The core of an ancient civilization is a rare material in Pal world, needed for crafting buildings and equipment in the late stages of the game. This resource cannot be purchased: it is obtained through expeditions and high-level activities, found in separate chests, or crafted from artifacts.
Where to find Ancient Civilization Cores in Palworld
This resource can be obtained through both passive methods and dangerous combat activities. The main sources are camp expeditions, boss raids, exploring Oil Rigs, and refining endgame artifacts from the World Tree.
Palov Expedition Center
The easiest passive way to obtain relic material is to send your creatures on expeditions:
- Unlock the Palov Expedition Center and build it in one of your bases - the building opens at 22 level Technologies.
- Unlock the advanced stage - materials start to appear from fifth stage "Ice cave on a snowy mountain."
- Form a squad: choose the strongest Pals, observing the conditions for elements and vulnerabilities.
- Claim your loot: Wait until the expedition ends to claim your earned rewards.
When choosing a team, you don't have to assemble an expeditionary force at 100% strength. Rewards can be earned at a lower percentage.
Boss Raids
To farm the material, technology will be needed Altar for Summoning (33 lvl) and Boss Summoning PlatesSlab fragments can be obtained from expeditions or from chests in dungeons.
Instead of slabs you can use heavenly seals From the "Terraria Abode" dungeon on the island south of the Far Fishing Village. Item plans can drop from chests at the dungeon exit.
To spawn the boss, use the Summoning Plates or Celestial Seals on the Summoning Altar.
The strength of the monsters on the altar directly depends on the chosen slab or seal. A basic level 30 Bellanuar is also suitable for farming—it drops one to three cores.
Ancient Civilization Artifact Converter
The 1.0 release update added a new way to obtain materials in the late game: refining Ancient Civilization Artifacts. To do this, unlock the level 74 technology "Ancient Civilization Artifact Converter."
To make the device work, place the collected artifacts and holy water from the World Tree into it.
Artifacts of the ancient civilization drop in large quantities from the Pals in the World Tree area.
Oil platforms
There's a chance to find the material when opening large chests on oil platforms. Most of these are dangerous late-game activities, but there's also a chance to loot the coveted item when exploring a Poacher's Exploration Platform at level 30.
Sylvans and Dandylord
One Core is guaranteed to drop for defeating each of the two tower bosses in the World Tree.
Chests and junk in the World Tree
While exploring the World Tree, you'll encounter numerous chests. Search them, as well as piles of junk—they often contain resources.
Lake and sea fishing
Cores can be found as random rewards while fishing. However, this method relies heavily on luck and shouldn't be considered a reliable source of resources.
The best way to farm Ancient Civilization Cores
At the start, the easiest way to obtain Ancient Civilization Cores is through passive Pal expeditions—they don't require powerful equipment, but they're time-consuming. Gradually increase the difficulty of the expeditions to earn more rewards.
In the later stages of the game, the best solution is to regularly raid bosses with a leveled-up squad and recycle accumulated artifacts in a special converter.
