One of Blizzard's most profitable projects has finally got its sequel! Soon all gamers will be able to enjoy it.
Announced at Blizzcon November 1, 2019, Overwatch 2 is the sequel to the 2016 hit of the same name. Although this is a full second part and not a simple DLC, it will work closely with its predecessor. Both games will support a "shared multiplayer environment" allowing players to compete together. It will also give gamers the opportunity to carry over all unlocked features and cosmetic improvements to the new installment.
As for the content, the game will feature at least four new heroes, as well as fresh maps and modes. All gameplay will take place on an updated version of the original Overwatch engine. With it, the developers were able to introduce larger maps into the game. Ultimately, Blizzard's main idea is to merge the two games into a single product in the future.
Despite a number of new features, it seems that long and complex development, like a full-fledged standalone game, you should not expect from this project. Aside from the engine upgrade, most of the new features could easily be sold to fans as DLC for the original game. As a result, it can be safely assumed that Overwatch 2 is coming out very soon.
This project will definitely appear on computer screens before Diablo 4. Overwatch 2 official release date will appear at the nearest BlizzConline. This means that the game is at the final stage of development, and soon you can enjoy it in all its glory. The event will also announce Overwatch 2 price, system requirements and information about where you can buy the game.
