Therefore, the first advice that a beginner should follow is play in prologue. This is a new feature of the game, which includes both a gradual learning of all the main mechanics of the game, but also an independent part with its own storyline for several dozen hours.

A detailed overview of all playable factions in Total War: Warhammer 3
Total War: Warhammer 3 Campaign
The game mode is now based on the story part, which is dedicated to Chaos Daemon Invasion. The main goal of the game is to be the first to get 4 great souls directly from the Realm of Chaos. Naturally, there are also several nuances here.
The main thing is that only the Legendary Lord who is the head selected faction. This automatically means that he must have the most powerful army and the best equipment available at the moment.
Faults open up short period, during which you need to have time to get to them. In addition, they are plot milestones, because it is through the faults that great souls are mined. Interestingly, only one particular soul per particular realm is available at a time. Please note that if your army in the rift is defeated, you will have to wait for the next gate opening, and not a factthat the Realm of Slaanesh will become available, not the Throne of Khorne.
Combat and army
From the first minutes it is difficult not to get lost in the gigantic number of all kinds of units available in the game. However, knowledge of several basic advice will help in this situation. Always pay attention to the type of unit: infantry (sword and spear), cavalry, archers, artillery and monsters. Each of them has related bonuses against certain types of enemy.
Formation button - This is a feature that saves the player from unnecessary control. In its basic version, it allows you to place troops in a standard pattern when infantry is in front, which covers archers and artillery. Having placed the army in this way, you can already personally substitute this or that unit in another position, which will seem successful to the player.
The most important thing to always remember is flank protection. If the enemy hits an unprotected flank, he gains a huge advantage not only tactically, but also reduces the parameters of the troops affected by the attack.
Additionally, attention should be paid to terrain, which significantly affects the effectiveness of various types of units. For example, shooters on high ground receive both a more effective angle of fire and additional shot damage that is not marked on their card.
Cavalry on the battlefield
This is the type of troops with which the player is most difficult to interact with. The cavalry is one of the most fast squads, available in the game, whose task is to deal the main damage. However, she requires microcontrol, so do not thoughtlessly throw it into the ranks of the enemy.
Use the advantage of speed to get around the enemy's main lines and then strike. After that, it is immediately necessary to withdraw the cavalry from the battle, repeating the attack maneuver. This tactic is called cyclical onslaught, allowing the cavalry to destroy thousands of warriors with impunity.
How to raise an army
A good stack should be maxed out universal in battle. It must contain both archers and a strong wall. Additionally, you always need to strengthen it with unique creatures controlled by the faction, be it flying demons or vicious bears. Good tone will have at least six units of infantry with shieldsthat will keep the enemy hit. Add here two squads of cavalry to control the enemy. Five ranged units they will confidently cope with inflicting the main part of the damage, and if there is artillery, then it’s generally fine.
However, first of all, you need to read the warrior cards in order to understand their unique features and imagine how this can be used. Don't be afraid to experiment, as Warhammer encourages this approach.
However, regardless of the composition, you need to have a completed stack, which includes 20 units. This greatly reduces the time of the battle in the initial stages, while teaching the control of a large number of troops. An excellent help will be the participation in the battle of two stacks at once, which will cope with almost any situation that arises.
Legendary lords and heroes
Various named characters have a huge impact on the game. It could be like legendary lord generals, and simple heroeshired by the dozens. Some of them are designed for bloody battles, as hinted at by their high performance and health level. Others are useful on the global map, where they can play the role of scouts and saboteurs. Particular attention should be paid of magic, which often plays a decisive role in a strategic battle.
Diplomacy in Total War Warhammer 3
Third completely redesigned diplomatic system. From now on, the player is able not only to declare wars and make defensive alliances. Skillful use of political connections will allow swap whole provinces, hire allied troops (!!!), which will radically change the combat gameplay. Just imagine elven archers firing from behind the broad back of a squat scrap iron!
Another nice little thing will be the ability to expel passing armies from your land, and without receiving a diplomatic fine for this. Therefore, already from the start of the game, you need to determine with whom to be friends and against whom to fight, because it is very easy to miss a turning point.
Trading is a nice way to earn both money and diplomatic points. This aspect also received a number of improvements, but rather within the interface. The quick deal option will allow you not to waste time scrolling through the list of fifty factions, but to immediately find factions ready for a deal.
Economy in Total War Warhammer 3
Despite the fact that all factions in the game have the same mechanics for building and developing settlements, cities contain unique buildings. In the end, a reliable economy is the key to more armies, so it's worth mentioning these nuances.
Profits
As already mentioned, trading is a nice addition to the standard taxes from subordinate provinces. However, this parameter can be overclocked quite a lot due to unique buildings that generate resources for trade. It can be wood, elven jewelry, iron and others, which are useful not to forget. In addition to trading bonuses, such buildings also globally improve the economy, for example, the lumberjack's house reduces the maintenance of all spearmen by 1%.
It is also worth paying attention to those buildings that increase income from the entire province as a whole, or accelerate the study of technologies. The more such buildings are under control, the more effective the empire controlled by the player becomes.
Another great source of income is spoils of warinherited by the victorious army. Often, the gold received for plundering an enemy city reaches 10-12 thousand, and this is actually the price of the final buildings in the settlement. Why else do we need armies?
Settlement Growth
Growth has the greatest impact on urban development. Each main building increases the growth required to raise the level of the city. The higher the growth indicators, the faster the faction will be able to develop and become powerful troops. The faster a player builds buildings that generate growth, the better for his expansion. With each new level of the city, in addition, open additional slots for the construction of the necessary buildings, including strong walls and strong garrisons that can fight off a weak enemy.
