Coco

Coco is the main character of the Atelier of Witch Hats, who dreamed of becoming a mage since childhood. Having accidentally received a magical book and ink, she unknowingly uses forbidden magic, which results in her mother being bewitched. After these tragic events, the protagonist becomes Kifri's apprentice to find a way to correct this mistake. Coco is a very kind and positive girl, genuinely fond of magic, open to everything new, values ​​friendship, and, according to her mentor, has great potential.

Kifri

Kifri is a sorcerer who, at the beginning of the story, takes on Coco as his apprentice, hoping to reach the Witches in Wide-Brimmed Hats with her help. As a teacher, he treats all his charges with warmth and care, valuing their individuality and pushing them to self-improvement. Kifri is willing to protect those he cares about and also strives to overcome his own fears, such as his fear of water, for which he mastered the magic associated with it.

Agatha Arklaum

Agatha comes from the Arclaum family, members of which wield considerable influence in the wizarding world and serve as librarians at the Tower of Tomes. This background has left its mark on her personality and life views. Agatha takes the study of magic very seriously and suffers from the fact that her family doesn't take her seriously and sent her to study with Kifri. Initially, she didn't consider Coco an equal and could even hurt her with careless words.

Tethya

Tetia studies with Kifri alongside the main character and is the first person she meets at the studio. This cheerful and friendly girl welcomed Coco warmly and helped her get used to the unfamiliar environment. Among Kifri's students, Tetia acts as a liaison, responsible for maintaining a positive attitude. She also loves clouds and dreams of creating the perfect cloud-based magic.

Riche

Riche studies with Agatha, Coco, and Tetia. She is characterized by her phlegmatic, stubborn, individualistic, and somewhat childish nature. She masterfully draws tiny glyphs, specializes in crystal magic, and strives to preserve her unique sorcerous style. It is known that Riche has an older brother, Relifin, who greatly influenced her personality.

Higuin

Iguin is one of the most enigmatic characters in the Atelier of Sorcerer's Caps manga. His true age is unknown, and his face is always hidden behind a mask. He largely served as the catalyst for the story's plot, selling the protagonist a book of sorcery and encouraging her to use forbidden magic. Iguin is an extremely powerful mage, mastering a wide variety of spells, and clearly has long-term plans for Coco, connected to a certain prophecy.

Secondary Characters

Alayra

Alayra is a close friend of Kifri and Olrugio, a cheerful and charismatic woman who genuinely cares for all her comrades, their students, and their children. She appears rarely in the series and manga, but she always supports her friends and shows herself to be a kind and caring person. She is also willing to break the rules or even outright outlaw herself to protect her loved ones.

Nolnoa

Nolnoa owns the Star Sword shop, where he sells magical goods. It's where Kifri and his apprentices go to buy the necessary items for their magic. Nolnoa warmly greets customers and shows the girls how magical ink is made, and also helps Coco choose the right wand.

Tarta

Tarta is Nolnoa's grandson, who helps his grandfather at his shop, Star Sword. He suffers from the condition known as Silver Ripple, which causes him to perceive colors incorrectly, and therefore he was never trained in sorcery. Tarta is serious and determined beyond his years, gifted with magical abilities, and deeply worries that his illness prevents him from becoming a true mage.

Kustas

Kustas is a minor character in the anime "Atelier of Sorcerer's Caps," a wandering minstrel under the tutelage of Dagda.
