Scrope's last hope Hogwarts legacy - an exclusive quest for wizards from Slytherin, which is also one of the main tasks of the game. In the process of passing it, you will meet with the house elf Scrope, visit Hagrid's hut and the secret grotto, and also find the Black family ring.

How to start Scrope's Last Hope

This is the sixteenth quest in the Hogwarts Legacy main questline. To get started, you need to match the following requirements:

• Play as a student of the Slytherin faculty (the rest of the houses will have other quests at this stage).
• The character must be level 5.
• Complete the previous task of the main quest chain - "Trials of Merlin".

The quest starts after receiving a letter from the house elf. Scrope will send a message right after completing the Trials of Merlin.

Walkthrough Scrope's Last Hope in Hogwarts Legacy

To complete the task, you first have to find three hidden notes that are located outside the school. After the last note is found, you will have to meet with Scrope himself. At the end, the elf will ask you to explore one secret location.

Where to find 1 note in the yard

Immediately after receiving a letter from Scrope, a marker will appear on the mini-map that indicates the location of the first note. The hero will have to go through the entire Hogwarts castle to get to the pendulum room that the house elf mentioned. This room is in the clock tower.

You need to go past the clock pendulum and go outside through a narrow corridor into the courtyard.

The first note is in the beak of one of the four statues that are located at the corners of the well.

The found note will have a clue where to look for the next message.

Where to find note 2 (next)

Following Scrope's hint, the second note can be found in the circle of stones behind the bridge. This bridge is located immediately after the well, near which the first note was found.

You need to go all the way to the end of the bridge and then turn left. Not far from the entrance to the bridge there will be high boulders. The second note is located on one of the stones.

Not far from the stones there will be a wooden box. On it you need to use spell Levioso.

Next, you need to use the spell Accio and place the box floating in the air as close as possible to the cobblestone with the note.

To pick up the second note, you need to climb onto the floating box and jump onto the stone ledge, and then read the message.

The found message will have a hint about the location of the next note.

Where to find 3 notes in the pumpkin patch

Following the hint, the third note must be looked for in one of the pumpkins. You can go down to the pumpkins not far from the circle of stones along a wide stone path.

During the descent, you will notice a small stone hut - known to Potter fans as Hagrid's hut. Not far from the entrance to it there will be beds with pumpkins.

To find the hidden note, you need use the Revelio spell. The pumpkin with the third message is located away from the scarecrow: behind a stone wall.

It remains to break the pumpkin with a magic wand, and then read the note. The message will indicate the meeting place with Scrope.

Meet Scrope at the water's edge

To meet the house elf, you need to go down to the pier, which is located on the beach behind the forester's hut.

You need to carefully go down the steep slope, and then follow the beach towards Hogwarts Castle. Soon a small wooden pier will appear on the hero's path.

This will be followed by a short introductory video, which will lead to a dialogue with the house elf, after which Scrope will send the hero to explore the grotto nearby.

You should go to the mark on the mini-map towards the grotto. You can make a path on the water, or you can follow along the coast.

Regardless of which path was chosen, a battle awaits the hero in front of the grotto. Enemies - five Toperok with a stone ridge. Here are some tips for fighting them:

• With a spell Throw Ancient Magic you can throw several stones at the enemy.
• lucky hit spell Levioso temporarily immobilizes the enemy (only at the time of the tongue attack).
• Not all attacks can be blocked with the Protego spell, so the battle should be fought carefully and dodge in time.
• You can try to avoid the battle if you quickly and carefully proceed past.

A little further, a narrow passage inside the grotto will be noticeable. Inside, you should go forward, where a pedestal will be visible in the light of fire, with which you need to interact.

After a short cutscene, a passage in the wall will be opened. Inside the secret room, on the table, there will be Apollonia Black's journal. After the character takes the magazine, a cutscene will begin.

After the dialogue with Richard Galkrad, you can return to Scrope. Telling the house elf about the fate of the ring completes the current quest.

Floating Candle Map Chest

To find the treasure map of floating candles, you do not need to immediately return to Scrope after the dialogue with the ghost. There is an unlocked chest in the room with a map inside.

The found card allows you to access the additional task "The ghost of our love«.

After completing the quest you will receive:

• 260 experience points.
