In Genshin Impact, the Exalted Master of the Heretical Path weekly boss appears in Sumeru and is a stronger version of the previous Dottore fought in Nod-Krai. He is connected to Irminsul and with its help he can use the power of other enemies, for example, lord Xiuhcoatl, The Game before the Gates and Puppet Raiden.
In this guide, we'll detail the specifics of his moveset and tell you how to avoid attacks that copy other bosses' abilities. Rare materials dropped by the boss can be useful for leveling up talents of the characters related to the Hoarders' Region.
If you were looking for material dropped by another boss, use the guide to the Heretic of the False Moon or check out our lore article on Dottore.
Where to find and how to unlock the Binding Field of Universal Nirvana dungeon

The boss is located in one of the dungeons of Sumeru, difficulty I-V of the "Memories: A Deluded Thought." The dungeon is accessible after completing the entire quest chain "As All Falls to Emptiness".
If you haven't completed the quests, you can use the Quick Start function fron the Adventurer's Guide. Open the "Trounce Domains" tab and select "Binding Field of Universal Nirvana" to jump straight into battle.
Which Team to Use to Fight Dottore

The boss has no special resistances: each of them is equal to 10%. However, in combat, he uses a variety of area-of-effect attacks and powerful attacks copied from other enemies. If you can't kill him quickly or successfully dodge the attacks, it's recommended to protect your team and bring a strong shielder or healer.
He can also teleport if you get too far away from him. To prevent this, it's best to use a melee hero as your main damage dealer, avoiding archers.
Choosing Characters
Due to multiple area-of-effect attacks, the enemy is often difficult to approach and repositions quickly. Avoid heroes with long rotations, as they will have a harder time killing the Exalted Master of the Heretical Path, as you will have to frequently interrupt his ability casts. It's better to prioritize heroes with consistently high damage output in a short period of time.

Top Teams
Examples of effective teams for the battle:
| Character 1 | Character 2 | Character 3 | Character 4 | Features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Varka | Durin | Prune Venti | Nicole Bennett | Pyro team with Varka, which varies depending on the supports selected. The Master can attack almost constantly, so he doesn't rely on precise rotation. |
Mavuika | Furina | Xilonen | Citlali | A setup with Mavuika, who can both deal damage with her skill and deliver one huge hit with her ultimate. Furina will provide enough Hydro status, while Xilonen and Citlali will help build up the elemental burst. |
Zibai | Columbina | Linnea | Illuga Gorou | Lunar-Crystallize team with Zibai, supported by Columbina and Linnea. All the heroes have good damage, so there's no problem controlling enemy timing. |
Nefer | Lauma | Columbina | Nahida Baizhu | A strong team with Nefer, which has short rotations relying on her E and charged attacks. This allows you to dodge enemy attacks at any time without disrupting your rotation. If you lack survivability, replace Nahida with Baizhu. |
Columbina | Ineffa | Sucrose | The Lightkeeper can deal a lot of damage in a short period of time. Ineffa and the Hydro sub-DD can hit the boss even from afar, and the former will also protect against damage. | |
Skirk | Furina Yelan | Escoffier | Shenhe Citlali Dahlia | Even though the boss isn't susceptible to Frozen, Skirk can deal massive amounts of damage in a short period of time. Escoffier, in addition to buffs, will increase the group's survivability. If you use Citlali or Dahlia instead of Shenhe, you won't have to waste time dodging. |
Arlecchino Varesa Clorinde | Durin | Fischl | Nicole Chevreuse | An Overloaded team with a Pyro or Electro damage dealer and Hexerei Resonance. With proper play, Chevreuse's healing will be enough to keep the team survivable, but with Nicole, she's also a viable option. |
Neuvillette Arlecchino | Furina Columbina | Ineffa | Sucrose Xilonen | A group with Lunar-Charged, which is used from the pocket by Hydro sub-DD and Ineffa, providing support for the main DD. Sucrose can be used in the last slot, or, if the shield isn't enough, Xilonen can be added. The latter will also chip away at resistances. |
Budget teams
Teams of budget characters:
| Character 1 | Character 2 | Character 3 | Character 4 | Features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Lisa | Barbara | Dendro MC Collei | A Hyperbloom team with Lisa, where Aino and one of the Dendro sub-DDs create Buds, and she detonates them, causing damage. | |
Noelle | Xiangling | Kaeya | Kachina | A team with Noelle that triggers Melt or Vaporize from the pocket to increase overall damage. Kachina provides additional support and also wears the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City. |
Kaeya | Barbara | Noelle Chongyun | A Frozen team with Kaeya, who hits with his skill and ultimate. If Chongyun is available, he can replace Noelle for the captain's infusion. |
How to defeat the Exalted Master of the Heretical Path in Genshin Impact
The boss has a variety of area-of-effect attacks, including those copied from other powerful enemies. To defeat him, it's recommended to follow a few tips.
Don't get too far from him
The Master can teleport to the active character if they move too far away. He can also activate multiple long-range attacks, so keeping distance is a poor strategy.
Add a shielder into your team
A good healer and dodging will allow you to survive in battle, but a strong shield is a priority, as it will allow you to ignore incoming damage and get closer to the enemy, dealing damage in return.
Destroy the node on the side to remove the barrier
In the second phase, he creates a prison and an energy wall that pushes the active character away from him. If this isn't broken, Dottore will charge up a powerful attack that deals massive damage. Use your speed boost and try to reach one of the side nodes as quickly as possible. Hit it and remove the shield.
Remove the bar and crush the cage
After the wall is destroyed, the boss will continue casting his ability. Perform a series of attacks on him to remove the HP bar from the right side. If you do this before the ability ends, Dottore will become weakened and immobile for a short time.
Attacks and abilities
Before the battle, it's recommended to learn his full skill set. This will allow you to more effectively dodge and find openings for team rotation.
Electro waves
Teleports to the active hero and slams with his hand on the ground, spreading purple waves across a square area.
Electro explosion
Throws a cube filled with electricity that explodes in a small area upon landing.
Ice crystals
Creates an area covered in Cryo crystals. The attack always hits the character, so dodge to the side.
Sliding walls
Creates two energy walls that then collide with each other. To dodge this attack, simply dash through one of them.
Multiple shells
Materializes a wall behind himself, from which projectiles periodically fly. They are not homing, but fly in a straight trajectory, so simply run to the side.
Double throw
Releases two clusters of ice cubes that fly at the character.
Electro peaks
Creates rapidly moving electrical spikes from the ground that travel from him to your companion.
Circular Cryo Strike
Creates a circle on the ground that momentarily fills with ice crystals. The attack is delayed and can be repeated three times.
Horizontal waves
In the second half of the battle, Cryo and Pyro alternate between crescent-shaped attacks. These not only deal damage but also knock down enemies, so be sure to dodge them with dashes or shield yourself.
Red Cube Attack
Creates red waves several times that move towards the active hero and knock them down.
Strike of the Lord of Eroded Primal Fire
Spreads the wings and activates the Natlan boss's ability, which fires single, targeted projectiles.
Muso no Hitotachi
A strike copied from the Magatsu Mitake Narukami no Mikoto enemy. Raises the sword and then swiftly brings it down, dealing massive area damage.
Quadruple strike on a square area
Creates four square areas that gradually appear and explode after a moment.
Moving lasers
Summons four lasers that quickly move toward the center of the arena and then disperse. They can be dodged by dashing or jumping over.
Cage
Periodically during the second phase, he gets to the edge of the arena and blocks it with a barrier. First, destroy one of the nodes on the sides, then attack Dottore himself to prevent the cast.
The King's Sprint and The Queen's Encircling Attack
After the node is broken, the boss summons The Game Before the Gate weekly enemy's ability in defense. The king quickly moves in a straight line, while the queen creates blades that she uses to strike while spinning.
How much HP does the boss have?
At level 90, he has 3 HP. This lack of health is compensated by his high ATK of 561.
- Shouki no Kami - 2 780 000.
- The Knave - 2 782 522.
- Lord of Eroded Primal Fire - 3 524 527.
- Heretic of the False Moon - 7 791 060.
Achievements
During the battle you can get one achievement worth 5 Primogems:
Don't break the wall!
Condition: Evade the constraints of the barrier and dismantle the prison realm constructed by Dottore.
To get this achievement, you need to break the barrier node that appears when the cage is created with any attack. You have to avoid being hit by the energy wall itself, so try to stay to the side of the arena before this attack.
A separate guide explains in detail how to destroy the node for the achievement. "Don't break that wall!".

Please add to the drop guide that "Distorted Dry Branch" is now required for Odette's abilities!
In short, the only tactic that worked for me was to use a buffer who isn't a shielder or a healer (like Illuga) when one-shotting. You'll be able to resurrect him once, but the second time you'll have to finish off that scum without him.
When filling the circle, the number of status/hits plays a bigger role, not the damage.
Arli is in meltdown, doesn't have time to fill, and Arli is in overload, fills almost instantly.
Damn, I love your guides mainly because you always indicate who needs a boss drop, even if the info isn't updated, and right now there's none at all, and I need it for the table... Can you add it, or at least just answer if anyone knows, plz
Now everything is indicated in the guide.
I tried different teams, but Fleance was the easiest. I got it done in a second, but Arlecchino was sooooo sweaty.
