Claret Guide in Zenless Zone Zero — a representative of the Gunsmith class, whose damage scales with defense and critical chance. The specialty's unique feature is that the Anomaly gauge is replaced with "Wound" charges. These gradually accumulate as you damage enemies and are spent to inflict the "Cripple" status effect—this mechanic allows for additional area-of-effect damage.
The class also has a distinct set of stats: attack damage is completely absent, a cleave modifier is used when calculating damage, and critical hits can trigger twice. This greatly limits gear and ally choices—only Gunsmith boosters provide a basic defense boost, and only a few supports can provide useful buffs for them.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Claret is a strong and independent hero with easy-to-understand mechanics. However, as an early Gunsmith, she has limited allies and isn't yet able to utilize all the buffs built into her skill set.
| Strengths | Weaknesses |
| Buffs the cleave damage and build rate of Wound, which is useful for future Gunsmiths and other users of the mechanic. | Attack power and crit damage buffs are useless for Gunsmiths, so Claret has poor synergy with the vast majority of characters. |
| The main priority in this build is defense and critical chance. Other stats are optional and don't require balancing. | Her Electric damage type forces her to compete with a large number of high-tier agents. She'll only demonstrate exceptional strength in content focused on Cripple and Multi-Crit. |
| Can trigger a counterattack assist that briefly immobilizes the enemy and builds up a large amount of stun. | Until other Gunsmiths appear, she won't reach her full potential: synergistic allies will help her stack "Wounds" faster. This could also make her demanding of her team's investment in the long run. |
| Despite its limitations, a fully budget build is available, making it suitable for F2P players and newcomers. |
The Best Builds for Claret in ZZZ
The workshop heiress needs to be upgraded defense и CRIT Rate to the maximum possible values. Among the optional stats, it will benefit from penetration and a bonus to electrical damage.
Collect critical damage to the heroine do not do it, because when calculating damage, Gunsmiths use a new characteristic - cleaving damageClaret's is 150%, and for now, it can be increased with buffs from Kolyada's Potentials and Roxy's Proficiency. However, critical damage isn't wasted; it's converted into a 0,35% critical chance.
Rating of amplifiers
The class weapon gives Claret a boost to basic protection, so the higher its rarity and primary stat buff, the better it is. The heroine will be able to activate the passives of all available "balls," and they will be useful, but of varying strength.
| Amplifier | The effect | By recommendation |
![]() Scarlet thirst (5⭐) Basic protection: 29-431 CRIT Rate: 19-48% |
+25-35% to the critical hit chance of the agent with this item, +15-25% to electrical damage. When the wearer launches a Enhanced Special Attack or inflicts Cripple, it deals 12-20% More Electrical Sharp Damage over 40 sec. Repeated casts refresh the duration. |
The Signal provides the largest base defense bonus, so damage scales better. The weapon also increases critical chance, helping it reach optimal values above 100%. |
![]() Hematopoietic casket (BP) Basic protection: 24-356 CRIT Rate: 8-20% |
When an agent with this item has a critical hit chance greater than 100%, for every 1% above that value, the damage they deal is increased by 0,48-0,8%, but no more than 24-40%. | Offers the smallest bonus to damage per hit, but provides a bonus to overall damage. This bonus is calculated up to 150% of the initial stat value. |
![]() Lucky Cat (4⭐) Basic protection: 24-356 CRIT Rate: 16-40% |
+8-12% to defense. When you launch a strengthened special attack, your defense increases by another 8-12% for 40 sec. Repeated launches refresh the duration. |
A budget option available at the toy store on Sixth Street. It features a high defense% buff and a decent boost to critical chance. |
What drives to install
The heroine needs plates that contain bonuses to defense, damage, overall damage, or penetration.
| Set and its effects | Features |
![]() Thorny rose 2 Piece: protection +16%. 4 Piece: +15% damage to the wearer. If the agent with this item has at least 1000/1800 defense, their critical hit chance is increased by 8/16%. |
A full set increases all necessary stats, but requires up to 1800 defense to utilize the maximum bonus. |
The best set of "halves" is "Dyatlokor-electro" (k/sh +8%). If you managed to achieve optimal critical chance through sub-stats, then you can set "Thunderous Heavy Metal" (electric damage +10%), Soul Rock (protection +16%) or Fugu-Electro (penetration +8%).

Claret's Squad Guide in Zenless Zone Zero
The girl needs buffers that deal defensive, cleave, and general damage. Those that can reduce enemy defense and attribute resistance, as well as pull opponents to a single point, would also be helpful.
Common attack damage and crit buffs don't suit her, so most supports don't pair well with her. Furthermore, the popular "Lord of the Mountain" stun set won't benefit her, requiring optimization of her teammate build.
Best allies
Only some characters of the Intimidation and Support classes have this specific set of buffs:
| Character | Features |
![]() Roxy (Intimidation, Wind) |
Buffs cleave damage, extends the stun duration, and increases overall damage against stunned enemies. Thanks to the wind attribute, it can activate Infusion, which restores Claret's energy by 300 decibels. |
![]() |
Before her release, Roxy was a strong stunner thanks to her stun extension, versatile damage bonus, and ability to trigger additional attack chains. |
![]() |
After acquiring "Images of Potential," she begins buffing her cleave damage. She also increases her targeting ability during a stun with her bonus proc active. |
![]() |
Can increase damage taken by enemies from other attributes after assists and enhanced special attacks. If Kolyada isn't available or hasn't yet upgraded her "images," Lycaon can be used. |
![]() |
Claret's best support due to her defense and penetration buffs. However, to achieve this, she needs to unlock "Samples of Potential." |
As a strong primary damage dealer, the Blacksmith can be combined with other Intimidation-based characters. It's important to note that their ATK or Critical Damage bonuses won't be beneficial.
You can also consider other Supports. Agents that can summon additional C/A units to help Claret extend Crimson Brand are best.
In some squads, you can take a Defense Agent in place of the support, who will provide shields, healing, and additional bonuses.
You can also use Cissius (Attack, Electro), which allows the electro damage to ignore enemy defense, deals additional damage and helps with stunning quite well.
Best team samples
Strong units for Claret include Alexandrina and Roxy. Norma or the budget Lycaon and Kolyada can also make good allies, especially after upgrading the latter's Sample Potential.

How the skills work
In ZZZ, all of Claret's damage is sharp. It doesn't fill the anomaly "circle," but rather accumulates up to three levels on enemies. "Wounds" - this mechanic is reminiscent of the "Silver Star" Soldier 0With enhanced special attacks, the heroine spends "Wounds" and deals area damage. "Maim" (Maim!!).
The workshop's heiress also became the first character to feature a counterattack assist mechanic—press the character switch button at the right moment to have her join the fight. If successful, the enemy will accumulate a large amount of stun and be frozen for a couple of seconds.
- Basic attack (b/a): when Claret is in a state The Crimson Brand, she can combine b/a with special attacks into simple and powerful combos.
- Evasion: counterattack after dodging does not waste timer "The Crimson Brand".
- Help Inflicts a stack of "Wounds" on an additional attack. Crimson Brand grants upgraded versions of moves.
- Enhanced Special Attack starts the timer "The Crimson Brand" for 16 seconds. Other moves can activate up to three "Cripples" in a row.
- Chain of attacks (c/a): A familiar set of skills that deal massive damage. During these skills, the timer stops. "The Crimson Brand".
- Basic Passive Ability Describes acute damage that scales with defense, the Multi-Crit mechanic, and "Wounds." The "Crimson Brand" condition increases the heroine's critical chance by 30% and the Wounds build rate by 50%, and after a perfect dodge, it increases damage by an additional 15%.
- Additional ability Becomes active if there's an Intimidation agent, another Gunsmith, or a character with the Electric attribute in the squad. The girl gains 300 decibels if someone in the squad activates Infusion. Other Gunsmiths in the team gain the "Ferocity" status after activating "Cripple," which increases their cleave damage by 25% for 40 seconds.
The order of leveling skills
Traits > Special Attack = Basic Attack > Chain Attack > Evasion = Assist
As the main damage dealer, the girl will have to level up her moves evenly:
- В main passive skill The bonuses from the Crimson Brand are recorded, so it is important to upgrade it first.
- In battle, Claret actively combines basic и special attacks, causing the main damage with them.
- C/A and Ultimate They deal a lot of damage on their own, so upgrading them is also important.
- By usefulness evasion и help They're equal, but they should be upgraded last. She'll have to dodge a lot during combat to get the damage bonus described in the bonus. Upgrading Assistance increases her counterattack and stun.
The best eidoses
The best constants of Claret are the first one, the second one и sixth:
- M1 — a good early buff. Increases the Crimson Brand timer and allows her to ignore targets' resistance to electrical damage.
- M2 Increases damage by accelerating the accumulation of "Wounds" and the "Mutilation" buff.
- M6 Completes the mental picture and allows you to activate Mangle after a chain of attacks or an Ultimate without wasting Wound.
Investment priority: signal > M1The weapon helps achieve optimal stat values and provides several decent buffs. The constellation has comparatively fewer buffs, but it provides more comfort.
How to play as Claret
Instead of energy, the blacksmith spends on special attacks spicinessWhen there is enough, she enters the "Crimson Brand" state, the timer for which is located under the portrait.
In it, the heroine attacks with enhanced damage/damage, assists, counterattacks after dodging, and special attacks. The state initially lasts 16 seconds and is extended by 3 seconds after each kill, and the targeting ability additionally extends Crimson Brand by 50 seconds.
Due to the need to maintain a state, Claret is a challenging damage dealer with tight timing and team dependencies:
- At the start of combat, attack with a combo of non-lethal and special attacks, stacking Wound, activating Cripple, and dodging enemy attacks. Call in other squad members as needed to refresh your buffs.
- Before stunning We recommend activating at least three "Maim" (Maim!!). Chain of attacks Call for the Intimidation Agent.
- Choose Claret and cancel next c/a.
- Clamp b/a and attack until you accumulate three levels of Wound.
- If possible, switch to Rina and use her special attack to refresh buffs and activate the central attack.
- Call the workshop heiress again and cancel next choice.
- Use it in the last seconds of the stun Ultimate, and then pinch skill button to deal cripple damage three times.
Is it worth knocking out Claret?
Claret is a promising damage dealer who utilizes the unique Mangle and Multi-Crit mechanics. Her damage scales with defense and is dependent on her Critical Chance, greatly simplifying her build and further stat optimization. However, choosing allies can be challenging: only a few standard characters offer useful buffs, and she will only be able to demonstrate her full effectiveness with the addition of other Gunsmiths.
