A team requires specific characters to maximize their numbers and unlock their full potential, but heroes with general bonuses to damage or Resonant Release are also suitable. For example, a good alternative team consists of Liney and Morny, despite the fact that she doesn't play a penetration-focused role.

Sigrika

Sigrika is a hyper-carry who relies on Echo Skills. Units with this mechanic depend on team composition, but with the right allies, they significantly boost their DPS. For this reason, she's not ideal for free-to-player, as she lacks alternatives among free or epic Resonators. In the endgame, she excels in Tower of Adversity due to her high single-target damage, but is also quite good in Whimpering Wastes.

Aemeath

Emif is an offensive fire resonator that deals devastating damage. The heroine can switch between two game modes: "Tune Break" and "Fusion Burst," allowing her to team up with different characters (such as Linay, Morny, or Chisa). The classic mono-fusion build with Lupa, Brant, and Chanli is also a viable option.

Moreover, unlike most DPS units, she doesn't require a signal—she does a good job using her standard weapon, the Emerald of Genesis. Despite her wide selection of allies, all of them are event legendaries. Emyth lacks truly suitable free supports, which will be a problem for new players.

Mornye

Qiuyuan

The character is easy to learn, and his rotation is fairly quick, allowing him to quickly spend time on the field. He's also not particularly picky about weapons and can equip a standard variant. His main drawback, and simultaneously his strength, is his niche nature. He's definitely good in the builds he's designed for, but he's not very versatile in other situations (at least until S3).

Galbrena

Galbrena is a simple yet powerful damage dealer. Her rotation revolves around constant use of basic attacks, with most of her damage coming from her Demonic Hypostasis stance. Thanks to her reliance on Echo skills, heavy attacks, and Fusion, she synergizes well with many heroes (such as Mortephy, Yuno, Brant, Lupa, Qiuyuan, and Frolova).

Her team composition is quite flexible, meaning there are many ways to maximize her potential. She can also get by with standard pistols, making her suitable for F2P play. Her main weakness is her inconsistent area-of-effect damage, making her a poor choice for Whimpering Wastes.

Yuno [Iuno]

Yuno fulfills several roles: dealing damage, buffing heavy attacks, healing, and restoring stamina. Thanks to her built-in buffs, she can serve as a primary damage dealer (especially with her signature), but is primarily considered an excellent support for Augusta and Jiyan.

Previously, Mortefi was the only optimal support for these units, but the priestess provides additional survivability, stronger effects, and increased personal damage, allowing the team to maximize its potential. However, Yuno may be less convenient to use due to her longer duration on the field, and her attacks are sometimes interrupted during rotation.

Augusta

Augusta is an electro damage dealer who plays from heavy attacks, and uses her ultimate as her main mechanic, which stops time and allows her to deliver swift and powerful blows. Semptimont's leader skills make her a truly versatile fighter, effective against single targets or enemy clusters. In addition, the character applies shields, which will be a nice addition to the skill set and will increase survivability.

Speaking about the team and build, the heroine is comfortable for any type of player: she gets a lot of benefit from both premium and free allies/weapons. Among the key "minuses" is the fact that Augusta is not very suitable for gameplay with quick switching due to the second ult, which accounts for most of the damage.

Frolova [Phrolova]

For example, she can play in a mono-elemental build with Cantarella and Roccia, or in a Phoebe/Jiang combo thanks to the heavy hit buff from the Outro skill. However, it is worth noting that without a signature weapon, her competitiveness is significantly reduced compared to other combat heroes.

Magnifying glass [Lupa]

Lupa is a character focused on strengthening Fusion teams, while having simple gameplay and the ability to quickly cancel animations. The gladiator's damage is distributed evenly between all abilities and spreads over the area, which makes her useful in various situations. For example, she is good in the mode with ships (Whimpering Wastes). The main drawback of the she-wolf is her attachment to Fusion elemental squads, outside of which she is of little use. In addition, the heroine has to be on the battlefield for a long time, which does not go well with short-duration buffs.

Ciaccona

Chaccona is a versatile damage dealer with Aero and Spectro Erosion mechanics. This allows her to fit into a team with Phoebe/Zani or combine with characters that rely on Aero DoTs. Overall, she doesn't take up much time and deals damage off the battlefield while buffing her allies, making her a pleasant hero. She's the best partner for Cartefia.

Chisa

Student Chisa is a support focused on strengthening teams with negative status effects. She inflicts Havoc Bane, greatly reducing defense, allowing her to stack even more negative status effects, pulls enemies in, and heals. She also deals significant damage, though it's negligible without any cons. She occupies the last slot and fits perfectly into meta damage groups: Emif and Danii in Fusion Burst, as well as Hiyuki. She can also act as a support for Cartefia in place of Rover (Aero).

Shorekeeper

Currently the strongest support in the game, which provides the team with healing and various buffs. The heroine increases crit. chance and crit. damage to allies by releasing resonance, and heals with the help of the skill. When using the Guardian of the Coast in a team, it is much easier to balance the stats on attacking characters. She is well suited for both hyper-carry squads and teams with several damage dealers.

The main disadvantage of the heroine is that she has very high energy requirements, which forces you to either pull out a signature weapon or very carefully select Echo by characteristics. Also, her abilities are physically limited: they are tied to a specific location, creating a small circle in it, and act only when the active character is within its boundaries.

Verina [Verina]

Verina is one of the best standard characters who is an excellent healer, buffs the team's damage by 20% and prevents an ally from dying when receiving lethal damage. However, her damage output is inferior to meta hyper-carries, and her use in the endgame can be complicated by the fact that the buffs received for penetration do not affect her "Hack."

Rebecca

Rebecca is a support capable of dealing damage. Her rotation is simple, though it takes longer than most buffers. Luke [Luuk Herssen]

Dr. Luke is a primary damage dealer who utilizes the "Tune Strain" mechanic and delivers high single-target DPS. His gameplay is built around aerial attacks, which provides an advantage in evasion but leaves him vulnerable to interrupts—a missed hit can disrupt his rotation and result in a loss of damage. He's a great choice for beginners and free-to-play players: standard gloves and a free Sanhua are sufficient for effective play.

Bulin

Despite her epic rarity, Bulin is a decent all-around support who both buffs and heals. She can replace Baiji in budget teams and excels in synergies with damage dealers who rely on Resonance (Carlotta, Jinxi, and Frolova). One of her special abilities is the Electro Flare debuff, which will be useful for future heroes. Mengzhou Seer is inferior to legendary healers, but with all her Consequences, she becomes a valuable support.

Cartethia [Cartethyia]

Cartefia is a damage-dealing hero who relies on the Aero Erosion mechanic. She has two forms: the first focuses on activating buffs, while the second acts as her primary source of damage. While she can easily crush opponents even without allies, her optimal composition and build are quite expensive—ideally, Cartefia requires two Signals (her own and Chakkona's) and, accordingly, a Bard on the team.

However, aside from the fact that this heroine requires a fair amount of investment, she's very comfortable to rotate and has multiple animation cancel options, allowing for significant combat optimization. She's also relatively easy to build (the best combination for Echo is "4-4-1-1-1," with a critical damage/critical chance monster in the main slot).

Zani

• Rarity: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

• Role: Main DD

Zani is a hyper-carry with extremely high base damage and a relatively simple rotation that does not require memorizing complex combos. She specializes entirely in the Spectro Frazzle mechanic, and the entire gameplay of the character is built around this. This feature allows her to significantly accelerate her already impressive DPS, but at the same time acts as a limitation. In particular, Phoebe (or Spectro Rover as a F2P option) is desirable for the heroine to reveal her full potential. However, despite the limiting factors, the strengths of the unit far outweigh the disadvantages, allowing her to be used in content of any focus.

Brant

Brant's skillset stands out from other characters: while most can either deal damage or support the squad, Brant does both. With decent investments, he can be used as a primary or secondary damage dealer, which will additionally provide the squad with healing and shields, as well as a bonus to Fusion damage. An interesting gameplay bonus: Brant spends most of the battle in the air and uses a basic attack.

However, everything comes at a price: this hero is very dependent on his signature, without which he cannot show similarly high results, and the correct selection of stats is extremely important for him, which is why farming decent Echoes can take a long time. In addition, despite the simple rotation in terms of pressing buttons, you need to be very careful in battle when playing for Brant, as he is easy to knock down.

Phoebe

Phoebe can rightfully be called the most friendly character to F2P players: she has a wide selection of epic weapons and an easy Echo build, and as partners she can easily take the least frequently used units, without forcing you to tear off the best heroes for her. She shows herself best as a main DD, but in some situations she can play as a secondary damage dealer, for example, in combination with Zani. As a basis for the squad, she also wants to see Spectro Rover among her allies, which can be both a plus and a minus for those who are not attracted to playing for the main character. She works great against a crowd of enemies, since her skills have area damage.

Carlotta

Carlotta plays as a hyper-carry, dealing the main damage from the Resonance skill and mostly keeping her distance from enemies. She has very high damage, which is compensated by her single-target focus: she is not that strong in area damage and against groups of mobs. Despite the long cooldown of abilities and the need to constantly be on the field, her skill set and rotation are very easy to master.

Due to her unusual playstyle, she is a great way to diversify the combat of old players, adding new impressions from the game. However, she is quite dependent on her signature Echo, which is not suitable for almost anyone except herself, making farming equipment unprofitable.

Camellia

Camellia is the main damage dealer who deals area damage through basic attacks. Rover Spectro

B-rank resonators have good potential, but they are also burdened with shortcomings that cannot be overlooked, which is why they cannot yet claim positions higher in the list of the best WuVa characters. If you invest in such a hero and select strong allies that complement the character and reveal his abilities, then they can very well become an excellent bonus to the game.

Roccia

The hero combines the functions of a buffer and a secondary damage dealer, but is not necessarily the best version of her epic competitors. Xiangli Yao

Xiangli Yao is the main damage dealer who plays through the release of resonance and is able to deal damage for some time even after becoming inactive. He barely uses normal or heavy attacks, which makes it difficult to combine with some sub-deaders or buffers, such as Mortefi. However, overall this is a fairly versatile and easy to learn character.

Resonant circuits do not change the essence and principle of playing as a hero, but add pure damage, which is beneficial for those players who want to strengthen their resonator in this way.

Zhezhi

Jaeji is the girl who performs best as a sub-DD. You can build her as a main DD, but she will definitely lose in terms of damage compared to other characters who, according to their mechanics, are initially designed to be main damage dealers. To some extent, she can be considered a semi-buffer, since her abilities include increasing the damage of the Glacio element and the resonance skill.

For this reason, Zhezhi is most beneficial for knocking out those players who lack secondary damage dealers, have main or sub-DD Glacio elements, or characters who attack with the resonance skill. In other combinations, the heroine is no longer so strong, although in any case she is useful due to her high damage.

Jinhsi

It is worth noting that the heroine has almost no potential in sub-DD, since she requires a lot of attention to herself and does not have buffering abilities. As a main DD, she can easily cover any content and is equally good against single targets and groups of enemies.

Yin Lin [Yinlin]

Then the hero inflicts a lot of destructive damage, replaces all his skills, basic and heavy attacks with enhanced ones, applying a Havok infusion to the sword.

Encore

Encore is a great standard damage dealer, dealing a lot of damage at long range with her rectifier, but she can sometimes be difficult to parry enemy attacks on. The ultimate radically changes her combat mechanics: Enkor becomes a melee character and quickly strikes with her hand. In this state, you can simply spam attacks to deal with a group of enemies.

The outro skill creates a flame zone around the target with a radius of 3 meters, constantly inflicting Fusion damage on opponents, thanks to which it removes the health of enemies even while buffers and healers are performing their rotations.

Danjin

Danjin is the strongest epic heroine, but requires excellent reflexes and good knowledge of the combat system. Can use the skill indefinitely, sacrificing his health to increase damage. After accumulating Resonance energy, makes a heavy attack and restores some of its HP. The heroine’s skills force her to avoid taking damage, which is why she requires a shield member to join her squad, not a healer, or very careful play.

Since Danjin's Outro skill has a buff to Havok's damage, it can work well when paired with Rover (Havok). However, there is a big problem: the girl needs to spend a lot of time on the field to collect enough Concert energy, the same is required for Rover, so playing together with two main DPS will be difficult.

Baizhi

Baiji is a support resonator who spends most of his time healing the squad, and also buffs the damage of allies by 15% - the effect will last 20 seconds. Somewhat inferior to Verina, however, it is given out for free when completing the storyline, which makes Baizhi an accessible and good character.

Baiji summons a pet to restore the entire team's health, creating 4 stacks of Residual Essences. They follow active squad members and automatically consume and attack a target every 2,5 seconds, dealing Glacio damage on hit and replenishing HP to all nearby heroes.

C rank characters

C-rank heroes are not the strongest characters in Wuwaring Waves, requiring maximum attention, leveling and resources if you want to achieve high combat performance from them. But all is not lost, because they are also endowed with unique skills and can combine well in well-chosen squads.

Calcharo

Calcharo is a good damage dealer whose skill gives three subsequent basic attacks the Electro element, and after that he can perform an additional heavy blow in the fall. The mechanics allow him to dodge and parry attacks in time, which is very useful if the team does not have a reliable healer or shield member.

Even without additional bonuses to elemental damage or ATK, Calciaro puts up some good numbers. It can cancel the animation of the ultimate (but the damage will go through to the end), however, it is considered difficult to master for beginners and does not hold up well to competition in comparison with event legendaries.

Jianxin

Jianxin is a difficult but effective support character to implement, as her full rotation takes up too much of the main DD's precious time. She can heal, place shields on allies and control on enemies, and strengthen heroes with Outro.

However, this requires a series of basic attacks and a heavy strike, which is why she spends so much time on the battlefield. Jianxin's control doesn't extend to bosses, so she's only effective against easy enemies in the open world or in certain challenges that require shields and mob pulls.

Yang Yang [Yangyang]

Yang Yang is a free Aero Resonator that you will receive as part of the story. Endowed with mediocre damage, it can pull enemies together, causing Aero damage. Thanks to his Outro skill, he restores energy to the next hero who enters the battlefield, however, in the later stages of the game he will not cope with strong monsters and will sag.

With Wave Range 3, her control is greatly enhanced, with the skill's damage bonus increasing by 40% and her pull range increasing by 33%. The downside is that she needs to hit hard often to build up melodies and make full impact, however, this takes up too much stamina.

Chixia

• Rarity: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Chisha is a resonator, which, when rotated correctly, causes a ton of damage, however, to do this, the girl will have to continuously attack the enemy and replenish the energy of Resonance and Concert. At the start, it will be difficult to realize the full potential of the heroine, since it is important to know all the features of the bosses and find a window during the battle for an enhanced attack. When leaving the battlefield, Outro uses his skill to release a shock wave around the main target, dealing Fusion damage equal to 530% of Chishiya's attack to all enemies within the blast radius.

Yanwu

Yanwu is a sub-DD that will help deal additional Electro damage while the main character is in the pocket. His damage is not good enough for the unit to take the position of main DD, and the hero also does not have strong buffs for the team. He can temporarily replace the damage dealer, but he won’t make a significant impact without proper leveling and legendary equipment.

Thanks to the ult, it forms a field in which any character, causing damage to the enemy, will cause an additional blow with Electro damage from the Yanwu blade for 15 seconds.

Taoqi

Taoqi is an interesting resonator who takes the position of a tank: generates shields and takes incoming damage, saving allies and to some extent a fairly independent character, but has a low attack speed, which significantly affects DPS. She easily parries, can stun the enemy, and deftly dodges enemy attacks, but it is worth paying special attention to her defense characteristics and pouring in a lot of resources. In the early game, Taoqi is a great hero. However, in end-game content, she will not be able to handle powerful boss attacks, and her shields will be practically useless.

After reading our guide, you can decide: what characters you would like to get, what squads to form. If you choose heroes depending on the waifu factor, then don’t worry and spend more time leveling up and learning the resonator skills. Then any character will be strong for closing early and middle content.

D rank characters

Characters who fall into D-rank cannot be classified as weak or less useful units. Their low position is due to the fact that the heroes have inconveniences in use or they are not so relevant, so they can easily be replaced by other resonators belonging to the same class or element.

Rover Electro

Rover (Electro) is a hybrid character designed for units that are immune to the Electro Flare debuff. The main character inflicts a total of 15 charges of this status, increasing damage dealt to enemies and providing additional bonuses such as increased attack power and overall damage. However, the unit's personal combat potential is quite low, even with all consumables unlocked, and he currently has no useful applications.

Lin Yang [Lingyang]

Lin Yang is the main damage dealer with dynamic animations, using gloves as a weapon, which makes him extremely fast. The character may receive an unexpected blow from the boss, or Lin Yan himself may miss while jumping along the pillars.

He occupies a low high position because he has no additional buffs and is not team-oriented. He follows his own playstyle and requires a lot of investment, as well as a reliable support on hand who could increase his Glacio damage, such as Sanhua.

Aalto

Aalto is a good Aero shooter, who in a team with any damage dealer of the same Aero element will buff his damage. Deals a guaranteed critical hit every 30 seconds, so you can just take him out of your pocket in time, make a shot and go back, giving way to the main DD. Due to his narrow focus, it is difficult to find a squad for him. He will fit well in a team with Jiyan, but Aalto's usefulness ends with a shot.

Lumi

The heroine combines the functions of a sub-DD and a buffer, but is at the very bottom of the tier list due to the noticeable inconvenience of use. Because of this, at the moment she is not the best character for investment, although in the future, with the release of new heroes, the situation may change.

Youhu
