Topaz in HSR is a legendary representative of the Path of the Hunt, and fire element. The Member of the "Interstellar Peace Corporation" specializes in the destruction of single targets together with her Warp Trotter. Occupies the role of a subDPS-dps, and the main skill in the rotation is considered to be the bonus attack from the talent Trotter Market!?, carried out by the action of the summoned creature.
The mechanics embedded in the heroine completely replicate the feature of General Jing Yuan's, which at the beginning of the battle complements the cycle of turns with the Lightning Lord. Similar to the Lightning hero, the girl enlists the help of a creature named Numby - it has its personal action, but is not considered a separate unit like the memosprites from the Path of Remembrance.
Despite the narrow focus, epic replacement aka Shadow Guardian Moze and lack of versatility in AoE content, she is still considered an excellent character in teams with bonus attacks led by Dr. Ratio or, for example, General Feixiao. She performs exceptionally well in higher levels of the "Forgotten Hall" and "Apocalyptic Shadow," especially with appropriate gear and balanced stats.

How to Get the Character
There are several options for getting the heroine on your account: an event banner or purchasing it with special currency in the in-game store.
Event Warp: Sunset Clause

Topaz can be obtained in the Event Warp using Special Star Passes.
If you don't want to miss Topaz's rerun, as well as other legendary and epic characters' "Warps", bookmark our banner schedule.
Stellar Convergence: Character Redemption

As a free reward, the IPC senior employee can be purchased in the "Stellar Convergence" store for Golden Companion Spirit (starting with version 3.7).
Strengths and Weaknesses

The strategic investment department employee is considered the "core" in teams with bonus attacks. This narrow focus becomes both her strength and weakness, as it limits her potential in other teams.
| Strengths | Weaknesses |
| Flexibility of the role: capable of occupying the position of the main damage dealer or an additional DPS hero, supporting more independent representatives of other attacking Paths. | Numby's actions depend on the "activity" of the owner: if the heroine is under a negative status that imposes control, the Trotter's actions will also shift. |
| High outgoing damage: Deals a large % of damage to one target through a combination of personal abilities and the actions of the Trotter, Numby. | Belonging to the Path of the Hunt and lack of AoE skills make the IPC member a less attractive choice compared to most top-tier damage dealers. |
| The best "support" For characters who rely on bonus attacks. This is because buffs that boost bonuses affect not only the heroine but also her allies. | Specializing in bonus attacks teams. Outside of her signature team, she starts to significantly sag in damage and does not reveal her potential to the maximum. |
| Effective in terms of action pointsRelies heavily on Numby and doesn't use the skill very often, allowing to save a decent amount of skill points. |
Best Topaz Builds in Honkai: Star Rail

The heroine is an unusual representative of the Path of the Hunt due to her skill "Difficulty Paying?", which applies the "Proof of Debt" status to the target enemy and increases the damage of any bonus attacks directed against them.
The build of Topaz in HSR is based on the following characteristics: ATK, crit and fire damage bonus. Each of the listed stats affects both the character's personal DPS and her Trotter, Numby, especially when it enters the state of “Windfall Bonanza!”. No less important is speed, as well as energy recovery if there are no external buffs (for example, Lightning Tingyun).
Recommended Stats
The main stats that are recommended to look for in artifacts:
| Head | HP (fixed) |
| Hands | Attack Power (fixed) |
| Body | Crit rate or dmg |
| Boots | Speed (priority), attack power (situational) |
| Planar Sphere | Fire bonus (priority), attack power (situational) |
| Link Rope | ATK |
As for the secondary characteristics, then you should give priority to the following stats:
Speed > Crit > ATK
The optimal values that are recommended to have on the character:
- ATK: 2 and more;
- speed: 134 and more;
- crit rate: 80-90% or higher;
- crit dmg: 150% and more.
Light Cone Rating
When choosing a weapon, remember that it must be related to the Path of the Hunt for the passive effect to work. Among the most suitable options, the following "cards" are worth highlighting:
| Light cone | Effect | Recommendation |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 48-1058 ATK 26-582 DEF 21-463 |
Crit chance increases by 18-30%, and the damage from the bonus hit is 30-50%After performing a bonus attack, inflicts the Tamed status on the target (can stack up to 2 times). When an ally hits an enemy with Tamed, each level of this status increases critical damage by 12-20%. | The Signature is the best option at any awakening level, providing the necessary boosts — crit dmg and increased DPS from bonus attacks. Additionally, it inflicts a negative status effect, which is a significant boost for the entire team. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 43-952 ATK 24-529 DEF 21-463 |
Owner's crit chance is increased by 8-16%. Crit. chance against opponents with HP less than or equal to 50% is additionally increased by 8-16%When you defeat an enemy, your attack power increases by 20-40% for 2 turns. | Cone from the "Herta's Store" Offers a boost to critical strike and also increases attack power. The ATK boost is calculated based on the hero's turns, not Numby's, allowing the latter's bonus attacks to deal a higher percentage of damage over a longer period. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 43-952 ATK 24-529 DEF 18-396 |
The owner's Critical Damage is increased by 24%. Damage dealt by skills and bonus attacks is increased by 24%. | A versatile option with no requirements for activating the passive. It provides bonus damage and, most importantly, buffs bonus jabs, which are the main source of damage. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 43-952 ATK 21-476 DEF 15-330 |
When the owner attacks the same enemy multiple times, the damage dealt increases by each time. 8-16%: Can stack up to 5 times. The effect is removed when the target changes. | Epic Cone, which is at level 5 of "superimposition" may surpass most of the previously introduced "cards." Numby easily reaches the maximum number of stacks, allowing to fully utilize the passive. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 43-952 ATK 21-476 DEF 15-330 |
The wearer's attack power is increased by 16-32%. If there are 2 or fewer enemies on the battlefield, crit. chance increases by 12-24%. | Provides a boost to ATK, the stat that affects the damage output of Numby. If you're having trouble balancing your attack stats, this cone will prove beneficial, especially against elite enemies. "Forgotten Hall" и "Apocalyptic Shadow". |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 43-952 ATK 21-476 DEF 15-330 |
ATK is increased by 12-20%When the owner critically hits, they gain 1 level of the "Luck" status, which stacks up to 4 times. Each existing level of the "Luck" status increases the damage by 8-12%The "Luck" status is removed at the end of the turn. | Thanks to the Trotter's frequent attacks, the passive effect is highly likely to activate reliably. This will allow you to accumulate all its stacks and receive a powerful boost to your critical strike. |
If the options discussed are not available, you can use:
- Sleep Like the Dead (Legendary) - helps balance critical hits. The main requirement is that the character or Trotter doesn't crit to get critical hits.
- "Spring river flowsand Return to Darkness (Epic) - Not the strongest cones even among 4-star rarities, but the ability to activate passive effects makes them quite decent alternatives for the first time.
What relics and ornaments are needed
When choosing planar ornaments and cavern relics, prioritize sets that boost important stats. The tables below list all recommended sets or combinations.
Cavern relics
| Set and its effects | Recommendation |
![]() 2 parts: Increases bonus attack damage by 20%. |
A standard set of cavern relics designed for heroes with bonus attack mechanics. An excellent choice for the Senior Staff member, as it significantly increases the DPS of both her and her summoned pig. |
![]() 2 parts: Increases damage dealt to enemies with Debuffs by 12%. |
A set that forces cooperation with Path of Nihility to maintain debuffs (in addition to the personal negative status "Proof of Debt "). Offers a significant boost to critical hits if the enemy is under 2-3 negative effects during attacks. |
![]() 2 parts: Increases bonus attack damage by 20%. In combination with sets:
|
2x2 alternatives aimed at strengthening Topaz overall, and Numby in particular. They are less demanding on a Path of Nihility representative, as the heroine is able to maintain a negative status with her skill. |
Planar ornaments
| Set and its effects | Recommendation |
![]() 2 parts: When allies perform a bonus attack, the wearer gains 1 level of Merit, which stacks up to 5 times. Each level of Merit increases the damage dealt by the wearer's bonus attack by 5%. Upon reaching level 5, the wearer's critical damage is further increased by 25%. |
An extremely effective set that significantly boosts the heroine. She usually plays with other characters with bonus attacks, but even without them, she can quickly reach all the status levels needed to fully utilize her passive. |
2 parts: Increases critical damage by 16%. If the owner has summoned creatures on the battlefield, the critical damage is increased by an additional 32%. |
A set with a significant increase in combat effectiveness. There are no requirements or rotation requirements — the presence of Numby, who appears automatically at the start of the battle, is sufficient. |
![]() 2 parts: Increases the owner's critical strike chance by 8%. If the critical strike is greater than or equal to 50%, the damage of the ultimate and bonus hit is increased by 15%. |
An optimal option offering significant buffs. While inferior to the previous sets, it's an excellent choice early in the game, especially with the right substats. The key is to reach 50% damage/loss. |
Team Guide for Topaz in HSR
Topaz can fill two roles in a team: primary DPS and secondary damage dealer. She pairs well with players who master bonus attacks and utilize this mechanic as their primary source of damage. She also greatly appreciates having support players in her team.
Which characters are suitable?
The following heroes can join the team:
| Character | Features |
![]() |
A damage dealer who effectively deals with larger enemies. She relies on bonus hits and synergizes well with heroes who can attack frequently, as this allows him to charge up her Flying Aureus. |
![]() |
Topaz and Ratio are a team where each complements the other perfectly. Veritas provokes Numby's attacks, and the IPC employee offers a debuff from the "Difficulty Paying?" skill, with an additional bonus at E1. |
![]() |
Acts as a DPS character. While the Soulsteel Sync status is active, after attacking an enemy, he has a fixed 50% chance to trigger a bonus attack. This attack has a chance to freeze the target. |
![]() |
When E2 is unlocked, starts performing bonus attacks. Also grants the "Shifu" status to one targeted ally, granting various buffs: additional damage, damage reduction, or break effect. |
![]() |
Performs similar functions in the team, often serving as a budget replacement for the girl. However, he can play with her on the same team if legendary support characters are unavailable. |
![]() |
Constantly counterattacks thanks to her talent and superpower. She'll be a good primary or secondary damage dealer when paired with the IPC member, who will, in turn, significantly boost Yunli herself. |
![]() |
Counterattacks enemies when taking incoming damage. While the ultimate is active, also automatically attacks enemies when they use abilities against team members. |
| Can act as either a primary or secondary damage dealer, supporting a more powerful damage-dealing Path member with her own DPS. Her primary stat is break, making her extremely easy to build. | |
![]() |
She serves as the primary DPS character. At the start of combat, she summons the Lightning Lord, whose attacks count as bonus attacks. Having the heroine in her party gives her a huge boost. |
![]() |
Upon breaching a vulnerability, gains 1 level of "Charge." Upon reaching 3 levels, performs a bonus strike. Thanks to the IPC worker, similar to Jing Yuan, she receives a huge DPS boost. Additionally, she allows you to create a powerful mono-fire team. |
![]() |
Performs exceptionally well in modes that require AoE damage, as the number of enemies affects how quickly special charges build up. These charges are essential for consistently delivering bonuses. |
![]() |
The "Impromptu Flourish" trace increases critical damage of bonus attacks, making the Halovian singer the best support for characters that rely on this mechanic. |

All about leveling
The table shows the materials and quantities required to reach level 80, as well as to upgrade abilities and hidden talents (traces).
Final amount of resources for fully leveling up the heroine:
- Credits (×3 888 000);

How skills work

The girl's abilities, as a representative of the Path of the Hunt, are aimed at inflicting fire damage on single targets. The heroine is capable of acting as the main DPS character of the team, but she is fully revealed in groups with those who, under certain conditions, can carry out bonus attacks on opponents.
The key feature of the IPC worker is her status "Proof of Debt", which is applied after using the skill. This effect increases the damage from any bonus attacks by a significant percentage, and thanks to this, characters with mechanics of the named direction are revealed in a completely new way.
Active skills
"Explicit Subsidy" || Enhance
In the open world - Summons Numby who can automatically find regular chests and Trotters within a certain radius. In battle — Using the technique restores 60 energy in the next battle after the first hit from Numby.
After using the "Explicit Subsidy" technique and defeating opponents in the open world, if Numby remains in the team, when receiving credits for killing enemies, the player receives an additional reward. For one real day you can get up to 10 in-game currency. In addition, after using the "Explicit Subsidy" technique and defeating the enemy in any of the Worlds of the Simulated Universe the team additionally receives a small amount of space fragments and has some chance of earning a random curiosity.
"Deficit..." || Single Strike
Deals fire damage to the target enemy (50-130%).
"Difficulty Paying?" || Single Strike

At the start of the turn or during an ally's action, if there is no enemy with the aforementioned negative status on the battlefield, the character imposes it on a random enemy. On the target that is under the influence of "Proof of Debt", Numby carries out a fire-type attack, which is considered a bonus attack: its damage is equal to 75-187.5% of the character's ATK.
"Turn a Profit!" || Enhance
Numby enters the "Windfall Bonanza!" state, which increases its damage multiplier by 75-187.5%, and crit dmg indicator by 12.5-31.25%. Among other things, the advances Numby's action by 50%.when an enemy with the "Proof of Debt" status is damaged by an ally's Basic Attack, Skill, or Super Ability.

When an enemy affected by the Proof of Debt debuff receives an ally's bonus attack, Numby's action advances by 50%..
Advancing the action cannot be triggered during Numby's turn. If the creature's owner becomes unable to fight, i.e. dies, Numby disappears.
Leveling Order
Skill ≥ talent > ult > basic attack
Skill, talent and superpower are equal in terms of priority. Skills are ranked according to importance, so their leveling is done side-by-side. Basic attack is placed in the same position as other skills after learning the trace “Overdraft”: When a basic attack deals damage, it is considered a bonus attack.As a result, all skills are essential for full development both as a primary DPS character and as a secondary damage dealer.

Best Topaz's eidolons are the first, fourth and sixth:
- E1, similar to the signature light cone "Worrisome, Blissful," is considered a significant boost for the heroine, as it provides a significant increase in damage from bonus attacks. It is also useful for the primary DPS role.
- E4 — an additional benefit that allows you to visit more frequently and, accordingly, more productively update the “Proof of Debt” and “Debtor” statuses.
- E6 - an expensive but powerful acquisition that will allow you to quickly deal with enemies with fire vulnerability.
As a F2P player, if you plan to pull for additional eidolons, you can stop at E1. This acquisition will significantly boost the heroine and allow you to easily complete any high-level content.
How to Play Topaz in HSR

General principles for Topaz's rotation:
- Before you trigger the battle, switch to the heroine and activate the technique Explicit Subsidy. Thus, after entering the battle, the character's energy will be filled by 60 points, which will allow the ultimate skill to be activated earlier.
- When the IPC worker takes her turn, use the skill “Difficulty Paying?” on the main enemy to apply the Proof of Debt buff. Subsequently, monitor the enemy's statuses by pressing the "Z" key. It is important that the Proof of Debt buff is active on permanent basis.
- The Trotter's actions directly depend on the "activity" of the character: If the girl is under control that will "mute" her actions for 1 turn, Numby's actions will also be shifted back.
- Keep track of active positive statuses on your character, promptly updating buffs from the heroes of the Path of Harmony. Proceed in the same way with representatives of the Path of Nihility, if they are present in the team.
- After accumulating enough energy, use the ultimate "Turn a Profit!", thus, Numby will enter the "Windfall Bonanza!" state, which will significantly increase its damage for the next 2 hits.
Is The Character Worth Pulling?

In Honkai: Star Rail, the IPC worker Topaz is a Path of the Hunt character that specializes in dealing fire damage to a single target through direct strikes and activating bonus attacks. At the same time, the senior employee's primary skill enhances her allies' attack bonuses, making her a brilliant companion for units of similar specialization.
Overall, she's more than friendly to F2P players: her Eidolons aren't mandatory, and she offers the ability to deal high DPS with an Epic Lightcone. The free Legendary variant from Herta's shop, "Cruise the Galaxy" also performs well - at Level 5 of "superimposition" is not that much inferior to the signature "card" S1, which allows for comfortable play without any investment.
The character's usefulness is largely tied to the team that is frequently used in the endgame. Any units with bonus hit mechanics (e.g., Arbiter General Feixiao or Dr. Ratio) will undoubtedly appreciate her addition to their team. Therefore, if you're looking to boost such teams, she's an excellent choice. However, outside of her core decks, she doesn't reach her full potential, making her less relevant.
Which is better: signature or E1
It is recommended to choose the signature cone, as it not only increases the character's own damage output but also simplifies the build. The Eidolon is beneficial exclusively for the team, increasing critical damage of bonus attacks. Although the IPC employee also serves as a support, her personal DPS is no less important, so the weapon will be a more versatile investment.
Topaz Trailers
The heroine represents the Interstellar Peace Corporation, holding the position of senior employee in the strategic investments department and head of the Special Debts Picket Team. It is known that she was born on a planet vaguely reminiscent of Yarilo-VI's fate, but left it. The reason for this was the opportunity to join the "Ten Stonehearts," who offered her the "Topaz of Debt Retrieval," that's where her current name came from.
