Luka in Honkai Star Rail: Detailed Guide and Best Build

Unleash the full potential of your Underworld Champion by choosing the best Cones, Relics, and optimal teams for him.

Luka in Honkai: Star Rail
Content

Luka in HSR is the Champion of Belobog Underworld's Fighting Club, a cheerful and freedom-loving fighter with a mechanical arm. He is an epic damage dealer/debuffer, who owns the physical element type and follows the Path of Nihility. The character's gameplay is entirely tied to the periodic status of Bleed, which allows him to effectively interact with heroes with similar mechanics, for example, Lightning Kafka.

Mainly fights against large targets (elite monsters and bosses), since the abilities are aimed at the selected enemy and do not spread over the area. For this reason, the unit is usually used only in content where it is necessary to defeat one powerful opponent. The fighter is quite comfortable and simple in the role of the main or secondary damage dealer, which makes him a relevant addition to any DoT team.

Hero's story

Luke in fight club

Luka is a multiple champion of Belobog Underworld's Fighting Club. He spent his entire childhood with his father in the gun shop, often immersed in fantasies about the future. This continued until one of the regular customers, the head of the Wild Fire, came to recruit the boy into the faction. On the front, he had to face inhumanity more than once, which made him colder and more ruthless.

Everything changed when the young man saved a helpless child cornered by a monster. Although he lost his right arm in the battle, he felt his heart fill with warmth again. The young man had seen the injustice and cruelty of the Underworld many times, so he vowed to become a champion to set a good example for children. When the trainer asked if he would continue training if order was restored, he replied, "As long as there are villains on the earth and people who need defense from them, I will fight!"

The development of the hero's storyline can be found in his companion mission "Mo Cuishle".

How Luka's skills work

The unit's abilities are aimed at inflicting physical damage to one target and applying Bleed, which causes the enemy to receive periodic damage over several turns. The character's special feature is a set of levels of the Fighting Will status, which enhances basic attack and allows for additional DPS.

Active skills

The technique

Technique "Anticipator» | Single Strike

Immediately attacks the enemy and after the start of the battle, deals physical damage to a random target equal to 50% of attack power. At the same time, with a base chance of 100%, imposes a Bleed status similar to the skill and additionally gains 1 lvl of the Fighting Will status.

Basic attack

Basic AttackDirect Punch" and "Sky-Shatter Fist» | Single Strike

Normal attackDirect Punch»

Deals physical damage to the selected enemy equal to 50-130% of attack power.

Enhanced attackSky-Shatter Fist»

Consumes 2 levels of Fighting Will and performs 3 Direct Punches, each dealing physical damage equal to 10-26% of attack power. Then performs 1 "Sky-Shatter Fist" strike, dealing physical damage equal to 40-104% of attack power to the enemy.

Skill

Skill "Lacerating Fist» | Single Strike

Deals physical damage equal to 60-150% of attack power to the target and has a base 100% chance to inflict the Bleed status for 3 turns. While under this status, the enemy receives periodic physical damage equal to 24% of their Max HP at the start of each turn. This damage cannot exceed 130-422,5% of attack power.

Ultimate

Superpower"Coup de Grâce» | Single Strike

Gain lvl 2 of Fighting Will and a base 100% chance to increase the target enemy's damage taken by 12-24% for 3 turns. Then deals physical damage equal to 198-396% of attack power to that enemy.

Passive Skills

Talent

Talent "Flying Sparks" | Enhance

Using the Direct Punch basic attack or the Lacerating Fist Skill, gains 1 level of Fighting Will status up to a max of 4 levels. When gaining 2 or more levels, Direct Punch is upgraded to Sky-Shatter Fist.

When Sky-Shatter Fist hits a target with the Bleed status, it causes the status to immediately deal damage equal to 68-93,5% of the original damage 1 additional time. At the start of the battle, Luka gains 1 lvl of Fighting Will.

Leveling Order

Skill > Superpower = Talent > Basic Attack

  • Skill is the main source of damage, and also affects the damage of Bleed. Upgraded first to comprehensively boost Luka.
  • Ultimate is necessary to increase the damage received by the enemy, debuffing ability. Talent increases instant portion of damage when using a strengthened attack. Since the utility of the abilities is on the same level, they are upgraded side-by-side.
  • Basic attack шncreases the damage of Sky-Shatter Fist's normal and explosive strikes. Upgrade it last.

Traces

General increase in characteristics:

Attack Power (ATK) 28%.
Effect Hit Rate (EHR) 18%.
DEF 12,5%.

Kinetic Overload: The skill removes 1 buff from the enemy. EHR +4% (A2) ATK +4% (A3) Defense +5% (A3)
Cycle Braking: gaining 1 level of Fighting Will restores 3 energy. ATK +6% (A4) EHR +6% (A5) ATK +6% (A5)

ATK +8% (lvl.80)

Eidolons

All consts of the representative of Nihility
number Name Effects
1 Fighting Endlessly If the target enemy is under Bleed while Luka is active, damage dealt to them is increased by 15% for 2 turns.
2 The Enemy is Weak, I am Strong If the target hit by the skill has a physical vulnerability type, Luka gains lvl 1. of the Fighting Will status.
3 Born for the Ring Skill level +2. Talent level +2. The maximum level is 15.
4 Never Turning Back Each level of Fighting Will increases attack power by 5%. The boost can stack up to 4 times.
5 The Spirit of Wildfire Superpower level +2. The maximum level is 15. The level of basic attack +1. The maximum level is 10.
6 A Champion's Applause When the empowered Sky-Shatter Fist hits a target with Bleed, it causes that status to immediately deal damage equal to 8% of the original damage 1 additional time for each previous use of Direct Punch.

Luka's Best eidolons are E2, E4 and E6.

  • Second eidolon Simplifies the rotation by the fact that the skill now gives 2 levels of Fighting Will at once (taking into account another 1 level from the talent). This means that the character will be able to combine the skill and an enhanced basic attack. The only condition is that there are enemies with physical weakness.
  • Fourth Eidolon Increases the character's attack power depending on the accumulated levels of Fighting Will, which will allow you to deal even more damage with any skills.
  • Sixth Eidolon works the same as the talent, giving the ability to instantly activate the imposed DoT (outside the target's turn) when using the enhanced strike. The const effect is triggered additionally for each basic attack dealt, so the skill and the basic strike should be alternated.

How to Play Luka in HSR

Bow in battle

The Underworld Champion's specialty is dealing physical damage and applying Bleed, while the young man has a mechanic of gaining levels of the Fighting Will status, which upgrades basic attack to "Sky-Shatter Fist". This type of attack is a combo followed by instant damage from the applied Bleed.

Fighting Will is displayed under the character icon in the form of diamonds and is gained in the following ways (maximum - 4 levels):

  • At the beginning of the battle - 1 level.
  • Technique - 1 level.
  • Basic attack - 1 level.
  • Skill - 1 level.
  • Superpower - 2 levels.

Luka's rotation is based on the following principle:

  1. Use the techniqueAnticipatorbefore the fight. Thanks to this, the character will have a 100% base chance to apply DoT to one enemy and gain 1 level of Fighting Will.
  2. Since there is an extra level at the start of the battle, use empowered strike on the Bleed target on your first turn. This will give Luka 1 consecutive attacks and an uppercut with increased damage, and also apply DoT damage immediately.
  3. In the next turn, use the skill "Lacerating Fist" to deal physical damage, reapply Bleed and gain 1 level.
  4. If there is no E2 or the enemy has no Physical Weakness, perform a normal attack to get an extra stack. Then use Sky-Shatter Fist again.
  5. When filling the energy scale and provided that there are no more than 3 levels, use the ultimate "Coup de Grâce" to increase the damage taken by the enemy, attack him and gain 2 stacks.
  6. Combine skill, basic attack, and super ability to accumulate 2 or more levels to use "Sky-Shatter Fist" later.

Always aim to use the empowered basic hit on an enemy target with Bleed so that the additional bonus from the talent triggers, instantly "exploding" this DoT status.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Luka in Honkai Star Rail: Detailed Guide and Best Build

Let's analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the character, which affect his implementation in battle.

Strengths Weaknesses
Does not depend on cyclesDuring combat, the unit instantly activates the Bleed spell cast on the enemy without waiting for their turn. Does not have "mass" skills. For this reason, in some situations he needs an additional source of AoE, especially if he takes the main DD position.
Effective against bosses and elite monsters due to his focus on destroying single targets. Luka's Bleed damage depends on the monster's maximum HP, so the character is especially good against larger targets. The Ult costs 130 energy, which is quite a lot. This is partially solved by opening the Cycle Braking trace, but an energy recovery link rope may be required.
Easy to build. It is enough to gain attack power and speed to deal a lot of damage, since Bleed is not capable of critical hits. Low base ATK, on which all abilities depend, which will require additional investments in stats or bonuses from supports.
Removes buffs. Following this, Kinetic Overload can cancel 1 positive bonus of the enemy, which is useful during difficult content. Removing enemy buff with the trace may not work, since it is initially impossible to dispel buffs from some enemies.
Does not depend on eidolons or legendary weapons. Luka is great at E0 with an epic light cone.
Flexible gameplay. Although he belongs to the defuffing Path of Nihility, he is capable of performing the role of a secondary or primary damage dealer, as he has high multipliers on skills.
Increases team DPS. Uses abilities to impose debuffs on enemies, which increases the damage dealt by team members.

Best Luka Builds in Honkai: Star Rail

Luka in Honkai Star Rail: Detailed Guide and Best Build

The Champion of the Underworld is a Path of Nihility character that relies on applying Bleed and dealing damage over time. As such, the key stats for a Luka build in HSR are:

  • ATK (ATK) - important for increasing overall damage from abilities.
  • Speed - is necessary for more frequent turns in order to maintain the debuff, as well as to increase the amount of damage per battle cycle.
  • Break effect - Allows you to inflict more damage when destroying the enemy's physical armor.
  • Effect Hit Rate - Increases the chance to apply Bleed and Super Ability Weakness.

Since the character specializes in DoT, critical stats are not necessary for him. This is due to the fact that periodic damage is not capable to crit.

Light Cone Rating

Weapons for Luka should belong to the Path of Nihility. , the character will only be able to use the basic characteristics, since the passive bonus will not be available.

The table shows the most suitable light cones:

NameDescriptionRecommendation
Patience Is All You Need
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
HP 48-1058
ATK 26-582
DEF 21-463
Damage dealt is increased by 24-40%Each hit increases the speed by 4,8-8%. The effect can be stacked up to 3 times. When the owner hits an enemy without Erode, has a base 100% chance to inflict this status on the target. The enemy with Erode is also considered to have the Shock status. The enemy with Web receives periodic Lightning damage equal to 60-100% of ATK of the owner, at the beginning of each turn for 1 turn.Light Cone is aimed at increasing overall DPS and speed, which will have a positive effect on the character's rotation, as he will be able to make moves much more often, especially with the presence of legs for speed. In addition, with a base 100%, it applies the Shock status to the enemy, which will allow you to inflict additional periodic damage.
Good Night and Sleep Well
⭐⭐⭐⭐
HP 43-952
ATK 21-476
DEF 15-330
Damage dealt is increased by 12-24% for each existing debuff on the target enemy. The bonus stacks up to 3 times and applies to periodic damage. The weapon increases all damage dealt (including periodic) when the enemy is weakened and stacks up to 3 times, buffing damage to 36-72% in total. Works well in combination with other representatives of the Path of Nihility, although the fighter himself can also inflict the negative status Bleed.
Eyes of the Prey

⭐⭐⭐⭐
HP 43-952
ATK 21-476
DEF 15-330
Increases EHR by 20-40% and periodic damage to 24-48%.An excellent light cone with balanced characteristics. Provides a good bonus to EHR and increases the damage dealt over time without any conditions. In other words, all the buffs will work on a permanent basis throughout the battle. It is especially well revealed at S5, becoming higher in the rating.
Solitary Healing
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
HP 48-1058
ATK 24-529
DEF 18-396
Break effect is increased by 20-40%. Using an ultimate ability increases the damage over time dealt by 24-48% for 2 moves. Defeating an opponent with the wearer's Damage Over Time effect restores 4-8of their energy.Cone from the Herta's shop. Increases break effect, which will be useful against mobs with physical vulnerability, and after using the ult, it boosts the inflicted DoT. Another nice addition is the bonus to energy recovery. However, to do this, you need to kill the enemy receiving periodic damage.
In the Name of the World

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
HP 48-1058
ATK 26-582
DEF 21-463
Increases damage dealt to enemies with debuffs by 24-40%. When the wielder uses a skill, the chance to hit the effects of that attack is increased by 18-30%, and the attack power is 24-40%.Considering that the Bleed status is considered a debuff, the hero will be able to easily activate a passive effect that increases the damage taken by the enemy. Among the equally important buffs is an increase in ATK, as well as an increase in the chance of hitting skill effects.
Fermata (F2P)
⭐⭐⭐⭐
HP 43-952
ATK 21-476
DEF 15-330
The wearer's break effect is increased by 16-32%. The wearer's damage dealt to Shock and Weathered enemies is increased by 16-32%. This effect also applies to damage over time.Provides a boost to break effect and DPS. A strong but situational cone, as it only increases damage if the enemy has the Shock and Wind Shear statuses. However, it can be used effectively if the team has Kafka, Serval or Sampo.
Those Many Springs

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
HP 43-953
ATK 26-582
DEF 24-529
The owner has an increased EHR + 60-100%. If he uses a basic attack, skill, or ultimate to hit an enemy, that enemy has a base 60% chance of being inflicted with the Unarmored status. An enemy with the Unarmored status receives 10-18% more damage for 2 turns.

If the owner has applied a periodic effect to an enemy target, then with a base chance of 60%, the Unarmored status is enhanced to the Cornered status, with which the damage taken by the enemy increases by another
14-22% also for 2 turns.

Under the conditions of the last debuff, the owner is not able to apply the Unarmored status on the enemy.
The chance to hit the effects from the weapon "card" will be more than enough, so with this equipment you can look for relics with ATK and other important characteristics. Although he only applies Bleed with a skill, and not with other abilities, he will still be able to achieve the maximum bonus from the cone passive.
Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat

⭐⭐⭐⭐
HP 43-952
ATK 21-476
DEF 15-330
When the owner hits an enemy that does not have the Ensnared status, he has a base chance of 60-100% to impose the status of Ensnared on this opponent. The defense of the enemy with the status of Ensnared is reduced by 12-16% for 1 turn.Despite the lack of key parameters, with a certain chance it imposes a negative status on the enemy, which lowers defense. This means that both the character and other allies will be able to inflict increased damage on this enemy.
Reforged Remembrance
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
HP 48-1058
ATK 26-582
DEF 21-463
The owner's chance to hit is increased by 40-60%. When the owner deals damage to an enemy with the Wind Shear Burn, Shock or Bleed statuses, he receives 1 lvl. of the Prophet status. This effect can stack up to 4 times. During one battle, each type of periodic damage can only add 1 level of the Prophet status. Each level of this status increases the owner's attack power by 5-9%, and also allows periodic damage to ignore 7.2-10% of the target's defence.Gives a good increase in EHR, but the weapon's passive is fully revealed in periodic groups consisting of characters of different elements. When activating the cone effects, the hero will receive additional ATK and ignore defense for his DoT statuses, but will become highly dependent on the team.
Incessant Rain
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
HP 48-1058
ATK 26-582
DEF 21-463
Increases EHR by 24-40%. When the owner deals damage to an enemy whose number of existing debuffs is greater than or equal to 3, his critical chance increases by 12-20%. After using a basic attack, skill or super ability, there is a 100% chance to inflict the Aether Code status on the target. The damage received by the enemy under this status is increased by 12-20% for 1 turn.Provides an increase to EHR and with a 100% base chance gives the opportunity to further weaken the enemy target, making it more vulnerable to receiving damage. With 3 or more debuffs, the critical chance also increases, which will not be superfluous for boosting instant DPS.
Before the Tutorial Mission Starts (F2P)
⭐⭐⭐⭐
HP 43-952
ATK 21-476
DEF 15-330
Increases EHR by 20-40%. When the owner attacks an opponent with reduced defense, he recovers 4-8 energy.Since cone awakenings are available for free, the card gives 40% EHR and 8 energy. The only caveat is that for the 2nd part of the passive to work, you will need a hero capable of reducing defense.
Hidden Shadow

⭐⭐⭐
HP 38-846
ATK 14-317
DEF 12-264
After using the skill, the owner's next basic attack deals additional damage to the selected enemy equal to 60-120% of ATK.A great option at the start. Matches the rotation and mechanics of the character, as he gains stacks (including skill) to perform an enhanced attack. The passive effect will allow you to inflict additional damage.

What relics and ornaments are needed

Let's take a closer look at the recommended artifacts, including cavern artifacts and planar ornaments.

Cavern relics

NameEffectsBy recommendation
Prisoner in Deep Confinement
2 parts: Increases attack power by 12%.
4 parts: For each periodic effect the enemy has (up to a max of 3), when dealing damage, the owner ignores 6% of that enemy's defense.
Increases DPS multiple times by ignoring enemy defense, so it is considered the strongest set for the hero. The Fighting Club Champion can activate the set bonus on his own, which also applies to all types of damage.
Champion of Streetwise Boxing
2 Piece: Physical Damage +10%.
4 Piece: After attacking or taking damage, gain +5% attack power until end of battle. Stacks up to 5 times.
An excellent set of relics, as it provides key enhancements: increases physical bonus by 10% and ATK up to 25% after hitting or receiving damage. The character can gain the maximum number of stacks within 2-3 turns.
Prisoner in Deep Confinement
Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters
2 Piece: Increases ATK by 12%.
2 parts: Increases damage dealt to enemies with Debuffs by 12%.
The best 2v2 mix that can be used before getting all the parts of the Prisoner. The combination of ATK and damage percentage increase works well in any position.
Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters
2 parts: Increases damage dealt to enemies with Debuffs by 12%.
4 parts: Increases Critical Chance by 4%. The owner's Critical Bonus dealt to enemies with at least 2/3 debuffs is increased by 8%/12% respectively. After the owner inflicts debuffs on an enemy, the above effects are increased by 100% for 1 turn.
A decent set for a playstyle where the unit relies less on periodic Bleed statuses. Two pieces of the set increase skill damage, while the full set increases critical chance and damage. Since the hero supports up to two negative statuses, it may be necessary to equip a cone with additional debuffs or have another debuffer in the team.
Champion of Streetwise Boxing
Musketeer of Wild Wheat

Messenger Traversing Hackerspace
2 parts: Physical Damage +10%.
2 parts: Attack power +12%.
2 Piece: Speed +6%.
Until you get the "perfect" sets, you can combine them to achieve a certain effect. For example, if you lack speed and ATK, the Hackerspace in combination with the Musketeer will do, and so on.

Planar ornaments

NameEffectsBy recommendation
Pan-Cosmic Commercial Enterprise
2 Piece: Effect hit chance +10%. Attack power is increased by an amount equal to 25% of the chance to hit the effect, up to a maximum of 25%.If you can't get the required amount of chance to hit effects in the characteristics of relics, you can get 10% with this set. Another nice addition is the increase in ATK to 12% (at 49% EHR).
Space Sealing Station
2 parts: Attack power +12%. When the speed reaches 120 units and above, in addition to the attack power + 12%.Optimal ornaments due to the increase in ATK, which directly affects all damage inflicted. The indicator of 120+ speed is the required minimum for the character. In addition, he most often uses boots for speed, due to which he meets the requirement and receives a maximum of +24%.
Firmament Frontline: Glamoth
2 parts: Increases the wearer's attack power by 12%. If the owner's speed is higher than or equal to 135/160 units, then the damage they deal increases by 12%/18%.Can be equipped if you manage to reach high speed during battle, for example with Asta and a cone Patience Is All You Need. Otherwise, the set above gives a more stable ATK bonus with a lower speed requirement.
Talia: Kingdom of Banditry
2 Piece: Break Effect +16%. When the speed reaches 145 or more, break effect is additionally increased by 28%.
Not inferior to the previous sets if the opponents have physical weakness. If the unit has 145 speed, the final increase will be 44%, which is quite noticeable. However, to achieve such values, speed is needed not only in the main stat, but also in additional characteristics.

In the team, Luka plays the role of a damage dealer who can inflict and activate Bleed, helping heroes of the Path of the Hunt, Erudition, Destruction, or taking the leading position. Champion of the Underworld is a "medium" Path of Nihility representative for Doctor Ratio, as the character is only able to provide the scientist with 2 active debuffs. In order to fully deploy Veritas, the party will need additional support (for example, you can equip the "Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat" light cone).

Best team samples

Using the characters listed above, you can make the following teams:

Character 1Character 2Character 3Character 4Features
Luka
Kafka
Little Gui
Sampo
Pela
Cipher
Bailu
Natasha
Kafka is needed in the team for high damage. She will also automatically detonate DoT statuses on enemies before their turn. Pela lowers enemy defense, removes 1 buff from one target, Cipher increases damage inflicted on enemies. A healer capable of maintaining the team's survivability will do well in the last slot.
Luka
Bronya
Tingyun
Asta
Hanya
Imaginary MC
March 7
Gepard
A team without a sub-DD, but with the Underworld champion being strengthened by a Path of Harmony character. If you have a well-leveled Gepard, he will be enough for defense. In this case, another buffer can be added in the third position to provide the main DPS hero with additional bonuses.
Kafka
Luka
Swan
Sampo
Tribbie
Aventurine
Lingsha
A very strong team with periodic damage. Kafka is the main DD. At the same time, the speed of secondary DDs should be higher so that Kafka can use their DoT statuses for instant activation. You can also use Tribbie, which will provide the team with buffs. Aventurine (or any other support character available in the collection) is perfect as a support.
Kafka
Luka
Little Gui
Topaz
Any hero Path of Abundance
In the previous team, you can consider Serval for applying Shock or Guinaifen (Himeko, Hook) for Burn. With Topaz, the team will more often stick to basic attacks to provoke Kafka's bonus attacks. This replacement is relevant for content where there is a fight against a crowd of monsters with Lightning or fire weakness.
Acheron
Luka
Cipher
Pela
Gallagher
Fire MC
Path of Nihility characters apply damage over time statuses and other debuffs, allowing Acheron to quickly accumulate Slashed Dream charge points to use her superpower. Gallagher is a healer who also has the ability to apply debuffs. Instead of him, you can use the Fire Trailblazer wearing the "Trend of the Universal Market".
Sushang
Luka
Silver Wolf
Natasha
The team is built on the fact that Silver Wolf creates a vulnerability to physical elements with the help of her skill, thanks to which key damage dealers become more effective, and the group is more flexible, regardless of the composition of the enemies. The composition plays especially well against elites and bosses.
Argenti
Silver Wolf
Luka
Natasha
An alternative team with a combination of AoE and solo damage. Argenti is a powerful physical attacker, can independently restore energy and accumulates crit. chance throughout the battle. Any buffer or debuffer can be placed in the second slot, depending on the play style and the presence of vulnerabilities. Natasha in this team often uses basic attack to accumulate action points.

Conclusion

Luka Honkay

Luka is a Path of Nihility character who specializes in debuffing one enemy by applying Bleed. In a team, he can take the position of the main or secondary damage dealer. Although he needs an additional source of AoE in a fight against a group of enemies, he is not demanding in terms of build and eidolons. It is enough to gain ATK and speed for the hero to demonstrate good damage for an epic.

The main feature of the Fight Club champion is the presence of a special status, Fighting Will, which allows you to immediately deal damage from Bleed and thus deal with the enemy much more effectively and quickly, without waiting for his turn. This buffs the basic attack to "Sky-Shatter Fist", which not only activates DoT, but also deals additional damage, which makes the character especially in demand against bosses and elites.

We hope we've helped you understand the mechanics of the Underworld champion's abilities in Honkai: Star Rail and put together the best build for Luka. Feel free to aks questions in comments, so that the author or other players are able to help you.
