A series of games and films about the talented archaeologist Lara Croft has become very popular franchise, which has earned the love of a large number of fans. The latest film adaptation was released in 2018 starring Alicia Vikander, and it looks like the audience will soon see another appearance of Lara on the screens.
According to information from The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon plans to release TV series-screen version based on the game Thomab Raider. The main character will be a female archaeologist Lara Croft, whose role in the previously released films was played by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander. The project is in development, and the main scriptwriter is Phoebe Waller-Bridge, one of the most significant works on whose account is the series "Fleabag".
It is known that Phoebe will not take part in the filming, and will join the team only as a screenwriter. They will work with her on the future series Ryan Andolina и Amanda Greenblatt. Nevertheless, the girl herself is interested in the role, and she is familiar with the genre of adventure films - in 2023 she will appear on the screens in the fifth film about Indiana Jones as his niece Clea Helena.
Journalists also report that Amazon has already acquired the rights to the franchise and plans to expand the Thomab Raider universe not only a series, but also a future film, in order to combine all events into a single chronological line. There is no more detailed information yet - even the full name of future premieres is kept secret, as well as plot details. As more details become known, we will be sure to let you know.

To be honest, I don’t expect much success in future films and serials based on tomb rider. I watched a movie with Vikander. The actress herself played well, but the plot turned out to be somehow light and did not hook. Like this, for one time.
But the whole idea with the chronology is interesting, only here there will be a hodgepodge, if not something third (although it is likely that they will refer to the remake starting from 2013).
However, I have no idea who could play this role well. In principle, Alicia Vikander could continue, so to speak, begun. But honestly, her appearance doesn't really fit with Lara.
Just waiting for news~
