Message to Descendants is a side quest in Arknights: Endfield, in which you must help Liu Xie find the legendary toolbox. Infiltrate the reservoir's guard station and descend into its depths, solving puzzles along the way to regulate the water level and open passages. Press the buttons in the correct order and navigate the lily pads to the chest containing the treasure.
How to start quest
The quest can be started by speaking with the NPC in the restricted area of Boundary Stone. He appears after completing the "Kindred Spirits" quest from Operation IV "An Unbearable Burden" in Chapter 2.

Using the TP point, get to the reservoir station and begin following the quest markers deeper into the building.
Find the places marked by Liu Xie
Moving along Balcony B, reach the end and go down the stairs where you'll see a ramp. Use it to reach the room with the target.
The gate leading further will be closed. Examine several notes nearby and find the code phrase to open the passage: "The effectiveness of flood protection depends on the effort put into it." Once past the barrier, proceed along the corridors to the southern part of the complex.
Get to the water level control panel
Stand on the red panel on the left. It will light up green and start moving the xyranite blocks. Wait until they're in a position where you can jump to the other side.
Once on the other side, climb up the rope and press the button in the room inside.
This will remove the water under the xyranite and allow you to move further along the platform.
Adjust the water level and reach the platform
Next, you'll need to gradually "flood" the room by interacting with the available devices. First, use the trampoline to the left of the entrance to climb up and then use the rope at the top.
Follow the lily pads into the flooded room, then up the stairs to the control panel. You can follow Aurilen, who's hovering nearby.
Activate the pylon to raise the water level slightly and create a new path across the lily pads.
From the previous point, jump into the next room, where there is a crossing on lotus leaves to another springboard.
He'll take you up to a higher level with Aurilen, a chest, and a second mechanism. Activate it.
From the platform, jump to the adjacent ledge with a chest, and from there, go down the rope.
Walk along the eastern edge of the room to the third panel.
From there, use the water lilies to get to the doorway on the right and climb up the rope again.
Ahead you'll see a chest containing the Legendary Worker's Tools. Examine it and return to Liu Xie to deliver the note.
