Maha Vasudevayaputra in a cage

In Genshin Impact, Maha Vasudevayaputra is a Grounded Geoshroom and a special enemy living in the territory of the Temple of Space. It is a descendant of a revered Sumerian deity and is under the care of a researcher named Mardava.

During combat, the enemy enters the Scorched state and uses powerful attacks. While various teams can defeat the Blessed With Excess, only teams of two specific elements can simultaneously defeat the targets tied to the special form.

Where to find Maha Vasudevayaputra

The mushroom dwells in a special cube located in the deserted part of Asmoday's domain. To reach it, begin "A Long Day in the Mountains" quest chain and complete the "Unofficial Chronicles of the Desert Pavilion" stage. After clearing the area of the watcher's influence, you can speak with Mardava and fight the monster.

The arena is located in the northwest corner of the Desert Pavilion. Before the fight begins, the boss is locked in a dimensional trap. Choose the appropriate dialogue option with the Sumerian to start.

After the first encounter, tracking becomes available through the Chronicles of Valor with Katerina. He can also be encountered on the 12th floor. the Abyss under the name of Experienced Earthman Geo Morovik.

How long does it take for the boss to respawn?

The Blessed With Excess can be defeated once per real-world day. It only returns after a server update.

How to defeat Maha Vasudevayaputra in Genshin Impact

The enemy has no special elemental resistances, but requires a Lunar or regular Bloom team. The Scorched effect makes it more aggressive and powerful, and to remove the condition, fill the bar next to its HP bar with Dendro damage.

Try not to use Electro and Pyro - they make the enemy to activate the special mechanic faster.

Two of the three goals revolve around keeping it in its normal form.

Top Teams

Set up your team around a Hydro or Dendro damage dealer. Catalysts of these elements work best with a sub-damage dealer of the second element. Focus on one of three group types:

Consider these options:

Character 1Character 2Character 3Character 4Features
NeferColumbina
Aino
LaumaNahida
Baizhu
Lunar-Bloom Group. The last slot is optional: choose a hero based on your skills and survivability. The main thing is to stay close to the monster and don't let it turn into Scorched.
NahidaNilouLaumaKokomi
Barbara
Bountiful Cores hit harder than regular Buds, but keeping the boss in normal form requires a reliable Dendro sub-DD. In such a team, it's best to attack with Kokomi or Barbara, who will activate the reaction.
Nahida
Lauma
Yelan
Xingqiu
FurinaBaizhuA team with two Resonances. Although it lacks a buffer like Nilou to help detonate the buds, it's possible to defeat the monster with powerful Hydro sub-DDs.
ColumbinaNahidaFurinaLaumaBaizhuThe composition is similar to the option above, but more expensive and stronger. Ideally, the fourth slot should have Lauma C1, and Nahida or Columbina has to wield Prototype Amber to compensate for the lack of a full-fledged healer. If survivability is really tight, you can swap the priestess for Baizhu.

Get back to normal state

At the start of the battle, the mushroom envelops itself in Pyro and enters a powered-up phase. To earn the second reward, defeat Maha Vasudevayaputra after it has returned to its normal state at least once.

To do this, charge the bar next to the health bar with Dendro hits. The bar will light up when the boss loses the buff.

Defeat the boss before the second phase of Scorched

For the third objective, defeat Maha Vasudevayaputra after it first returns to normal but before it enters the Scorched state.

After the bar fills for the first time, keep it active and don't let it drop to the minimum. This isn't difficult if you have at least one Dendro Catalyst in your team. The main thing is to avoid companions with Pyro or Electro skills, as they will trigger the local legend's power-up and prevent you from meeting the requirements.

Rewards

Trophies for the three requirements can be obtained from Katheryne:

Defeating Maha Vasudevayaputra is easy if you have at least one reliable Dendro companion. If you haven't beaten the other enemies from the Valiant Chronicles, we recommend reading the separate guide to local legends.

I got two medals because I wasn't World Level 8. I got a pack of Columbine, Level 40 Colley, 70 Dendro GG, and just in case, I got Escoffier. Overall, it turned out pretty well.

Phew, I managed to recover my account.
I beat the boss with the same team they suggested: Nahid, Ye Lan, and Furins, but instead of Baiju, whom I don't have, I took Yao Yao. It worked for all three rewards. I really thought it wouldn't work out.

I got three medals with Tignari (wearing whatever), Loen (I don't have any Dendro or Hydro DDs equipped), Layla, and Klumba. Tignari and Klumba maintain Dendro status, and Layla provides a shield in case the mushroom decides to attack you, but she wasn't even needed because after the first Dendro gauge fills and maintains it, it just stomps around like a fool and doesn't even try to hurt you. I hit Loen, then switched to Tignari and Klumba, filled the Dendro gauge again, and finished you off. Instead of Loen, you can use any of your favorite non-pyro or non-electro DDs, just remember to maintain Dendro.
