"Moonshine Supplier" is a side mission in the lumberjack camp in Of Ash and Steel, In which you'll need to help Akim and learn how the workers get drunk before their shift. It's best to complete it after the quest Broken Bridge, as a direct crossing from the woodcutters' dwelling to the Abandoned Village will be opened.
This guide will tell you where to find the vendor, the alcohol stash, and how to unlock the alternate ending for a bigger reward.
How to complete the Moonshine Supplier quest in Of Ash and Steel
Collect evidence at the work site and in the lumberjack settlement. After learning that the bottles of moonshine are from the same supplier, track down the small-time merchant the workers are buying from. He won't reveal the client, so you'll have to find the crate of liquor yourself and track down the buyer.
If you don't limit yourself to the standard stages of the game, you can unlock a hidden mission. With the right strategy, you can increase your profits and gather additional resources.
Explore the logging site and camp
After speaking with Akim, head to the clearing opposite the camp and check the logs lying near the far trail. When you approach the highlighted point, the goal will automatically be awarded.
Then return to the dwelling and turn left. You'll see an area with yellow lights under the hay shed. Examine it to complete the second stage.
Ask local merchants
The supplier of alcohol is Radim, previously encountered in the mission Bad districtTake the southwest path from the lumberjack camp to the crossing from the Broken Bridge mission.
From there, follow the road straight ahead until you come across a vendor next to a cart. You can choose any name in the dialogue with him, as he won't remember the customer and will ask one of the lumberjacks to come. Afterwards, return to Akim and report what happened.
Find the cache
From the workers' quarters, take the left path and turn into the thicket near the wooden fence - opposite the extinguished fire there is a chest with bottles of "Rzhonka".
We recommend not interacting with it until you've spoken to the merchant, to avoid accidentally glitching the mission. If the task isn't marked as completed after finding the box, try reverting to an earlier save and completing the steps in the correct order.
Give the moonshine to the lumberjacks
An alternative option is unlocked in the quest log after talking to one of the woodcutters before handing over the task to Akim. We recommend not skipping hidden quests to earn more. gold and experience.
Make sure you've removed the alcohol from the chest beforehand, as items may sometimes fail to transfer to your inventory due to accidentally activating combat mode. This issue can be resolved by reopening the chest and collecting the contents without using the key. "R".
Method 1: First conversation with Vimon
Offer the woodcutter a drink of moonshine - you will find out whose hiding place in the forest is and receive experience. Then go to Hugo and treat him to Rzhonka too - for this you will receive an additional experience.
You can check the skill with Vimon Insight 7, to leave the booze and complete the alternate stage. In this case, it won't be possible to please Hugo, and Akim will have to tell the truth about his subordinates' drinking.
If you didn't leave a stash, talk to Bird. Insight 8 you can get more experience и gold.
Method 2: First dialogue with Hugo
For the treat the worker will be charged extra experience. In this case, you won't be able to interact with Vimon. But you'll be able to hide the booze from the lumberjack behind Insight 6. This will limit Akim's options—you'll reveal the woodcutters' secret. The conversation with Bird will still be available if you don't give him the bottles earlier.
Rewards
Depending on the lines you choose and the endings you activate, you can get:
- Standard playthrough will yield minimum amount of experience When you surrender to Akim, you will miss out on gold from Bird and extra points from Vimon and Hugo.
- Completing the alternative stage will add a little more experience, But it won't be possible to treat just one employee. The entire company will have to be exposed to the boss.
- If you started with Vimon, treated Hugo and talked to Bird, but didn't tell Akim their secret, you will be awarded maximum experience taking into account the additional amount for each of the lumberjacks.
We recommend using the third method, without leaving Rzhonka with the woodcutters, to get more benefit from completing the mission.
