Developers' answers on what depends on getting into the top of the list and what equipment is best balanced.
Hello tankers! Wotpack is with you and we continue to get acquainted with the main aspects of the game and certain points on which the developers shed some clarity and showed statistics on how the matchmaker works in WoT.
Last time global changes balancer happened in a patch 0.9.22but it is constantly being improved. As the developers say, learn. Tries to make team setups so that they are more balanced in terms of vehicle type. Now the definition of "wheelers" as a separate class is being introduced to avoid situations when a team with a wheeled LT is opposed to a second team with a tracked LT. The number of battles with three self-propelled guns is reduced.
Let's look at the popularity of tech levels first. More fairly the balancer works at high levels:
- 17% players at lvl 10
- 17% players lvl 9
- 27% players at lvl 8
Next there is a decrease:
- 5% players at lvl 7
- 5% players at lvl 6
At the lowest levels, it is already much more difficult to form equivalent teams:
- 6% players at lvl 5
- 3% players at lvl 4
- 3% players at lvl 3
- 5% players at lvl 2
- 5% players at lvl 1
These are average figures. Do not forget that the formation of the queue depends time of day (although it differs in some regions, so choose the server closest to yours). Current server list and locations:
Also for the time of heavy loads include servers RU 12 RU 13 (both in Moscow):
Even weather affects server load, because when it's raining or severe frosts outside, most people prefer to stay at home. Another factor is holidays, seasons holidays/holidays (and some players take vacations for events on the Global Map).
All this to some extent affects the formation of teams in terms of top / middle / bottom of the list. Therefore, now let's see how the balancer copes with this in April 2020. As can be seen from the previous statistics, Level 8 is the most popular among the players and 2 main reasons:
- you can play for fun without a premium account without fear of losing money;
- the main level for farming silver on premium tanks.
Most often, the "eights" play single-level battles -31%. Two-tier at the bottom of the list with "nines" - 24%. three-level at the bottom of the list with "tens" - 19%.
Less frequent cases of balancing:
- levels 9-8-7 with a figure eight in the middle— 8%;
- levels 8-7 with the "eight" in the top - 12%;
- levels 8-7-6 with the "eight" right in the "chocolate" - 6%.
Tenth level it is quite clear why they roll out into battle - after all, the most interesting cars are there. Moreover, it is better to pass many LBZ just on the “tens”. Yes, and the owners of tanks for the "Globalka" regularly roll out equipment at random.
On the ninth levels the gameplay is more comfortable than on the eighth, since there are no battles with a difference of 2 levels. Moreover, many of the weapons are already close to the tops of their branches, so you can successfully fight with the “tens”. Here, the developers are trying to introduce more promotional tanks for various events (Steel Hunter, Front Line, Ranked Battles). Therefore, here the number of single-level battles will only increase in the future.
The rest of the levels are mostly passable, only some players stay there for 3 reasons:
- bend newbies on imb tanks and raise the stat;
- upgrade the crew (there are quite a lot of good premium tanks);
- farm on pumped vehicles (although now this is already a rarity, since there are premium tanks for bonds and marathons are regularly held, and besides, at any time now you can get free premium tank level 8).
And finally, we draw your attention to the fact that the balancer remembers only the level of battles in which you were determined. It is not affected by the tank or the account as a whole.. He tries to distribute as fairly as possible.
What do you think of the current balancer? Does it suit you or would you like to change something?
