All Skill Trainers in Of Ash and Steel: Where to Find Them

В Of Ash and Steel There's no set character development path, so you can experiment with builds by learning from different mentors. They'll share their expertise in areas they excel in for a fee. It's not possible to unlock all skills right away—relationships with some mentors will improve after completing story or side quests.

Unexplored talents are marked with a gray lock and their names are not revealed, making it difficult to find the right master at first. This guide will show all the cartographer's development trees and the locations of the characters needed to unlock skills.

Where to find all skill trainers in Of Ash and Steel

Upon landing on the island, Tristan has yet to secure the support of important figures and is unfamiliar with the local rules. As he explores the lands, he will meet a diverse group of inhabitants who will share their expertise in specific fields. Some trainers will immediately offer to teach him skills, while others will require completing assignments or story quests to unlock the area with the desired NPC.

Requirements for unlocking the Creation skill tree

Training with local trainers isn't free, like everything else in Greyshaft. Depending on the value and level of a skill, the stat requirements and cost increase. We recommend leveling up talents gradually and evaluating their usefulness, as gold is hard to earn early in the campaign.

Creation Skills Teachers

This knowledge focuses on mining minerals and upgrading armor and swords. In the later stages of development, you'll learn to craft jewelry with magical properties and forge legendary weapons. Any of the instructors in this area will help you master the basic skills, while the rest will need to be unlocked throughout Greyshaft.

 Spawning (1)

Meet him in the hut in the northwest of the island and you will unlock the starting skills of each branch: Sword Sharpening level 1, Miner, and basic Armor Fortification.

Sawyer (2)

You'll meet him at the Parking Lot, which you'll visit before arriving in town, and unlock your first skills for upgrading weapons, swords, and ore mining.

Vin (3)

The blacksmith is located in the northeast of the Craftsmen's Quarter in Greyshaft. Learn Advanced and Expert Mastery and you'll be able to develop Master Blacksmithing skills to levels 1 and 2.

Volume (4)

Upon joining the Order of the Seven, the knight will share his knowledge of level 1 and 2 armor fortification. He can be found in the organization's fortress in the southeast of the city.

Cyril (5)

The Blacksmith lives in the Expedition camp near the bridge connecting the western and eastern peninsulas. From him, you'll unlock Sword Sharpening and Armor Fortification level 1, as well as the Miner skill.

Dior (6)

The artisan owns a shop in the River District in Greyshaft. He can help you learn Advanced and Expert Mastery, as well as develop the Jewelcrafting skill tree at levels I and II.

Vorbag ​​(7)

The blacksmith is located in Ivara Village, located in the southwest of the island. From him, you can learn all levels of Sword Sharpening, Armor Fortification, Ore Mining, and the Master Blacksmith branch.

Jesus (8)

The leader lives in a hut on the Free Farm west of the hunters' settlement. We'll expand the list of skills he'll help you master once we unlock full interaction with him.

Pinter (9)

The man has settled in the King's Brother tavern in Parking and will share his experience in Basic Mastery.

Firs (10)

Near the port in northern Greyshaft, you'll find a member of the Gravediggers' Guild. Upon joining, you can master Advanced and Expert Mastery, as well as Jewelcrafting at levels 1 and 2.

Korf (11)

He works in the Mines in the south of the island and unlocks the Miner talent when encountered. You won't be able to request guidance until Chapter 3 of the storyline.

Survival Skills Teachers

Skills are focused on greater interaction with the world and optimal resource utilization in the wild. This specialization unlocks martial arts for agility—wielding bows and rapiers. Learned skills do not apply to weapons in the Warfare section, so pay attention to their stats when leveling. Basic survival skills can be taught by any trainer, while others will need to be activated by specific NPCs.

Shade (1)

Lives in the center of the Suburbs and will help develop Skinning, Dagger Throwing, Spider, Lockpicking, and Pickpocketing.

Melt (2)

If you join the Order of the Seven, receive instruction from the knight at the Unification Fortress in southeast Greyshaft. He will unlock Ragged Wounds, Cunning Man, and all levels of Rapier Mastery.

August (3)

At the Mercenary's House northeast of the Pioneer Statue, the leader will teach you how to inflict Rending and Skinning. To gain the mentor's support, you'll need to join the Bounty Hunters' Guild.

Tibor (4)

The bartender is located in Greyshaft Hound, southeast of town, and unlocks Rip, Trickster, Dagger Throw, Spider, and Lockpicking.

Corodelius (5)

Northwest of the Cemetery, you'll find an alchemist who will introduce you to the skills: Cunning, Advanced and Master Survival, One with Nature, and Dagger Throw. However, he won't be ready to accept you as an apprentice until you reach Chapter 3.

Madjar (6)

Meet the leader in the Bandit Fort; training becomes available starting in Chapter 2. The instructor will help you master Advanced Survival, Death by a Thousand Cuts, all levels of Rapier Mastery, and a branch of techniques: Sand in the Eyes, Guard Strike, and Deadly Cut.

Flynn (7)

The man at the Hunter's Camp on the western peninsula will help you master ranged weapons and the additional moves Flawless Reflexes, Nimble Hands, and Power Shot. He will also activate the Rupture, Cunning, Skinning, and Rare Trophies abilities. Keep in mind that the marksman will only accept you as an apprentice if you give him skins for the "Hunter's Competition" quest.

Ivain (8)

In the Free Hunters' settlement in eastern Greyshaft, you'll meet a white-haired woman. She'll share her knowledge of the skill Oneness with Nature, but only accepts faction members as apprentices.

Amalticus (9)

Find him in the freemen's territory and learn Advanced and Master Survival and Death by a Thousand Cuts, provided you joined the organization.

Selma (10)

The Wild Huntress offers guildmates the opportunity to master all levels of Bow Mastery, Impeccable Reflexes, Nimble Hands, Power Shot, Rupture, Cunning, and Advanced Survival.

Leonardo (11)

The Smuggler will become a mentor to his accomplices and unlock Masterful Survival and all ranks of Rapier Mastery.

Jiri (12)

He's stationed near the Pioneer statue and will help you master the Ragged Wounds skill, the Cunning Man, and the Rapier Mastery skill tree. However, to do so, you'll need to join the Freebooters.

Zhavek (13)

Will be ready to become a teacher if you get to the Hunters' Camp through the quest "A mutual acquaintance." The man will teach you how to set traps and the skills Hunter's Mark, Lacerations, and Cunning Man.

Sacrum (14)

The Wanderer is located southwest of the Spawning Hut and will help you master Rip, Trickster, Skinning, Dagger Throw, and Lockpicking.

Shai (15)

Meet him at the Parking Lot on the way to town and master Lockpicking and Pickpocketing if you complete the quest successfully. "The dregs of society".

War Skills Teachers

Masters will guide you on the path of martial arts, where you'll learn combat strategies, increase your damage with buffs, and become familiar with various Strength-focused weapons. A wide selection of skills allows you to choose a comfortable build based on your personal preferences—you can challenge stronger opponents with generous rewards. Basic military training can be provided by any master, but more unique talents will require the help of qualified trainers.

You'll find a soldier at the Parking Lot on the way to Greyshaft. The warrior will share his experience in One-Handed Weapon Mastery and additional moves: Strong Kick, Flurry of Blows, Perfect Strike, and Achilles' Strike.

Gaan (2)

At the Mercenary House southeast of the city, a bounty hunter will help you master all levels of Two-Handed Weapon Mastery, Parry, and Perfect Dodge. He will also unlock the following skill tree: Shoulder Charge, Spinning Strike, Needle, and Battle Rage. You can become an apprentice after speaking with him during the quest. Beltran's Sword.

In the Order of the Seven's fortress, a young officer offers lessons in One-Handed Weapon Mastery and the special attacks Strong Kick, Hail of Blows, Perfect Strike, and Achilles' Strike.

The Pathfinder resides in a hut on a cliff near the Cemetery and will unlock the Crossbow: Novice, Soldier, and Master. He also conducts Masterful Military Training and activates Parry, Perfect Evasion, Fortitude, and Death Comes.

Horka (7)

You'll meet him at the Parking Lot, where you'll gain experience in Level 1 One-Handed Weapon Mastery, Parrying, and learn Shoulder Slam and Strong Kick.

Ivar (8)

In Ivara's Village, a man will become a mentor in the art of crossbow shooting: Novice, Soldier, Master, Power Shot, and Knockdown Shot. He will also teach you about Parrying and Perfect Dodge.

Godrank (9)

Upon joining the Order, the captain provides lessons in Masterful Military Training, Fortitude, and will unlock the Death Comes buff.

Kurt (10)

If you join the Free Hunters, the leader in the settlement will teach you Two-Handed Weapon Mastery, Parry, Perfect Dodge, Masterful Military Training, Fortitude, and the Death Comes skill. He will also unlock the skill tree for Shoulder Slam, Spinning Strike, Needle, and Battle Rage.

Boone (11)

At the Expedition camp, the merchant will tell you how to parry correctly and dodge perfectly.

Learning from trainers is an essential part of surviving in Greyshaft, allowing Tristan to challenge more challenging opponents and make efficient use of available resources while exploring the wilderness. Before choosing a development path, we recommend choosing your primary faction—the Wild Hunters or the Order of the Seven—to avoid difficulties leveling certain skills later.
