Xiao in Genshin Impact: Best Build and Team Guide

A Guide to the Yaksha Adeptus: How to Choose the Best Gear and Build Strong Teams.

Xiao

In Genshin impact, Xiao is an Anemo Spearman who builds his gameplay around his plunging attacks. During his elemental burst, the Adeptus enters a special stance that increases the height of his jumps and gives him Anemo Infusion. In addition, he constantly drains HP, which forces him to play carefully.

Content

In this guide, we will tell you how to build the plunging DD so that he deals a lot of damage and clears any content. Since he plays from his elemental burst, it is worth paying attention to energy recovery, as well as choosing allies who will strengthen plunging attacks and Anemo damage. Due to the constant loss of health and vulnerability during jumps, the hero needs good supports who will protect him.

According to the lore, he is one of the Adepti of Liyue, and also the last of the five protectors of Yaksha, and is engaged in guarding the Geo region, he currently resides at Wangshu Inn. Despite his coldness to people, he does not feel hostility towards them, but only tries to protect them from his own karma.

How to Get the Character

Banner Xiao

Xiao's Rerun took place in the second half of the 5.3 update during Chronicled wish, which lasted January 21 to February 11, 2025.

To track new characters' releases and reruns, follow our banner schedule.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Before you build Xiao, it is important to understand what his pros and cons are:

Strengths Weaknesses
Easy to control and rotate, making him a good character for beginners. The hero does not use normal and charged attacks, so he cannot play with many popular and strong sub-DDs, such as Xingqiu, Beidou, Yelan and others.
The character does not take damage after plunging, can use elemental skills in the air and has a passive that reduces stamina consumption when climbing, so he is well suited for exploring the world. During an active elemental burst, spends his HP, which is extremely inconvenient without a healer in the squad or durable shields.
Does not require specific full set of artifacts, and performs well with the mixes. His elemental burst is quite expensive, which requires not only the character to gain energy recovery, but also to put a battery character or a Favonius user in the squad.
Great for fighting groups of enemies, as the plunging attacks deal AoE damage, allowing you to hit multiple enemies at once. Plunge attacks often send smaller enemies flying, forcing you to constantly monitor their location during the ult.
With ascension, gets additional crit chance, which simplifies artifact choice. The character is not suitable for those who like dynamic gameplay with frequent switching of squad members - the hero requires the whole team to play only for him.
His Elemental Burst disappears after switching to an ally, while it's active, elemental skills do not restore energy.

The Best Xiao Builds in Genshin Impact

The adeptus should be in an elemental burst stance for most of the fight. After receiving buffs from allies, he will perform a high jump to perform a plunging strike that deals Anemo damage while infused. All of the character's abilities are affected by ATK, as well as Crit. damage and crit. chance.

The ultimate deals most of the DPS, but it is quite expensive (70), which is why energy rechargeis extremely important. It should be found at least in several lower stats of artifacts. However, the clock should be taken on ATK. The goblet is acceptable for both Anemo damage and ATK depending on the presence or absence of buffers for this stat, Pyro resonance and external battle amplifiers.

Recommended Stats

The table below shows the recommended stats to look for in artifacts to create an optimal build for Xiao:

Recommended values:

  • ATK: 1700 and more.
  • Energy recharge: approximately 135-150% at C0 and with a battery. If C1 is activated, the threshold is reduced to 125-135%.
  • CRIT Rate/DMG: should be in a ratio of 1:2 (for example, 60/120). However, if it is possible to provide the damage dealer with very powerful stats, then it is better to focus not on crit. damage, but to increase the crit. chance up to 85-90% (provided that the crit. damage is already at least 170%)

Elemental Mastery , despite his Anemo elemental nature, is not worth gaining. Unlike most other heroes of this element, he does not play from the Swirl reaction, and therefore does not need a damage bonus from elemental interactions.

Which goblet to choose: Anemo or Attack Power%

The adeptus has one of the highest base ATK values, and thanks to the passive effect of the talent Conqueror of Evil: Tamer of Demons, he can independently buff his damage, which in the damage formula is similar to the increase from the Elemental goblet. Therefore, for this hero, both options are in demand and are almost equal to each other. When choosing between an artifact for ATK or Anemo damage, proceed with the following criteria:

  • Quality of the goblet's secondary stats (critical chance and critical damage).
  • The presence or absence of buffers on ATK (Bennett, a catalyst with the Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers, passive skills of characters). If together with all the enhancements the value is 2700+, then choose an Anemo damage goblet. If it's less, choose ATK%.
  • If the team has Furina, especially on constellations, it is better to choose an ATK goblet, since her buff works on the same principle.

Weapon options

The weapon that will maximize his potential should have crit. damage, crit. chance, or attack power in the main stat. The table below shows suitable spears that can be given to the character:

NameDescriptionRecommendation
Prospector's Drill

Base stat:
44-565
ATK:
6%-27.6%
When the character receives healing, they receives up to 30 Unity's Symbols for 3 sec. After activating the E or ult, all Marks are consumed for 10 seconds. the effect ofStruggle is given: for each Symbol spent, the attack power increases by 3%-7%, and the damage bonus with all elements increases by 7%-13%. The Struggle effect is given once every 15 sec.A spear with attack power and an elemental damage bonus. To get the buffs, the party must have a healer who can give the damage dealer Unity's Symbols.
Primordial Jade Winged-Spear

Base stat:
48-674
CRIT Rate:
4.8%-22.1%
When hitting an enemy once every 0.3 sec. increases attack power by 3.2%-6.0% for 6 sec. This effect stacks up to 7 times and at the last level increases damage by 12%-24%.Signature weapon that gives him a lot of ATK for hitting the enemy. In addition, it increases the crit. chance, which in combination with the increase from leveling up the character allows you to search for more crit. damage in artifacts.
Staff of Homa

Base stat:
46-608
CRIT DMG:
14.4%-66.2%
Increases HP by 20%-40%. Also increases attack by 0.8%-1.6% from max. HP of a character with this spear. When the wearer's HP drops below half, their attack power increases by an additional 1%-1.8% of their max HP.The second best weapon after the signature weapon, which also gives a lot of critical damage. It is fully revealed when it lowers its health below 50%, but even without this condition it increases ATK depending on health.
Calamity Queller

Base stat:
49-741
ATK:
3.6%-16.5%
Grants 12%-24% elemental damage bonus (in this case Anemo). After activating E, applies the Enhancement effect for 20 sec., increasing ATK by 3.2%-6.4% per second. This effect stacks up to 6 times. If the hero is not on the battlefield, the buff from the effect is doubled. An excellent spear that gives a lot of attack power to the character. DD often uses an elemental skill, which allows him to constantly activate Enhancement. With this spear, it is advisable to always use an Anemo goblet.
Vortex Vanquisher

Base stat:
46-608
ATK:
10.8-9.6%
Increases shield durability by 20%-40%. When hit once every 0.3 sec. increases attack power by 4%-8% for 8 sec. The effect can stack up to 5 times. If the character has a shield, the bonus from the effect increases by 100%.Provides additional ATK. Like the previous variant, requires a more careful balance of crits. To use this spear, a shielder must be present in the squad.
Deathmatch

Base stat:
41-454
CRIT Rate:
8%-36.8%
If there are two or more opponents on the battlefield, attack power and defense increase by 16%-32%; if there are less than two enemies nearby, attack power increases by 24%-48%.Spear from the Battle Pass. The best 4 ⭐ option. Increases attack power, as well as the ability to focus on gaining critical damage in artifacts.
Lithic Spear

Base stat:
44-565
ATK:
6%-27.6%
Increases ATK by 7%-11%, and critical chance - by 3%-7% for each character in the squad from Li Yue. The effect can stack up to 4 times.A good spear that gives a lot of useful stats, but has a strict limitation in party members. The maximum buff can only be obtained if there are three more characters from Liyue, besides the owner, in the party.
Blackcliff Pole

Base stat:
42-510
CRIT DMG:
12%-55,1%
After defeating an enemy, attack power increases by 12%-24% for 30 sec. This effect stacks up to 3 times. The best 4 ⭐ weapons from the free options for those who don't buy the Battle Pass. It is less stable because it depends on defeating the enemy and, for example, will not give a bonus to attack power in a fight against a boss.
Tamayuratei no Ohanashi
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Base stat:
44-565
Energy recharge:
6,6-30,6%
When activating an elemental skill, increases ATK by 10 sec. 20-40% and movement speed by 10%.Since the hero is a main DD and most often acts as an active character in the squad, it is advantageous to explore locations with this spear on him. The energy recovery in the secondary characteristic is exactly as much as needed in general, so it is not worth gaining this stat in artifacts.

Powerful artifacts

Artifacts on Xiao should give an Anemo damage buff or increase ATK. There are many suitable 2+2 mixes in the game, and full sets often have a peculiar activation condition, so mixes for the hero in most cases work on par with 4-piece sets.

NameDescriptionRecommendation
Vermillion Hereafter

2 Piece:
Increases attack power by 18%.
4 Piece:
After activating the ult for 16 sec. gives the effect of Nascent Light , increasing attack power by 8%. The character's attack power increases by an additional 10% when he loses HP. This effect occurs up to 4 times and no more than once every 0,8 sec. The effect disappears after leaving the battlefield or switching characters.
The best artifact set. Gives him a lot of ATK. Has the ability to fully activate the bonus from four pieces of the set and keep it active throughout the ult.
Desert Pavilion Chronicle

2 Piece:
Increases Anemo damage bonus by 15%.
4 Piece:
Hit with a charged attack for 15 sec. Increases the speed of a normal attack by 10%, and the damage of a normal attack, charged attack, and plunging attack by 40%.
Anemo damage set, as well as an increase in the damage of plunging attacks after hitting a charged attack. There is more pure damage with this set than with the previous one, but to activate the buff, you need to change the rotation and at the beginning of elemental burst, be sure to use one charged attack.
Viridescent Venerer / Desert Pavilion Chronicle
Gladiator’s Finale / Shimenawa's Reminiscence / Vermillion Hereafter / Echoes of an Offering
2 Piece:
Increases Anemo damage bonus by 15%.
2 Piece:
Increases attack power by 18%.
A set of two parts of Anemo damage and attack power sets. It is a universal option, since it is easier to get, and it does not require additional conditions.
Desert Pavilion Chronicle
Viridescent Venerer
2 Piece:
Increases Anemo damage bonus by 15%.
2 Piece:
Increases Anemo damage bonus by 15%.
A 2+2 mix of Anemo damage sets. The damage dealer deals mostly Anemo damage, so these artifacts are a good fit.
Gladiator’s Finale / Shimenawa's Reminiscence / Vermillion Hereafter / Echoes of an Offering
2 Piece:
Increases attack power by 18%.
2 Piece:
Increases attack power by 18%.
2+2 mix from attack power sets. Suitable if you have good parts from the sets, but you can’t get the options listed above.
Viridescent Venerer

2 Piece:
Increases Anemo damage bonus by 15%.
4 Piece:
Increases Swirl damage by 60%. When Swirl interacts with another element, also reduces the enemy's resistance to the corresponding element by 40% for 10 seconds.
An acceptable option for teams with Pyro, Cryo, Hydro or Electro elements, where the adeptus acts as a driver and is the only Anemo character in the team. For the role of a hyper carry this set is not recommended.

We will separately comment on the following sets:

  • Emblem of Severed Fate doesn't work because his ultimate applies buffs to his plunging attacks, rather than a separate damaging button that can be buffed.
  • Effect of a full Shimenawa's Reminiscence is usable, but it is extremely inconvenient, since it takes away energy, which is critically important for the hero. With it, it is much more difficult to ult on cooldown and, accordingly, consistently inflict high DPS, so it is better to choose another set or 2+2 options.

Teams

Xiao is a main damage dealer, who spends most of his time on the battlefield. The entire squad is built around him, since his allies should always play for him, providing buffs, shields, or additional damage from the pocket. Revolver heroes and those who require too much attention for themselves (complex rotation, expensive ultimate, etc.) are not suitable for the adeptus teams.

Recommended characters

Let's take a closer look at all the heroes that are well suited for forming a squad with an Anemo damager.

Secondary damage dealer

Secondary damage dealers:

CharacterElementWeaponEffects
Albedo
Geo
One-handed sword
An excellent pocket sub-dd that deals Geo damage in conjunction with the attacks of the main damage dealer. If you have C4, it will give a buff to plunging hits.
Chiori
Geo
One-handed sword
An alternative option for Geo sub-dd in teams with Zhongli and Geo resonance. In terms of damage, Albedo is more profitable if he is not C4.
Fischl
Electro
Bow
A versatile damage dealer with Electro damage from her raven summon. The Swirl reaction she triggers when hitting enemies with Electro activates her passive talent for an extra hit.
Raiden
Electro
Polearm
She can replace the main DD on the field until the energy for his elemental burst has accumulated. However, her ultimate boost does not work on the main damage dealer, so she should not be considered as a buffer.
Yae Miko
Electro
Catalyst:
Doesn't require much time on the field, places totems and immediately goes into the pocket. It's worth considering that in a team with Anemo DD, almost all of her damage comes from the elemental skill, and she won't be able to activate her ult often.
Xiangling
Pyro
Polearm
Deals enormous damage with her ultimate, even when not on the battlefield. Also summons Guoba with her elemental skill that attacks enemies from the pocket and leaves behind a pepper that increases attack power.
Mona
Hydro
Catalyst:
The elemental skill attracts enemies and also applies Hydro status to them. Using Omen, increases damage to enemies for a short time.
Furina
Hydro
One-handed sword
Hydro sub-dd, which not only deals additional damage from the pocket, but can also additionally heal depending on the selected pneumusia mode. Furina's elemental burst additionally buffs damage.
Rosaria
Cryo
Polearm
Pocket Cryo damage dealer with periodic damage at the point of elemental burst activation. Also increases the squad's crit. chance.
Ganyu
Cryo
Bow
Another Cryo damage dealer, in this case played through the activation of an elemental burst that attacks within a large area. Her skill attracts opponents to herself.

Supports

Characters that provide buffs and also provide support for the entire squad:

CharacterElementWeaponEffects
Xianyun
Anemo
Catalyst:
Heals, strengthens plunging attacks, helps with energy gain and trigger Resonance. Is most powerful when equipped with the signature weapon, but successfully performs her functions with another catalyst.
Faruzan
Anemo
Bow
One of the best supports for air damage dealers, as it increases Anemo damage and reduces enemy resistance to this element.
Venti
Anemo
Bow
Thanks to the passive skill, will help restore energy for the ult. However, it is important to consider that if Venti is leveled to 70+, then the main DD will not be able to jump while plunging to hit enemies in the Anemo Archon ult. Therefore, it is best to use them together against those enemies that do not rise into the air.
Jean
Anemo
One-handed sword
An Anemo healer who can also act as a battery character. At C4, he also reduces enemy resistance to Anemo.
Kazuha
Anemo
One-handed sword
An ambiguous ally, which should only be chosen when playing with strong sub-DDs of the Pyro, Hydro, Electro or Cryo elements. As a battery, Kazuha shows himself poorly, since the energy balls he creates are absorbed by himself, almost instantly. If there is no need to strengthen the sub-DD, it is better to choose another support.
Sucrose
Anemo
Catalyst:
A budget version of a character with a pull ability, if you have no Kazuha. The buff from elemental mastery in this case is not needed by DD, but in some cases it will be useful for his allies. Works especially well with constellations and Sacrificial Fragments, since she will be able to activate his E and restore energy to Xiao several times in a row.
Sayu
Anemo
Claymore
An epic alternative in the absence of previous options. It is very important to gain as much energy recovery as possible and equip the Favonius sword, since her ultimate is also expensive.
Zhongli
Geo
Polearm
An excellent Geo-shielder, capable of reducing enemy resistance. Thanks to his ult, he can immobilize enemies for a short time, which is beneficial when fighting small groups.
Bennett
Pyro
One-handed sword
A universal support that provides healing and an attack buff for a character located inside his field.
Kuki
Electro
One-handed sword
A healer who spends her HP and deals additional damage at close range.
Kokomi
Hydro
Catalyst:
Hydro healer that gives a lot of elemental status. Can wield the Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers and buff the attack of allies.
Dori
Electro
Claymore
An electro support character who, within the limits of his ultimate, heals the active character and restores his energy.
Diona
Cryo
Bow
A versatile support character that provides shields and healing.
Layla
Cryo
One-handed sword
DealsCryo damage with her ultimate, and also puts shields on the squad.
Charlotte
Cryo
Catalyst:
A cryo healer who also attacks several enemies at once, marking them with a skill.

Samples of powerful teams

Sample teams for Xiao using the characters presented above:

Character 1Character 2Character 3Character 4Features
Xiao
Xianyun
Faruzan
Furina
Mona
Zhongli
Zhongli
Bennett
Bennett
One of the strongest squads, where the role of the first buffer is occupied by Xianyun, increasing the damage of attacks while plunging. The second support can be any character that gives buffs to allies, but with C6 Faruzan is more profitable than others. For the fourth slot, depending on the need for a shielder, you can take Zhongli or Bennett.
Xiao
Faruzan
Xianyun
Venti
Albedo
Chiori
Zhongli
A team with Anemo and Geo resonances. Tiori or Albedo deal damage from the pocket, acting as an independent area damage dealer, and with C4, Albedo is more profitable, because he can buff Xiao's attacks. Thanks to Geo resonance, the damage of both the main DD increases due to the increased damage under the shield, and Albedo due to reduced Geo resistance. If Faruzan or Xianyun are not available, they can be replaced with another Anemo support.
Xiao
Faruzan
Bennett
Zhongli
A squad with several buffs. Faruzan gives resonance and increases Anemo damage. Bennett increases attack power and heals the team. Zhongli protects and reduces enemy resistance, and can also use his ult to temporarily immobilize enemies, which is useful in battles with small enemies.
Xiao
Faruzan
Bennett
Mona
Furina
Another squad option that distributes buffs to Xiao. Faruzan increases Anemo's damage, Bennett increases attack power, and Mona/Furina add elemental burst boosts. It is highly advisable for Faruzan to wear the Favonius bow in this team, despite the fact that its buff is tied to the basic attack, since all squad members have expensive ultimates.
Xiao
Faruzan
Jean
Xianyun
Zhongli
Zhongli
Layla
A protected group of three Anemo characters that help roll back the main DD elemental burst as much as possible. Xianyun and Jean heal. Any shielder can be put on the last slot. If you use Zhongli, then Jean and Faruzan can be built into crits to get additional damage.
Xiao
Jean
Xianyun
Mona
Furina
Anemo-Hydro team with strong mutual buffs. Mona and Furina increase each other's HP and buff each other, and also make it easier to gain energy for the ultimate. Jean or Xianyun reduces enemy resistance with the Viridescent Venerer set, heals, providing a quick build-up of fanfares for Furina, and serves as a battery for Xiao.
Xiao
Xiangling
Bennett
Kazuha
Sucrose
A roasting squad in which the adeptus acts as a driver. Bennett heals and buffs the attack of the entire team, Xiangling deals damage from the pocket and triggers Pyro Resonance. A good option for beginners who have a small choice of characters and do not have the opportunity to put specialized supports to the Anemo damager.
Xiao
Jean
Sayu
Ganyu
Rosaria
Shenhe
Kaeya
Team with Cryo sub-dd and resonance. A good choice if you couldn’t get enough crit through artifacts. chance for consistent damage. The Viridescent Venerer in such a squad better belongs to Jean or Sayu so that they reduce the Cryo resistance of enemies.
Xiao
Fischl
Raiden
Kokomi
Kazuha
Venti
Squad through reaction Charged and Anemo resonance. The Electro character deals damage from the pocket and also restores energy if it is Raiden. Kokomi heals allies, buffs Xiao's attack power through Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers and applies Hydro status. Kazuha pulls opponents and absorbs elements, but can also be replaced with Venti or Sucrose.
Xiao
Furina
Mona
Kuki
Dori
Fischl
Yae Miko
Another squad option via Charged with Electro Resonance and easier energy gain. Furina/Mona buff damage and give Hydro status to enemies. The electro healer wields the Favonius weapon, and the sub-dealer deals passive damage.
Xiao
Furina
Mona
Xiangling
Bennett
Bennett
A variation of the national, in which the driver is the Anemo Lancer. With Furina, the squad shows itself better, since the Hydro Archon has more elemental status, which will allow you to more often perform Vaporize in combination with Xiangling's ult. However, if Furina is not available, she can be replaced with Mona. Since this squad does not have a battery, and the damage of the air DD himself is secondary, he can equip the Favonius Lance.
Xiao
Lynette
Lisa
Kaeya
Barbara
Noelle
Free squad. Lynette increases attack power and helps DD with energy, Lisa/Kaeya deal additional damage. With Lisa, damage is greater due to her ult, which reduces the enemy's defense, but Kaeya's elemental burst is cheaper, so it is more comfortable to play with him. Survivability will be ensured by Barbara or Noelle.

Extra Stats For Leveling

The main characteristic that increases with levels is CRIT Rate. In addition to it, the character gets HP, ATK and defense. More accurate values can be found in the table.

Level Base HP Basic attack Base DEF Critical Chance%
1 991 27 62 0%
20 2572 71 161 0%
40 5120 140 321 0%
50 6586 181 413 4.8%
60 8262 227 519 9.6%

80 11236 308 705 14.4%
90 12736 349 799 19.2%

So, after leveling up to level 90, he has 24.2% crit. chance , excluding artifacts and weapons.

Leveling

Next, let's look at what is needed to upgrade the adeptus from Liyue to the maximum level, as well as to improve his talents.

Ascension

To ascend to level 90, the following materials are required:

Talents

Source: https://genshin.honeyhunterworld.com

To upgrade talents, you will need the following materials:

  • Teachings, guides and philosophies of Prosperity - books of talents that drop in the dungeon Taishan Mansion в Monday, Thursday and Sunday.
  • Slime Condensate, Slime Secretions, Slime Concentrate - dropped by slimes.
  • Shadow of the Warrior - Weekly Boss Material, dropped by Childe.
  • Crown of Insight - a rare resource for upgrading talents to level 10.
  • 1 654 000 Mora.

Skills

Xiao and tofu

Xiao is a main damage dealer who deals damage to enemies by performing Plunging attacks after activating his elemental burst. This character's ult converts his damage to Anemo, increases damage and allows him to jump higher, but it also costs him health. His Elemental Skill gives him the ability to dash towards the enemy, dealing damage, gaining passive stacks and restoring energy.

Basic (Active) Skills

In the following part, we will examine all the adeptus' skills in more detail, and also tell you in what order they need to be leveled. We will also pay attention to what stats are needed for the skills to work, and what their cooldown and duration are.

Whirlwind Thrust

Normal attack: makes up to five strikes with a spear.

Charged Attack: Performs an air strike and consumes stamina.

Plunging Attack: falls to the ground, hitting all enemies on the way. After landing, performs an AoE strike. In addition, the character does not receive damage after plunging from any height.

Lemniscatic Wind Cycling

Cooldown: 10 seconds

Dashes in the specified direction and deals Anemo damage. The attack can be performed even in the air, and also has two charges on C0.

Bane of All Evil

Duration: 15 seconds

Cooldown: 18 seconds

Enegry consumption: 70.

The Adeptus equips the Yaksha Mask, which enhances his jumps, as well as increases their DPS and the impact area when plunging. All damage is converted to Anemo and cannot be negated by another infusion. While the character is wearing the Yaksha Mask, he periodically loses HP. All effects disappear after a period of time or after the character leaves the battlefield.

Passive Skills

Passive Abilities of the Adeptus from Liyue

Transcension: Gravity Defier

The stamina consumption of climbing for all party members is reduced by 20%. Does not stack with passives that give the same effect.

Conqueror of Evil: Tamer of Demons

Elemental burst damage increases by 5%. DMG increases by a further 3% for every 5s the Yaksha Mask is active.

Dissolution Eon: Heaven Fall

Within 7 seconds of using an elemental skill, it can be used once again with a 15% bonus. This value is cumulative with subsequent attacks up to 3 times. The duration of the effect is reset with every attack.

Talent Leveling Order

Normal Attacks = Elemental Burst (Q) > Elemental Skill (E).

The main damage is done with the help of plunging strikes under Anemo infusion from the ult, which also increases the power of the jump and strengthens the strikes themselves. For this reason, these two skills should be leveled first, gradually increasing their level to the maximum. The elemental skill should be leveled after basic attacks and elemental burst.

  1. Normal attacks - despite the fact that the character performs strikes while his ult is active, it only strengthens plunging strikes and gives them an infusion, but the main multipliers are taken from basic attacks, which must be leveled to maximum.
  2. Elemental burst - an equivalent ability, without which plunging attacks will not work, and will not receive their enhancement. It is necessary to level it side-by-side with basic attacks.
  3. Elemental Skill — is used on cooldown, but the damage is just a nice addition, since it is primarily used to restore energy to use elemental burst faster. It should be leveled last, but it is also advisable to level it to least 9, since the ability does good DPS.

Constellations

All the constellations of the adeptus can be found in the table:

Name Effects
Dissolution Eon: Destroyer of Worlds Increases the number of charges for the Lemniscatic Wind Cycling skill (elemental skill) by 1.
Annihilation Eon: Blossom of Kaleidos While the Adeptus in a party but not the active character, his energy regenerates 25% faster.
Conqueror of Evil: Wrath Deity Increases the skill level of Lemniscatic Wind Cycling by 3. Max. level: 15.
Transcension: Extinction of Suffering When the adeptus's HP drops below 50%, his defense increases by 100%.
Evolution Eon: Origin of Ignorance Increases the level of the Bane of All Evil skill by 3. Max. level: 15.
Conqueror of Evil: Guardian Yaksha While under the effects of Bane of All Evil, hitting at least 1 opponents with Xiao's Plunging Attack will immediately grant him XNUMX charge of Lemniscatic Wind Cycling, and for the next XNUMXs, he may use Lemniscatic Wind Cycling while ignoring its CD.

Best Constellations of Xiao are С1 and С6.

  • The first constellation Grants an additional charge for an elemental skill, increasing their total to three uses. This not only increases the character's overall DPS, but also allows the elemental burst to build up faster and reduces the required amount of energy recovery that needs to be gained for the character.
  • The sixth constellation - if there are two or more opponents on the battlefield, allows you to spam an elemental skill for a short time. The Const significantly increases the hero's damage against groups of enemies, for example, in the Abyss, however, is limited by the number of enemies, making it useless on bosses.

How to play Xiao

Xiao and Venti

The Anemo Damage dealer deals most of his DPS with Plunging Attacks after activating his Ultimate. He is on the battlefield most of the time, and also loses the Ultimate if you switch to another hero. For this reason, all buffs from allies must be distributed in advance, and then you should switch to Xiao. Also, consider the duration of buffs from allies' skills and return to them as soon as the buffs end. Be sure to take a healer or shielder to your squad, since any blow from an enemy for a damage dealer who is constantly on low HP can be lethal.

Don't forget to use his elemental skill to deal damage and restore energy. Keep in mind that during the elemental burst, DD's Es do not restore energy.

The hero mainly deals damage during the ult with his plunging attacks. In addition to them, you can also deal damage with low blows, which are a separate mechanic called Collision.

Rotation

Skill Order:

E (elemental skill) 2 times (3 on C1) > Q (elemental burst) > plunging strikes from a high point until the ultimate expires > E (elemental skill).

When playing the adeptus, follow this order of actions:

  1. Restore energy. To do this, use his skill, as well as the abilities of allies.
  2. Switch to supports and activate all their buffs.
  3. Switch to the main DD, use all E charges in a row to stack the buff, and activate his Elemental Burst. Start jumping and hitting enemies, while trying to stay as close to them as possible. Watch their position carefully if they fly apart.
  4. Switch to your allies as soon as their skills run out. Accumulate your ultimates and repeat the cycle.

Collision Mechanics

Corrosion Xiao

In addition to the DPS that the hero deals from jumping, he can also hit the enemy with a low/high strike. Using this technique will significantly increase the overall damage. The strike will be counted as an additional one and will usually amount to 20-30% of the damage of a high jump. To do this, you need to be as close to the enemy as possible in battle, and when performing a plunging strike, hit the enemy when airborne, and not just land nearby. This is most easily implemented with bosses than with small opponents.

Is the Character Worth Pulling?

Xiao against the moon

Xiao is a good 5-star character in Genshin Impact, with unique gameplay and decent elemental area-of-effect damage with his ultimate. However, the constant jumping can quickly become tiresome, and the long duration of his ultimate prevents the use of revolver squads. Nevertheless, if you get used to playing through these attacks, Adept will help you get through any content.

Despite his accessibility for newcomers, he remains a very demanding character. To fully compete with damage dealers who play through reactions, he will need significant investments in legendary weapons, special supports and artifacts. Despite the fact that the Adeptus appeared in-game a long time ago, he is still a unique hero in mechanics, capable of giving an interesting gaming experience and the opportunity to play in unusual squads.

Which is better: Signature or C1?

To make a choice, you need to pay attention to some features:

  • The first constellation allows you to use an elemental skill twice. A double skill will increase the character's overall DPS and give twice as many energy particles, which will allow you to quickly gain the ult, which is the main source of damage, and reduce the energy requirement in artifacts.
  • The signature spear, Primordial Jade Winged-Spear, provides a lot of useful stats, including crit chance and ATK, which makes it much easier to pick stats in artifacts. However, the Primordial Jade Winged-Spear is a drop from the standard banner, so you can get it almost any time from standard or while losing on an event weapon. In addition, it has enough limited and free alternatives that can be given to the character until the signature drops.

Hello! I really want to revive Xiao, so I'm wondering what would be better: a kite, a Homa, or Ineffa's signal?

Answer  Arsapi

Isn't Ineffa's Signa two-handed? Okay, even if it's a spear, a Kite or Homa would be better. I used a Homa on my Xiao because if I use a Kite, it'll be 100 Ksh for 107 Ksh. The choice depends on the situation, so if you're also low on Ksh, then Homa. If your Ksh is fine but you're short on Ksh, then Kite.

Instead of Anemo, use Mona. Cooldown can be lower; about 120 is enough for him. He needs more power, about 2k. Ksh is about 80.
