Midey in HSR — a legendary representative of the Path of Destruction and one of the "Golden Descendants" following the prophecy within the Amphoraeus story campaign of "The Eternal Land." The young man is the primary DPS character, whose core mechanics revolve around increasing combat potential through health consumption.
Accumulates levels of "Charge" during combat and plays out from a special state called Vendetta. In this mode, the hero's HP increases, while defense, conversely, decreases to zero. As a result, he requires fairly good support from an Abundance character, while the mechanics don't allow for cooperation with Preservation units.
The selection of appropriate gear is equally demanding: significant investments in health and offensive-type stats are essential. This guide fully addresses these aspects and offers the most appealing builds, allowing demigods to fully realize their potential without any complications.

How to Get the Character

Mydei can be obtained in the "Event Warp" called "Fiery Lionheart".
You can track Mydei's rerun through the constantly updated banner schedule.
Strengths and Weaknesses

The Immortal Prince acts as a primary damage dealer, growing in power through health reduction. He's a self-sufficient and powerful fighter, capable of easily clearing endgame content, but to do so, you must take into account all his attributes:
| Strengths | Weaknesses |
| Belonging to the "Destruction" path allows for quick dispatch of varying numbers of enemies. Therefore, he's suitable for several modes: "Forgotten Halls", "Apocalyptic Shadow", "Pure fiction". | Abilities that allow you to restore your own HP aren't enough to maintain an acceptable level of survivability. Abundance, with its consistently high healing, is crucial for comfortable play. |
| The Chrysos Heir is a fairly good hyper-carry character who can handle not only normal content, but also high-level content. | Limited range of suitable F2P health boosting gear and some reliance on event support characters, which can be challenging for new players. |
| Investments in HP are essential for effective implementation. Critical indicators are no less significant, but they can be left at an "average" value. | Dependence on the Vendetta state: without this state, the demigod of Strife loses much of his effectiveness. |
| Interesting gameplay built around attacks applied automatically makes the character a unique representative of the DPS class among all Paths. | Automatically applied skills, although unique, can complicate the passage of activities where enemies have specific mechanics. |
Mydei's Best Builds in Honkai: Star Rail

Mydeimos the Immortal is a primary DPS character whose rotation is built around HP and Charges. He deals solo and mass attacks in battle, so he is good in modes that focus on killing single "large" enemies, as well as in activities where you need to fight waves of enemies.
The dependence on high health and zero defense during the Vendetta state forces the player to take the Mydei build in HSR seriously. The unit is not only important HP gains, but also combat stats: Crits and imaginary dmg bonus. Depending on the intended build, the need for speed might increase.
Recommended Stats
When selecting artifacts, focus on the following “upper” characteristics:
| Head | HP (fixed) |
| Hands | Attack Power (fixed) |
| Body | Crit damage (priority) or HP (alternative) |
| Boots | Speed (fast build) or HP (slow build) |
| Planar Sphere | HP (priority) or bonus imaginary dmg (alternative) |
| Link Rope | HP |
The priority of the “lower” indicators is built on the following basis:
Crits ≥ HP(%) > speed
Recommended final stat values at level 80 (including all gear, i.e. Light Cone + Cave Relics + Planar Jewelry):
| CRIT Rate | 80% to 100% in battle | The "Bloody Chiton" trail passively increases critical chance during combat, so when equipping cave relics, you may want to consider the bonus in "Body" or additional stats. |
| CRIT DMG | 160% and above | To maintain stable DPS, it is desirable for the indicator to exceed 150% without third-party effects, that is, bonuses from Harmony heroes. |
| Health | 8 units and above | For the "Bloody Chiton" trail to work properly, your health must reach 8,000 points or higher. Considering that the hero's abilities scale with this stat, you can safely use the following rule: the higher the HP the better. |
| Speed | Base value or 134 units. | The "Slow" build assumes that Speed remains at its base value (95 + 5 from "Traces"). In this case, the chosen Harmony, capable of advancing an ally's action, should have a Speed of 160 or higher to offer stable moves. |
His defensive stats are practically useless, as he trades his survivability for high health gains in his "Vengeance" state. Status resistances are also irrelevant, as the "Tyrant's Thirst" trait grants complete immunity to status-based crowd control from the talent.
Light Cone Rating
The best weapons are those that increase health, as well as provide bonuses to outgoing damage and/or increase various offensive stats. The ideal "card" option is the Signature Light Cone, Flame of Blood, Blaze My PathHowever, in addition to the legendary weapons, the game also contains other worthy alternatives.

![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 62-1376 ATK 21-476 DEF 18-396 |
The Owner's max HP increases by 18-30%, and incoming healing by 20-40%. When the wearer uses a skill or super ability, he spends his own HP equal to 6-8% from the max. health value, as a result, the damage of the attack applied increases by 30-50%. | Signa increases both HP and incoming healing, which can offset the drawbacks of the hero's ability mechanics. The DPS boost will be incredibly useful thanks to the proposed percentages (30/50% + 30/50% = 60/100%). |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 57-1270 ATK 26-582 DEF 15-330 |
Owner's crit chance is increased by 18-30% and its max. HP is on 18-30%When the wearer receives an attack or spends their HP, the damage they deal increases by 24-40%. This effect is removed after the owner uses an attack. | A legendary alternative that will be valued for its additional crit chance boost, allowing you to focus on K/U when picking relics. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 48-1058 ATK 21-476 DEF 12-264 |
Owner's Max HP is increased by 12-24%When the wearer loses or regains HP, their crit bonus increases by 18-36% for 2 turns (this effect can only occur once per turn). | An excellent F2P option that increases a unit's key stat and critical hit rating. The Demigod of Discord easily receives the latter buff, as the health bar constantly fluctuates during battle. |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 48-1058 ATK 24-529 DEF 15-330 |
Crit chance increases by 12-20%The damage dealt by the skill and super ability is increased by 24-40%. | Since the priority stat is damage/kill, Blood of the Past is slightly inferior to Ninja's Record. However, the increased damage from the skill and ultimate will be extremely beneficial, considering these are the main sources of DPS. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 48-1058 ATK 21-476 DEF 12-264 |
The damage dealt by the owner is increased by 20-40%. Additional damage dealt to enemies whose current HP percentage is higher than or equal to the wearer's current HP percentage is increased by 20-40%. | An epic option, suitable for both experienced and new players. However, in protracted battles, the first part of the light cone effect will be more stable than the second. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 48-1058 ATK 22-476 DEF 12-264 |
When the owner's HP lost in a single attack exceeds 25% of his Max HP, or when the HP absorbed by him exceeds 25% of his Max HP, he will immediately recover 15% of his HP, while the damage he deals is increased by 25-50% for 2 turns (this effect can only occur once every 3 turns). | It will become an optimal F2P option due to the synergy with hero mechanics, but it is still more situational, since the effect is not activated on a permanent basis. |
Additional weapons that can be used as an alternative:
- "Dance at Sunset" (Light) — Cone provides a high base HP boost, increases a unit's chance of being attacked, and buffs damage/damage. The main drawback is that you won't be able to use the second part of the passive due to the lack of bonus attack.
- Collapsing Sky (ed.) — an option with a stable increase to skill damage. Can be equipped if there are no alternatives for the Destruction class.
What relics and ornaments are needed
Artifacts, like the Light Cone, must meet the basic requirements of the character - increase HP and overall combat power.
Cavern relics
| Set and its effects | Recommendation |
![]() 2 parts: crit chance +8%. |
The best set, offering a boost to critical chance, as well as increased DPS from the skill and ultimate—the character's two main offensive abilities. Since the empowered skill deals the most damage, try to ult before it. |
![]() 2 parts: max HP +12%. |
The main advantage is the HP bonus, which allows you to comfortably reach the recommended value. The set is slightly inferior to the relics above due to the lower need for critical chance, but it is still a worthy alternative. |
![]() 2 parts: crit chance +8%. In combination with sets:
|
Standard combinations of sets offering bonuses relevant to a unit. This option is used until complete sets are obtained or when more suitable substats are available to balance the final stats. |
Planar ornaments
| Set and its effects | Recommendation |
![]() 2 parts: Max HP +12%. If Max HP is greater than or equal to 5000, the Critical Bonus of both the owner and their Memory Spirit is increased by 28%. |
Even though the hero lacks the Spirit of Memory, this decoration is the best choice for him. Firstly, it provides a health boost, and secondly, it increases the critical hit rate to 28%, further enhancing the combat effectiveness of the demigod of discord. |
![]() 2 parts: Critical Chance +8%. If Critical Chance is greater than or equal to 70%, damage dealt by basic attacks and skills is increased by 20%. |
A gear option aimed at increasing critical chance and damage from the skill. It perfectly matches the unit's mechanics, making it an excellent alternative. However, it may lead to excessive damage due to the "Bloody Chiton" effect. |
At the beginning of the game it will also work Fleet of the AgelessIn this case, only the HP increase is of interest, which is important for a character at any stage. Therefore, any source of increasing this stat will be useful.
Team Guide for Mydei in HSR

Midei's role in the team is as the primary DPS character. Therefore, his squad should consist of support units (Paths of Harmony, Oblivion, and Abundance). In rare exceptions, teaming up with damage-dealing units is acceptable, but in this case, it's important to choose partners who won't limit the hero's ability to use action points.
Which heroes are suitable?
Support (Harmony and Nothingness), which offers excellent synergy:
| Character | Features |
![]() |
Allows the "Kill God to Become a God" skill to be used without consuming charges, further increasing the critical damage of this attack. If the youth is not in a strengthened state, it increases its duration by 100%. |
![]() |
A versatile support that increases damage regardless of whether allies' abilities scale with attack power or HP. At the same time, the demigod of discord will be able to restore her energy through frequent strikes. |
![]() |
A hero who offers impressive bonuses: 100% promotion effect, energy regeneration for frequent use of the ultimate (this is also important for the enhanced skill), increased overall DPS and crits. |
![]() |
It can replace Resurrection or serve as additional support in a squad with it. The attack damage increase will be useless, but Robin offers other positive effects, such as a bonus to damage reduction. |
![]() |
Her superpower creates a zone that increases all allies' penetration of all types of resistance. It also buffs all outgoing damage, making her an excellent unit. |
![]() |
Although her skill progression is only 50%, it does provide a constant influx of skill points thanks to the recovery mechanic, increased skill points, and increased overall damage. |
| It's convenient because it serves not only as a sub-damage dealer but also as a debuffer. Its primary purpose is to increase damage dealt by allies, which is active throughout the entire battle (provided that Track 3 is unlocked). | |
![]() |
A non-existence with the functions of a secondary DPS unit. Its ability creates a zone where allied heroes' ultimates deal increased damage (the ultimate ability is one of the most important "buttons" of the demigod of discord). |
![]() |
One of the best budget support class representatives for Golden Descendant: it advances the action and allows for additional true damage thanks to the talent "Memo". |
Most preferred Abundance for the team:

Provides massive and constant healing through active skills and the Spirit of Memory's abilities. Additionally, it deals decent damage through the Iki skill. It also provides HP boosts, which is especially useful for Zlatius. |
![]() |
Prized for its consistent healing. It can maintain the immortal prince's HP at a proper level, while also offering energy restoration through the activation of "Tail: Spiritual Dominance." |
![]() |
A character that's easy on skill points because she heals passively: when she reaches level 2 of Abyssal Flower, she creates a special field; while it's active, the heroes' offensive abilities also restore their HP. |
![]() |
Replaces all legendary healers and fits perfectly into AoE content. This is due to its combination with the "Drunken Brawl" talent: when a target with the "Dead Drunk" status is hit, the attacker restores HP. |
DPS characters that work well with Zlatius' mechanics:
| Character | Features |

Upon reaching level 2 of the "Syzygy" status, Midei enters a special state called "Spectral Transmigration." While this effect is active, attacks absorb health from allies, which can be useful for Midei. |

All about leveling
The table below shows the resources required to ascend and fully level up a Demigod of Strife:
As a result, to fully upgrade Mydei (ascension + skill improvement + learning “traces”) you will need:
- Credits (×3 308 000);
- Traveler's Guide (×290);
- Fear-Stomped Flesh (×56), Courage-Torn Chest (×71), Glory-Aspersed Torso (×73) - components dropped by enemies from the Titankin category;
- Borisin Teeth (×18), Lupitoxin Sawteeth (×69), Moon Rage Fang (×139) - materials obtained in the activity "Scalegorge Waterscape: Crimson Calyx"";
- Harbinger of Strife (×65) - an item from "Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Sloggyre";
- Auspice Sliver (×12) - resource dropped by Boss Feixiao (Skysplitter: Echo of War);
- Traces of Destiny (×8).
How skills work

The main feature of Midea, as a representative of the "Destruction" class, is mechanics of absorbing one's own health for the sake of increasing combat power. Due to this, it can be comparable to Blade (Destruction: Wind) or Arlan (Destruction: Electric), which have similar functionality if we consider their capabilities.
During battle, using skills or taking damage, the demigod of discord accumulates levels of "Charge", subsequently entering an enhanced state of "Blood Vengeance" and begins to use one of the advanced skill types:
- "Kingslayer Be King" spends HP;
- "Godslayer Be God" spends "Charges".
During Blood Feud, each of the skills applied automatically, and defense values are reduced to 0. The HP absorption mechanic makes the man quite demanding of representatives of Abundance and narrows the range of supports used in squads.
Exhausting battles force you to constantly take care of your healthAlthough the "Blood Feud" state allows you to ignore a fatal blow once per battle, doing so is not recommended. This is due to the cumulative levels of "Charge": if you lose the benefits of the special status, the existing number of effects will reset.
Active skills
Active skills include:
- basic attack - deals minor imaginary damage;
- skill - consumes HP and deals significant damage to the selected enemy, as well as a small percentage of DPS to targets adjacent to the main enemy;
- ult - restores health and offers additional "Charge" points, then attacks the selected target and those adjacent to it, while imposing the negative "Taunt" status on them;
- technique - applies "Daze" and, when entering combat, "Taunt", offers additional "Charge" points and deals fixed damage to the area.
Cage of Broken Lance || Mass attack, negative status on enemies
After using the technique, it attracts enemies in a certain area and applies "Daze" to them (effect duration - 10 seconds), which can be equated to the "Stun" status, since enemies under the negative effect cannot attack allies.
If a character attacks enemies under the "Daze" effect, then upon entering combat he will inflict imaginary damage equal to 80%. from the max value of your own HP. Additionally, the affected targets will be inflicted with "Taunt" for 1 move, and Mydei himself will receive 50 "Charges".
Vow of Voyage || Single attack (selected enemy)
Deals non-true DPS to the target enemy equal to 25-65% from max HP of the character.
Deaths are Legion, Regrets are None || Mass attack (selected enemy + adjacent targets)
Consumes 50% of the character's current health, subsequently:
- Deals imaginary damage to the selected enemy equal to 45-112.5% from the value of max HP;
- deals imaginary damage to adjacent targets equal to 25-62.5% from the max HP value.
If the current health is not enough, then using the skill lowers HP to 1 unit.
"Kingslayer Be King" || Mass attack (selected enemy + adjacent targets), applied automatically
Consumes 35% of the character's current health, subsequently:
- Deals imaginary damage to the selected enemy equal to 55-137.5% from the value of max HP;
- deals imaginary damage to adjacent targets equal to 33-82.5% from the max HP value.
Unlike the "normal" skill, the variation in question is used automaticallyIf the current health is insufficient, then activating the skill reduces HP to 1 unit.
"Godslayer Be God" || Mass attack (selected enemy + adjacent targets), applied automatically
Consumes 150 "Charges", subsequently:
- Deals imaginary damage to the selected enemy equal to 140-350% from the value of max HP;
- deals imaginary damage to adjacent targets equal to 84-210% from the max HP value.
Unlike the "normal" skill, the variation in question is used automatically, it also does not affect the accumulation of "Charge" levels.
Throne of Bones || Character support, mass attack (selected enemy + adjacent targets), negative status on enemies
Restores 15-22.5% HP and gains 20 "Charges". Then deals imaginary damage to the target enemy equal to 96-192% from the value of max health, as well as adjacent targets, equal to 60-120% from the value of max health.
Additionally applies the "Taunt" status to attacked enemies for 2 turns.
The next use of Godslayer Be God will attack the target enemy first, this effect only works on the new target.
Passive Skills
Passive skills include the talent, which puts you into a special state and allows you to use enhanced variations of the skills "Kill the King to Become the King" (spends HP) and "Kill the God to Become the God" (spends Charges).
"Blood for blood" || Enhanced state
For each health point spent, you receive 1 "Charge" (limit - 200). When the number of "Charges" levels reaches 100, spends them to restore your own health in the amount of 15-30% of max HP, advance personal action forward by 100%. and enter the Vendetta state.
In the Vendetta state, the hero's max health is increased by 50%. from the current HP value, and the defense drops to 0. As for the attack power - within the scope of the Vendetta action:
- during a personal turn, automatically applies the enhanced skill “Kill the king to become king”;
- Once the number of "Charges" reaches 150, the character immediately gets 1 extra turn and automatically uses "Kill God to Become God".
Receiving fatal damage while in the Vendetta state does not render you incapable of combat. Instead, it resets your total Charge stacks and loses the Vendetta status, additionally restoring 50% of max HP.
Leveling Order
Skill ≥ Super Ability > Talent > Basic Attack
The ability and ultimate are developed evenly, as they are important in the rotation and are closely interrelated. Talent is no less important and also requires investment. Basic attack usage is minimized, so the costs are either minimized early on or ignored in favor of resource conservation.
Traces
Learning hidden talents allows you to get the following increases to characteristics:
- Crit. damage +37.3%;
- max health +18.0%;
- speed +5.
| Crit dmg +5.3% (lvl 1) | |||
| Earth and Water (A2): If Mydei is fatally attacked during Vendetta, he will not exit this state - this effect can trigger up to 3 times per battle. | Max. HP +4.0% (A2) | Crit dmg +5.3% (A3) | Speed +2 (A3) |
| Thirty Tyrants (A4): While in the Blood Feud state, the unit is immune to crowd control effects. | Crit dmg +8.0% (A4) | Max HP +6.0% (A5) | Crit dmg +8.0% (A5) |
| Bloodied Chiton (A6): If your Max HP is above 4000 at the start of the battle, for every 100 extra HP (up to 4000 extra HP), your Crit Chance increases by 1.2%, your Charge level gain from enemies increases by 2.5%, and your healing received increases by 0.75%. | Speed +3 (A6) | ||
| Max HP +8.0% (lvl 75) | Crit dmg +10.7% (lvl 80) |
Eidolons
The best eidolons of Mydei are considered to be first, second and sixth:
- E1 Increases the damage of one of the main enhanced skills, which can significantly improve combat effectiveness and will be especially useful when completing high-level modes.
- E2 Allows you to ignore defense, which also impacts your DPS output. It also makes it easier to build up "Charge" levels for entering the "Blood Feud" state and using "Kill a God to Become a God" more frequently.
- E6 — a power peak, as each battle will begin with the "Blood Vengeance" status, which is the basis of the rotation. A nice bonus is the reduced cost of the "Kill a God to Become a God" skill.
As a F2P player, to maximize the effectiveness of your character, it is recommended to stick with the second eidolon.
| E1 | The damage multiplier of the primary target of Godslayer Be God skill is increased by 30%. This skill now deals imaginary damage to all enemies equal to the primary target multiplier. |
| E2 | While in Vendetta, damage dealt ignores 15% of the target's defense, and after receiving healing, 40% of the healed HP is converted into "Charge." The total amount of "Charge" converted cannot exceed 40, and this "Charge" amount is reset after any unit's action. |
| E3 | Skill level +2. The maximum level is 15. The level of basic attack +1. The maximum level is 10. |
| E4 | While in the Vendetta status, crit dmg increases by 30% and enemy attacks restore HP equal to 10% of his max health. |
| E5 | Superpower level +2. Max level - 15. Talent level +2. Max level - 15. |
| E6 | Upon entering combat, immediately enters the Vendetta state. The number of "Charge" levels required to use the enhanced skill Godslayer Be God is reduced to 100. |
How to play Mydei in HSR

Midea's rotation revolves around the "Blood Vengeance" state, which the hero enters when he accumulates 150 "Charge." These charges are also used to use the enhanced skill "Kill a God to Become a God." Accordingly, during battle, it's important to focus on accumulating "Charge" levels, which are earned from:
- use of technology (+50);
- activation of superpowers (+20);
- consumption of your own HP (using a skill);
- receiving damage from enemies;
- becoming the target of an ally that can absorb HP from other units (e.g. Jingliu).
Additionally, although the Vendetta state increases the hero's overall HP, one must not forget that it also reduces his defense to zero - this can be fatal if the squad does not have stable Abundance, and Mydei himself is poorly leveled.
Taking into account all of the above, during the fight, adhere to the following recommendations:
- Activate the techniques of selected units in your squad, including "Cage of Total Defeat", to inflict on enemies Taunt when entering battle - this status will allow the hero to become a priority target for enemy attacks, which, in turn, will speed up the accumulation of "Charges".
- Skill is the most priority ability to use in the absence of the Vendetta status and a charged ultimate skill. If there is a shortage of action points, try to use the active skills of allies in such a way that at least one skill point remains by the time Mydei starts acting.
- Once a character enters the "Blood Feud" state, the only thing you'll need to keep an eye on is their health. Because the enhanced variations of the skill are used automatically, the player will no longer need to control the abilities being used. The main task is to maintain the unit's vitality at a high or at least acceptable level.
- The superpower is used as energy accumulates - this skill not only deals damage and offers additional units of "Charge", but also restores HP.
Is The Character Worth Pulling?

In Honkai: Star Rail, the immortal Chrysos Heir Mydei is a controversial but extremely powerful character for his path. Constant HP drain, automatic attacks, and the Vendetta status, which reduces defense to zero, make the Destruction unit unfriendly to F2P players and newcomers. These aspects can significantly complicate high-level content without additional investment and careful attention to overall gameplay.
To play comfortably as a character, it is necessary to:
- get good equipment, choosing a suitable light cone and artifacts with acceptable “upper” and “lower” characteristics;
- pick a balanced squad by putting a good representative of Abundance, as well as providing the unit with Harmony, which can offer a number of bonuses that significantly increase overall combat effectiveness.
By taking care of the above details, you can mitigate the downsides, gaining a quick completion rate in "Forgotten Hall" and "Apocalyptic Shadow," as well as acceptable wave-killing speed in "Pure Fiction." However, whether this character is worth the investment is the sole responsibility of the player choosing to farm Mydei. This is especially true when you consider the more forgiving old and new characters who are rerunning or appearing in the background.
Which is better: signature or E1
When comparing the signature weapon and the first eidolon, it's worth noting that the "Flame of Blood, Blaze My Path" cone is superior for a number of reasons:
- Provides HP boosts.
- Increases incoming healing, making it easier for the chosen Abundance to work.
- Increases the DPS of skills and super abilities - the main skills of the character.
At the same time, the first Eidolon only offers an additional damage multiplier to the "Kill a God to Become a God" skill, which is inferior to the benefits of the signature weapon "card." Therefore, if the choice arises between getting the signature or the E1, the former is the better option.
