Pets are companions in Honkai: StarRail, which can be placed in the Party Car, a personal area of the theme park, or summoned to follow the active character. Their coloring and decorations can resemble in-game characters, and some are exclusive species that inhabit other planets. These animals can be obtained by participating in temporary events, exchanged for in-game currency, or purchased for donate.
Update 4.6 introduced a game mode that allows you to collect and use companions, as well as trade them with other players and friends.
Why do we need pets?
The main use of companions is to participate in a permanent game mode. Star Smasher Team, where each creature has its own set of skills and characteristics. You can also display your collection in the party car and at the park's exhibit, where other Pathfinders can see it.

How to exchange catoenotes and chimeras
To simplify the collecting process, a special exchange platformYou can access it from the "Star Trend" menu by clicking the corresponding button in the upper left corner of the screen.
On the platform, you'll see offers from friends and can post your own. You can only exchange duplicates for creatures. of the same type and rarity, so offering a chimera for a cat will not work.

Special currency for opening surprise boxes in limited quantities is given out during events the 4.6 update:
