Tier list in the Tower Defense mode "Anime Expedition" in Roblox will help you choose characters for story stages, endless trials, and challenging raids. Good damage dealers can clear waves or destroy bosses on their own, while supports buff allies, delay enemies, and accelerate yen accumulation.
Resources for summoning and leveling are limited, so developing every unit you receive isn't cost-effective. In this ranking, we'll compare characters by strength, examine their abilities, and highlight the best damage dealers and supports.
Character Tier List for Anime Expedition
A unit's tier position depends on its performance in different modes. The following criteria were taken into account when compiling the tier list:
- Damage potential — overall damage per second (DPS), effectiveness against bosses and groups of enemies, presence of area attacks.
- Usefulness for the team - buffing allies, weakening enemies, slowing down, stunning and other methods of control.
- Flexibility - performance in story mode, endless stages and raids.
- Scaling — strengthening of the character during a long battle, after transformation or fulfillment of the conditions of a passive skill.
- Assembly dependency - the need for certain traits, equipment, statuses or allies.
- Relevance in later stages - the ability to maintain usefulness after moving on to complex content.
The right traits and equipment can significantly increase a unit's effectiveness, but they do not address the fundamental limitations of its ability set.
Some characters combine damage with buffing allies or crowd control, so they appear in both columns.

S+ rank
The current version's strongest characters can handle virtually all modes and remain effective into the endgame. They boast high damage output, powerful transformations, and beneficial effects that impact the entire squad.
| Character | Features |
![]() Vegetable |
Enhanced by attacks from nearby units, increasing damage and critical hits. After transformation, it further increases its own stats and grants a damage bonus to one ally. |
![]() Prodigy (Prodigy) |
Every third normal attack deals heavy area damage. Gains advantage against enemies with status effects, and the transformation increases effectiveness in prolonged battles. |
![]() Dark Mage |
Uses ice and electric magic, making it better at countering various resistances. Combines slowing enemies with high explosive damage. |
![]() Shadow |
Summons persistent spirits and deals consistent damage throughout the entire wave. Shadow Realm buffs magical allies by 25% while simultaneously affecting enemy positioning. |
![]() Bioinsect |
Goes through several stages of transformation after defeating summoned bosses. It gains control through Bio Gel, and in its ultimate form, it gradually expands its attack range and area. |
![]() Eighth Sword |
Passively deals damage to nearby enemies and becomes significantly stronger after completing a kill requirement. Berserk Mode increases damage, range, and attack speed. |
![]() Raven |
He's highly dependent on gear and traits, so without a proper build, he's inferior to other players at this rank. Once properly leveled, he becomes a versatile primary damage dealer for any mode. |
S-rank
They're slightly inferior to the leaders, but remain priority targets for acquisition and leveling. Most are unlocked by selecting the right gear or fulfilling passive skill requirements.
| Character | Features |
![]() Carrot |
Generates morale through critical attacks, then transforms into a more powerful form. The transformation increases damage and critical stats, while teleportation triggers additional attacks. |
![]() Puppet |
Automatically marks the most dangerous enemies, speeding up boss destruction. Summons a doll for additional damage and can return enemies to the previous section of their route. |
![]() Cursed Student |
Inflicts bleeding and deals additional attacks, making it especially effective against targets with high health. Summoned spirits further increase damage in protracted battles. |
![]() Toy Maker |
Summons toys that independently attack enemies in a lane. The constant pressure of summoned creatures makes this character useful in almost all modes. |
![]() Razorjaw |
Without the Unbound trait, he may be inferior to other primary damage dealers. When fully equipped, his active ability deals massive damage to enemies across the map. |
![]() Cubert |
Fills a special gauge and summons cubes to help control the field. Up to six of these objects can be active at once. |
![]() The Drink |
Periodically marks enemies, empowering subsequent attacks and inflicting physical vulnerability. After transforming, additional hits are guaranteed to be critical, and the range and speed of attacks are increased. |
A-rank
Strong and reliable units, each with a specific purpose. Some require suitable allies or a lengthy battle, but remain a worthwhile investment.
| Character | Features |
![]() Crimson |
The marks trigger delayed explosions and are effective at clearing dense groups of enemies. After detonation, they leave behind areas on the ground that continue to deal damage. |
![]() Flame Emperor |
Spreads burning between nearby enemies, effectively destroying waves. Fire walls deal additional damage to all enemies passing through their path. |
![]() Salmon Sorcerer |
Slows and stuns enemies, keeping them within range of allies' attacks for longer. One of the most useful wave control supports. |
![]() Lady Giant |
Rock fragments trigger additional attacks and increase overall damage per second. Upon transforming into a giant, they simultaneously boost several stats. |
![]() Elf Mage |
Builds magical charges and grows stronger as the battle progresses. Additional spells deal high area damage. |
![]() Ramen Guy |
Increases the amount of yen earned for defeating enemies by 50%. Allows you to deploy expensive characters earlier and purchase their upgrades. |
B-rank
Representatives of this rank are suitable for story mode, endless mode, and raids, but lack the versatility of the top positions. Many of them perform best only in specialized teams.
| Character | Features |
![]() Cursed Immortal |
It has high overall damage, but loses effectiveness during particularly long phases. Requires timely preparation to fully utilize its potential. |
![]() String Demon |
Encases enemies in cocoons and stuns them, while simultaneously unleashing additional attacks with threads. A successful combination of crowd control and damage. |
![]() Reaper |
As the stage progresses, it accumulates permanent bonuses to damage and critical hit chance. Mirage Step allows you to change position and adapt to the situation on the field. |
![]() Hollow |
Deals increased damage to burning enemies and works especially well with Flame Emperor. Without the constant burning effect, it becomes noticeably weaker. |
![]() Forbidden Teacher |
Buffs all magical units within range. The aura's effect becomes more powerful as the unit is upgraded. |
![]() The Hero |
Increases the damage of nearby physical attackers. Works best in squads built around physical attacks. |
![]() True Saint |
Places a mark that increases damage taken by enemies. It requires no complex preparation and remains a convenient option for beginners. |
C-rank
Situational characters that can temporarily fill vacant positions. Investing significant resources in them is only worthwhile if you have a suitable team or a specific task.
| Character | Features |
![]() Greed |
Gains an advantage in boss fights and deals bonus damage. In normal battles, he's significantly weaker than more versatile damage dealers. |
![]() Ice Queen |
Freezes and slows enemies, and increases damage against weakened targets. Useful for crowd control, but deals relatively low damage. |
![]() Water Princess |
Creates shields that protect nearby allies from negative effects. Increases team stability, but has little effect on damage. |
![]() Scissors |
Consecutive attacks on a single target gradually become more powerful. Suitable for long battles, but accumulates the buff more slowly than higher-ranked characters. |
D-rank
Available starting units help you get through the early stages. Once you acquire more powerful characters, their damage and utility quickly become inadequate for the content's difficulty.
| Character | Features |
![]() Stone Alchemist |
Provides additional income early in the game. Later, he gives way to the Ramen Guy, but can temporarily fill his role. |
![]() Ice Mage |
Slows enemy movement and gives primary damage dealers more time to attack. Suitable as a starting controller until you gain stronger supports. |
![]() Bounty Hunter |
Deals normal damage and has no significant passive effects. It quickly becomes unusable after the mid-game. |
![]() Corps Captain |
It attacks consistently, but lacks the scaling needed for complex stages. It's used primarily to fill open positions early on. |
![]() Demon Cyborg |
Deals direct physical damage without additional mechanics or team bonuses. Easily replaced by more effective damage dealers. |
![]() Nen Hunter |
It handles the early story chapters well, but doesn't have any clear advantages. It noticeably lags behind the others at difficult stages. |
E-rank
The weakest characters in the current version lack valuable passive effects or good scaling. It's recommended to replace them immediately after acquiring more useful alternatives.
| Character | Features |
![]() Curly Brow |
Basic attacks are only useful in the early stages. Once epic characters appear, they become almost completely useless. |
![]() Kid Assassin |
Low overall damage makes it difficult to deal with late waves. An early swap will significantly improve the team's effectiveness. |
![]() Reishi Archer |
Doesn't have enough damage or useful additional effects. Can only serve as a temporary starting unit. |
![]() Thunder Shinobi |
Has acceptable initial damage, but barely improves as you level up. Quickly loses out to later-acquired characters. |
![]() Rubber Boy |
It lacks a significant passive ability that would distinguish it from other rare units. It's one of the prime candidates for replacement. |
![]() Little Carrot |
Has limited offensive potential and offers no benefit to allies. Long-term investment in upgrading is not justified. |
It's better to build the core of a strong squad around a damage dealer from the upper ranks, for example Prodigy (Prodigy) or 8th SwordSuch a character should be complemented with buffs, control, and a source of additional damage. Even the strongest character performs significantly better in the right team, so synergy is always more important than simply filling all positions with rare units.
