In Genshin impact, the puzzle of Phantom Wolves in Wavechaser Plain is connected to the story of the knight Roland and his company, who fell in the final battle with the Abyss. This small, atmospheric puzzle requires a number of non-obvious actions and allows for a deeper dive into the region's lore.
How to get 'The Lone Wolf's Memory' achievement
To get 'The Lone Wolf's Memory' achievement from the "Wonders of the World" category, solve the puzzle with Phantom Wolves at Knights' of Favonius outpost. Look for it in Wavechaser Plain, east of the Pillar of Embla.
How to solve the Phantom Wolves puzzle in Wavechaser Plain in Genshin Impact
The solution is to free three phantom animals and read the notes they point to. Follow them to the end to learn the full story of the Bloodstained Knight, after whom the set of artifacts was named.
Destroy the transparent barrier and free the wolf
The first phantom hides behind a transparent moon barrier at the source of a small river. From the teleportation point, head north, where a waterfall flows down a cliff. Above the rock where the phantom howls, there's a lunoculus. Hidden behind the barrier to the right, there's a remarkable chest, and on the left there is a beast imprisoned.
To melt the barrier, infuse it with Kuuvahki power. Find a nearby source of it, the glimmerfruit growing just north of it is just fine. Pull its core by pressing the "T" button, and then fire a glowing projectile at the barrier. It will take two shots to open one side.
Follow the instructions of the Distant Voice
Touch the glowing spot in front of the freed ghost, and it will run through the field of riftwolves. Fight the monsters to free the second beast.

Once the monsters from the Abyss fall, open the exquisite chest. Activate the glowing marker to send the ghostly entity after its kin.
Read Lost Notes 3
Following the ghosts, you'll reach some ruins where a sword is stuck in the ground. For rescuing two animals, you'll receive two chests: common and exquisite. Read "Lost Notes 3" marked with a bright dot.
Go to the lighthouse and conduct a search
Following the hint from the note, run west towards the small lighthouse on the cliff before the descent to the Pillar of Embla.
Read the note on the old bulletin board

As you approach the lighthouse, you'll notice a wooden sign marked with a bright marker. The text on it reads:
"Wolves have been seen in this area at midnight. Travelers, be warned."
Rewind to midnight and you'll see a phantom animal appear near the building's walls, pointing to a note.
Follow the wolf and read Lost Notes 4, 2 and 1
Approach the beast and read "Lost Notes 4." After triggering the text, the wolf will howl and move to the nearest intersection. Run after it and read "Lost Notes 2."
When you finish reading, the creature will disappear again and reappear slightly northeast, near a broken cart. Read the final letter the ghost points to, "Lost Notes 1."
Touch the hilt of the sword

Follow the creature into the familiar ruins and take the valuables from the exquisite chest. Touch the hilt of the old sword - the animals will run away, and a lunar path will appear nearby.
Follow the path of the kuuvahki
Press the "T" key to use the power of the kuukhenki and be pulled toward the moonlit road. Follow this route until it ends.
Once you are in free flight, pull yourself to the next track to continue moving.
The final point of the journey will be a cliff where all the rescued animals will gather. Land next to them and touch another sword.
After a short scene, the following message will appear: "The wolf's phantom drifted away, perhaps because Boreas's presence could not be felt...". It's not yet known what this line is hinting at. Its meaning may be revealed in a future patch.
Along with the message at the top of the screen, an achievement will be awarded to you, and to the left of the old blade a luxurious chest will appear. Besides the treasure, there is another lunoculus hidden here.
Rewards
Solving the puzzle will bring you a total of:
- Primogems ×27;
- Evermoon Seals ×9;
- mora;
- experience books и enhancement ore;
- weapons and artifacts.
While the story behind the phantom wolf mystery isn't yet fully revealed, it can already yield some pretty generous rewards in Genshin Impact. To track your progress with the Patch 6.3 achievements, check out this article: all the achievements of patch 6.3.

Yes, indeed, Varka helps with the completion of the quest!
what's going on?
Takes you to the place getting a skin for a sword.
At the moment "Go to the vicinity of the lighthouse and conduct a search" nothing happens for me, nothing is burning near the board
Make sure you've completed the previous steps. If you've done everything but the quest isn't updating, it's likely a bug. In that case, your only option is to wait for an update or contact technical support. 🙁
Check if you've already collected it and see if there are wolves around. Wolves appear near the sign at midnight, and yes, the wolf dots can be collected separately from each other (I first came across the sign that said "wolves appear at midnight" and did that part).
It's such a bummer to tie achievements or chests to defeating characters, whether it's Kirill or Varka, collectors are outraged.
There are no achievements tied to character drops (only Nefer sped up drop rates), and mini-quest rewards do not contain primogems.
This quest with Varka gives 40 Primogems, so no, it's mean.
Well, considering Varka is the knight Boreas, it seems only he can complete the quest. How sweet that the developers made so many quests for character byte-twisting -_-
Do I need to complete other quests before this? I read all the notes, but the wolf disappears on the mountain because he "didn't feel the north wind" when he touched the sword and simply vanished.
That's how it should be. There's nothing more that can be done here at this point.
