'The Realm of Clouds' is an event quest in Genshin Impact, which is the first part of "A Lanternlit Ode to the Silver Moon" chain. Arriving in Liyue for another celebration, meet up with old friends and explore the ancient relics on display. You'll find yourself drawn into an investigation into a mysterious phenomenon that touches the past of the White Horse from the legends of the Geo region.
How to start the quest
The mission became available on January 30th, along with the 2026 Lantern Rite, and will be available forever. To get started, be sure to:
- reach minimum 20th adventure rank;
- complete "Song of the Dragon and Freedom".
If you want to better understand the storyline, complete the Archon quest True Moon.
How long does it take to complete?
In average, it takes about 25-30 minutes to complete the quest, and if you read the dialogues slowly, the time will increase to 1 hour.

Share moments of celebration with the inhabitants of the golden kingdom and receive a request for help in resurrecting an ancient Adeptus.
Head to Liyue Harbor
In the street of the harbor you will come across disciple Yaoyao and Zombie Qiqi, who are making lanterns. They will tell the legend of the Moon-Eating Toad, Zhanzhu. If you want to learn more about the story of Lu Weng's ancestor, have a look at the "As Drifting Wayside Dust" trailer.
Move to the southeastern part of the city and go to 'Third-Round Knockout'. Chef Xiangling, Spearwoman Hu Tao, exorcist Chongyun and Swordsman Xingqiu will share a photo of an unusual natural phenomenon taken by the possessed Lu Xiangxiang on Chiwang Terrace.
Use the teleporter on the mountain and fly to Yujing Terrace to hear what the situation is like from "Heaven's Will" Ningguang, "Jade Equilibrium" Keqing and Master Lan Yan.
Go to Bubu Pharmacy to look for Lu Xiangxiang, who is being treated by Doctor Baizhu. Since her condition leaves much to be desired, instead of talking to her, we'll have to head to the port.
Visit the exhibition
Near Ivanovich and Andrei, you'll find Manmu: she'll help you get to the exhibition and transport you to the ship. If you want to return to it during the mission or afterward, speak to her again.
After talking with the Geo Archon, Captain Beidou and singer Yun Jin, follow Paimon as she studies antiques. When she stops at a painting of a giant toad, a cutscene will trigger.
Next, accompany Zhongli to the exhibition and look at the ritual jade behind the huge screen. When the Traveler picks up the crescent moon insignia, they will be transported to another dimension.
Head towards the light in the distance
Run towards the small glowing circle until you meet angel Zibai, imprisoned in a dungeon. Then you'll be shown how the group of four reached the Chiwang Terrace, where the eclipse photo was taken.
At the end, Archon Zhongli will explain that Zibai is actually dead and may soon disappear completely when the false moon disintegrates. Three fragments of her soul were saved by goddess Istaroth, preserved in the form of the trapped blue-eyed Taiguang (Ziju), who fell asleep in The Chasm, Shuangling (Zizhi) and the freedom-loving Youjing (Ziqiao).
