Best mods for Dragon's Dogma 2 will make it easier to explore a large open world and reduce the time required to level up and obtain resources. Third-party add-ons allow you to use any weapon, regardless of the character’s class, relax in hotels for free, and much more. Considering that save slots are limited and gold is not so easy to get, modifications can be very useful.
In this guide we will tell you how to install mods in DD2. Let's present the top best modifications that will help you earn more gold by selling items and manage saves, eliminate problems with stamina and weight, set up automatic healing for your squad, and improve drops from enemies.
How to install mods on Dragon's Dogma 2
You can install mods in Dragon's Dogma 2 manually, or use a manager that will drag and drop files yourself. For manual installation, download the add-on archive and unpack it to any folder not related to the game. To download the mod, transfer all data to the Steam folder with the game installed, for example:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dragons Dogma 2 or D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dragons Dogma 2
Mod Manager
You can simplify the installation and configuration of mods by downloading a third-party manager - just drag and drop add-ons in .PAK format into the open program window. Activate modifications with one click or delete them through the general download list.
To install, download, unpack and run the program, then select “Dragon's Dogma 2” as the game. Here you can combine mods and additions to them so that everything is saved in a sheet under one name.
The best mods for Dragon's Dogma 2
Most mods for DD2, as well as for other games, are posted on Nexus Mods, where we selected the top best modifications and talked about them further.
DLSS update
Improves graphics quality and improves performance by generating new frames. The add-on is only suitable for video cards Nvidia RTX 40 series and may lag - with the release of new patches, the mod itself may have to be updated. In a separate manual they showed how else can you increase FPS in the game by changing settings and using third-party programs.
There is another add-on for drawing frames - DLSS3, it is also designed for Nvidia RTX 40 series graphics cards.
Over-the-shoulder camera
With the Over the Shoulder Camera and Wider FOV mod, you can look over the character's shoulder, and the viewing angle becomes much wider. The camera distance does not change when entering small locations (houses, rooms), the open world or entering combat, as in the original game, but the view narrows when climbing monsters. The modification is at the development stage, so various bugs may occur in cut scenes.
Improved map icons
“Better UI - Colorful Map Icons” replaces the faded original icons, almost indistinguishable from the texture of the map, with colorful icons. The modification does not add anything extra - only colors to better see the images on the map.
Save Manager
The manager tracks and downloads saves, which you can switch between during the game. The program provides an almost endless number of slots for recording progress. A separate manual explains in detail where to find and how to add save slots, without using third-party add-ons, and gave detailed instructions for working with “DD2 Save Manager”.
Setting the cost of items
Using a mod, you can set new parameters for goods in the store: make them practically free, increase the cost, or remove weight. It is better to adjust all settings through the mod manager. Please note that the options will conflict with each other, so do not mix them, but choose one of the proposed options.
Download the mod “Item Tweaks – Cost 1 Gold – No Weight – x10 Sell Price”.
“Higher Item Sell Price” is another addition that affects sales: you can sell consumable items, armor or weapons to merchants at 2, or even 10 times the real price. In the original version of the game, things are sold relatively cheaply, so you won’t be able to earn a decent amount from trading alone. The mod completely solves this problem.
Updating the assortment in Wernworth stores
Crazy's Shop is adding 255 new products to Wernworth stores: camp kits, moving stones and awakenings, rift crystals, gold bugs and much more. All merchants' supplies are restored within 1 game day.
We recommend installing "Crazy's Shop" first, and then installing the "Item Tweaks - Cost 1 Gold - No Weight - x10 Sell Price" add-on, which will reduce the cost of items to 1 gold coin. Then you can buy all the goods cheaply and make the passage easier.
Increased load capacity
The modification adds a ring that can be purchased at the start from the merchant in the Border Camp. Decoration increases carrying weight character from 5 to 20, 50 or 500 kg, depending on what settings you choose in the mod manager.
Increase the effect of gold bugs
Gold bugs, in the original game adding only 0.15 kg to the character’s carryable weight, when using the mod they give 1.05, 12.15 or 105 kg of additional load. The modification also increases the maximum exchange distance with a pawn from 30 to 999 m, allowing you to transfer items to the team in almost any situation.
The author does not recommend using the add-on in an online game, to avoid bugs with the pawn: it may not be visible to other players. Find a couple of bugs in the open world or install Crazy's Shop to immediately buy all the bugs and increase your character's carrying capacity to the maximum.
Use any weapon and armor
The modification allows you to use any weapon and armor, regardless of character class. Thus, fighters will be able to arm themselves with a bow or staff, not changing vocations. There are bugs with pawns, as well as some equipment, but these can be easily fixed by simply returning the correct weapon to your hand.
Infinite stamina outside of combat
"Infinite Stamina Out of Combat" sets all locations to infinite stamina outside of combat, like in cities. The modification greatly facilitates exploration of the large open world.
An alternative modification can be used to adjust stamina when using skills and performing general actions, such as sprinting. Jumping while running, slime, fighter counter stance, and some mage spells still drain a bit of stamina.
If previous additions conflict and for some reason do not work, you can try another mod that also removes stamina costs outside of combat.
Using NPC Hairstyles
The add-on replaces some hairstyles in the editor with unique options found only on NPCs. So, hairstyle 12 is replaced with Ulrika's hair, 24 with Wilhelmina's, and 57 with Disa's. You can install all options at once or select only one.
Weightless objects
The mod removes weight from consumable items, weapons and armor, but does not affect items from the DLC in any way. If you improve your equipment, the weight may increase slightly, but will still remain below the original game settings. Now you can carry a bunch of ore, clothes and other items in your inventory without worrying about their weight.
There is another simple addition that removes the weight from the backpacks only. If the previous modification conflicts with third-party files, you can try “Zero Weight Campkits”.
Automatic healing
Sets up automatic healing for the entire squad and the main character, restoring spent health points every second. You can remove a healer from the team by replacing another important one pawn, and make battles with monsters easier.
Free stay at the hotel
This modification completely removes fees for hotel stays. You can constantly spend the night or relax in hotels in different cities to make a second save slot for free.
Improved drop
With the “Higher Drop Rate or Number” modification, after defeating a monster you can collect more valuable loot. Only works on enemies that can throw items. If nothing has dropped from a mob before, then with the installation of the mod a new drop will not appear.
Instant teleportation
Instantly teleport to key locations on the map without using a travel stone or return crystals. The game will have a list of points where you can quickly move, even if there are no teleporters installed there. It will greatly facilitate the exploration of the big world, completing quests and save time on traveling between cities.
Functional pawns
With this mod, the main pawns take on the role of guilds and inns. You can interact with your companion to open the vault, change your vocation, and upgrade your skills. You don’t have to travel to major cities every time to dump collected loot into your chest, or change your character class.
Cheap change of appearance
Early in the game the book "The Art of Transformation" To change the appearance of the main character and the main pawn is quite expensive. Using the mod, you can add the volume to the first traveling merchant in Melva and Filbert in Vernworth. The item will cost only 10 gold - the price is much more pleasant than 500 rift crystals, which take a long time to farm in a regular game.
Materials and equipment store
Materials are not sold in regular shops, so to improve equipment you have to wander around the open world for a long time and kill monsters. Sometimes leveling up requires rare items that only drop from bosses. This add-on adds all possible materials, armor and weapons that are in the game to the Vernworth shops. Players will no longer have to go to the Sacred Grove to purchase an Elven Bow - just go to Roderick's Smithy.
Free equipment upgrades
If you don’t want to spend time and money collecting resources to upgrade weapons and armor, then install an add-on that allows you to improve your equipment at no cost. Contact different gunsmiths and check what stats they can raise and what effects they can add. At the later stages of the game, the mod will be especially useful, because the better the weapon, the more expensive it will cost to upgrade it.
Trainer Dragon's Dogma 2
Fling's trainer includes third-party cheats that you can use to customize the game to your liking. Using the sliders, you can remove the cost of stamina, set endless health, change the flow of day and night time, edit the character's characteristics and literally become invulnerable.
