of her skill set consisting of bonuses that are significant for many DPS heroes is that the foxian lady is extremely demanding of action points, which is critical in many group compositions. This leads to conflict and has a negative impact on the heroine's relevance in the endgame content.

Hero's story

Lor Yukong in Honkai: Star Rail

Yukong is an experienced pilot and marksman. A veteran from a young age, she quickly became the head of the Commission under the guidance of the general himself, but has not flown since due to being involved in a particularly brutal battle. She is a member of the foxian people, whose members live long lives.

Unlike other species of Luofu Xianzhou, foxian people live only three centuries, so they are much more concerned with enjoying life. The current head of the Sky-Faring Commission was such a person - among the elderly natives, you can often hear about the unbridledness and various achievements of the former ace. However, all this is left behind, since she is already 246 years old, which means that her lifespan is coming to an end. The shine of glory has long faded, so the head of the Sky-Faring Commission has completely immersed herself in work, bogged down in paperwork.

The development of the Foxian pilot's storyline can be seen in her companion mission, "For I Have Touched the Sky".

How to Get the Character

You can obtain Yukong in the following banners:

  • with some probability in the newbie banner, “Departure Warp”;
  • in the unlimited time standard Star Warp banner along with other Epic Characters and Light Cones;
  • in “Event Warp: Character” with an increased chance if listed as one of the four-star characters who have received such a privilege;
  • There is also a small opportunity in the Event Warp: Light Cone weapon banner.

To avoid missing Yukong's rerun, follow our banner schedule.

Features

Main stats of the head of the Sky-Faring Commission are HP, ATK and defense, which increase during the leveling process. However, there are also fixed parameters - speed and taunt. Their values are affected only by equipment bonuses or buffs of allies.

How Yukong's skills work

Yukong's main abilities

When using abilities, the Foxian pilot applies various buffs to party members that increase ATK, crit dmg, and crit rate, which is achieved by triggering the Roaring Bowstrings status. In addition to the standard set of Path of Harmony skills, the heroine also inflicts imaginary damage to single targets with her super ability and basic attack.

Active skills

The technique

Windchaser | Enhance

Grants the Sprint status, increasing movement speed by 35% for 20 seconds. If the target strikes during this time, they gain level 2 Roaring Bowstrings at the start of the battle.

Basic attack

Basic Attack "Arrowslinger" | Single Attack

Deals imaginary damage to the selected target equal to 50-130% of ATK.

Skill

Skill "Emboldening Salvo" | Support

Gain level 2 of Roaring Bowstrings (max 2). When the status is active, all party members' ATK increases by 40-100%. After each ally's turn, one stack is removed, except for the turn in which the former ace refreshes the current stage.

Superpower (Ultimate)

Super Ability "Diving Kestrel" | Single Attack

Energy: 130

Using the ultimate while the Roaring Bowstrings status is active increases crit rate of all party members by 21-31,5% and their crit dmg by 39-78%, and also deals imaginary damage to the selected victim equal to 228-456% of ATK.

Passive Skills

Talent

Talent "Seven Layers, One Arrow" | Enhance

Basic attack deals additional imaginary damage to the selected target equal to 40-100% of ATK. In addition, toughness damage of the current strike's is increased by 100%. This effect can only be triggered again after 1 turn.

Leveling Order

Super > Skill > Talent > Basic Attack

Priority is given first to the superpower, since not only the percentage of increase in crit dmg and crit rate, but also damage depends on it. The Skill also provides the team with a buff, so its level should be increased either side-by-side or after leveling the ultimate, if there are not enough resources.

Talent only affects the foxian pilot's own damage, but even if she is used in the secondary DD position, the ult and skill still remain a priority. Basic attack is leveled at the very end.

Eidolons

All consts:

number Name Effects
1 Aerial Marshal At the start of combat, all allies' speed is increased by 10% for 2 turns.
2 Skyward Command When any teammate's current energy reaches max, the former ace will recover 5 energy. Each teammate can only activate the effect once. The number of times it can be activated is reset after the Foxian pilot uses the ultimate.
3 Torrential Fusillade Skill level +2. Max lvl - 15. Basic skill level +1. Max lvl - 10.
4 Zephyrean Echoes When Roaring Bowstrings are active, the heroine's damage is increased by 30%.
5 August Deadshot Superpower level +2. Talent level +2. Max lvl - 15.
6 Bowstring Thunderclap When the Helm Master of the Sky-Faring Commission uses her superpower, she gains 1 level of Roaring Bowstrings.

Best Eidolons of Yukong are:

  • E2 — Allows you to use your super ability more often, which increases the crit dmg and rate of all party members, provided that the Roaring Bowstrings status is active.
  • E4 — increases the heroine's own damage. Although her main role is to apply buffs, the shard will be a nice bonus that will further reveal the potential of the foxian pilot as a sub-DPS.
  • E6 — Makes Roaring Bowstrings last longer. As an example, consider the following rotation: after using the skill, level 2 is given. Then the ally takes a turn, gets the buff and removes 1 level. However, if you immediately activate the ultimate after this, you can extend the buff for another turn.

How to Play Yukong in HSR

Yukong in battle

The Helm Master of the Sky-Faring Commission is a support unit that buffs allies by applying buffs to them. At the same time, thanks to her talent and superpower, she can also deal damage to one target, acting as a secondary DD. The key feature of the Foxian pilot is the status Roaring Bowstrings – it determines whether the buffs will work. It is triggered when stacks accumulate, which can be obtained after using the following skills:

  • The technique - at the beginning of the battle, 2 levels.
  • Skill – 2 levels.
  • Ult (with E6) - 1 level.

In addition, it is worth considering that the levels are removed after each turn of a teammate, which forces you to carefully think through your actions and choose the right moment - when to use basic attack and restore action points, and when to use a skill to activate the status at the time of the main DD's turn.

Best Yukong rotation is based on the following principles:

  1. Before the battle, use the "Windchaser" technique, then hit the victim with basic attack to immediately gain 2 status levels at the beginning of the battle and activate the Roaring Bowstrings (the levels are the diamonds above the HP bar in the character icon area).
  2. When it's the former Ace's turn, if there are any primary or secondary damage dealers after her, use "Emboldening Salvo" to increase the ATK of those allies for 2 turns. Otherwise, use basic attack to avoid wasting an action point.
  3. Use the Diving Kestrel superpower only when Roaring Bowstrings are activeto get maximum boosts. For example, right after a skill that restored all the energy for the ultimate.
  4. During the battle, try to alternate the skill and basic attack to constantly refresh the buff from the talent "Seven Layers, One Arrow", restore skill points and maintain status.

Please note: if you use the ultimate without status, the buff for crit dmg and crit rate won't work.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Yukong in Honkai Star Rail: Best Build and Team Guide

In order to use the Helm Master of the Sky-Faring Commission most effectively, it is necessary to take into account all her features:

Strengths Weaknesses
Strikes universal buffs to the team: Increases ATK, crit dmg and crit rate. At the same time, all enhancing abilities do not scale with any characteristic, which simplifies the build. Needs precise calibration of speed the entire party to ensure that Roaring Bowstrings work reliably. The unit's own stats should be higher than the team's damage dealers. At the same time, the defensive supports should take action before the pilot's turn in the current or next cycle, so that the buffs are not wasted on healing/shields.
Able to deal good single target damage with the help of her basic attack and superpower, which will be in demand in battles against bosses. Thanks to this, the heroine can be used not only as a support, but also as a secondary DD. Forces to keep track of the number of status stacks and alternate skills in such a way that Roaring Bowstrings are always active at the time of the main damage dealer’s turn. The situation is simplified by obtaining E6, but only partially.
Increases movement speed for 20 seconds with the technique. Although the size of the locations in the game is small, it will speed up movement on the map, thanks to which farming monsters or chests will become more comfortable. Expensive ult (130 energy), which plays an important role in the gameplay. To compensate for the deficiency, E2 and energy recovery in the link rope of the planar ornaments are urgently needed.
High break effect value combined with the fact that the former ace has an epic rarity, which means that she is easier to obtain. It is not necessary to level up her damage in order to easily remove large amounts of stamina. Low damage potential. Although the former ace can be a sub-DPS, she will not be able to fully reveal herself in this role. The heroine only causes damage to one target, and that damage is predictable for the basic attack only, since the ultimate takes a long time to charge. The light cones of the Path of Harmony also do not imply the same high "ceiling" of damage compared to weapons of other classes.
Unique support for units of her element thanks to the "Bowmaster" trace, which increases the apparent DPS of all allies. In combination with the "Planetary Rendezvous" cone and Penacony, Land of the Dreams can increase various damage-dealing aspects exclusively for teammates of the same element.

Best builds for Yukong in Honkai: Star Rail

The best builds for Yukun

In a battle, the foxian pilot is focused on performing two functions: the smooth operation of her status Roaring Bowstrings and breaking maginary vulnerability with normal attacks and super ability. Considering that her skills have fixed values, there is no need to gain any stats to increase buffs, but rather focus only on those that affect mechanics. For this reason, Yukong's build in HSR is based mainly on the following stats:

  • do things quickly - a primary stat that is needed until it exceeds the main damage dealer's stat. If possible, it's worth having high values so that there's a "window" in the rotation for a basic strike due to the large number of actions;
  • energy recharge - is an equally important indicator, since the ultimate is expensive. At the same time, its timely use plays a significant role in the battle, since it provides the team with buffs on crit dmg and crit rate;
  • ATK – affects the damage done by attack skills. Despite the fact that the heroine is primarily a support, she will in any case deal damage during the battle with basic attack and super ability. For this reason, ATK will be a good addition that will increase her own DPS. This also includes imaginary damage bonus, crit dmg and crit rate;
  • Effect RES — a situational characteristic necessary for the operation of the set of planar ornaments Broken Keel. Outside of the set, it can be useful for increasing survivability due to the ability to avoid negative statuses and debuffs;
  • HP/DEF are acceptable to gain when it is planned to invest a minimum amount of time and resources in the former ace.

Recommended Stats

The main stats that are recommended to look for in relics:

Relic Main characteristic
Head HP (fixed)
Hands ATK (constant)
Body Crit. chance - optimal, HP - situational
Boots Speed - optimal, ATK — situational
Planar Sphere Imaginary damage bonus - optimal, HP - situational
Link Rope Energy recovery rate

In additional characteristics it is worth increasing:

  • speed;
  • ATK;
  • crit damage and crit chance;
  • HP/defense;
  • effect RES;
  • break - has a positive effect on the one-time damage from the destruction of the potential victim's shield.

Optimal values of the most significant parameters:

  • do things quickly: at least 120, subsequently increases for a specific damage dealer or team.
  • energy recharge: 120%+ for the operation of some planar ornaments, at 130% the ultimate is charged in the shortest possible time;
  • crit dmg/crit rate: ratio 1:2 (50% crit rate and 100% crit rate);
  • HP: 2+;
  • Effect RES: 30% for the planar ornaments Broken Keel.

Light Cone Rating

When choosing a weapon for the head of the Sky-Faring Commission, it should be taken into account that it must be related to the Path of Harmony, since otherwise the passive effect will not be available. Among the bonuses, it is advisable to look for those that will either benefit the team directly and / or increase speed and energy recharge for the heroine herself.

HP:

Increases energy recovery by 10-18% and restores 1 skill point after using an ultimate on an ally. This effect can be used 1 time per 2 activations of the ult. When the owner uses a skill, the damage of the ally taking the next action is increased by 30-50% for 1 turn. The weapon gives a bonus to energy recovery and increases the damage of a teammate after using the skill - in combination with the Roaring Bowstrings status, it turns out to be a good DPS boost. However, it is important to note that the cone does not restore the skill point, since the pilot of the fox people in the ult hits monsters, and does not use it on the team. Although half of the effect does not work for the heroine, the rest of the passive is extremely useful.
Flowing Nightglow
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
HP 43-953
ATK 28-635
DEF 21-463
The bearer of the light cone receives 1 lvl of Cantillation every time any ally performs an attack. Every level “Cantillation” increases the energy recovery rate of a hero equipped with a weapon “card” by 3-5% — this effect can stack up to 5 times.

When the wielder uses an ultimate, the Cantillation effect is replaced with the Cadenza condition. "Cadenza" increases the attack power of the wearer character by 48-96%, and the damage dealt by allies is reduced by 24-40%. The duration of the effect is 1 turn.
A powerful cone on a former ace with proper rotation (skill, ultimate, then two damage dealers) and especially with 6 eidolons. The weapon will allow you to use your ultimate faster and increase the DPS of the entire team, but in return will require more control over your actions on an already demanding unit.
Planetary Rendezvous
⭐⭐⭐⭐
HP

At the start of combat, when an ally deals damage of the same type as the owner's type, their damage dealt is increased by 12-24%.Cone provides maximum personal damage in conjunction with the imaginary main DPS, and also increases the elemental damage of the entire team. At the fifth level of superimposition, it is considered the most useful weapon for a character in a mono-elemental pack. Also works in synergy with the open trace "Bowmaster" and planar ornaments Penacony, Land of the Dreams, turning the head of the Sky-Faring Commission into the best support for damage dealers of her element.
Memories of the Past

Increases break effect by 28-56%. When the owner attacks, heals himself 4-8 energy. This effect can only be triggered once per turn.Since the Foxian pilot deals a lot of damage with her ultimate and is good at destroying vulnerability, the break effect becomes a relevant secondary stat for her. In addition, the cone restores energy after hitting, so it will be a good solution if you plan to use basic attack often in your rotation.

After the owner makes an attack or takes damage, restore 4-8 energy. This effect can be activated 1 time per turn.A more affordable alternative to the previous equipment. The unique advantage of the card is the ability to easily charge the ultimate in 3 turns: Q, then skill, basic attack and skill again (works with the rope to restore energy). Can be used if all previously listed options are missing, since three-star cones are much inferior in the amounts of basic characteristics.

The selected effect will replace the previous one and will not be the same as last time. The bonus disappears after the death of the owner. Effects of this type do not stack.Excellent cone from the BP for buffing the team. Despite the randomness of the buffs, they are all useful not only for the team and the main damage dealer, but also for the former ace, since ATK/crits will increase the damage of her basic attack and super abilities, and energy recovery will allow you to quickly accumulate energy to activate the ult.

This bonus cannot stack with buffs of this type. The choice of this weapon will positively affect the damage from basic attack and the heroine's superpowers due to the increase in ATK. To distribute the crit dmg bonus, the foxian pilot must be equipped with this cone in teams with a pair of damage dealers of the same Path.

The weapon does not require high stack levels for optimal effectiveness.
Dreamville Adventure
⭐⭐⭐⭐
HP 43-952
ATK 19-423
DEF 18-396
After the owner uses a basic attack, skill, or ult, he applies the Childish status to all allies. This status increases the damage dealt by an ally's corresponding skill by 12-20%. The Childishness status only works with the owner's last used skill, and it cannot stack. An affordable alternative from the in-game light cone shop. In general, the equipment is suitable in the case when the rotation of the head of the Sky-Faring Commission and the main damage-dealing unit completely coincides. For example, after the skill of the former ace comes a similar ability of the damage dealer, and after the ultimate "Diving Kestrel" comes the ultimate of the main DD.

The situationality of weapons is manifested in groups where the damage dealer plays from basic attack: it is necessary to choose between a skill buff and a cone. In such a situation, it is worth giving preference to other weapon "cards".

The advantage of the weapon is that it is free and accessible, as it can be obtained, for example, for killing weekly bosses, Hall of Oblivion store or Strales (Luofu Xianzhou currency) .It will be necessary to calibrate the speed in the team so that the heroine always takes action before the allies that need her buff.

What relics and ornaments are needed

For the relics of the foxian pilot you also need to look for speed, energy recovery and ATK. In addition, sets with imaginary damage or sets aimed at imposing buffs are suitable. If you can’t get a full set, you can use a combination of two parts of the sets listed in the table.

Cavern relics

NameEffectsRecommendation
Musketeer of Wild Wheat

2 parts: +12% attack power.
4 parts: +6% Speed, +10% Basic Attack Damage.
The best set of relics for the head of the Sky-Faring Commission due to the increase in the most important characteristics - speed and ATK. At the same time, the increase in damage basic attack will not be superfluous due to the talent "Seven Layers, One Arrow", which boosts the character's normal attacks.
Musketeer of Wild Wheat
Wastelander of Banditry Desert

2 parts: +12% attack power.

2 parts: speed +6%.
The most optimal combinations of relics in a 2x2 build. If you have good stats, two damage sets are set, aimed at increasing the damage from the ultimate. It is permissible to combine any of the listed sets with the “Hackerspace” if there is a critical lack of speed, and suitable parts of the “Musketeer” cannot be found.
Wastelander of Banditry Desert
⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
2 parts: Imaginary damage +10%.
4 parts: When dealing damage to a weakened enemy, +10% Critical Hit Chance. If the enemy has the Conclusion status, +20% critical damage.
The full set is of little use, since to activate the passive effect you need to fulfill conditions (which cannot always be met) and besides, crits are far from the highest priority characteristics. However, 2 parts of the set can be combined well with other sets.
Thief of Shooting Meteor

⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
2 Piece: Break Effect +16%.
4 Piece: Break effect + 16%. Restores 3 energy after breaking enemy vulnerability.
A "first-time" set, as it can be obtained for free by completing quests and opening chests. Since the former ace does a good job of breaking vulnerability with hук ultimate (90), increasing break effect will allow her to deal more damage, which in certain situations can play a decisive role in combat. As a nice addition, destroying an enemy shield restores energy.

Planar ornaments

NameEffectsRecommendation
Broken keel
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐
2 parts: Increases wearer's resistance to effects by 10%. If the wearer's resistance to effects is greater than or equal to 30%, crit. The damage of all allies is increased by 10%.The best set for the head of the Sky-Faring Commission in any role. Although resistance to effects does not affect damage, it reduces the chance of getting a negative status or getting weakened, so it will increase survivability and combat effectiveness. To activate the passive effect, you need to get 20% of the stat with cavern relics.
Inert Salsotto

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐
2 parts: Increases crit. owner's chance is 8%. If critical If the owner's chance is greater than or equal to 50%, the damage of his superpower and bonus attack increases by 15%.Unlike the previous option, the set does not have a passive that is beneficial for allies, but is aimed at increasing personal damage. The set is designed for a full-fledged sub-DD with an ult with stat balancing and good DPS, but does not interfere with the performance of support functions with skills.
Penacony, Land of the Dreams
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐
2 parts: Increases energy recovery rate by 5%. Increases damage dealt by allies of the same type as the owner by 10%.
An energy recovery set whose passive effect echoes the "Bowmaster" trace. Allows you to further increase the damage of imaginary teams, whether it be Imbibitor Lunae or Welt.
Lushaka, the Sunken Seas
⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
2 parts: Increases energy recovery speed by 5%. If the owner is not in first place in the team, the attack power of the character in first place increases by 12%.An alternative energy recovery set. The set is not tied to an imaginary element, but instead of a direct damage increase, it offers ATK. To effectively implement the buff, you need to put the main DD in the first place in the team, and the pilot from the fox people - in any remaining free slot.
Space Sealing Station

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐
2 Piece: Attack Power +12%. When the speed reaches 120 units and above, in addition to the attack power + 12%.
Attack power will come in handy to increase your own DPS. The set is inferior in overall usefulness for the team to the previous options, but it also has a place as an alternative if you can’t collect good parts of Keel/Penacony as a buffer and Salsotto for a damage build.
Fleet of the Ageless

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐
2 Piece: HP +12%. When the speed reaches 120 units and above, all allies gain +8% attack power.
While the health boost doesn't directly affect damage output or buffs, it does make the former ace more "dense", increasing her survivability. The second part of the passive will also provide the team with an additional ATK buff (assuming she has 120 speed).
Sprightly Vonwacq

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐
2 parts: Energy recovery rate +5%. When the speed reaches 120 units and above, the action advances +40% immediately after entering combat.
Situational planar ornaments for the Foxian pilot - it slightly increases energy recovery, and upon reaching 120 speed, advances action at the beginning of the battle. For a fast attack, the passive will work no worse than the alternatives, but in a protracted battle it will play a less significant role.

Yukong Team Guide in HSR

Yukong's role in the team is that of a support, who applies buffs and thus boosts the party members, increasing their DPS. Thanks to this, she can join any team that requires a unit that performs such functions.

Which characters are suitable?

The following heroes are suitable as allies for the former ace:

CharacterPathDamage typeFeatures
Physical MC
Destruction
Physical
A starting DPS character that deals damage to a single target and/or nearby victims. Thanks to the buffs of the Path of Harmony, he will be able to stay relevant for much longer and complete any game content.
Jingliu
Destruction
Ice
A former Sword Master who uses an ice blade to crush opponents. Needs ATK and critical damage - the former ace can increase these stats with the help of a skill and super ability.
Blade
Destruction
Wind
A Stellaron Hunter who is skilled with his weapon. He takes the position of the main damage dealer and "captures" most of the action points, forcing the team to work around him. He has high DPS, which scales with HP.
Imbibitor Lunae
Destruction
Imaginary
A strong DPS unit that ranks quite high in tier lists. Needs representatives of the Path of Harmony, whose skills are aimed at spreading increases in significant characteristics for damage dealers. He can be very “gluttonous” in terms of action points.
Mydei
Destruction
Imaginary
Mydei the Chrysos Heir has a mechanic of increasing DPS by spending personal HP, so the increase in ATK from the pilot's Roaring Bowstrings will be useless. However, he will receive good increases to crit rate and crit dmg if the heroine uses the ultimate under the active Roaring Bowstrings. Accordingly, if the foxian pilot is Mydei's support, it is important to build hers rotation around the skill and super ability so that the distributed bonuses remain relevant.
Clara
Destruction
Physical
A legendary character from a standard banner that has the mechanic of bonus attacks. If an enemy attacks Clara or her allies, they receive the mark of Svarog. When the mark is active, the robot immediately strikes, causing physical damage.
Yunli
Destruction
Physical
Primary/secondary damage dealer, focused on constantly performing a counterattack using his talent and superpower when receiving incoming damage. The build focuses on combat characteristics, so it needs appropriate buffs.
Arlan
Destruction
Lightning
Although the character buffs himself by reducing his health, in the later stages of the game his damage output begins to noticeably drop. For this reason, he needs additional support in the form of Path of Harmony supports.
Hook
Destruction
Fire
The "Mole" boss can act as both a primary and secondary DD by applying the "Burn" status, which deals periodic damage to one victim (if there is E4, also to adjacent targets).
Misha
Destruction
Ice
The little bell-boy is flexible in his choice of roles and copes well both as a main damage dealer and as a sub-DPS. His key ability, superpower, Freezes his victims and damages multiple targets with a bounce.
Aglaea
Remembrance
Lightning
Aglaea and the former ace are a great F2P tandem. During the battle, the demigoddess of Amphoreus often uses her active abilities due to the colossal speed in the Supreme Stance state. At the same time, she is practically undemanding to skill points, which suits the archer from Luofu. Buffs on crits and ATK, in turn, will be well received not only by Aglaea, but also by her memosprite, together with which the heroine carries out powerful blows to the area.
Seele
The Hunt
Quantum
One of the strongest representatives of the Path of the Hunt, wielding the quantum element. Has its own high damage and can perform several actions in one turn if it defeats its prey.
Feixiao
The Hunt
Wind
A damage dealer who excels at dealing with dense enemies (bosses and elite monsters). Relies on a bonus attack, which is contained in a talent, skill and super ability. Works well with heroes that can deal additional damage, which allows you to gain a charge "Flying Aureus".
Topaz and Numby
The Hunt
Fire
A DPS unit that specializes in bonus attacks. Gains huge advantages in combination with heroes that can also perform bonus attacks. In addition, it can exist as an independent damage dealer, occupying the main position in its group.
Doctor Ratio
The Hunt
Imaginary
Veritas primarily occupies the position of the main damage dealer. When selecting a team for a character, it is important not only to provide the hero with support in the form of representatives of the Path of Harmony, but also with allies capable of maintaining 2 or more debuffs on enemies. This is important for an increased chance of activating his bonus attack, which is directly related to the negative statuses affecting the target.
Boothill
The Hunt
Physical
One of the best representatives of the Path of the Hunt. Although he deals huge break damage, this is not his only source of damage. The Cowboy also gets a significant boost to crits due to his trace, and the Head of the Sky-Faring Commission will help balance these stats and increase ATK.
Yanqing
The Hunt
Ice
A 5-star hero focused on destroying a single enemy. Extremely strong in battles against bosses and elite monsters. At the same time, thanks to the talent, he increases his crit dmg and crit rate, which, combined with the buffs of the Foxian pilot, provides a powerful boost.
Dan Heng
The Hunt
Wind
F2P damage dealer, who is not much inferior to legendary heroes of his path. Has high damage indicators, effectively breaks wind shields of enemy targets and with some chance reduces their speed when critically hitting with a skill.
Sushang
The Hunt
Physical
An excellent DPS character who makes an additional attack when Sword Stance is triggered. Like other representatives of the Path of the Hunt, she will be glad to receive buffs from the former ace, as she needs an increase in ATK and crit dmg.
Jing Yuan
Erudition
Lightning
Specializes in AoE damage, but also deals significant damage to single victims. Summons the Lightning Lord, who fights on par with other allies and is considered a bonus attack.
The Herta
Erudition
Ice
The outstanding scientist deals devastating damage with her enhanced skill and superpower, and due to her mechanic's traits, she needs another hero of the Path of Erudition. However, considering that she is also the core of the party, she will benefit from additional support from the Harmony unit, as this will allow her to deal damage even more effectively.
Jade
Erudition
Quantum
A secondary DPS character who prefers to fight against groups of monsters: the number of enemies on the battlefield directly affects the rate at which charge levels accumulate, which allow bonus attacks to be performed. The skill assigns a teammate as a "Debt Collector", which additionally increases their speed by 30. When the "Debt Collector" strikes, they deal quantum damage to each mob hit equal to Jade's attack power. In doing so, the "Debt Collector" spends 2% of their max HP.
Argenti
Erudition
Physical
A physical representative of the Path of Erudition, good at dealing with crowds of enemies. With his superpower and skill, he deals damage to all mobs on the field and restores energy for each damage dealt.
Himeko
Erudition
Fire
A good fire DD with an emphasis on mass damage. Effective both as a main and secondary damage dealer, as she can attack from the "pocket" (outside her turn) if vulnerability is broken three times.
Rappa
Erudition
Imaginary
A damage dealer who plays from break and specializes in depleting enemy toughness. At the same time, she deals massive damage to all enemies on the battlefield on a stable basis with the help of the increased basic attack gained from the ultimate. Although she does not need crits, she benefits from the ATK increase and the bonus to the imaginary element.
Herta
Erudition
Ice
A comfortable hero at the beginning of the game, but later becomes more demanding in terms of equipment and support from squadmates. Deals ice damage in an area, including bonus hits when mobs' health drops to 50% or lower.
Serval
Erudition
Lightning
An optimal alternative to Jing Yuan, as she has the same element and is strong in AoE. Her super ability shocks all enemies on the battlefield and applies the Shock status, which deals damage over time.
Qingque
Erudition
Quantum
A character with interesting combat mechanics based on throwing jade dice. Requires a special approach to combat and thinking through moves, in return he is guaranteed to cause a lot of damage.
Bronya
Harmony
Wind
Combined with the Foxian Pilot buffs, any primary DD will get an incredibly powerful boost to DPS, as Bronya similarly increases ATK and crit dmg. At the same time, the skill can remove the debuff and turn the action forward if necessary.
Ruan Mei
Harmony
Ice
In addition to the pilot's buffs, Ruan Mei will also be given a boost to her damage output, speed, and break efficiency. Since the former ace's ultimate damage and break capabilities will be used to break potential targets, she will also be able to take advantage of the buffs.
Imaginary MC
Harmony
Imaginary
F2P buffer, playing from the characteristic "break effect". Has low consumption of action points, which is why is a good fit for any team as a secondary DPS unit. In battle, he is focused on increasing damage to enemies with a broken vulnerability, so requires that the elements in the team match the weaknesses of monsters.
Tingyun
Harmony
Lightning
A versatile support, whose arsenal, in addition to attack and damage buffs, also includes an ultimate that restores energy, which will also be useful for the foxian pilot.
Hanya
Harmony
Physical
The characters will make good partners, jointly supporting the main DPS. The Head of the Sky-Faring Commission often uses the skill, and one of Hanya's features is the restoration of action points. Also, the judge increases the speed and ATK of one ally with the ultimate and increases the damage done.
Welt
Nihility
Imaginary
A debuffer character who not only weakens opponents, but also deals damage in an area. Even if he does not occupy the position of the main DD, he will be glad to increase the imaginary damage and additional buffs.
Black Swan
Nihility
Wind
Specializes in inflicting the Arcana status, which counts as Wind Shear or all effects with a first damage after using the ultimate. Despite the lack of need for crits, the Foxian pilot can offer the Black Swan an ATK boost.
Jiaoqiu
Nihility
Fire
A powerful representative of the Nihility, whose skills are aimed at imposing the "Ashen Roast" debuff (considered a "Burn" DoT status, which deals periodic fire-type damage). Enemies affected by "Ashen Roast" receive increased damage. The super ability, in turn, deals a high level of damage, and also imposes a third-party debuff that increases the damage taken by enemies from DPS-type ultimate skills.
Kafka
Nihility
Lightning
A powerful DoT damage dealer who also deals good damage with skills. Puts a ton of Shock on enemies, causes instant damage from all periodic statuses with the help of an ultimate. Can get a good boost to personal damage in conjunction with the former ace.
Acheron
Nihility
Lightning
If Acheron has E2 open, she can interact effectively with Path of Harmony characters. This is due to the fact that the eidolon allows you to get the full buff from the “Abyss” trace even if you have 1 hero of the Path of Nihility. The combination is also possible in cases where the loss of additional bonus damage is not critical.
Luka
Nihility
Physical
A damage dealer who focuses on dealing damage by applying damage over time statuses. He can also remove buffs from monsters and apply his own debuffs, increasing the DPS received by one of the targets. He can act as a main DD or sub-DPS in battles with dense mobs.
Guinaifen
Nihility
Fire
Fire secondary damage dealer that plays from Burn. Combines the features of Luka and Kafka, applying debuff to a crowd of opponents and activating already applied periodic fire statuses from the ultimate. It has good AoE, so she will be useful in battle against enemies with vulnerability to fire.
Silver Wolf
Nihility
Quantum
Allows a mono-elemental team with the support of a former ace to fight any enemy, as her skill creates a vulnerability to the element belonging to one of the allies. In addition, she reduces the speed, attack power and defense of one target.
Pela
Nihility
Ice
The super ability lowers the defense of all enemies, thereby increasing the damage inflicted on them. The skill removes the boost from one victim, which is useful, for example, against a soldier struck by Mara, who will not be able to resurrect.
Sampo
Nihility
Wind
With his skills, applies Wind Shear which attacks the selected targets for several turns. If he uses a technique before the battle, he also applies Blind, which delays actions.
Fu Xuan
Preservation
Quantum
The skill creates a Matrix of Prescience, which transfers 65% of the damage received by team members to the soothsayer. In addition, buffs HP and crit chance, also restores health with ult (with the second trace).
Aventurine
Preservation
Imaginary
Casts shields and renews them during combat after activating an ultimate and performing a bonus attack. Has virtually no skill point requirements. In addition to providing defensive functions, helps the team with damage. The perfect team for him is a cooperation of several characters who can perform a bonus attack. He is also good in other groups, but performs bonus attacks a little less often.
Gepard
Preservation
Ice
One of the best tanks and shields in the game. The skill has a chance to freeze enemies, delaying their actions. Superpower activates strong shields that block a large amount of damage for 3 turns.
Fire MC
Preservation
Fire
A free tank that can be obtained at the end of the story on Yarilo-6. Focuses the attention of opponents on himself, taking their blows. Puts shields using skills and deals fire damage to the area.
March 7
Preservation
Ice
Another free shield that is in demand when enemies have a weakness to ice. Deals area damage with her super ability, and also counterattacks if an ally under the shield is attacked.
Bailu
Abundance
Lightning
A healer from the standard banner. In addition to healing abilities, the dragon lady has the ability to resurrect a dead party member, but only once during the battle.
Luocha
Abundance

An event healer who restores the health of the team with a skill and talent. Despite belonging to the Path of Abundance, his ultimate deals damage to all enemies, while removing 1 buff from them.
Huohuo
Abundance
Wind
Healer and buffer. Heals one or more team members with skill and talent, restores energy and increases ATK with superpower. Can remove debuffs from allies.
Lingsha

Lynx
Abundance
Quantum
An epic healer, not inferior to the legendary representatives of the Path of Abundance. Applies positive effects to passive healing, removes negative statuses from a team with an ultimate ability, and provides strong mass and solo healing.
Gallagher
Abundance
Fire
The character's skill set includes instant healing with a skill and massive healing with an enhanced basic attack, but the key healing ability is the talent, through which constant health regeneration is ensured.
Natasha
Abundance
Physical
Free healer given in the plot. Heals both single teammates and the entire team. If has ger traces leveled, removes 1 debuff from a team member by using the skill.

Best team samples

From the characters considered, you can create powerful teams for the head of the Sky-Faring Commission:

Character 1Character 2Character 3Character 4Features
Imbibitor Lunae
Tingyun
Pela
Imaginary MC
Yukong
Fu Xuan
Luocha
Huohuo
An extremely powerful team with the Imbibitor Lunae hypercarry. With the support of buffers and debuffers, Dan Heng of the Path of Destruction destroys monsters of any number and density in just a few cycles. The former ace gives him all the necessary buffs strictly before his turn, the rest of the time she generates skill points with her basic attack. Tingyun/Pela/the MC of Harmony adhere to the same principle and refresh statuses only as they fade. Luocha or Fu Xuan support the team with additional damage from the ultimate, and the rest of the time they protect with long-term skills. Replacing them with Huohuo can increase the speed of the ultimate recovery, and therefore the DPS per cycle.
Feixiao
Clara
Yunli
Jing Yuan
Topaz
Robin
Yukong
Lingsha
Aventurine
Lynx
A group aiming to cause damage with bonus attacks under the buffs of Topaz or Robin. In this case, the head of the Commission is used both as a secondary DD, attacking one target, and as a buffer, providing the team with ATK and crit dmg.
Jingliu
Bronya
Pela
Yukong
Huohuo
Jingliu focuses on destroying enemies. The Foxian Pilot and Bronya buff the entire team (particularly Jingliu). Instead of Bronya, you can use Pela to weaken the defense of potential victims, and at E4 to reduce resistance to the ice element. Huohuo restores energy to allies and spreads positive buffs, and also heals several heroes at once.
Blade
Ruan Mei
Tingyun
Yukong
Bailu
Natasha
Blade's attacks are supported by positive effects from Ruan Mei, Tingyun, and the former ace. The first combination focuses on increasing the main stats of the main DPS unit, while the second one focuses on increasing key stats and filling up energy for more frequent use of the ultimate. The chosen representative of the Path of Abundance is engaged in healing and restoring action points.
Seele
Silver Wolf
Yukong
Fu Xuan
Lynx
A team with Seele and Silver Wolf, who can make enemies vulnerable to quantum or imaginary elements with her skill. At the same time, each character is able to damage their victims to some extent, which allows using the Wolf's debuff at 100%.
Welt
Silver Wolf
Yukong
Luocha
A variation of the previous team with an increased chance of applying Imaginary Element. Welt is the main DD. The Head of the Sky-Faring Commission and Luocha are supports who, in addition to performing their main functions, also deal damage with superpowers and basic attacks. Although the probability of getting quantum vulnerability remains, this is not a big problem, since Wolf can also deal damage.
Yanqing
Sushang
Dan Heng
Misha
Welt
Yukong
March 7
Gepard
This setup is aimed at strengthening and supporting the representatives of the Hunt, who deal a ton of damage to a single target. Welt/Misha delay the actions of enemies and deal additional damage. The foxian pilot increases ATK, crit dmg, and crit rate. March 7/Gepard applies a shield to prevent Yanqing from taking damage, since otherwise his talent stops working.
Himeko
Hook
Asta
Yukong
Fire MC
Himeko or Hook are the main DPS characters, focused on dealing AoE damage and setting enemies on fire. Former Ace and Asta buff allies and break their elemental shields. The Trailblazer of Preservation protects his party and deals additional fire damage.
Kafka
Black Swan
Sampo
Yukong
Any hero Path of Abundance
Dot team. Kafka is the Main DD, which deals high DPS by activating all imposed DoT statuses. Black Swan or Sampo are Secondary damage dealers that apply the Wind Shear debuff and increase damage taken by targets. The head of the Sky-Faring Commission is used as a free support, increasing ATK while Roaring Bowstrings are active.
Boothill
Argenti
Ruan Mei
Yukong
Lingsha
Gallagher
A team supporting the physical DD. Depending on the number of targets, Boothill or Argenti is used. The foxian pilot not only buffs, but also breaks imaginary shields, while Ruan Mei increases the effectiveness of break, speed and DPS of her DD. Any representative of Abundance can be used as a support, for example, Lingsha or Gallagher.
Rappa
Imaginary MC
Tingyun
Yukong
Huohuo
Lingsha
A group with Rappa, who deals area damage and causes vulnerability break with the help of a strengthened basic attack. Although the former ace increases crit. rates, it also provides an increase in ATK and gives a bonus to imaginary damage, which will be very useful for a ninja. The build can be supplemented with the Harmony Trailblazer or Tingyun, and use Huohuo or Lingsha as a healer.
Acheron
Silver Wolf
Pela
Welt
Yukong
Gallagher
Fire MC
A team with Acheron E2. If you have her 2nd eidolon, it is enough to use 1 Path of Nihility ally so that the max. buff from the "Abyss" trace is in effect. The Head of the Sky-Faring Commission increases ATK, crit dmg and crit rate. Gallagher/the Fire MC maintains survivability and can also debuff. Silver Wolf, Pela or Welt are suitable for the Path of Nihility position.
The Herta
Jade
Herta
Yukong
Lingsha
A team with the Herta that needs another Erudition character, as it significantly boosts not only her, but the rest of the team. The optimal addition to such a build would be a buffer/debuffer that spreads beneficial effects or weakens enemies.

It is also worth noting that the legendary Herta values allies who can attack frequently and thus accumulate stacks of Interpretation, which means that similar units can be considered for the remaining support positions. For example, Lingsha not only heals well, but also actively deals damage with a bonus attack.

Budget options with only epic characters for beginners:

Character 1Character 2Character 3Character 4Features
Dan Heng
Yukong
Asta
March 7
Natasha
A composition of starting characters that will be relevant for most of the content thanks to high damage from Dan Heng, receiving additional support from free Asta and the former Ace. For the last slot, you can use March 7 for shields. If the team is low on HP all the time, it makes sense to use a healer.
Sushang
Physical MC
Qingque
Herta
Guinaifen
Yukong
Gallagher
Similar to the previous team, the main DD is placed in the first slot. One area damage dealer is added as an additional source of DPS, which will allow you to destroy groups of monsters faster. Since the victims will also die faster, you can limit yourself to only one shielder or healer.
Hook
Arlan
Serval
Pela
Tingyun
Yukong
Fire MC
A team with area DPS. Pela lowers enemy defense and removes 1 buff from the target; Tingyun increases ATK and infuses energy. The Foxian Pilot buffs allies. The Trailblazer deals additional damage and distributes shields.

In a separate guide, you can find best team builds in Honkai: Star Rail.

Conclusion

Yukong

Yukong is a support with an imaginary element type, following the Path of Harmony. With her abilities, the heroine increases the team's power thanks to bonuses to ATK, crit dmg and crit rate. At the same time, the head of the Sky-Faring Commission is absolutely not demanding in terms of setup and even without legendary equipment copes with her task perfectly. It is enough to gain speed and energy recovery so that she benefits other team members.

The main feature of the former ace is the imposition of the Roaring Bowstrings status, on which all of her buffs directly depend. However, if there should be no problems with the skill initially, without the sixth eidolon it becomes much more difficult to guess the moment to use the ultimate, since the ult itself does not restore the Bowstring stacks. To some extent, this unit pushes you to think in advance, monitor the sequence of turns and set priorities to get the maximum impact in battle.

We hope that with the help of the prepared material you were able to create a strong build for Yukong in Honkai: Star Rail. Feel free to ask any questions about the character in comments, so that the author or other players are able help you.
