In the update Zenless Zone Zero Season 2.8 continues the story of the "Champions of the Caverns" tournament, where an unknown person stole the Lumialloy amplifier. In the second season's epilogue, "A New Sunset over New Eridu," the main characters will get to know the arbiter Promea better and meet the improved cyborg Billy.
These characters will appear in the Signal Search phases of the first and second patch, alongside reruns of familiar agents. In each phase, you'll also be able to participate in entertaining and combat-focused limited-time events, complete new levels of permanent modes, and collect remaining Polychromes using the new tracker feature.

Zenless Zone Zero 2.8 release date
Version 2.8 will be launched in ZZZ May 6, 2026A couple of days before the release, pre-loading will become available in the launcher, and server maintenance will begin six hours before the patch goes live. Afterward, a compensation of 600 Polychromes will be sent to your in-game email.
What will be the banners
The official broadcast revealed the signal search schedule:
- The referee will be released in the first half. Promeas and the dream lover's reran Lucia.
- The Knight of Justice will appear in the second phase. Star Billy and female operatives Orpheus and Magus.
The first phase
Dates: from May 6 to May 26, 2026
The first half of the campaign will feature S-rank agents. Promea (Anomaly, Ice) и Lucia (Support, Ether)The chance of getting 4⭐ will also increase. Sokaku (Support, Ice) и Lucy (Support, Fire).

Continuation of the Main Line
An unknown person has stolen a luminal alloy amplifier. Following the only lead, the proxy and the team search for Ramiel, when Promea suddenly joins them. She had been monitoring the tournament organizers, the Rusty Cliff organization, but her own investigation forced her to join forces with the proxy. As the story progresses, they will encounter new bosses and learn more about the mysterious Ramiel.
Amplifiers
Two legendary weapons will be added to the game:
- 5⭐ Icy New Moon — a "ball" for the Anomaly class with the primary stat "Anomaly Control." Increases the damage of the wearer's anomaly explosions and grants them a bonus to ice damage.
- 5⭐ Star Visor — A weapon of destruction that increases the wielder's health and critical chance. After using a special attack, it grants the wielder a physical piercing damage buff.
Banbu
A new A-rank robot will be available in version 2.8. BurabashkaIt deals ethereal damage to enemies and requires an Assault or Anomaly agent on the team to fully utilize it.
Hoshimi Miyabi's wardrobe additions
The fox will receive a new outfit in keeping with the Hoshimi clan's style - Flower under the frost»During the patch, it can be purchased in the in-game store at a 20% discount, making the starting price 1350 Monochrome. In subsequent versions, the skin will be available for purchase at the standard price of 1680 donation currency.
What events will there be?
The developers will present a number of exciting new events, as well as reruns of old activities with interesting plots:
- "New delivery" with cipher copies in the first phase and a login event with banbulets in the second.
- Heroes of Banbutopia — Explore the Banbu amusement park, collect resources, and find lost robots. You'll be rewarded with Burabashka and its cores to boost your rank.
- "I'm an artist, that's how I see it." — Help the Villainous Storm find the characters he has depicted in his own unique way on wanted posters.
- "The Last Resort" — a combat event to score the highest number of points.
- "Inexplicable, but not a fact" — a text puzzle. Join the "Nightmare Shack" team to investigate the mystical stories of characters and NPCs.
Other innovations
Other minor improvements, additions and optimizations:
- The version will feature a "Polychrome Guide" feature—navigation through uncollected polychromes with a timer for obtaining them.
- You can selectively delete game files that have already been downloaded but are not in use through the settings.
- ZZZ will be released on Steam later this summer. You can already add the game to your wishlist, and once it reaches 300,000 wishlist members, the developers will send you polychromes via email.
- The story boss in the chapter "A New Sunset over a New Eridu" will introduce the mechanic of Corrosion, an anomalous wind attribute, for the first time.

The long-awaited Miyabi skin turned out harmonious, exactly what we were expecting, and with minimal fan service (though I would have liked more), it maintains the original's quality.
I'll definitely buy it, of all the hunter skins, Yixuan's is the worst.
Is this a gimmick the developers have, introducing skins for old characters before introducing stronger replacements? Skins should be introduced either at or around release, but here they're just trying to make money from waifu players. And after the highly controversial Cissy, who left me completely disappointed and with constant blocks that completely ruined my previous imbalances, I'm starting to not care about the game anymore; it's all about the storyline and waifu gaming and what happens next. I understand that Ethereal Wolf is for the anomaly-seekers, but for Ethereal Yixuan, Lucia, and Fufa to fail to reach 20 is a disaster. Miyabi, Astra, Yuzuha, and Nicole are also in the same boat; they don't do any damage. Maybe it's okay for kick-heavy players, but for me, as a casual player, it's just not my cup of tea. That's right, Z is sagging in revenue, so they're trying to squeeze tugriks out of the people in blocks, not even for new DDs, but for whole bundles, for maximum profit, not even mentioning signals and constellations.
Oh my god. Most of their skins aren't much better than the re-release. That would be something to worry about. Just think about it, it's still a fully-fledged skin, and that's the only one from Gashni for the half-dead Diluc!
If Miyabi doesn't work for you, it's not Miyabi's problem, it's your problem.
Is this strong replacement in the same room with us now? Doesn't it bother you that Promea is weaker than Miyabi, especially as a sub DPS? And yes, I wonder why the wolf isn't getting hit? Maybe because you need to use Anomaly + Stun?
I don't know how strong she is, but for some reason, in the squad recommendations on this site, she's listed at the top as a damage dealer, but that's not the point, since the skin should still be released with the character, like it was with Alice, Yuzuha, Astra, and Yixuan, but the developers apparently know better.
"Yeah, I wonder why the Wolf isn't taking damage? Maybe because you need to use Anomaly + Stun?" Ye Shunguang doesn't seem to be stopping Wolf from killing her at 20k+, purely through damage, even though she's not an Anomaly and has a different attribute, and Zhao and Sanna don't have stunners. Miyabi used to care less about attributes, just like Yixuan, but now neither Ether nor any other stunner, nor Fufa's stunner, nor defense ignore, are keeping Yixuan from dealing damage. So what's the point of maximizing your numbers by collecting signature packs if your imbalances are being turned into garbage by their blocks for new characters and the manipulation of "buffs" for these same new characters and mechanics. So, if a player isn't a lacer or a donator, it's easier to simply update their damage dealer to new mechanics that will allow them to rack up 20k+ without investing in cons, signals, and narrow supports or engaging in waifu gaming, since a couple of poorly-collected spins won't make a difference.
You come to this sooner or later in any Mikhoyo game, so I think you shouldn't donate—to avoid feeling bad later for "supporting the developers," and the whole point of any online game is that they can turn into pumpkins with just one patch (so even if everything in the game is perfect, it's not a guarantee that it will always be that way; there are tons of examples).
But usually this works through the thickness of the carcasses and multipliers = the player can still catch up with the Eidolons for some time. If you're blocked by mechanics, the Eidolons are unlikely to pull a half-dead calf out of the urn.
Miyabi's hat skin. I thought it was something free and given for an event (judging by the quality), but they're not selling this.
The characters seem good, but I don't know who to play.
There's a full Angel team, so ripping them apart to get Nangong to Promea to make a profit is a small deal. It's better to have a different team under Uyaz. There are Bernice, Jane, and Caesar, though—maybe we can push them in, especially since Jane will be buffed.
Lucia is a strong support in tier lists, but the only damage dealer for her is Manato, who doesn't have any constellations and isn't very skilled. However, if you knock her out and Billy after her, it might be good, but this is a risky knockout, because if I don't knock Billy out, I'll go back to not having any damage dealers.
Now it's better to save up until 3.0 or later and get new imb if you're not interested in waifu gaming.
Well, Promea is supposed to be compatible with Velina, which comes out in 3.0, so it's not a fact that Nangong will need to be pulled.
Oh, it's good that they didn't put King in the patch. Let's see what they did with Billy.
