Sayu in Genshin Impact: Guide to the best artifacts, weapons and teams

Mini Mujina Guide: How to Play the Mini Ninja, Pick Her Weapons and Teams.

Sayu in Genshin Impact

In Genshin impact, Young ninja Sayu is an Anemo healer with a two-handed sword. She mainly heals passively with her ult, and enters the battlefield using a special movement mechanic with her E, which deals damage to enemies with an elemental status.

Content

The girl prefers to play with Electro, Pyro, Cryo and Hydro allies, as she can perform in these squads not only the role of a healer, but also a debuffer due to artifacts. She has the best synergy with sub-DDs, who are able to hit from the pocket, causing many reactions that can be strengthened by Swirl.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Sayu eats onigiri

Before you build Sayu, it is worth understanding her advantages and disadvantages.

Strengths

Weaknesses

The little Shuumatsuban ninja is a handy hero who makes exploring the world easier with her elemental skill. She also has a two-handed sword that allows her to mine ore, and her passive talent means she doesn't scare away birds, butterflies, and other creatures. Needs the first constellation to fully use the Muji-Muji Daruma skill.
She is a versatile hero who can heal allies, Swirl elements and deal damage at the same time. She can only be a good support or sub-DD, there is no point in making her a damage dealer.
With C6 she becomes completely dependent on only one characteristic, which greatly simplifies the choice of artifacts. Her ult is very expensive, which is why she requires gaining additional energy recharge or adding another Anemo hero into the pack.
Her Elemental skill absorbs elements, causing increased damage and helping with reactions. Holding an elemental skill wastes a lot of time, which is inconvenient in combat where every second counts.

The Best Saya Builds in Genshin Impact

Sayu and Muji-Muji-Daruma

The build for Sayu should take into account her role in the squad - support or sub-DD, whose main task is to Swirl elements to increase the DPS of allies, as well as heal the team. The heroine needs ATK, since all skills are scaled with it. However, you should not ignore mastery, which is important for Swirling elements. In addition, at C6 EM becomes the main stat.

She also has a very expensive ult, which means she needs to gain a lot of energy regeneration. If the little ninja is in the sub-DD position, then crit. damage and crit. chance will not be superfluous for her.

Recommended Stats

Let's consider what characteristics need to be looked for in artifacts for different builds.

Sub-DPS Build

It is not difficult to get additional damage from the small ninja. As a sub-dd character, in addition to healing, she should hit with her elemental skill and ult. To do this, you need to take an Anemo goblet, and look for crits in the circlet. Also, crit. damage and crit. chance should be in the sub-stats. You need to take EM or energy recovery clock. An option for attack power is also possible.

Healer Build

The heroine's healing depends on both ATK and EM. If she has the sixth constellation, the advantage should be given to EM. Choose clock for energy recovery or EM and goblet for EM. As for the circlet, it is also advisable to take EM or bonus healing.

Useful artifacts

Artifacts for Sayu must match her role in the squad. Let's take a look at the different builds.

Sub-DPS Build

If the ninja is supposed to deal damage, her artifacts should have a bonus to Anemo, ATK and EM. In addition, it is desirable to have one character with the Viridescent Venererin your team, which will cut off resistances when Swirled. The best option is to make the heroine herself wear this.

NameDescriptionRecommendation
Viridescent Venerer

2 Piece:
Increases Anemo damage bonus by 15%.
4 Piece:
Increases Swirl damage by 60%. When Swirl interacts with another element, also reduces the enemy's resistance to the corresponding element by 40% for 10 seconds.
The best set for a sub-DD build. The set not only increases personal DPS, but also reduces enemy resistances after element Swirling. Perfect for squads with elemental play.

NameDescriptionRecommendation
Viridescent Venerer

4 Piece:
Increases Swirl damage by 60%. When Swirl interacts with another element, also reduces the enemy's resistance to the corresponding element by 40% for 10 seconds.

Noblesse Oblige

2 Piece:
Increases elemental burst damage by 20%.
4 Piece:
Activating the Ultimate increases the attack power of all squad members by 20% for 12 sec. The effect does not stack.

Ocean-Hued Clam

2 Piece:
Increases healing bonus by 15%.
4 Piece:
When the character equipping this artifact set heals a character in the party, a Sea-Dyed Foam will appear for 3 seconds, accumulating the amount of HP recovered from healing (including overflow healing). At the end of the duration, the Sea-Dyed Foam will explode, dealing DMG to nearby opponents based on 90% of the accumulated healing. (This DMG is calculated similarly to Reactions such as Electro-Charged, and Superconduct, but it is not affected by Elemental Mastery, Character Levels, or Reaction DMG Bonuses). Only one Sea-Dyed Foam can be produced every 3,5 seconds. Each Sea-Dyed Foam can accumulate up to 30 HP (including overflow healing). There can be no more than one Sea-Dyed Foam active at any given time. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field.
A great healing set with an additional damaging effect when healing is exceeded. A good option for squads where healing is more important than bonuses and buffs.

2 + 2 mix of two sets of artifacts for healing. You can use it if there are no full sets you need.

Teams

Sayu's teams are quite versatile, as she can fit into any squad that needs a healer. However, she can absorb and Swirl elements, so she is best placed in elemental squads to be useful.

Characters with good synergy

Let's take a closer look at all the heroes who perform well with the Anemo Ninja.

Damage dealers

Heroes that deal most of the damage in a group, both on the field and from the pocket:

CharacterElementWeaponRecommendation
Tartaglia
Hydro
Bow
Hits hard with his Hydro basic attacks and ult, so he can provide the heroine with elements for Swirling.

One-handed sword
Ayaka plays from her element, so she will benefit from the additional Cryo boost, which will increase DPS and help in causing reactions.

An Electro damage dealer who plays off of infusion and reactions, so she will pair well with the Shuumatsuban Ninja, who will buff her.

  • Gilded Scale - Weekly Boss Drop Material Azhdaha.
  • Crown of Insight - a rare resource for upgrading talents to level 10.
  • 1 654 000 Mora.

Skills

Sleepy Sayu

Sayu wields a two-handed sword, which she uses to strike at a fairly slow pace. Her elemental skill , when pressed quickly, allows you to instantly strike with Anemo. With holding the ability, the heroine turns into a wheel and moves quickly, hitting every enemy in her path and absorbing one element. Sayu's Elemental burst summons a special creature that deals damage to enemies or heals allies depending on their health.

Basic (Active) Skills

Next, we will explore in more detail all the hero's abilities, and also tell you in what order they need to be upgraded.

Inflicts up to four sword slashes with a normal attack.

While holding the basic attack, spins around her axis and attacks nearby enemies, spending stamina. After spinning, performs a powerful sword strike.

AWith a plunging attack, drops to the ground, hitting all enemies in her path, and dealing an area slam upon landing.

Max. hold duration: 10 sec.

Cooldown time: 6-11 sec.

Coils into a Fuufuu Windwheel and slams into enemies, attacking them with Anemo. After the skill ends, performs a Fuufuu Whirlwind Kick, dealing Anemo AoE damage.

Tap: turns into a Fuufuu Windwheel, rolls slightly forward, and performs a Fuufuu Whirlwind Kick.

Hold: Curls into a Fuufuu Windwheel and rolls forward for a long time. In this state, her interrupt resistance increases. When holding, the direction of movement can be selected, and the skill can also be reused to prematurely exit the state and perform Fuufuu Whirlwind Kick. The longer the ninja uses the skill, the longer the cooldown.

Elemental Absorption: While in the Windwheel state, she can come into contact with the elements of Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, Electro, and then additionally hit with that element. Only one element can be absorbed per use of the skill.

Duration: 12 sec.

Cooldown: 20 sec.

Energy consumption: 80.

Attacks enemies around her with Anemo and heals allies based on her own ATK. The ninja then summons Muji-Muji Daruma.

Muji-Muji Daruma:

  • If nearby party members' HP is above 70%, it will attack the nearest enemy with Anemo element.
  • If nearby allies' HP is equal to or below 70%, it heals the ally with the lowest HP.
  • If there are no enemies nearby and the HP of allied heroes is above 70%, it heals all squad members.

Passive Skills

The heroine has a number of special skills that are automatically unlocked with ascension.

When the character is active, triggering Swirl restores 300 HP to all party members (nearby allies), and also regenerates 1,2 HP for each point of the ninja's EM. The effect occurs once every 2 seconds.

If the heroine is in the party, characters no longer scare away crystal butterflies and other animals listed in the "Other" sub-category of the "Living Beings / Wildlife" section in the Archive.

The summoned Muji-Muji Daruma additionally gains the following effects:

  • When healing a character, restores an additional 20% of the health points received by the subject to the nearest hero.
  • Increased attack range.

Leveling Order

The order of leveling is always the same, regardless of the role of the heroine in the team. Her most useful skill is the ultimate, which must be leveled first. Then you need to pay attention to the elemental skill. Normal attacks do not need to be leveled.

Thus, the order of skill leveling looks like this: Elemental Burst > Elemental Skill > Normal Attacks (if desired).

Constellations

numberNameEffects
1Multi-Task no JutsuDaruma, summoned by the Ultimate, ignores HP restrictions, simultaneously attacking nearby enemies and healing party members.
2Egress PrepThe elemental skill gains the following effects:
  • Damage of Fuufuu Whirlwind Kick when tapped is 3,3% higher.
  • Every 0,5 seconds while in the Windwheel State, increase the damage of Fuufuu Whirlwind Kick by 3,3% (up to 66% in total).
3Eh, the Bunshin Can Handle ItLv. Yoohoo Art: Mujina Flurry +3 (Max 15)
4Skiving: New and ImprovedEach Swirl reaction triggered by the active heroine restores 1,2 energy to her. The effect can occur once every 2 seconds.
5Speed Comes FirstLv. Yoohoo Art: Fuuin Dash +3 (Max 15)
6Sleep O'ClockDaruma will be enhanced with the character's Elemental Mastery value. For each point of this stat:
  • Daruma's attack damage is increased by 0,2% per point of EM (up to 400%).
  • The HP restored by Daruma is increased by 3 for every EM point (up to 6000 HP).

Sayu's best constellations are С1 and С6.

  • The first constellation Removes HP restrictions from the Muji-Muji Daruma summoned by the ult, allowing it to attack and heal allies at the same time.
  • The sixth constellation makes elemental mastery a primary stat, allowing you to forgo the complex balance of ATK and EM for simultaneous elemental Swirl and healing. With this constellation, you can use a full set of Viridescent Venerer with EM in the main stats and not lose the healing power.

How to play Sayu

Sayu with Eimiya on the bench

Sayu's abilities allow her to enter the battlefield only to activate her skills and retreat back into the pocket. Be careful when using the hold version of the skill, as it takes quite a long time. In addition, her E causes the absorption of elements, which can ruin or, on the contrary, enhance reactions. Keep an eye on the situation in the battle to use the skill to greater advantage.

The ultimate directly depends on the amount of HP of nearby squad members:

  • above 70% – deals damage;
  • below 70% - heals the ally with the lowest health level;
  • above 70%, and there are no enemies around - heals all allies.

Carefully control the HP level of your squad members to use the ult as needed in a specific combat situation. This limitation is removed upon receiving the 1st constellation.

Rotation

Both builds use the same order of actions:

  1. Activate the abilities of supports and sub-dps to activate buffs and impose the desired element on opponents.
  2. Switch back to Sayu and activate her elemental skill to Swirl the elements.
  3. Switch to your main damage dealer and hit the enemy.
  4. Use the ult when you need to heal your allies.
  5. Repeat from the first step as the abilities cool down.

Character Summary

Sayu carries Daruma

Sayu is an excellent character who can easily fit into various squads in Genshin Impact, fulfilling the role required by a specific team. She can act as a sub-damage dealer, providing additional numbers and boosting elements for subsequent buffs, or as a healer, keeping her allies' health high. Furthermore, the little ninja can move quickly with her elemental skill, making exploration of Teyvat easier.

Is it worth leveling up Saya C1, putting her with Mizuki C0? For healing, if the sub is Furina and someone else, Xiangling for now, but she's usually busy in a mono-pyro pack... Barbara is the one for now... or is it easier to leave everything as is for now, if Barb has Hydro Resonance 🤔 Of those who can still heal, the only one is Yao Yao, I also don't know whether to level it now or not.

Hello, how would the Al-Haytham squad look like with Nahida Ororon (Fischl) and Saya (with the new event sword)? And who is better, Ororon or Fischl?

Answer  Akemi

Hello! Sayu isn't useful in this team, as it's impossible to reduce Dendro's resistance with Anemo Inflation. It's better to choose a healer or a shielder with Hydro or Electro elements. 🙂 Between Fischl and Ororon, Fischl is the best choice in this team, as she provides more status and is better at triggering Vegetation.
