The best and worst ending to the story of The Witcher, Ciri and their closest friends. How to get the most colorful and canonical ending.
Any good story sooner or later comes to its logical conclusion. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is no exception. Huge world, many main and side quests... But the journey must be completed. But what the point will be depends only on the player. Let's talk about all the endings The Witcher 3 and 2 of his DLCs - Hearts of Stone и Blood and Wine.
All endings of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
At the time of the credits, the world around the player can be in one of 36 states, depending on the actions of Geralt. But directly the finale of the main plot does not depend on the fate of the witcher, but on what the behavior of the White Wolf will lead his pupil, the “child of destiny” - Cirilla Fiona Helen Riannon or simply - Ciri.
Accordingly, the choice of the player after the long-awaited reunion with Ciri is especially important. How her fate unfolds after entering the portal depends on the very specific decisions of Geralt. There are three main paths and, accordingly, endings.
Bad
If the player wants to "see the world on fire", then nothing supernatural is required of him. To kill Ciri, you need to fulfill the following conditions:
1. In the second act, in the task "Landscape after the battle":
- not to play snowballs with Ciri, but to offer her a drink;
- go with the girl to her father - Emhyru van Emreis, ruler of Nilfgaard, and accept his money.
2. In the third act:
- during the quest "Last Preparations" against Ciri's wishes to go with her to the Council of Enchantresses;
- do not walk with Cirilla to Skjall's grave doing a quest "Preparing for Battle".
Bottom line - doom swallows. If the girl does not return from the White Frost, the guilt-ridden witcher will go in search of the witch who stole Vesemir's medallion (quest "Bald Mountain"). There, in the depths of the Velensky swamps, he will perish in obscurity, having killed Spinner. Buttercup won't even mention him in his last story.
Good
The second ending is the choice of those who are interested in politics and power. The course of action is:
1. Second act, same quest "Landscape after the battle":
- you need to play snowballs with Ciri;
- go with her to Emhyr in Vizima, but do not accept payment from him.
In addition, you need to complete the quest chain "Eye for an eye" taking the side of Vernon Roche and Thaler. It is for this ending that the outcome of the war is especially important.
2. Third act:
- release the pupil alone to the Council during the assignment "Last Preparations";
- during the quest "Preparing for battle":
- let Ciri blow off steam and destroy Avallac'h's laboratory;
— to escort her, tormented by guilt, to Skjall's grave.
As a result, the player will receive Nilfgaard's triumph over the North and a living Ciri. That's just the girl will have to say goodbye and probably for a long time. Ciri will put down the witcher's sword and become heir to the throne.
Perfect
For players who are more concerned about the peace of mind of Geralt and Ciri, there is a third, ideal in the opinion of many, ending.
It is distinguished from a good one, by and large, by one point of passage: completing a mission "Landscape after the battle", instead of a joint visit to Emhyr, it is necessary to offer her avenge Vesemir and immediately go to Bald Mountain.
As a result, an inseparable couple of witchers will have a heart-to-heart conversation, and Emhyr will hear about the death of the heiress. After listening to Ciri's father, Geralt will go to one of the Nilfgaardian masters to pick up a gift for Ciri - a new silver sword.
The player will be able to understand what his choices led to from the recollections of Ciri, who decided to save the world from the White Frost.
Fate of the North
But not Geralt and Ciri alone. After all, there is also the North, whose fate is decided during the third part of the franchise. It will depend on whose point of view Geralt takes in the course of the task "Matters of State Importance".
Roche and Thaler
Remaining on the side of the former spy and his friend, Vernon Roche, the witcher will first sign the death warrant for Radovid, and then for Dijkstra and his supporters, with whom Geralt will fight. Will be done "The Nilfgaardian Condition" which will lead to the following consequences:
- complete victory for Nilfgaard;
- the collapse of the opposition;
- the formation of Temeria as a vassal state with a certain independence.
Dijkstra
Taking the side of Sigismund is a rather strange decision, but if the player accepts it, then you need to be prepared for the fact that:
- Vernon Roche, Bernard Dukat and Bianca will die;
- the war between Radovid and Emhyr will lead both sides to a dead end. Radovid will be killed and Nilfgaard's forces driven back;
- Dijkstra will fulfill his dream, gaining power over Redania and the entire North.
Radovid
Such an outcome is possible in the case when the player did not complete tasks "Death Conspiracy" и "Matters of State Importance". Emhyr will be eliminated by the opposition, Nilfgaard will lose the war, and the mad Radovid will make the North united. Unfortunately, this will not lead to general well-being, and a hunt will be declared for sorcerers at all. Many of the witcher's friends will be under threat.
War is war, but you can't order your heart
Well, where without a love line. So the moment has come when Geralt will have to choose between two sorceresses - Triss Merigold and Yennefer of Vengerberg.
Triss
If the player likes the "fourteenth from the hill", then everything will be decided for him during the task "Now or never". Geralt must put aside his doubts and finally confess his love to Triss in plain text.
Merigold and the witcher will go to Kovir. She will become an adviser to the king, and he ... Finally, she will receive the long-awaited peace, enjoying the company of her beloved woman and complete well-being.
Yeneifer
Not everything is solved by magic. If the witcher's preferences were on the side of "lilac and gooseberry" during the game, then the quest "Last wish" ends with a pleasant surprise. The spell that bound the sorceress and the witcher was broken. But not feelings. And that means that new roads await them in each other's society and away from the affairs of kings.
All or nothing
Players rushing between the two ladies waiting for a sad outcome. The secret will become clear, both sorceresses will be mortally offended, and Geralt will be left alone with his, now the only companion, the order board.
And a little about others...
The ending variations don't stop there. Depends on Geralt Skellige's fate – whether Cerys an Craite will rally it, whether it will burn in the war with Nilfgaard under the leadership of Hjalmar, or will it be mired in civil war if Geralt prefers “not to choose at all”.
Keira Mets can fall at the hands of the witcher, die in an attempt to negotiate with Radovid, or become Geralt's comrade-in-arms, go to Kaer Morhen and meet Lambert, with whom he will connect his fate.
And that's not all. But each such detail deserves a separate analysis. Now is the time to move on to the DLC endings.
All endings of The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone
Who will win - mysterious Mr. Mirror or the noble bandit Olgerd von Everek - again depends on the witcher from Rivia.
Gunther o'Dim
In order for the soul of the last of the Evereks to be with Mr. Mirror, you just need not to interfere when the latter comes for Olgerd. He will turn into a pile of bones before Geralt's eyes, and O'Dim will reward the witcher.
Olgerd von Everek
If the player does not like the tricks of Gunther, then you can help von Everek save his life. For this you need:
- see you on the balcony talk to Professor Shezlock about the essence of Mr. Mirror. So the witcher learns about the gambling of this creature and the opportunity to play with him, putting his soul at stake;
- offer O'Dim a game where the prize will be the souls of Olgerd and the witcher himself;
- solve the riddle and find your rival in the reality he created. The correct answer would be "reflection". Water in the fountain will help to detect the reflection of the Glass Man.
Further, after the souls of the heroes are saved, Geralt can either cheer up Olgerd, who has found feelings and is in the grip of regrets, anger and pain, or directly declare that he himself is to blame for his troubles.
All endings of The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine
Blood and Wine is an expansion that is hard not to fall in love with. A solid, well-developed story left few people indifferent. And the dramatic endings of the DLC…
Bad
It won't take long to kill the sisters. Enough:
- contrary to words Regis set off in search of the Hidden;
- during the Ceremony, do not speak to Syanna.
Sianna stab sister during hearing Damien shoot Syanna.
Toussaint plunges into mourning. And Geralt will visit the sisters for the last time in their common tomb, where he will meet the broken Damien and make the last choice: he will put roses only on the grave Anna or honor Syanna's memory as well.
Neutral
If you do not take the ribbon from the girl in the fairy tale world, then Sianna will die by hand Detlaff. Whether or not the vampire himself survives is irrelevant. The difference will be only in the dialogues and whether the witcher will receive a monetary reward.
In any case, he will keep the estate, although he may end up in prison, from where Buttercup will help him out. With Anna-Genrint, Geralt will fall out of favor.
Good
It is difficult to try on sisters, but it is quite possible. The player needs to act as follows:
1. Completing a quest "Long Night" you need to listen to the words of Regis and Damien and go in search of Syanna.
2. During the mission "A long time ago":
- With the help of the diary, Geralt must learn the childhood story of Syanna and Anna-Henrietta. Moreover, you need to read the diary immediately;
- in dialogues with Sianna, show understanding and sympathy, let the girl pour out her soul;
- get from the "girl with matches" red ribbon. It can be bought for 500 or won in Gwent.
3. Finally, in the task "Ceremony" you need:
- having learned about the 5th goal of the Beast from Regis, Geralt must direct his steps to the shoe shiner and get information about the letters from him;
- conduct a thorough investigation, collecting information bit by bit;
- visit a shelter for the poor;
- get a letter regarding a new victim;
- talk to Syanna before the ceremony;
- during the award, speak out, saying that Sianna wanted to kill her sister and that Anna-Henrietta was to become Detlaff's next target;
- after the appearance of Siaana, the player must choose the following lines:
— "I forgot about you...";
- “Didn’t you think to forgive her? ...”;
"She was a child..."
All. Ahead - the hugs of the sisters, the order for Geralt and a happy ending for everyone except Regis and, of course, Detlaff.
The fate of Regis
In those endings where Detluff dies at the hands of an old friend of the witcher, Regis will be forced not only to leave Toussaint, but also to become an outcast in his tribe. In the same ending where Detluff survives, Regis will go looking for him.
Who is waiting for Geralt
Even in such a trifle as who meets the witcher in the estate at the end of the adventure, there are several variations:
- Yennefer or Triss – in case Geralt has decided on his love interest in the main game;
- Ciri - if the witcher tried to "wrap" both sorceresses or avoided romantic relationships altogether;
- Buttercup - a guest for those who went through only the DLC.
Thus, combinations of various decisions in the base game and DLC allow for an impressive number of endings for the game.
