In Genshin impact, Young ninja Sayu is an Anemo healer with a two-handed sword. She mainly heals passively with her ult, and enters the battlefield using a special movement mechanic with her E, which deals damage to enemies with an elemental status.
The girl prefers to play with Electro, Pyro, Cryo and Hydro allies, as she can perform in these squads not only the role of a healer, but also a debuffer due to artifacts. She has the best synergy with sub-DDs, who are able to hit from the pocket, causing many reactions that can be strengthened by Swirl.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Before you build Sayu, it is worth understanding her advantages and disadvantages.
|
Strengths |
Weaknesses |
| The little Shuumatsuban ninja is a handy hero who makes exploring the world easier with her elemental skill. She also has a two-handed sword that allows her to mine ore, and her passive talent means she doesn't scare away birds, butterflies, and other creatures. | Needs the first constellation to fully use the Muji-Muji Daruma skill. |
| She is a versatile hero who can heal allies, Swirl elements and deal damage at the same time. | She can only be a good support or sub-DD, there is no point in making her a damage dealer. |
| With C6 she becomes completely dependent on only one characteristic, which greatly simplifies the choice of artifacts. | Her ult is very expensive, which is why she requires gaining additional energy recharge or adding another Anemo hero into the pack. |
| Her Elemental skill absorbs elements, causing increased damage and helping with reactions. | Holding an elemental skill wastes a lot of time, which is inconvenient in combat where every second counts. |
The Best Saya Builds in Genshin Impact

The build for Sayu should take into account her role in the squad - support or sub-DD, whose main task is to Swirl elements to increase the DPS of allies, as well as heal the team. The heroine needs ATK, since all skills are scaled with it. However, you should not ignore mastery, which is important for Swirling elements. In addition, at C6 EM becomes the main stat.
She also has a very expensive ult, which means she needs to gain a lot of energy regeneration. If the little ninja is in the sub-DD position, then crit. damage and crit. chance will not be superfluous for her.
Recommended Stats
Let's consider what characteristics need to be looked for in artifacts for different builds.
Sub-DPS Build
It is not difficult to get additional damage from the small ninja. As a sub-dd character, in addition to healing, she should hit with her elemental skill and ult. To do this, you need to take an Anemo goblet, and look for crits in the circlet. Also, crit. damage and crit. chance should be in the sub-stats. You need to take EM or energy recovery clock. An option for attack power is also possible.
| Artifact | Main characteristic | Additional stats |
|---|---|---|
![]() | HP (fixed) | Energy Recharge % Elemental Mastery CRIT DMG CRIT Rate |
![]() | Attack Power (fixed) | Energy Recharge % Elemental Mastery CRIT DMG CRIT Rate |
![]() | Elemental Mastery / Attack Power % | Energy Recharge % Elemental Mastery CRIT DMG CRIT Rate |
![]() | Bonus Anemo Damage % | Energy Recharge % Elemental Mastery CRIT DMG CRIT Rate |
![]() | Crit. damage / Crit. chance | Energy Recharge % Elemental Mastery CRIT Rate / DMG ATK % |
Recommended values:
- ATK: about 1200-1500.
- Elemental Mastery: about 400-500. If you have C6, you need more EM.
- Energy recharge: 130% and more.
- CRIT Rate/DMG should be in a ratio of 1:2, e.g. 60 crit. rate for 120 crit. damage.
Healer Build
The heroine's healing depends on both ATK and EM. If she has the sixth constellation, the advantage should be given to EM. Choose clock for energy recovery or EM and goblet for EM. As for the circlet, it is also advisable to take EM or bonus healing.
| Artifact | Main characteristic | Additional stats |
|---|---|---|
![]() | HP (fixed) | Energy Recharge % Elemental Mastery ATK % |
![]() | Attack Power (fixed) | Energy Recharge % Elemental Mastery ATK % |
![]() | Elemental Mastery / Energy Recovery % | Energy Recovery % / Elemental Mastery ATK % |
![]() | Elemental Mastery | Energy recharge ATK % |
![]() | Elemental Mastery / Heal Bonus | Energy recharge ATK % |
Recommended values:
- Elemental Mastery: 700 and more.
- Energy recharge: about 180-200%.
Optimal weapons
The Ninja needs swords with energy recovery or EM in the main stat. Some two-handed swords with ATK will also do.
| Name | Description | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Base stat: 46-608 ATK: 10,8%-49,6% | Increases attack power by 20%-40%. When hitting a target with less than 30% HP, increases the attack power of all party members by 40%-80% for 12 sec. Can occur no more than once per 1 seconds. | The best weapon option. Gives a lot of attack power, and also buffs the attack of all allies. With this sword, you can focus on EM and restoring energy in artifacts. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Base stat: 48-674 Energy recharge: 8%-36,8% | Increases damage dealt by 8%-16%. After activating an elemental burst, hits with normal or charged attacks launch an intangible blade that deals 80%-160% damage to all enemies in its path. Lasts 20 seconds. or 8 intangible blades. | Excellent sword with energy recovery in the main stat. Also increases the overall damage of the character. Bonuses from the second half of the passive are not needed, but all other buffs are very useful. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Base stat: 44-565 Elemental Mastery: 24-110 | After hitting an enemy with an elemental skill or activating an elemental reaction, for 8 seconds. attack power is increased by 12%-24%, and the skill of the elements - on 48-96 . | One of the best 4⭐ swords. Gives a lot of EM, and also adds attack power. The passive is fully functional, as the girl triggers the Swirl reaction. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Base stat: 41-454 Energy recharge: 13,3%-61,3% | Critical attacks have a 60%-100% chance to create elemental particles that restore 6 Energy. Occurs once per 12-6 sec. | Another great sword that provides her and the party with a huge amount of energy, allowing her to use her ultimates often. Opens up the opportunity to focus on more important stats in artifacts. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Base stat: 44-565 Energy recharge: 6,7%-30,6% | When an elemental skill deals damage, there is a 40%-80% chance of resetting its cooldown. May occur once per 30-16 sec. | A good sword that gives energy recovery. In addition, it rolls back the elemental skill and allows you to use it twice, which restores the ult faster and show better results. Keep in mind that when using the sword with a long press of the skill, you need to use the final blow of the ability to activate the passive. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Base stat: 42-510 Elemental Mastery: 36-165 | Increases by 20%-36% damage against enemies affected by Hydro or Electro elements. | Not a bad option that adds a lot of EM. However, for the passive to work, you need to have a good Hydro or Electro applicator in your squad, otherwise there will be no buff. It is better not to take this sword in squads without characters of these elements. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Base stat: 42-510 Energy recharge: 10%-45,9% | Increases elemental skill damage by 6%-12%. When an elemental skill hits an enemy, the character loses 3 energy but restores 3-5 energy every 2 sec. for the next 6 sec. The effect can occur once every 10 sec. The effect can work even when the character is not on the field. | A good weapon for f2p players, as it can be created using crafting. Gives a lot of energy recovery, which allows you to focus on more important characteristics in artifacts. Also buffs the E, which the heroine often uses. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Base stat: 42-510 Elemental Mastery: 36-165 | Every 10 sec. the following effect is triggered: the attack power of the character equipped with this weapon is increased by 24%-48% of Elemental Mastery for 12 sec. Nearby party members gain 30% of this effect. If other party members also have this weapon, the effect stacks. This effect triggers even if the equipped character is not on the battlefield. | This weapon is ideal because it buffs not only the heroine herself, but the entire squad from EM. It is especially effective if she has the sixth constellation. |
![]() ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base stat: 42-510 ATK: 9%-41,4% | Attack power after being healed is increased by 24-48% for 8 sec. The effect works even when the character is not on the battlefield. | The best crafting option for the role of a healer. Her healing depends on the strength of the attack, and the sword buffs precisely this characteristic. |
Useful artifacts
Artifacts for Sayu must match her role in the squad. Let's take a look at the different builds.
Sub-DPS Build
If the ninja is supposed to deal damage, her artifacts should have a bonus to Anemo, ATK and EM. In addition, it is desirable to have one character with the Viridescent Venererin your team, which will cut off resistances when Swirled. The best option is to make the heroine herself wear this.
| Name | Description | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 Piece: Increases Anemo damage bonus by 15%. 4 Piece: Increases Swirl damage by 60%. When Swirl interacts with another element, also reduces the enemy's resistance to the corresponding element by 40% for 10 seconds. | The best set for a sub-DD build. The set not only increases personal DPS, but also reduces enemy resistances after element Swirling. Perfect for squads with elemental play. |
![]() ![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 Piece: Increases Anemo damage bonus by 15%. 2 Piece: Increases attack power by 18%. | A 2+2 set of Anemo and ATK boost sets. A great option for increasing your own DPS until you get a full Viridescent Venerer set. |
![]() ![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 Piece: Increases Anemo damage bonus by 15%. 2 Piece: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80. | Analogue of the previous two-piece set, but with a set for elemental mastery. Suitable for a heroine who has a sixth constellation, which gives bonuses from EM. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 parts: Increases elemental burst damage by 20%. 4 Piece: Activating an elemental burst increases the attack power of all party members by 20% for 12 seconds. The effect does not stack. | A standard set for most supports, which not only benefits the wearer, but also buffs the rest of the squad. Can be given to a girl if there is no other wearer of the set in the squad. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 Piece: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80. 4 Piece: For 8 sec. after triggering a reaction, a character equipped with these artifacts receives the following buffs depending on the elements of allies: attack power is increased by 14% for each character with the same element; Elemental Mastery is increased by 50. for each hero with a different element. Each of these buffs count up to 3 characters. The effect can occur once every 8 seconds. and works even if the character equipped with these artifacts is not on the battlefield. | Set for the game from the Swirl reaction and through EM. This set depends entirely on the members of the squad, so try to pick them depending on what you need - attack power or elemental mastery. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 Piece: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80. 4 Piece: Triggering an elemental reaction increases elemental mastery of all party members by 120 for 8 sec. | A great option for buffing the entire squad's MC. The set is suitable even for beginners. |
Healer Build
To enhance healing, you can give standard support sets, as well as combinations of artifacts for a healing bonus.
| This set will be the best if you are going to build a healer, the only difference is in the characteristics of the artifacts themselves. This set will also give a bonus to the damage inflicted and will reduce the resistances of opponents. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 Piece: Increases elemental burst damage by 20%. 4 Piece: Activating the Ultimate increases the attack power of all squad members by 20% for 12 sec. The effect does not stack. | A universal set for all supports. As with the previous set, the stats vary depending on the build. If the group already has one Noble, there is no point in using the second set. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 Piece: Increases healing bonus by 15%. 4 Piece: When the character equipping this artifact set heals a character in the party, a Sea-Dyed Foam will appear for 3 seconds, accumulating the amount of HP recovered from healing (including overflow healing). At the end of the duration, the Sea-Dyed Foam will explode, dealing DMG to nearby opponents based on 90% of the accumulated healing. (This DMG is calculated similarly to Reactions such as Electro-Charged, and Superconduct, but it is not affected by Elemental Mastery, Character Levels, or Reaction DMG Bonuses). Only one Sea-Dyed Foam can be produced every 3,5 seconds. Each Sea-Dyed Foam can accumulate up to 30 HP (including overflow healing). There can be no more than one Sea-Dyed Foam active at any given time. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field. | A great healing set with an additional damaging effect when healing is exceeded. A good option for squads where healing is more important than bonuses and buffs. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 Piece: Increases healing bonus by 15%. 2 Piece: Increases healing bonus by 15%. | 2 + 2 mix of two sets of artifacts for healing. You can use it if there are no full sets you need. |
Teams
Sayu's teams are quite versatile, as she can fit into any squad that needs a healer. However, she can absorb and Swirl elements, so she is best placed in elemental squads to be useful.
Characters with good synergy
Let's take a closer look at all the heroes who perform well with the Anemo Ninja.
Damage dealers
Heroes that deal most of the damage in a group, both on the field and from the pocket:
| Character | Element | Weapon | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|---|
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Hits hard with his Hydro basic attacks and ult, so he can provide the heroine with elements for Swirling. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Ayaka plays from her element, so she will benefit from the additional Cryo boost, which will increase DPS and help in causing reactions. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | An Electro damage dealer who plays off of infusion and reactions, so she will pair well with the Shuumatsuban Ninja, who will buff her. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | The heroine is able to give the Anemo Wanderer resonance, which gives important attack speed. In addition, she will provide him with a heal and a small energy boost. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | A Cryo Archer who spends most of her time charging her attacks, which is why she loses mobility and needs additional healing. In addition, her DPS will increase if Cryo is Swirled. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | A versatile Electro character who can take the place of both the main damage dealer and the sub-DD. Deals elemental damage with damage, hits in parallel with the attacks of the active character, and also restores energy to squad members. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Hydro damage dealer who attacks with normal attacks after activating an elemental skill. Plays mostly through reactions, so an Anemo character in the party is useful for Ayato. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Pyro DD, attacks with charged attacks and ult. Can play in various squads, but needs an Anemo character to Swirl Pyro. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Is a catalyst that attacks Pyro with bombs. Provides a lot of elemental status for the Swirl reaction. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Like Raiden, she can act as both a main-dd and a pocket damage dealer. |

Skills

Sayu wields a two-handed sword, which she uses to strike at a fairly slow pace. Her elemental skill , when pressed quickly, allows you to instantly strike with Anemo. With holding the ability, the heroine turns into a wheel and moves quickly, hitting every enemy in her path and absorbing one element. Sayu's Elemental burst summons a special creature that deals damage to enemies or heals allies depending on their health.
Basic (Active) Skills
Next, we will explore in more detail all the hero's abilities, and also tell you in what order they need to be upgraded.
Inflicts up to four sword slashes with a normal attack.
While holding the basic attack, spins around her axis and attacks nearby enemies, spending stamina. After spinning, performs a powerful sword strike.
AWith a plunging attack, drops to the ground, hitting all enemies in her path, and dealing an area slam upon landing.
Max. hold duration: 10 sec.
Cooldown time: 6-11 sec.
Coils into a Fuufuu Windwheel and slams into enemies, attacking them with Anemo. After the skill ends, performs a Fuufuu Whirlwind Kick, dealing Anemo AoE damage.
Tap: turns into a Fuufuu Windwheel, rolls slightly forward, and performs a Fuufuu Whirlwind Kick.
Hold: Curls into a Fuufuu Windwheel and rolls forward for a long time. In this state, her interrupt resistance increases. When holding, the direction of movement can be selected, and the skill can also be reused to prematurely exit the state and perform Fuufuu Whirlwind Kick. The longer the ninja uses the skill, the longer the cooldown.
Elemental Absorption: While in the Windwheel state, she can come into contact with the elements of Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, Electro, and then additionally hit with that element. Only one element can be absorbed per use of the skill.
Duration: 12 sec.
Cooldown: 20 sec.
Energy consumption: 80.
Attacks enemies around her with Anemo and heals allies based on her own ATK. The ninja then summons Muji-Muji Daruma.
Muji-Muji Daruma:
- If nearby party members' HP is above 70%, it will attack the nearest enemy with Anemo element.
- If nearby allies' HP is equal to or below 70%, it heals the ally with the lowest HP.
- If there are no enemies nearby and the HP of allied heroes is above 70%, it heals all squad members.
Passive Skills
The heroine has a number of special skills that are automatically unlocked with ascension.
When the character is active, triggering Swirl restores 300 HP to all party members (nearby allies), and also regenerates 1,2 HP for each point of the ninja's EM. The effect occurs once every 2 seconds.
If the heroine is in the party, characters no longer scare away crystal butterflies and other animals listed in the "Other" sub-category of the "Living Beings / Wildlife" section in the Archive.
The summoned Muji-Muji Daruma additionally gains the following effects:
- When healing a character, restores an additional 20% of the health points received by the subject to the nearest hero.
- Increased attack range.
Leveling Order
The order of leveling is always the same, regardless of the role of the heroine in the team. Her most useful skill is the ultimate, which must be leveled first. Then you need to pay attention to the elemental skill. Normal attacks do not need to be leveled.
Thus, the order of skill leveling looks like this: Elemental Burst > Elemental Skill > Normal Attacks (if desired).
Constellations
| number | Name | Effects |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Multi-Task no Jutsu | Daruma, summoned by the Ultimate, ignores HP restrictions, simultaneously attacking nearby enemies and healing party members. |
| 2 | Egress Prep | The elemental skill gains the following effects:
|
| 3 | Eh, the Bunshin Can Handle It | Lv. Yoohoo Art: Mujina Flurry +3 (Max 15) |
| 4 | Skiving: New and Improved | Each Swirl reaction triggered by the active heroine restores 1,2 energy to her. The effect can occur once every 2 seconds. |
| 5 | Speed Comes First | Lv. Yoohoo Art: Fuuin Dash +3 (Max 15) |
| 6 | Sleep O'Clock | Daruma will be enhanced with the character's Elemental Mastery value. For each point of this stat:
|
Sayu's best constellations are С1 and С6.
- The first constellation Removes HP restrictions from the Muji-Muji Daruma summoned by the ult, allowing it to attack and heal allies at the same time.
- The sixth constellation makes elemental mastery a primary stat, allowing you to forgo the complex balance of ATK and EM for simultaneous elemental Swirl and healing. With this constellation, you can use a full set of Viridescent Venerer with EM in the main stats and not lose the healing power.
How to play Sayu

Sayu's abilities allow her to enter the battlefield only to activate her skills and retreat back into the pocket. Be careful when using the hold version of the skill, as it takes quite a long time. In addition, her E causes the absorption of elements, which can ruin or, on the contrary, enhance reactions. Keep an eye on the situation in the battle to use the skill to greater advantage.
The ultimate directly depends on the amount of HP of nearby squad members:
- above 70% – deals damage;
- below 70% - heals the ally with the lowest health level;
- above 70%, and there are no enemies around - heals all allies.
Carefully control the HP level of your squad members to use the ult as needed in a specific combat situation. This limitation is removed upon receiving the 1st constellation.
Rotation
Both builds use the same order of actions:
- Activate the abilities of supports and sub-dps to activate buffs and impose the desired element on opponents.
- Switch back to Sayu and activate her elemental skill to Swirl the elements.
- Switch to your main damage dealer and hit the enemy.
- Use the ult when you need to heal your allies.
- Repeat from the first step as the abilities cool down.
Character Summary

Sayu is an excellent character who can easily fit into various squads in Genshin Impact, fulfilling the role required by a specific team. She can act as a sub-damage dealer, providing additional numbers and boosting elements for subsequent buffs, or as a healer, keeping her allies' health high. Furthermore, the little ninja can move quickly with her elemental skill, making exploration of Teyvat easier.

Is it worth leveling up Saya C1, putting her with Mizuki C0? For healing, if the sub is Furina and someone else, Xiangling for now, but she's usually busy in a mono-pyro pack... Barbara is the one for now... or is it easier to leave everything as is for now, if Barb has Hydro Resonance 🤔 Of those who can still heal, the only one is Yao Yao, I also don't know whether to level it now or not.
Hello, how would the Al-Haytham squad look like with Nahida Ororon (Fischl) and Saya (with the new event sword)? And who is better, Ororon or Fischl?
Hello! Sayu isn't useful in this team, as it's impossible to reduce Dendro's resistance with Anemo Inflation. It's better to choose a healer or a shielder with Hydro or Electro elements. 🙂 Between Fischl and Ororon, Fischl is the best choice in this team, as she provides more status and is better at triggering Vegetation.
Thank you, I only take Sayu as a healer and I just like the character.
I never thought I'd ever close the abyss with Sayu as my anemo driver. Seriously, why even need Mizuki if I have her? 🤔🤔
Sayu is in the banner with Mizuki...
Would the following squad be suitable: Sayu, Fischl, Xiangling and Furina?
