'Witch Statue' is a series of puzzles in Genshin impact, in which it is necessary to remove extra blocks to make figures of a squirrel, a finch and a mandragora in Nod-Krai. The first puzzle is an introductory one, while the second and third have limits on the number of cube removal attempts, making them significantly more difficult.
In this guide, we'll explain the process of creating Nicole's sculptures and share a step-by-step walkthrough of each challenge.
How to start the process
The puzzles relate to the reputation of the Witch's Garden, located on the northern island of Nod-Krai. Begin the "Witch's Lodge" quest and help Angel Nicole make a stone squirrel (to find out how to get rid of the barrier in front of the cave, read our quest guide, if you haven't started it yet).
For the finch, after completing the quest, wait a day until the server updates. When interacting with the squirrel near the house in the cave, you will see the "Start sculpting" option. For the first time, you see a flashing white triangle above the creature, then the symbol will disappear.
The third challenge also unlocks on the next real day.
How to complete the 'Witch Statue' in Genshin Impact
There are animal figures inside the stones, so the extra blocks need to be removed to create the basic shape, which may differ from the creature's silhouette. The principle is similar to Japanese crosswords (nonograms).
The numbers on the cubes indicate how many blocks should be left in each column. If a 0 is drawn on a face, there should be nothing BEHIND IT (neither horizontally or vertically, but inward). If 1, 2, 3, 4 are indicated, that's how many cubes should be behind that face.
Use the "Clear" skill (LMB) to aim and remove blocks. "Fix the shape" (E) marks them and prevents accidental deletion, but you can do without it.
The Squirrel
There are 19 blocks to break. Errors are allowed.
The first puzzle is an introduction - all you have to do is remove the "zeros" on two sides.
Hold down the left mouse button (or the corresponding skill on mobile devices), aim at the cube, and release the left mouse button to delete it. To rotate the figure, interact with the squirrel using the "Rotate Statue" option.
The Finch
Blocks to break: 19. Maximum errors: 3.
The next real-world day, return to the house and interact with the two stone squirrels sitting on the boxes near the lantern to begin the second challenge. The video shows how to complete it, and below you'll find a description of the main steps:
The difficulty of this puzzle lies in the fact that you can make a maximum of three errors. If you fail, you'll have to start over. To solve, follow these steps:
- First, completely remove the four rows of "zeros." Turn the statue on its side and go around the right corner.
- Similarly, move away all cubes that have 0 on them. When the counter shows 15/19, turn the statue back.
- Remove the bottom left and top right 2s.
- Go to the opposite side and remove the second and third empty blocks in the top row (counting from left to right).
The Mandragora
Blocks to break: 47. Maximum errors: 6.
On a new server day, in the same location, start the third challenge (the last one) and craft a miniature mandragora:
There are 36 cubes with zeros in the puzzle, and 47 blocks to remove in total. Follow these steps:
- Completely clear four rows of 0s from the bottom right and left. After clearing 18 blocks, rotate the figure.
- Remove the entire layer of cubes from the front (five rows with 0s drawn on the corner blocks). Remove another "zero" cube next to the tree at the bottom right. The counter will show 36/47.
- On the side closest to the house, remove one block with 1 in the right long vertical row.
- Go back closer to the squirrel and get rid of the 2 from the left in the center row.
- Go to the back empty part of the figure and get rid of the last eight cubes (you need to remove all those that do not have 4s on the opposite side).
Rewards
The 'Witch Statue' challenges in Genshin Impact do not award any resources or items, despite their difficulty. Upon completion of each challenge, new sculptures of the creatures photographed in the introductory mission to Nicole's reputation will appear near the house in the cave.

What if the squirrel statue doesn't work? There are 15 zeros there, not 19.
