Advantages and disadvantages of the Ogre Kingdoms

Warhammer Total War 3 Ogre Kingdoms

Ogre strengths include:

  • An onslaught of ogres, thanks to which each fighter not only deals devastating damage, but also easily leaves the enemy environment.
  • Unique artillery, moreover, capable of fighting on equal terms in close combat.
  • Increased speed, due to which the ogres easily catch up with any infantry in the game.
  • Excellent cannon fodder, superior to analogues of other races.

The disadvantages are:

  • The low level of armor of the vast majority of units.
  • The complete absence of flying units, without which you can easily lose control of the enemy during the battle.
  • The absence of classic shooters capable of quickly inflicting point damage.

Lords

At the time of the release of the game, only two Legendary Lords are available to the Ogre Kingdoms, which are significantly different from each other. However, they have no branches personal skills to strengthen the troops, so it will not be possible to assemble a unique army.

Grisus Zlatozub

The only thing that can please the Supreme Tyrant is a new recipe for a gourmet dish. Needless to say, the mere thought of the divine bear made the Tyrant descend from the mountains.

Grisus Zlatozub

The campaign as Greasus is pretty easy, as he starts in the middle of the Worlds Edge Mountains, surrounded by ogre allies. This allows you to conclude many trade and defensive alliances from the very first moves. Lord's Special Skills significantly increase income through 50% bonuses to strikes.

Zlatozub himself actually turns out to be very weak melee fighter, even considering quite outstanding characteristics. The problem lies in the extremely slow attacks that prevent Greasus from realizing his damage.

Scrug the Butcher

Hearing the roar of the Bear God, the legendary prophet could not resist the temptation to bring the Great Mouth of the god himself.

Scrug the Butcher

Scrug the Butcher - the easiest campaign in Game. Not only does he start his campaign in the very corner of the map, but also in his starting opponents he only has the Empire and the Skaven. This allows the Butcher to swirl across the map, both taking over multiple provinces and simply raiding them endlessly.

In combat, Skrag is a very powerful mage. Schools of the Great Maw, capable of single-handedly burning several units. In addition, due to the impressive characteristics, the lord is very strong in close combat. In addition, Skrag significantly reduces the content of the Devourers, which are the basis of his army.

Features of the faction

Ogre kingdoms, as expected, have a small number of mechanics that are understandable to almost any player. Excellent economy, excellent set of troops, benevolent attitude of most factions - the best choice on any difficulty.

Camps

Despite the standard mode of capturing and developing settlements, ogres have one of the coolest features in the game. Anywhere on the map they are able to deploy a field camp serving faction capital.

Ogre camps

The number of capital camps depends on technology, so it is advisable not to place them at random. Camps bring a huge amount of gold, both in buildings and bonuses for looting nearby settlements.

It is the camps that allow you to hire creatures of tiers 3 and 5, which are not available in ordinary settlements.

When erecting the corresponding buildings, the camps replenish the meat and health of the units. Moreover, each camp acts as a combat-ready formation, because 60% discount for the maintenance of units allows you to make a garrison of the most powerful creatures of the faction.

Titles

Ogre titles

By performing various feats, each outstanding ogre is awarded titles. They act simultaneously as a social ladder and an object of boasting. This feature has found its place in the game. However, unlike the dark elf Power names, titles can be changed each time their conditions are met. This allows you to prepare troops for a specific enemy.

Order

Ogre Orders

As world famous mercenaries, once every 10 moves Ogres receive all sorts of missions from various factions. As a rule, this is the destruction of armies and settlements, because it is this skill that ogres are famous for. The reward for completing them will be gold and reputation points. Nothing complicated, besides, the tasks do not have clear deadlines, accumulating in the journal.

Meat

Ogre unique resource symbolizing them love for food. Don't miss the opportunity to resupply when the opportunity arises, as each army consumes 10 meat on the go. In addition, by spending meat before the battle, you can significantly increase the power of the troops before the attack.

The surplus of such a valuable resource can always be presented as a gift to the Great Mouth. As a reward for this, you can get one of several extremely powerful power-ups that last the same 10 moves.

Army of the Ogre Kingdoms

The ogre army, for all its might, is quite specific. All units, apart from the Gnoblars, are quite small in number. Because of this, the army easily gets stuck in battles with numerical superiority. In addition, most of the troops are infantry without any unique features.

Army of the Ogre Kingdoms

Infantry

  • Gnoblars - cannon fodder with prohibitively low performance. They are only needed to bind enemy units in battle.
  • Gnoblars Hunters - a unit with the possibility of a long-range attack, however, rather weak. The ability to slow the enemy looks more interesting, but only if the gnoblars are standing still.

Monstrous Infantry

  • Bull Ogres - a set of several types of monstrous infantry, strong in attack. Various versions have either shields or extra damage against infantry.
  • Ironbelly - armored ogres equipped with armor-piercing attack. Able to hold an enemy strike for a very long time.
  • Devourers are an armor-piercing unit with bonuses against infantry. They are very strong in attack, but have a prohibitively low level of armor. The forward deployment capability allows them to be thrown behind enemy lines.
  • Cannibals - a set of several types of monstrous infantry, which are bull ogres with increased characteristics. They also have either shields or bonus damage against infantry. The version with pistols that deal unexpectedly decent damage looks interesting.

Monstrous Cavalry

  • Sorrow's Fang Cavalry - a set of familiar all the ogres from the second part. Strong, fast and very tenacious. Versions with different weapons again either have weak shields or additional damage against infantry.
  • Crushers – two squads of riders with the same characteristics, differing only in the presence of a shield or a bonus against infantry. They are a stronger version of the Woefang Cavalry, so hire them as soon as you can.

Monsters

  • Flock of sabertooths - a fast detachment serving as analogues of dogs of other races. Only needed to finish off retreating units. The hunter can improve the saber teeth quite well through a personal talent tree.
  • Giant - the standard giant from the second part. A strong, disciplined and tenacious fighter, but the level of armor leaves much to be desired.
  • Stonehorn - the strongest monster in the game, combining huge damage and armor level. An almost impenetrable monster that, if played alone, destroys several units per battle. The harpoon version gets a ranged attack that works even while moving.

Artillery

  • pigspitters - a long-range squad that fires from hand cannons. I have impressive firepower, due to which they are equally effective against any type of troops. However, they are very vulnerable to close combat, so they need cover.
  • Gnoblar Junk Thrower - a long-range catapult, devoid of any armor-piercing. Because of this, it's only useful against low-level enemies.
  • iron launcher - the strongest artillery in the game, deals devastating damage. Despite the low range of the shot, it moves very quickly on the battlefield. In addition, she is able to stand up for herself in close combat, thanks to her armor-piercing attack and high armor.
