В Genshin Impact The spearwoman Hu Tao is imbued with the Pyro element, and her gameplay is primarily based on charged attacks, during which she quickly flutters across the field. Because of her element, she synergizes well with the Hydro element, summoning Steam onto the field, allowing her to inflict significant damage on enemy targets. In many ways, the playstyle of the Wangsheng Ritualist can be considered dangerous, as her damage output increases significantly when her health is low.
In this guide, we'll cover all the nuances of the heroine's skill set, discuss her preferred weapons, and suitable artifact sets. We'll also outline the optimal rotation for playing at low HP to maximize damage output.

How to Get the Character
Hu Tao can be obtained through the "Moment of Blossom" character event prayer. She last appeared in Part II. the 5.1 update, starting 29 October to 18 November 2024. All constellations can only be pulled for only when the banner is active.
To avoid missing character reruns, keep an eye on banner schedule.
Strengths and Weaknesses
The funeral parlor owner has her own unique characteristics that make her a powerful damage dealer, but also a weakness. Let's look at the character's main strengths and weaknesses to understand how to build Hu Tao.
| Strengths | Weaknesses |
| High damage multipliers that become even higher if HP drops to 50% or below. | Paramita Papilio (elemental skill) consumes HP after cast. |
| Having your own healing sufficient to maintain health at an optimal level. | Difficult mechanics that involve positioning and the need to fight with half your health. |
| Elemental skill increases ATK depending on HP, which allows you to have 4.000 HP in a stance. | To maximize DPS, it is important to balance HP, Elemental Mastery, and Crits in your build. |
| Passive skill after the end of the stance increases crit. chance for the rest of the team. | Stamina problems. You will either need to adapt to cancel the animation of a charged attack, or pull for C1. |
| As you level up, critical damage increases, making it easier to select characteristics for artifacts. | Certain dependence on specific supports (Xingqiu or Yelan), who are indispensable allies. |
| Performs well both against single targets thanks to her skill, and against a group of opponents due to her elemental burst. |
The Best Hu Tao Builds in Genshin Impact
Hu Tao build should include stats such as critical mass and HP. However, given the character's specifics, she will also need EM, if you're playing based on reactions. The spearwoman will spend most of her time in the elemental skill stance, dealing elemental damage, so Bonus Pyro goblet for her is better that an HP/EM one.
ATK is insignificant, since the required increase is given after activating the electric skill.
Recommended Stats
Stats that are recommended to look for in artifacts:
| Artifact | Main characteristic | Additional stats |
|---|---|---|
![]() | HP (fixed) | CRIT DMG Crit Rate HP% Elemental Mastery |
![]() | Attack Power (fixed) | Elemental Mastery ATK % CRIT DMG Crit Rate |
![]() | HP% / Elemental Mastery | CRIT DMG Crit Rate HP% / Elemental Mastery Energy Recovery % / Attack Power % |
![]() | Bonus Pyro Damage % | CRIT DMG Crit Rate HP% Elemental Mastery |
![]() | CRIT damage / CRIT Rate | CRIT damage / CRIT Rate Elemental Mastery HP% Attack Power % / Energy Recovery % |
It's also advisable to obtain HP, chance, and crit as additional stats. Optimal stat values:
- HP (health): starting from 25-000 and up to 30.
- Elemental Mastery: 250 and more.
- Critical mass: ratio 1:2 (60 ksh and 120 ku) or higher.
- Energy recharge: 130% and more.
- ATK: 1100-1200 and more.
Weapon Tier List
It is recommended to select weapons based on the following parameters:
- bonus to crit or hit chance;
- Increased elemental damage;
- increased HP and elemental mastery.
Gear with an ATK bonus shouldn't be discarded either, as this stat stacks with the health bonus. However, it's best to look for this stat in conjunction with Critical Hit or Chance, as attack power alone is of little use.
| Name | Passive Effects | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
![]() ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Basic attack 46-608 Critical Damage 14,4%-66,2% | Increases HP by 20-40%. Also grants an ATK bonus equal to 0,8-1,6% of max HP of the character equipped with this weapon. When a hero's health drops below 50%, their attack power is additionally increased by 1-1,8% of their max HP. | Khoma's Staff is a signature weapon and one of the best replicas for any main damage dealer. It perfectly matches the gameplay of the funeral parlor owner, increasing her HP and ATK based on her current health. Its high critical damage, combined with its passive effect, makes the Staff a formidable weapon. |
![]() ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Basic attack 44-542 Critical Hit Chance 9.6%-44.1% | Increases the attack bonus of the character equipped with this weapon by 52-104% of their EM. In addition, hitting an enemy with an elemental skill activates the Dream of the Scarlet Sands effect and provides additional 28-56% attack bonus, which also depends on elemental mastery. The effect stacks up to 3 times. | A good alternative if you don't have a signal and play through reactions. Low ATK isn't as critical, and the crit chance combined with crit damage makes it easier to balance stats. However, it's important to note that you won't be able to obtain all the stacks, as the damage from the heroine's E.S.P. skill is calculated from the Blood Flower Mark, not the stance activation itself. This means maintaining levels every 10 seconds becomes virtually impossible (the flower doesn't deal damage immediately after using the skill). |
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base Damage 48-674 Critical Hit Chance 4,8-22,1% | On hit, increases attack power by 3,2-6% for 6 seconds. The effect can stack up to 7 times and appears no more than once every 0,3 seconds. At level 7, damage dealt is increased by 12-24%. | This weapon is the easiest to obtain among the legendaries, as it drops from the standard banner. Moreover, the spear is perfect for a girl, and she easily gains stacks due to the fact that she spends most of her time using her elemental skill, meaning she "hits enemies." |
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Basic attack 42-510 Critical Hit Chance 6,0-27,6% | If there are at least 3 characters of different elements in the squad, elemental mastery increases by 120-240 units. | Excellent spear from Battle PassProvides a critical chance, allowing you to focus on improving your critical hit stats and significantly increasing your Elemental Mastery. The bureau owner primarily plays through reactions in a squad consisting of heroes of various elements, so the passive effect is easy to activate. |
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Basic attack 41-454 Elemental Mastery 48-221 | Increases by 20-36% damage against enemies affected by Hydro or Pyro elements. | An excellent spear thanks to a large increase in elemental mastery and a passive that increases damage if enemies are under the Pyro or Hydro status (which will happen almost constantly). It is recommended to play with him in Vaporize squads, so as not to “break” the passive bonus. In addition, if you use this spear, it is better to set the clock in the artifacts to HP. |
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Basic attack 41-454 Critical Hit Chance 8%-36,8% | If there are 2 or more enemies nearby, then the attack power and defense are increased by 16-32%; if there are less than 2 enemies nearby, then the attack power is increased by 24-48%. | Another spear from Battle Pass — a perfectly decent option. The passive bonus will always work, and the heroine's low ATK isn't critical. Until you manage to get the above spears, it will be an excellent weapon. |
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Basic attack 42-510 Critical Damage 12-55,1% | Defeating an enemy grants additional 12-24% attack power. Lasts 30 seconds. and can stack up to 3 times. The duration of the added effects is independent of the others. | Purchased at Paimon's store for Starglitter. At maximum stacks, the weapons are incredibly powerful, but the condition for obtaining them is more specific than that of the Deathmatch. In addition, the passive effect does not work against bosses or single enemies. Can be used if you have extra Glitter, are severely short of crits, or have no alternatives. |
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Basic attack 42-510 Energy recharge 10%-45,9% | Using an elemental skill increases the damage of a normal or charged attack by 8-16% within 12 sec. The effect can stack up to 2 times. | Free craft weapons from Mondstadt, which can be obtained almost from the start. Has useful bonuses: increased damage of charged and normal attacks. In addition, it will allow you to ult more often by restoring energy in the main stat. |
![]() ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Basic attack 44-565 HP 6%-27,6% | When receiving healing, the character recovers 8 energy. The effect can occur once per 10 seconds and works even when the hero is not on the battlefield. | An alternative crafted spear from Fontaine. The weapon's effect doesn't synergize well with the girl's mechanics. However, she'll benefit from the HP boost, which accounts for most of her damage. It is recommended to consider this option only at the beginning of the game or in the absence of other copies, since even the Prototype looks more advantageous. |
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Basic attack 39–401 Critical Hit Chance 5,1% –23,4% | Increases normal attack damage by 24% –48%. | The best spear for beginners or as a transitional option, since to obtain it you only need to open chests in Liyue. In addition, it gives crit. chance and increases the damage of normal attacks. True, in this case, in rotation it is better to use charged attacks less often and ordinary ones more often, so that the passive works. |
Other equipment options can be found at weapon tier list.
Choosing Artifacts
Among the artifacts on Hu Tao, the most suitable are those that provide a bonus to elemental damage, elemental mastery, give a bonus to reactions or charged attacks.
| Name | Passive Effects | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
![]() ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 2 Piece: Increases Pyro damage bonus by 15%. 4 Piece: Increases the damage of the Overloaded and Burning statuses by 40%, and the damage of the Vaporize and Melt statuses by 15%. Using an elemental skill increases the effects of a set of two items by 50% for 10 seconds. Stacks up to 3 times. | One of the best sets. Although she can't reach the maximum number of stacks due to the long cooldown, the set performs very well. The heroine benefits from all the bonuses and also activates the passive effect without any problems. Recommended when playing via reactions, since otherwise the buffs become useless. |
![]() ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 2 Piece: Increases attack power by 18% 4 Piece: When using an elemental skill on a character with 15 or more energy, 15 energy is removed from them, but damage from normal, charged and plunging attacks is increased by 50% for 10 seconds. | Another excellent set. It's designed to increase damage for normal and charged attacks, but it also makes using the ultimate more difficult due to its energy drain mechanic. This can negatively impact survivability, as the heroine relies on elemental bursts for healing. Therefore, it's recommended to always use a shielder. The set is more versatile from building point of view, but more demanding in terms of implementation/rotation. |
![]() ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 2 Piece: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80. 4 Piece: For 8 sec. after trigerring an elemental reaction, the equipping character receives the following buffs, depending on the elements of their team members:
| If you play through reactions, but cannot get a full set of the Crimson Witch of Flames, you can use this set. It will give a significant increase to elemental mastery, which is extremely important, and will also allow you to use HP clock. The attack percentages will also not be superfluous if there is a second Pyro in the squad. |
![]() ![]() | 2 parts: Increases HP by 20%. 2 Piece: Increases Pyro damage bonus by 15%. 2 parts: Increases normal and charged attack damage by 15%. 2 Piece: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80. | The combinations of the considered artifacts are not much inferior to the complete sets. So, if you can get good pieces with the right stats, they can be better than a 4-piece set of Crimson Witch of Flames or Shimenawa's Reminiscence with bad stats. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 Piece: Increases shield strength by 35%. 4 Piece: While protected by a shield, increases normal and charged attack damage by 40%. | A perfectly acceptable alternative that provides excellent bonuses, increasing the damage of her normal and charged attacks by 40%. However, it's important to note that the passive effect only works while shielded, so having a suitable ally is essential. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 Piece: Increases normal and charged attack damage by 15%. 4 Piece: Increases normal and charged attack damage by 25% for 8 seconds. after using an elemental skill. | A good option at the beginning of an adventure. The set increases the damage of normal and charged attacks by a total of 40% (like the Retracing Bolide), which is quite a lot, especially at the start of the game. The only drawback is that the effect of a full set cannot be activated constantly due to the long cooldown of the E. |
In addition to the artifacts listed, there are other sets that can also be considered for a character. However, their passive effect is either impossible to implement completely or with certain nuances.
| Name | Passive Effects | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 parts: Increases normal and charged attack damage by 15%. 4 parts: Increases crit chance by 12% for 5 seconds when current HP increases or decreases. The effect can stack up to 3 times. | In most cases, she doesn't use her full kit very effectively, as she only loses HP once after using a skill, and receiving external damage is inconsistent, especially when playing with a shield. Her Elemental Burst is also unreliable in terms of HP restoration due to its limited use at the end of her rotation. She only rarely plays with healers. Sources of weak healing can be a way out, for example, Prototype Amber. This catalyst will make it easier to get the passive bonus through periodic healing. However, this does not guarantee that the buff will work consistently. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 parts: Increases Pyro resistance by 40%. 4 parts: Increases damage against enemies affected by Pyro by 35%. | The set only works in a mono-elemental team, since the main condition is the presence of Pyro status. The owner of the funeral bureau reveals herself best in her interactions with other elements. However, if you want to experiment and build a mono-Pyro squad, you can use this set to maximize damage. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 parts: Increases HP by 20%. 4 parts:Increases elemental skill and elemental burst damage by 10%. When the wielder takes damage, even they are off-field, the bonus is increased by 80%. The effect stacks up to 5 times and lasts 5 seconds. Each stack has its own countdown time. | In the case of the bureau owner, it is best to use only 2 parts. The full set works quite poorly on it for the following reasons:
|
If there is a choice between Crimson Witch of Flames and Shimenawa's Reminiscence, it is better to give preference to the set that is most comfortable to farm and easier for the player personally to implement:
- In terms of farming, the dungeon with Shimenawa wins in its usefulness, since the Emblem also drops there, and it's one of the best and most versatile sets, while the set farmed in the dame dungeon as the Scarlet Witch is used extremely rarely.
- In terms of damage, Pyro's set still wins, though not by much. The main argument in its favor is that the passive effect is easier to implement and doesn't force you to play without your ultimate.
Teams
The bureau's owner occupies the position of the main damage dealer, around whom the entire team is built. However, the classic build method isn't quite suitable for her due to mechanics that require playing with low health. For this reason, it's advisable to avoid pairing her with healers unless you want to sacrifice the high damage bonus. Shielders, buffers, and applicators, capable of sustaining elemental status effects on the enemy for extended periods, are more valuable.
Characters with the best synergy
Below are the most suitable allies for the girl. All characters are divided into roles.
Secondary damage dealer
A partial support that deals damage outside of combat and/or applies statuses to trigger reactions.
| Character | Element | Weapon | Effects |
|---|---|---|---|
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Reduces incoming damage, distributes permanent Hydro status, and has good damage from the ult. One of the best supports for a Vaporize team. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Allows you to free Xingqiu for the second squad, completely solving the issue with Hydro aura. During elemental burst, increases the damage dealt. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Capable of casting Hydro well on enemies. At the same time, her ultimate allows her to deal increased damage to enemies thanks to her bubble explosion and Omen effect. |
![]() | ![]() | Inflicts a lot of status and damage while in the pocket. When necessary, it can heal and also buffs damage with an elemental burst. | |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | At C0, triggers resonance (+25% attack power) and deals a lot of additional damage. At C1, reduces enemy Pyro resistance. At C6, grants a Pyro damage bonus to the entire group. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Provides resistance to attack interruption. Using an elemental skill, she deals damage from the pocket and transfers part of the damage that allies receive to herself. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Even though the heroine doesn't really need Pyro Resonance, she will receive a Pyro effect on enemies from the main character, which can be inflated by the Anemo character. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Free Cryo reactor/applicator. Needed to maintain Cryo status on enemies to create the Melt reaction. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Another good Cryo character for the squad. Buffs critical hit chance after using her ultimate thanks to her passive skill. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Acts as a secondary damage dealer and plays through the use of an elemental burst. In a support build, she is capable of maintaining her ultimate almost constantly and doing enormous damage. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Swirls, reduces enemy resistance, pulls, can extend status with the help of an ult, and distributes a bonus to elemental damage. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Works on a similar principle as Kazuha. However, instead of dealing elemental damage, grants elemental mastery. |
![]() | ![]() | Can create Geoshields with the Crystallize reaction on an ongoing basis. Passive talent increases elemental mastery by 125. | |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Possible replacement for Albedo in a team like "Walnut." With the heroine, Tiori plays exclusively as a secondary damage dealer, but isn't as good as Albedo due to the lack of an elemental mastery buff. |
![]() | ![]() | If you're playing with Combustion or Blossom, you won't find a better ally than Nahida. She'll not only boost your Elemental Mastery but also allow you to deal increased damage with your Reactions. | |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | An ally for playing with Overload. Reaction is weaker than Steam/Melt, and being a melee heroine, she'll knock mobs around. However, this combination is still playable, albeit with some nuances. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Another secondary damage dealer option for creating Overloaded. At the same time, during the ult it also helps the team recover energy faster. |
Supports
Full support that provides various buffs and protections for the main damage dealer.
| Character | Element | Weapon | Effects |
|---|---|---|---|
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Pyro resonance and additional damage. Also creates a strong shield (if rotated properly), and at the 6th constellation increases the damage of charged attacks by 15%. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Although the girl doesn't need healing, the buff from Bennett's Elemental Burst can easily compensate for the lack of a passive bonus. At the same time, the amount of healing can be controlled by leaving the circle. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | At C4, it creates a fairly strong shield. It can also deal damage while the bureau owner's elemental skill is on cooldown. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Due to the reduction in resistance to Pyro and Hydro, Sitlali fits well into most squads. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Grants a shield and inflicts Cryo status. Note that getting the +200 MS buff is nearly impossible for the heroine, as it only increases when her health is at 50% or higher. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Applies armor and deals damage from the pocket. At C4, buffs normal and charged attacks after using an elemental skill. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | The most powerful shield in the game, which also reduces the elemental and physical resistance of enemies in a small radius. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Increases the damage of normal attacks with an elemental burst. At C6 it also gives an increase in attack speed. Normal attacks can be used in rotation, so Yun Jin is a valid option, especially when paired with Zhongli. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Shilonen's healing can be minimized by under-specifying her defense stat in artifacts so it doesn't interfere with her passive. The only difficulty lies in distributing the buff through her set. Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City, since it requires the closure of an elemental reaction, and the bureau owner cannot cast Pyro outside the counter. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Can act both as a sub-dps for Burning or Bloom, and as a support thanks to the creation of a shield with an elemental skill. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | With her elemental burst, Increases the damage of the active character's normal elemental attacks. As in the case of Yun Jin, a buff for this type of strike will not be superfluous. At C6, becomes a good sub-dd. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Opens up the ability to play around plunge attacks, but provides unnecessary healing. The damage buff to such attacks partially compensates for this, but to minimize the effect, it's recommended to build Xian Yun as a sub-DD to limit the healing from her. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | This skill activates a shield that protects you when your HP is low. The chain will cluster enemies together and deal additional damage. |
Examples of strong teams
Below are example commands for Hu Tao with the characters discussed.
Classic teams (Vaporize, Melt, Overloaded and mono-Pyro)
Standard teams based on the interaction of Pyro with Hydro, Cryo, Electro, Anemo, Geo or Pyro.
| Character 1 | Character 2 | Character 3 | Character 4 | Features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() ![]() ![]() | The team focuses on applying more Hydro status effects to ensure the main damage dealer can deal damage throughout the entire stance while under Steam's reaction. Ye Lan and Xingqiu will not only provide constant Hydro damage but also increase their already massive damage output with Hydro Resonance, which provides a HP bonus. The supports will provide survivability and resistance reduction. |
![]() | ![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() | An alternative option with only one Hydro sub-DD, but an Anemo support. Citlali protects the squad from incoming damage and single-handedly holds the Frozen status on enemies hit by Hu Tao. Instead of Citlali, you can take Thoma for Pyro Resonance, but the damage will be less. |
![]() | ![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() | A Geo Resonance-based unit that allows the bureau's owner to be more effective against groups of enemies. Albedo provides a bonus to Elemental Mastery using Elemental Burst, and Zhongli protects with his sturdy shield, which can also be replaced with Shilonen. If you replace Albedo or Tiori with Yun Jin, she will increase the damage of her normal attacks. |
![]() | ![]() ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Instead of Albedo and Yun Jin, you can use Sucrose. Then there is no Geo Resonance, but in return more buffs are given to elemental mastery and it becomes possible to pull enemies together. Sucrose needs to Swirl Hydro, so it should go after Xingqiu/Yelan in rotation. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() | For the second Hydro position, to trigger the resonance that increases HP, you can consider Mona or Furina. Thoma will ensure the team's survivability thanks to the shield, but can swap with a Cryo support so as not to interfere with the status. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() ![]() | ![]() | A team using Meltdown with AoE Cryo damage and Resonance. If the Crystallize reaction shields aren't enough to keep the main damage dealer's HP high enough, you can use Layla instead of Rosaria. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() | Melt/Vaporize team. In this case, Ganyu needs to focus on the ult, and not the charged attacks. Ideally, she should have the Elegy for the End, but as an alternative, she can have The Stringless. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() ![]() | A squad where Kandakia and Ye Lan form a Hydro Resonance, which increases HP, beneficial for every squad member. Additionally, the main damage dealer will receive a bonus to normal attacks during an elemental skill. This is especially true if the 1st constellation is missing and there is not enough stamina to constantly activate charged attacks. At the same time, the 6th constellation is desirable for Candace, in order to impose more Hydro status together with Yelan. |
![]() | ![]() ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Group under the Melt reaction with Kaeya or Rosaria, which will also increase the crit chance using the ult, a shield from Diona, additional damage from the fire whirlwind of an elemental burst and the elemental skill of Xiangling. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() | A squad using Overcharge. This type of group may have issues knocking back mobs due to the specific nature of the reaction, and the overall damage will be lower than with Steam (since this reaction doesn't crit), but even so, the main damage dealer can easily play in this build. Especially with the first constellation, knocking back enemies becomes less critical. |
![]() | ![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() ![]() | Mono-Pyro squad. For the secondary damage dealer position, consider Xiangling or Daehyu, who will deal fire damage off the battlefield. Toma, Bennett, or Yanfei (C4) are meant to provide team survivability, though Bennett is more useful for buffs. Anemo characters dispel Pyro and carry Viridescent Venerer. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | A team against attacks while falling. Xian Yun provides a damage bonus and the ability to attack through attacks while falling, while Mona and Furina provide a buff. The Hydro Archon skill will reduce the main damage dealer's HP, which compensates for the healing from Xian Yun and allows them to maintain health below 50% while receiving a buff to Pyro damage. |
Dendro orders (Burning and Burgeon)
Specific teams aimed at interacting Dendro with Pyro and Hydro. In such teams, the heroine does not show herself as effectively as in classic ones, but they still remain workers.
| Character 1 | Character 2 | Character 3 | Character 4 | Features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | ![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() | Burgeon/Burning with increased reaction damage thanks to Nahida's buffs. At the same time, Zhongli’s shield will protect him from receiving damage that occurs after the explosion of blooms or the Burning effect. |
![]() | ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() | An alternative version of the Bloom squad with Anemo characters pullings cores. As supports, you can use Dendro shield warriors, who are also capable of inflicting status from off-field. |
![]() | ![]() ![]() | ![]() | ![]() ![]() ![]() | Burning team. Nahida or Traveler + Collei constantly refresh Dendro status on opponents to maintain Burning. Since this reaction, like Bloom, also deals damage to characters, it is important to get a shield fighter (Thoma), an additional healer (Bennett) or someone who can redirect damage (Dehya). |
Extra Stats For Leveling
The heroine's primary stat, which increases with her ascension, is critical damage. HP, attack power, and defense also increase with level. The exact values are presented in the table.

Basic (Active) Skills
Key techniques to be actively used during battle:
Hidden spear "Wangsheng"
- Source of damage: ATK.
Normal attack: Up to 6 quick hits on the enemy.
Charged attack: A lunge that deals damage to enemies in its path, costing a certain amount of stamina.
Plunging: Plunges downwards, spearhead extended. Upon landing, it deals area-of-effect damage.
Guide to the afterlife
- Duration of the stand: 9 seconds

Knocks back enemies and enters the state of Paramita Papilio:
- ATK increases based on maximum HP (up to 400% of the standard value).
- Grants Pyro's normal attacks an infusion. The effect cannot be canceled by other status effects.
- This state cannot be broken, and resistance to interruption of charged strikes is increased.
The Paramita Papilio state duration is determined by level, it also fades when leaving the battle or with the death of the hero.
While dancing, charged attacks allow you to mark enemies. Blood Blossom.
This effect deals Pyro damage every 4 seconds, the amount of which is determined by the elemental skill level. The effect is applied to the enemy once. Its duration can only be refreshed by the girl herself.
Rest of the Spirits
- Cooldown: 15 seconds
- Enegry consumption: 60
A wave of flaming spirit strikes targets within medium range. Upon hitting an enemy, it restores a percentage of the girl's health. This effect can be triggered up to 5 times, depending on the number of enemies hit. When her health drops below 50%, the ultimate's damage and regeneration amount are significantly increased.
Passive Skills
All the hostess's passive abilities are presented in the table:
| The More the Merrier | Craft the perfect dish for an 18% chance of getting a Weird copy of it. |
| Flutter By | After the Butterfly Dance state of the Afterlife Guide skill ends, the critical hit chance of all party members (except the heroine herself) increases by 12% for 8 seconds. |
| Sanguine Rouge | When below 50% health, her Pyro damage bonus is increased by 33%. |
Leveling Order
Normal Attacks ≥ Elemental Skill (E) > Elemental Burst (Q)
When upgrading your heroine's abilities, we recommend prioritizing them as follows:
- First of all, we level normal attacks и elemental skillAuto-attacks are necessary to hit harder with an elemental skill, as they affect the damage of the poke when using the skill.
- Then we upgrade the Elemental BurstThis determines area damage and the amount of health restored.
Constellations
| 1. Crimson Bouquet | When activating the Paramita Papilio state, charged attacks do not consume stamina. |
| 2. Ominous Rainfall | Blood Flower's damage increases by 10% of the HP level at the time the effect is applied. It also marks enemies hit by the elemental blast. |
| 3. Lingering Carmine | Guide to Afterlife Level +3 (Max Level 15) |
| 4. Garden of Eternal Rest | Defeating any enemy under the effect of Blood Flower will increase the critical strike chance of the rest of the squad by 12% for 15 seconds. |
| 5. Floral Incense | Spirit Soother level +3 (Max level - 15) |
| 5. Butterfly's Embrace | This effect is triggered when HP drops below 25%, when she receives a fatal blow, or when her health bar reaches 1. It prevents the character from dying, increasing physical and elemental resistances by 200%, critical strike chance by 100%, and interrupt resistance for 10 seconds. Cooldown: 60 seconds. |
Hu Tao's best constellations are C1, C4 and C6:
- Getting the first The constellation ability no longer consumes stamina. In other words, you can now dash continuously with Pyro Infusion, literally "rolling" across the battlefield. This is the most optimal constellation investment, which will not only make the game much more comfortable but also increase your character's effectiveness and damage.
- The fourth one It's not critical, but it's useful for sub-DDs with snapshot mechanics. It's not worth pursuing if your allies aren't dealing damage or if the team with the bureau owner is primarily used against bosses, as the requirement requires defeating the enemy.
- The sixth constellation It's great for speedrunning, as it provides 100% critical chance, allowing you to focus on critical damage, and provides protection from death. However, due to its long cooldown, this constellation isn't as useful in protracted battles.
How to play Hu Tao
The bureau owner's primary damage depends on how low her HP is. This makes shield-based tactics extremely important. The main task is to try not to die after entering the Paramita Papilio state and, upon its completion, end the rotation with elemental burst. If you have your own healing, you can abandon support characters who regenerate health for the sake of sub-dps.
When playing as a heroine, it is also important to maintain elemental statuses on the battlefield, so she can trigger reactions and deal even more damage. Of course, a spearwoman is also capable of playing solo DPS without elemental interactions, but if you want to maximize impact, you should.
Rotation
Maximum damage can be achieved by activating skills in a specific order. One of the most common rotations is:
Sub-DD and buffers > Switch to heroine > Pressing elemental skill > Charged or normal attacks > Elemental burst.
- Use the support abilities of other team members so that after entering the battle, the owner of the ritual forest will take advantage of buffs and elemental statuses to trigger reactions.
- Switch to the bureau owner and activate immediately elemental skillto get an infusion on basic attacks and increase their damage.
- Hit your opponents with normal и charged attacks. It is advisable to cancel the dash animation by using a jump if there is no C1. If you play with Yelan or Xingqiu, try to always use normal attacks before charged ones to inflict Hydro status.
- Once the skill ends, use the Elemental burstto restore health and deal massive Pyro damage in an area. If your ultimate hasn't charged yet, repeat the rotation from step 1.
Is The Character Worth Pulling?
Funeral Home Owner Wansheng is one of the strongest Pyro damage dealers in Genshin Impact, who, when used correctly, can show record damage figures. At the same time, one cannot deny the fact that this will require spending a lot of time to find the perfect artifacts, get the right weapons and set up a squad. In addition, the character is not as simple as it might seem at first glance.
In the case of a girl, the following become important: maintaining rotation, constantly balancing on the brink of "life and death," canceling charged attack animations for higher DPS (or unlocking the first constellation). Nevertheless, if you get the hang of it or invest enough in this hero, you can be sure that she will easily clear absolutely any content.
Which is better: Signature or C1?
To build the best possible girl, it's important to prioritize signature weapons or constellations, both of which are very good and contribute to damage.
- Take С1This not only improves gameplay comfort, especially when playing on a mobile device, but also allows for a few extra hits, which increases the overall damage output per rotation.
- After the first constellation, get he signature weaponBefore that, you can use an epic or legendary alternative.
Overall, after getting the signature and C1, the heroine doesn't require any investment. Only continue if you're a fan of her.
Biography
Hu Tao is a key figure in Li Yue's funeral business. At a very young age, she lost her grandfather, who owned the renowned funeral home "Wansheng." Immediately afterward, her responsibilities fell to her. Since then, she has strived to provide the best funerals for people, protecting the boundary between life and death. She also writes excellent poems, which subsequently spread through Li Yue by word of mouth.
From time to time, a ghostly friendappears next to her, and most of the locals have already heard of her uneasy relationship with the zombie girl Qiqi . For many, the poetess of night alleys remains a mystery “impossible to predict, impossible to underestimate.” At first glance, she seems roguish and eccentric, but is completely transformed when she walks at the head of the funeral procession. Since her arrival, things have gone up in the bureau, as she takes her responsibilities seriously.
The development of the heroine's story can be found in her Legends quest Papilio Charontis: Yet the Butterfly Flutters Away.

I play Hutao S1R1/Furina/Columbine/Ineff and easily delivers 180k damage in the DPS test, so if you assemble a decent squad and artifacts, then the old lady can deliver decent damage.
Because it's literally a stroller, any character with a truck, a Bina, and an Ineffa will do normal DPS.
(Listen to the verse and this is her absence)
Hu Tao Hu Tao she is no longer there, but her heart left somewhere and flew by unnoticed.
There's a typo in the article. The character was released in Phase 2 of 1.3, not in 1.4, during the Lantern Rite.
Hello! This was fixed in 1.3. Back then, the banners were shortened, which is why it was confusing. Thanks for the tip!
Old Lady Hutava is long outdated and can only be flexed in the open world.
I speak as the owner of a C1 R1 along with a perfectly assembled Blue C6, an E Lan C1 with Favonium, and a grandfather with the same Favonium.
It's not about the mechanics, it's about the usual fattening of enemies in endgame content, she even picks at the node of the Kray minibosses (not to be confused with legends, it's even worse there) like my crookedly assembled Eimiya on the main with Rusty without waking up in 2022, when I just started playing
It's possible that C6 Hutawa will still be blocking content, but let's be honest, it's not worth investing in right now.
My Tao easily closes the endgame with C1 and R5 Thunder. True, I gave her almost perfect artifacts, the best squad with C6 Blue and Ceremon, Lanyu with R2 Signal, and Sitlali with Signal. If I invest well in the rest of the squad, I think the Girl will close everything.
And such a pack: hu tao, layla, Xin qiu, Sucrose?
