Sheep in Manor Lords - one of the types of livestock that can be purchased and then bred. Unlike all other animals: mules, horses and oxen, sheep need to build special buildings whose workers will look after them and collect resources from them. In addition, they are the only animals capable of producing any useful materials and reproducing, creating offspring.

All methods of sheep breeding
There are 2 ways to get sheep in Manor Lords:
- Purchase through a livestock trading point.
- Take out to pasture.
The second method, however, will still require purchasing at least a minimum number of livestock, so that the purchased units can then be mated.
How to buy sheep in Manor Lords and breed them
At the initial stages there is only one way where to get sheep - buy them. In the future, having erected the necessary buildings and upgraded the necessary skills, you will be able to breed animals, increasing their number.
Build a livestock trading post
The main building through which the purchase and sale of any animals, including sheep, is carried out - livestock trading post. The building is in the “Trade” category and will cost 2 units of wood. It is recommended to build it closer to future paddocks if you plan to breed and sell sheep.
After building a livestock trading post, send one or two families to work in this building. The number of working people should directly depend on how many animals you plan to purchase. One person can bring one animal to the city.
Now it is necessary place an order for sheep, the system for acquiring livestock is the same as with purchase of any other goods. The only exception is that there is no need to build a trade route. Go to the “Trade” section, click on “Do not trade” to the left of the sheep, then change to "Import". Next, use the plus sign to indicate the number of sheep you want to purchase. Now all that remains is to wait for the workers to deliver the cattle.
Build a sheep farmer's house and a sheep pasture
The first building that is needed for grazing sheep is sheep farmer's house. This building acts as a livestock analogue of a granary; it can be built anywhere, but it is recommended to build it near future pastures. The building will cost 1 unit of wood.
Next you need to mark the pasture. Click on the card located to the left of the sheep breeders' house, and then set four points that serve as the boundary of the grazing area. Once you have placed the markers, press down on the wooden hammer. The “Pasture: [date]” displays the capacity of the field.
Pasture can be placed on top of a fallow field. To do this you need to open a skill "Fertilizer". Sheep grazing the fields will quickly restore their fertility, which will allow them to be replanted with the same crop that was previously harvested.
Sheep will by default be sent to pasture, but if there is not enough space, they can scatter, which will create a number of inconveniences.
Unlock Sheep Farming
To start raising sheep in Manor Lords, you need to unlock the skill "Sheep breeding" at the top of the tree. The ability allows sheep placed on pasture to reproduce little by little. By clicking on a pasture, you can find out if lambs have appeared.
It is worth noting that at the moment lambs don't grow into sheep. This means that their only purpose is export. Cubs do not create fur, or generate it in very small quantities.
How to use sheep
The only reason sheep are needed is wool production. This material can be obtained exclusively from sheep breeders' houses and pastures, if you do not take into account the acquisition of the resource using a trading post. These creatures have no other purposes; it is impossible to slaughter a sheep for meat, but you can open a sheep breeding and sell the lambs, receiving small revenues to the regional budget. However, sooner or later the market will become oversaturated with this type of livestock, causing the price to begin to fall. Wool has several uses.
Build workshops
To take full advantage of the wool, click on one of the farms of the second or third level and convert it into a tailor's workshop. Residents of this house will become artisans and will be able to produce several goods from the category "Cloth":

Of all the goods, wool is used only in the creation of raincoats, but even there it is used in an already processed form.
To produce wool goods, it is necessary to build two buildings:
- weaving workshop - wood ×4, workers make linen fabric from flax and yarn from wool.
- Dyer's workshop - wood ×2, peasants create paints by consuming berries, which are produced using the gathering hut.
Having built both workshops, you can select “Cloaks” in the tailoring workshop and begin to use the sheep as efficiently as possible, producing goods to satisfy the needs of the inhabitants. In addition, cloaks can always be sold at a trading post.
Is sheep farming worth it?
The first thing to say about sheep farming is that you shouldn’t do it for profit. In early access, the livestock breeding system is implemented extremely crudely. Lambs never become adult sheep, the cattle breed until their babies fill the entire pasture, and then just start running around the city. They do not create any problems and do not need to be caught; the animal simply walks around the settlement. However, one should not assume that it will be possible to boost the economy and earn a lot of money from cattle breeding.
Sheep are a useful occupation if you need to produce raincoats to satisfy the needs of the townspeople. They can be used to create yarn and then clothing. In addition, lambs, like goods made from wool, can always be sold. When the market becomes oversaturated, simply stop work on all associated buildings, or redirect families to other activities.
