World of Tanks released the general test version 1.5.1. The rebalancing of medium tanks continues, this time the German and Japanese tanks are next in line. You can now see session statistics in the hangar interface. Also, an updated version of the Kharkiv winter map will return to the game.
Rebalance of medium tanks
Some tanks will enter the Public Test 1.5.1 with updated characteristics. This is the next step towards more precise vehicle settings that will give vehicles a clearer role on the battlefield.
In order for the changes to have a more consistent look, in addition to the tops, we also revised the performance characteristics of pumped tanks of levels 8 and 9. And the most important thing for many players is the long-awaited upgrade of premium vehicles: the German Pz 58 Mutz and the Japanese STA-2.
German branch
Leopard 1
The top tank of the branch has become better in the role of a fast and maneuverable sniper who works from a long distance. The one-time damage has increased, but the gun reload time has become longer. Slightly improved accuracy and speed of information. In general, the potential average damage per minute has not changed much, it has increased by only 21 units, but firing is now more comfortable.
For the increase in firepower, the vehicle paid with a decrease in the safety margin by 100 units. Maneuverability has slightly deteriorated, but the maximum speed has increased to 70 km / h.
Leopard PT A
At level IX, one-time damage also increased, but armor penetration remained unchanged. The cooldown increased slightly, but it had almost no effect on potential damage per minute, it increased by 110 units. Increased accuracy and accelerated the convergence of the guns.
Replacing the engine with a weaker one led to a decrease in the specific power of the machine. As in the case of level 10, maneuverability has changed slightly for the worse.
Indien-Panzer
At level VIII, the German ST received an increase in one-time damage and armor penetration, while the reload time remained unchanged, so the average damage per minute increased by 87 points. Since this branch is positioned as a sniper, this tank also received an increase in gun accuracy and faster aiming.
Panzer 58 Mutz
The owners of this tank have been asking for an upgrade for a long time and have finally waited for this day. Increasing the alpha strike by 10 won't make much of a difference, but the accuracy has been improved a bit more. The main changes have undergone shells:
- each projectile type received an increase in flight speed from 15% to 18%;
- Armor penetration by a high-explosive fragmentation projectile has doubled from 45 mm to 90 mm, which will significantly increase the effectiveness of the use of high-explosive shells against thin opponents.
The armor remained the same, but the safety margin increased by 50 units. A nice addition was an increase of 10 meters to the review.
Japanese branch
STB-1
Now the gameplay of the top of the Japanese branch is an aggressive game from the tower at medium and close range. It was from this that the developers repelled, changing the performance characteristics for him. The most important innovation is the equipment with a hydropneumatic suspension, similar to Swedish tanks.
The standard vertical declination angles have deteriorated to -6…+9°, but with activated suspension, these values improve to -12…+15°. The burst damage has decreased, but due to the increase in the rate of fire, which now allows you to fire one more shot per minute, the average damage has increased by 122 points. At the same time, armor penetration and accuracy have not changed. The aiming speed of the gun has improved, which is important in close range battles.
The margin of safety has increased by 50 units. The turret armor was significantly increased to 222 mm in the frontal projection. By replacing the engine with a more powerful one, the specific power of the car became greater, but the speed still decreased slightly. The view has decreased by 10 meters.
Type 61
At Tier IX, firepower changes are similar to STB-1: the alpha strike has decreased, but the rate of fire has increased by 1,5 times, so the average damage has increased by as much as 306 units. The aiming of the guns became faster, but the dispersion increased just a little.
The margin of safety has increased by 50 units. The turret armor has been slightly increased in frontal and aft projections. Here, too, the engine was replaced with a more powerful one, but despite the increase in power density, the speed also became lower.
STA-1
At Tier VIII, the Japanese ST has not undergone changes in one-time damage and armor penetration, but it has also increased its rate of fire, as a result of which the average damage per minute has increased by 308 units. Slightly improved accuracy and aiming speed of the gun.
As in the case of technicians of level 9 and 10, the engine was replaced with a more powerful one, but the speed did not change.
STA-2
The only premium ST in Japan also received a small TTX up. The firepower remains unchanged, but the comfort of dealing damage has increased due to the increase in the speed of the projectiles.
After replacing the engine with a more powerful one, the reverse speed increased by 3 km / h. The game from the turret has become more reliable due to the increased armor of the gun mantlet.
Session statistics
Of modpacks Another element migrated to the game - session (post-game) statistics. Now all players in World of Tanks will be able to track their battle progress in detail. You will be able to watch:
- combat effectiveness (rating based on the average values of the main indicators) based on the result of the battles played during the game session or day;
- the same combat effectiveness, but for each individual vehicle from those on which battles were played during the game session;
- the impact of the current results of the game session on the overall dynamics (average) of the account;
- financial statements with the total amount of income / expenses based on the results of the battles.
Therefore, when working on post-game statistics, some changes also affected the Hall of Fame. Now it will contain the following information:
- statistics for all time;
- displaying the impact of the current statistics results on the overall performance for the entire time of the game.
Statistics during the session are available for viewing in the Hangar in the lower right corner, to the side of the "Notification Center" section.
Once a day, the statistics are reset to zero, but if desired, the reset can be done at any time on your own.
Updated map "Kharkiv"
Kharkiv is the first World of Tanks map based on a real city. Previously, many players were outraged by the imperfection of this card, and subsequently it was removed from the game. Guided by the fact that, first of all, heavily armored vehicles felt comfortable here, while poorly protected vehicles experienced obvious inconvenience.
Now in patch 1.5.1, Kharkiv returns in an updated, heavily modified form. The developers tried to preserve the characteristic features of the previous version of the map and at the same time make it more playable by expanding the possibilities for each vehicle class.
Major changes:
- The size of the map has become much larger: 1000x1000 meters.
- The map has been rotated 45°, and the location of the bases has been changed to give players more room to maneuver and use different tactics.
- Urban development (right side of the map) - recreated with maximum historical accuracy at the beginning of 1943.
- Open area (left side of the map) - varied terrain with ample cover. This area was created from scratch, just to increase the comfort of playing medium and light tanks, where they will have room to maneuver. Also, ambush (bush) tank destroyers will also find a use for themselves here covering allies, located on two hills.
- Both sections of the map are separated by an anti-tank moat, which at the same time provides the shortest road to the enemy base.
You can learn more about how to play medium tanks here.
