The Japanese does not have a good camouflage ratio, but when shooting from medium and long distances, camouflage skills will significantly improve the comfort of the game. Undoubtedly, it is important to upgrade the combat fraternity for the entire crew, as all the characteristics of the tank will improve by 5%. However, you can sacrifice the combat fraternity on the 2nd perk, and upgrade the commander, who replaces the radio operator, the “radio interception” skill.
Equipment STA-2
The equipment needs to make up for the shortcomings of the Japanese and increase its advantages to the maximum:
- Medium caliber rammer. This equipment will improve reloading by 10%, which is quite acceptable for positional firefights.

How to play STA-2
STA-2 is great for experienced players, because with a small margin of safety and lack of armor, you will have to play against levels 9 and 10. Armor penetration is 212 mm, which is a comfortable indicator for a medium tank of the 8th level. One-time damage is standard for this class of vehicle - 240 HP. The gameplay will consist mainly of fire support. The Japanese can be called a "sniper", as he can shoot accurately at long distances. The CT does not have a small silhouette, but the standard camouflage factor of 13.68 can be improved with the help of crew skills and camouflage. In some cases, this will save even on the 2nd line. It is worth noting comfortable aiming angles of -10 degrees. With fast convergence, this will allow you to quickly respond to terrain. But at short distances it is better not to play from the turret, since the STA-2 has an impressive commander's hatch on the roof of the turret, which, accordingly, will be penetrated by all guns.
The dynamics of a medium tank is not the best, but with a maximum speed of 55 km/h, you can confidently change positions on the map, and with a specific engine power of 16 hp/t, you can quickly drive up the hill and effectively deal damage using the vertical angles of the gun.
One-time damage 240 pts. average for 8 levels, but when playing against 10-k this is too little to conduct positional firefights. You need to cherish every projectile in order to earn a lot of silver at the end of the battle. Reloading is also not a record, so it is most comfortable to play only at medium and long distances.
However, you can take the risk and try to carry out reconnaissance in the middle of the map. In the implementation of such actions, you will need to constantly look at the minimap. The same angles of vertical declination of the gun will help to shine, while it will be possible to fire.
You need to know that you can make money on this tank only with proper experience in playing on "cardboard" vehicles. It is definitely not recommended to buy this technique for beginners, because without practice, opinions about this Japanese will be negative.
There are many premium medium tanks at tier 8, and they all have different performance characteristics. STA-2 is one of those tanks where the gameplay will be extremely difficult. But if you master this technique, then playing it will be very interesting and comfortable.

It's not common to see a Japanese Premium Tank in Random Battles these days. And even after the improvements, the players did not massively take it. Perhaps this is stereotypical thinking that without armor, the tank will not be effective against high levels. However, it has the right to exist, since it is in no way inferior to single-level machines. The main thing is to use all the advantages of the tank, namely, an accurate gun, dynamics and visibility. STA-2 cannot be played spontaneously. Before each battle, you need to think carefully about where it will be best to provide fire support. Being in the top, you can use your safety margin and good armor penetration as a privilege. Pumped disguise will allow you to act as a sniper on the battlefield, while doing it safely on relief terrain. The review will not leave the tank "blind" and it will be able to independently conduct aggressive reconnaissance.
Definitely, STA-2 is not worth buying for beginners and those tankers who do not like "cardboard" vehicles, but if a player is prone to accurate guns and good dynamics, then the Japanese will be comfortable for him.
