Ruan Mei in HSR represents the legendary icecharacter of the Path of Harmony. Takes a support position and offers buffs that apply to all allies. And although she is primarily in demand in break teams, she can be relevant in other compositions as well.
Given the main focus of the girl and the mechanics contained in her last "trace", it is important to pay attention to the break effect in the build, and then focus on the development of speed and defensive indicators. It is on these parameters that the selection of equipment and stats in relics is built.
The heroine is a strong representative of her path, demonstrating high efficiency in various combat modes as a support. She will not be the “perfect” choice in all situations, but with due investment and the right build, she will significantly boost any damage dealer.

Hero's story

Ruan Mei is a generous scientist and expert in biology. She is a member of Genius Society #XNUMX, where she collaborates with Herta, Screwllum , and Stephen Lloyd to create and develop the Simulated Universe. When not conducting research, she enjoys attending traditional theater performances, trying desserts, and doing embroidery.
She became acquainted with science as a child, as her mother was also a scientist. She grew up as a phlegmatic girl and often made mistakes, but her parents were fine with that. When she got older, she went on expeditions to the planets with her mother, and upon returning, she received a reward in the form of a cake. In her memories, this smell invariably reminded her of their travels.

When her parents died, she devoted herself entirely to science. Throwing herself into research, she spent days and nights in the laboratory and fell asleep only when she reached her limit. The girl stopped at nothing on the way to her goal and seemed to have forgotten about everything. Only once, looking at the night sky, did she notice the gaze of the Erudition Aeon, Nous, directed at her.
After contact with the Aeon, she left her home and began to live in solitude. She became more apathetic and went deeper into work, preferring to learn the fundamental nature of life in order to get closer to Nous again. It was for this reason that she decided to become a member of the Genius Society. There is not a shadow of emotion to be found on the girl’s silent face, only the word “Aeon” can touch her heart.

How Ruan Mei's skills work in HSR

The unit's abilities, as a representative of the Path of Harmony, are primarily aimed at strengthening allies. In particular, the scientist's skill and talent increase the damage dealt and the team's speed, as well as break effectiveness and and effect. At the same time, she can deal ice damage and delay the actions of opponents with her ultimate, which ensures greater survivability.
One of her features, in addition to the distribution of buffs, is a unique technique that allows you to more comfortably go through combat trials in special roguelike modes, such as ("Simulated" and "Divergent Universe"). Thanks to the status effect, allies will be able to ignore the innate vulnerabilities of enemies and receive an additional increase in break damage.
Such a set of useful skills opens up the possibility of using the heroine to clear content of any type and complexity. However, despite the fact that her arsenal also includes attacking mechanics, this is only additional functionality. For this reason, the girl does not replace the position of a secondary damage dealer, but acts as a full-fledged support.
Active skills
The skills that the character uses in combat include:
- technique — imposes a status that activates a skill at the beginning of the battle without spending skill points. At the same time, while the status is active, in the "Simulated" and "Divergent Universe" allies reduce the toughness of enemies and deal more break damage, and enemies receive additional damage from the scientist.
- basic attack - low ice damage that is inflicted on one target.
- skill - Grants a status that increases overall damage and effectiveness of breaking the vulnerabilities of all allies.
- ult — creates an area within which the break of all types of enemy resistance increases. In addition, allies' strikes activate an effect that prolongs the state of broken weakness and delays the action of targets. Monsters also receive additional damage.
Below is a detailed description of all skills with clarification of the operating principle of some mechanics. In addition, the order of leveling is indicated, where the highest priority skills in terms of resource investment are highlighted.
The technique Silken Serenade | Enhance
Using the technique grants the "Silken Serenade" status. At the start of the next battle, the skill is automatically activated without spending skill points. In addition, while the status is active, in the "Simulated" and "Divergent Universe", an attack from any team member is considered a blow to vulnerability and depletes the enemy's stamina.
After destroying enemy armor, break effect corresponding to the attacker's element occurs. Each existing blessing (up to a max of 20) additionally increases damage of this attack by 100% . After destroying the enemy's vulnerability, additional damage is inflicted on them equal to 100% of Ruan Mei's Ice Break damage.
Basic attack Threading Fragrance | Single attack
Deals Ice damage to the selected enemy equal to 50-100% of ATK.
Skill "String Sings Slow Swirls" | Support
Using the skill grants the Overtone status for 3 turns. The duration of this status is reduced by 1 turn at the start of each of Ruan Mei's turns. While this status is active, all allies' damage is increased by 16-32%, and their vulnerability break efficiency — on 50%.
Increasing the break efficiency allows you to quickly reduce the toughness of opponents (white bar above HP).
Superpower "Petals to Stream, Repose in Dream"
Creates a zone for 2 turns. Its duration is reduced by 1 turn at the start of each turn. While the zone is active, resistance break of all allies is increased by 15-25%. Attacks from team members inflict the Thanatoplum Rebloom status on the target. It is activated when the enemy attempts to restore their breached vulnerability.
The Thanatoplum Rebloom status prolongs the state of a broken vulnerability and delays the enemy's action by an amount equal to 20% of Ruan Mei's break effect plus 10%, and also deals break damage equal to 30-50% of the heroine's ice break. Enemies who have not restored their vulnerability cannot receive the status again.
Breaking resistance of all types allows you to ignore the enemy's resistance to a certain element. For example, if the enemy has 70% resistance to fire, under the zone this value will decrease and fire units will inflict more damage on this target.
Passive Skills
The passive skills includes a talent that is triggered by the girl's presence on the battlefield. It offers a speed boost and allows you to deal additional damage.
Talent "Somatotypical Helix" | Enhance
Increases the speed of all allies except your own by 8-10%. When team members break an enemy's vulnerability, deals damage to that target equal to 60-120% of your own ice break damage.
Leveling Order
Super Ability = Talent = Skill > Basic Attack
All skills except basic attack are useful for allies, so if possible, they should be leveled evenly. If resources are lacking, we recommend using the following sequence:
- Ultimate — allows you to ignore part of the enemy's resistance, thereby increasing damage to them, "pushes back" the actions of targets and prolongs break effect. The damage also depends on the leveling of the ult.
- Talent — Gives the team a bonus that increases speed. In addition, it allows the heroine to inflict additional damage.
- Skill - is also one of the main sources of buffs for teammates: increases all damage and break efficiency.
- Basic attack — used to restore skill points and energy. Since Normal Hit relies on Attack Power (a non-priority stat), it should be upgraded last.
Traces
Traces of Ruan Mei:
| Break effect +5,3% (lvl.1) | |||
| Inert Respiration (A2): Increases break effect of all allies by 20%. | Defense +5% (A2) | Break effect +5,3% (A3) | |
| Speed +2 (A3) | |||
| Days Wane, Thoughts Wax (A2): Recovers 5 energy at the start of your turn. | Break effect +8% (A4) | Defense +7,5% (A5) | |
| Break effect +8% (A5) | |||
| Candle Lights on Still Waters (A6): For every 10% over 120% of her own break effect, the skill additionally increases allies' damage by 6% (max. — 36%). | Speed +3 (A6) | Defense +10% (lvl.75) | Break effect +10,7% (lvl 80) |
Final increase in stats:
- break effect +37,3%;
- defense +22,5%;
- speed +5
Eidolons

All the heroine's eidolons are:
| E1 | After using the ultimate, while the zone exists, allies ignore 20% of enemy defense. |
| E2 | Allies' attack power increases by 40% when they attack enemies with a broken vulnerability. |
| E3 |
|
| E4 | When an enemy's vulnerability is broken, Ruan Mei's break effect is increased by 100% for 3 turns. |
| E5 |
|
| E16 | Increases the duration of the Superpower zone by 1 turn. The talent's ice break damage multiplier increases by 200%. |
Best eidolons of Ruan Mei are E1, E2 and E6:
- First eidolon lowers the defense of enemies, increasing the damage done by allies while the zone is active (superpower). This is an indirect but noticeable increase in DPS, as defense cut is one of the highest damage multipliers in the game.
- Second eidolon increases attack power of all team members (by 40%) when they attack an enemy with a broken vulnerability. This is a pretty strong buff if the damage dealer's skills depend on attack and the requirement is met.
- Sixth Eidolon Extends the duration of the ult, causing the buffs of the zone to last as long as the skill. In addition, the constant additionally increases the character's damage due to the increase in the multiplier of her ice break.
F2P players are recommended to stop at E1. If you actively use a break team, you can also unlock E2.
How to Play Ruan Mei

The unit's gameplay involves applying buffs to allies. With her skill, she increases all damage and break efficiency, and with her talent, passively increases speed. Moreover, this applies to the entire team. The superpower prolongs the state of break and allows you to partially ignore the elemental resistance of enemies.
The duration of the skill buffs is 3 turns, which makes it possible to reach a positive consumption of action points. The girl brings the team "in the plus" due to the fact that she generates additional skill points using the basic attack, while the current buffs exist.
As a bonus, the heroine is extremely convenient for completing the "Simulated" and "Divergent Universe". Thanks to the technique, attacks from allies are always considered a blow to vulnerability and deplete the enemy's stamina, and blessings additionally increase break damage of these attacks.
Follow this order to build your Ruan Mei rotation:
- Before the battle, use the technique to get the "Silken Serenade" status and automatically activate the skill without spending points. In addition, you can use the techniques of other heroes.
- When it's the scientist's turn, use a basic attack if the skill bonus is still active. This will generate an action point and restore some energy.
- If the status effect ends, use the skill again to increase damage and break efficiency of all allies again for 3 turns.
- Until you have enough energy for your ult, continue alternating between the skill and normal attacks using the following pattern: skill > base attack > base. attack.
- Activate the ultimate to create a zone. It will increase resistance break of all types and apply the Thanatoplum Rebloom status. This status will prolong the state of the broken vulnerability and delay the actions of targets. Ideally, the ultimate should be used every 3 turns.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Having understood the principle of how abilities work, you can draw conclusions about the strengths and weaknesses of the unit.
| Strengths | Weaknesses |
| Buffs Team DPS skill, offering a boost to all damage dealt. It's a versatile buff that's suitable for any DPS hero. In addition, it increases do things quickly talent. | Expensive Superpower — 130 energy. The "minus" is partially compensated by the second trace and a sufficient speed indicator, but an ER link rope will also be required. |
| Perfect support for break teams: Increases the effectiveness and effect of break, causing the white bar to deplete faster and dealing more damage/prolonging statuses. | Buffs "burn out" during the turn. This makes it easier to play with fast characters, but it complicates the selection of speed. In particular, it is undesirable to overtake allies too much or, conversely, to take action too slowly. |
| Doesn't spend a lot of action pointsGiven the duration of the skill buff, you can use a rotation that allows you to generate an additional skill point (skill > basic attack > basic attack). | Team oriented with two damage dealers, since buffs apply to all party members. In the case of one DD, more competitors appear among representatives of the Path of Harmony. |
| Passively deals damage, when one of the allies destroys the enemy's weakness or when the enemy tries to restore his vulnerability (talent and superpower mechanics). | Limited capabilities as a sub-DD without opening the fourth and sixth eidolons. The cones of the Path of Harmony do not correct the situation either, since they are primarily aimed at support. |
| Suitable for F2PRuan Mei doesn't need Eidolons to reach her potential as a support, and she can also use an Epic Cone, which is not much inferior to the Signature. | Low base health makes the character vulnerable. Being a support, it is important for her to stay in action, so it is necessary to look for HP and resistance to effects in sub-stats, and level up traces for defense. |
| Great support for completing the "Simulated" and "Divergent Universe". The technique allows any heroes to break the enemy's vulnerability at the beginning of the battle. Moreover, each blessing additionally increases the damage. | The extended vulnerability and delayed actions don't work well with some heroes' mechanics, especially when fighting a strong opponent. For example, they don't work with the talent of Himeko (Erudition: Fire). |
| Extends the state of reduced toughness and delays the enemy's action. Together with imaginary heroes, can create conditions in which the enemy will be unable to attack for a cycle. | |
| In addition to the main buffs to reduce the toughness of enemies, increases resistance break for all types of elements. This is a fairly rare buff that allows you to deal more damage to targets that have the element of your allies. |
Best Ruan Mei Builds in Honkai: Star Rail

The Scholar of the Genius Society belongs to the Path of Harmony and acts as a support-buffer. Her mechanics are focused on providing allies with an advantage in combat, helping them deal more damage while debuffing opponents. When composing a Ruan Mei build in HSR, we recommend paying attention to the following characteristics:
- Break effect — Not only your own DPS depends on this indicator, but also the percentage of damage increase from the trace.
- Speed — Allows you to quickly accumulate energy for the smooth operation of your ult and create skill points for your team.
- Energy recharge — The super ability costs 130 energy and is also one of the main sources of buffs.
- HP, defense и Effect RES — Like most supports, need more survivability due to low base defensive stats.
It's also worth noting attack power, which affects the damage of the basic attack. Since the girl uses a normal hit to generate Action Points anyway, and her mechanics are related to break, attack power in lower stats will not hurt.
Recommended Stats
Stats that are recommended to be upgraded in relics:
| Head | HP (fixed) |
| Hands | Attack Power (fixed) |
| Body | HP > defense |
| Boots | Speed |
| Planar Sphere | HP > defense |
| Link Rope | Energy Recovery > Break Effect |
Secondary stats:
Break Effect (up to 180%) > Speed > HP% = Defense > Effect Resistance > Attack Power
Optimal final values of unit stats:
- Break effect: 180% (in combat) and 160% (before combat). Reaching this value activates the max buff from the trace, which increases the damage of allies.
- Speed: 121/134/142+. It is desirable that the indicator be higher than that of damage dealers, or on par with them.
- Energy recharge: 119,4% and more
- HP (health): 3-700 and more.
- DEF: 1 and more.
- Effect RES: 30%+ if equipped with the Broken Keel.
One of the options to get 180% break effect:
- Full trace upgrade: 57,3%.
- Light cone Memories of the Past S5: 56% /(or) the Signature Cone "Past Self in Mirror": 60%.
- Relics Thief of Shooting Meteor: 32%.
- Sub-stats: 34,7-30,7% /(or) the planar ornaments Talia: Kingdom of Banditry: 36%.
Light Cone Rating

Signature cone of Ruan Mei - “Past Self in Mirror”
The weapon you're going to equip has to belong to the Path of Harmony, so that the passive effect works, and also gives: break effect, energy recovery, speed and buffs for the team. The table shows the light cones that will best suit the character.
| Cone | Effect | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 48-1058 ATK 24-529 DEF 24-529 | Break effect is increased by 60-100%. After the owner uses an ultimate, the damage done by all allies is increased by 24-40% for 3 turns. If break effect becomes greater than or equal to 150%, the unit regains 1 skill point. At the beginning of each wave it is immediately restored 10-20 energy of all allies. The effect does not stack with similar ones. | Ruan Mei's signature weapon, which is aimed at increasing her break effect, damage to allies, restoration of energy and skill points. To utilize all the bonuses, the heroine must use an ultimate every 3 turns, and also have at least 150% break effect to receive action points, which is easy to achieve thanks to the passive effect of the cone itself. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP: 43-952 Attack Power: 19-423 Defense: 18-396 | Increases break special effect by 28-56%. When the owner attacks, heals himself 4-8 energy. This effect can only be triggered once per turn. | The best epic cone, as it increases break effect and restores energy, allowing you to ult every 3 turns at max superimposition. Considering that the ultimate is important to use as often as possible to apply buffs, and break effect is the main stat, the weapon shows itself very well. Its bonus can be activated by a basic attack, talent and ult. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐ HP: 38-846 ATK 14-317 DEF 12-264 | After the owner makes an attack or takes damage, restore 4-8 energy. This effect can only be activated once per turn. | Even though it is a 3-star cone, its advantage is that it allows the scientist to use her superpower much more often due to the energy recharge. In addition, the “card” can be easily obtained in any banner. To trigger the passive effect, it is enough to deal damage or simply be under enemy attack. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 43-953 ATK 28-635 DEF 21-463 | The bearer of the light cone receives 1 lvl of Cantillation every time any ally performs an attack. Every level “Cantillation” increases the energy recovery rate of a hero equipped with a weapon “card” by 3-5% — this effect can stack up to 5 times. When the wielder uses an ultimate, the Cantillation effect is replaced with the Cadenza condition. "Cadenza" increases the attack power of the wearer character by 48-96%, and the damage dealt by allies is reduced by 24-40%. The duration of the effect is 1 turn. | The cone will help to gain energy for the ultimate if the group consists of frequently attacking characters, and will increase the damage of allies. However, the boost will not always last, and there is no need for attack power. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP: 43-952 ATK 19-423 DEF 18-396 | When the wielder uses an ultimate, all allied actions advance by 16-24%. | A weapon with a bonus that affects the entire team. Advances the actions of allies when the heroine activates her ultimate. This gives an advantage in combat due to the fact that the team will be able to use abilities before the enemies. Particularly useful in the "Forgotten Hall", where it is important to kill monsters in minimum cycles. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP: 52-1164 ATK 24-529 DEF 21-463 | Increases energy recovery by 10-18% and restores 1 skill point after using an ultimate. This effect can be used 1 time per 2 activations of the ult. When the owner uses a skill, the damage of the ally taking the next action is increased by 30-50% for 1 turn. | A good option that gives energy recovery and a skill point after using an ultimate. Additionally, it boosts the ally who takes action immediately after the scientist. With the right balance of speed, when it is slightly higher than that of the damage dealer, you can effectively implement the bonus. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP: 43-952 ATK 21-330 DEF 15-476 | At the start of combat or before the owner takes an action, one of the effects will be randomly activated: all allies will have their attack power increased by 10-20%, crit. damage by 12-24% or energy recovery by 6-12%. The selected effect will replace the previous one and will not be the same as last time. The bonus disappears after the death of the owner. Effects of this type do not stack. | A weapon from the Battle Pass. Randomly applies buffs to allies: increases attack power, critical damage, or energy recovery. All of the listed bonuses, one way or another, complement the girl's existing list of buffs well, so the light cone is suitable for additional support of the team. |
In addition, the unit can use the following weapons:
- Dreamville Adventure (epic) - increases damage depending on what skill the heroine used. Accordingly, it is necessary to think through the rotation so that the main DD gets a boost for his main skill.
- Planetary Rendezvous (epic) - Only works in combination with heroes who have an ice element. Otherwise, the cone is not recommended, as it will not be able to offer any buffs.
- "Past and Future" (epic) - buffs one partner, but offers nothing else. However, to use the only bonus, you will need to calibrate the speed so that the damage dealer always follows the scientist.
What relics and ornaments are needed
Ruan Mei's relics, like weapons, should be aimed at increasing her main stats, which include: break effect, energy recovery and speed. The following are sets and combinations of sets that can be effectively used on heroin.
Cavern relics
| Set | Effect | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
![]() | 2 parts: Increases break effect by 16%. 4 parts: Using the owner's super ability increases the pierce effect of all allies by 30% for 2 turns. This effect cannot be stacked. | An excellent set that will make it easier to gain the maximum value of break effect and will additionally increase this characteristic for the team. The heroine actively uses her ultimate within the battle, due to which she stably activates the gain from the passive bonus. |
![]() | 2 parts: Increases speed by 6%. 4 parts: Increases the speed of all allies by 12% when the owner uses an ultimate on an ally, for 1 turn. The effect does not stack. | A support set that focuses on increasing speed. Useful for both Ruan Mei herself and the team, as the buff is shared with all allies. You will need to use your ultimate to activate the passive effect. |
![]() | 2 Piece: Increases break effect by 16%. 4 Piece: Additionally increases break effect by 16%. Restores 3 energy after breaking through an enemy vulnerability. | Sets that increase the break effect to 32% and restore energy. Considering the need for energy and the fact that the main mechanics are tied to break, the effectiveness of which the scientist also improves, "Thief" will suit her perfectly. |
![]() ![]() Messenger Traversing Hackerspace | 2 Piece: Increases break effect by 16%. 2 parts: Increases speed by 6%. | Optimal combination with break effect and speed - everything that Ruan Mei needs. It will allow you to get the missing characteristics or further increase their values to optimal ones. |
![]() ![]() | 2 Piece: Increases break effect by 16%. 2 parts: Increases HP by 12%. | If you have enough speed, but have problems with survivability, you can equip the “Long-living Apprentice”. If necessary, it makes sense to consider alternative relics: Knight of Purity Palace (defense) or "Guard of Wuthering Snow" (reduced damage received). |
Planar ornaments
| Set | Effect | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
![]() | 2 parts: Increases energy recovery rate by 5%. If the owner's speed is at least 120, at the beginning of the battle the action immediately advances by 40%. | Great ornaments with energy recovery. With 120 speed, it advances the action at the start of the battle. This allows you to apply a buff with the skill before allies start moving, speeds up the rotation and allows you to activate the ultimate much earlier. |
| 2 parts: Increases status resistance by 10%. If the wearer's status resistance is greater than or equal to 30%, the crit. All allies' damage is increased by 10%. | A set that improves survivability by increasing resistance to effects. Provided that this characteristic reaches a value of 30%, it buffs the team's critical damage. The difficulty is that the scientist does not have Effect RES in her traces or skills, which is why 20% will have to be gained in relics. | |
![]() | 2 Piece: Increases HP by 12%. When speed reaches 120 or higher, all allies receive an 8% attack power bonus. | Universal support set. Makes the character less vulnerable due to the increase in health. At the same time, it adds to the arsenal of buffs an increase in the attack power of all allies, if your own speed is not lower than 120. With the help of boots, you can already get the required amount of this stat. |
![]() | 2 parts: Increases energy recovery rate by 5%. Increases damage dealt by allies of the same type as the owner by 10%. | Planar ornaments set for energy restoration. Situational, but if the passive requirement is met, it brings a lot of benefit. To get the bonus, it is necessary that the team has a main DD/sub DD of the ice element. |
| 2 parts: Increases energy recovery speed by 5%. If the owner is not in first place in the team, the attack power of the character in first place increases by 12%. | A more versatile option with energy recovery, as it combines not only with ice characters, but also with other elements. To increase the attack power of the main DD, it is enough to put him first in the team, and place Ruan Mei in the remaining free slot. | |
![]() | 2 parts: Increases break effect by 16%. If the owner's speed is greater than or equal to 145, then his break effect increases by an additional 20%. | Recommended only if you can't get 180% break effect. A set that increases break effect. On the one hand, it is useful due to the bonus to one of the most important stats. On the other hand, the excess of this parameter increases only the character's damage, and to get the max. bonus, you need 145 speed, which is quite a lot and is not suitable for every build. |

Which characters are suitable?
Characters that benefit the most from an alliance with the scientist, as they are tied to the toughness reduction mechanic:
| Character | Damage Path and Type | Features |
|---|---|---|
![]() | ![]() ![]() | A strong representative of the Destruction path, playing from super-break damage. In the enhanced stance, the girl gets a personal increase in break efficiency, and in cooperation with the scientist, she can double this indicator and better destroy enemy shields. |
![]() | ![]() ![]() | Xueyi will benefit from the increased break effect as she converts it into bonus damage. In addition, Ruan Mei provides an increase in all damage, speed and break efficiency. The only problem is the prolongation of the break state and the delay of the action, which can slow down the bonus attack. |
![]() | ![]() ![]() | A solo-target damage dealer who deals massive amounts of damage with break. The Genius Society Scientist is one of his best supports due to the increased break effect and efficiency, overall damage, and speed. It is with her in the team that Boothill is able to demonstrate the highest results. |
![]() ![]() | Plays from break and deals massive damage, constantly depleting toughness with an enhanced basic attack. Ruan Mei provides many useful buffs to the heroine. However, it is worth considering that during the ultimate, she prolongs the state of a broken vulnerability, which partly negatively affects the set of charges of Rappa's talent. However, this is not so critical, since it is largely compensated by enhancements. | |
![]() ![]() | An excellent representative of the Nihility for teams focused on depleting enemy toughness. Can play well in combination with the scientist, as it additionally increases the break effect, allows you to ignore the vulnerabilities of opponents and, in addition, cuts off defense. Together, the girls are able to maximize the damage dealer's potential. | |
![]() | ![]() ![]() | The main feature of Constance, in addition to the classic increases to EP, is the skill zone — while it's active, the durability reduction on unpierced enemies is converted into super-penetration. This gives the team more flexibility in the endgame. |
![]() | ![]() ![]() | One of the best teammates, as it spreads the increase to the break effect to the whole team. The ultimate buffs the damage dealt to enemies with a broken vulnerability, and is also a low-cost support in terms of skill points. |
![]() | ![]() ![]() | A healer who simultaneously functions as a secondary damage dealer and needs a break effect. This characteristic affects both damage and the percentage of outgoing healing, which means that it largely depends on how well the character can realize themselves in battle. |
![]() | ![]() ![]() | A healer-debuffer with a favorable debuff to increase the damage received by opponents from break. In addition, it is built with an emphasis on break effect, and from the traces he receives an additional increase in the effectiveness of break. |
Despite the general focus, the heroine's buffs are quite universal and can be beneficial to the following damage dealers:
| 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|

Ruan Mei can also be combined with any of the Path of Harmony, Nihility, Abundance, and Preservation supports, even if they are not related to break. However, the table primarily considers damage dealers, since they are the ones who prioritize support and form the basis of the group selection.
Best team samples
The scientist most effectively realizes her abilities in break teams:
| Character 1 | Character 2 | Character 3 | Character 4 | Features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | A powerful squad with a piercing mechanic, effective against bosses and elite monsters. With the support of Dahlia/Fuga and Ruan Mei, damage dealers can reach their full potential and easily defeat any opponent. One of Harmony's supports can wear "Watchmaker, Master of Dream Machinations"In the Firefly group, it's worth paying attention to the decorations Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern. Lingsha is also here for a reason - in addition to healing, she increases break damage. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | A F2P team variant consisting of free units. Xueyi takes a key position, dealing damage to opponents. The MC is a great budget alternative to Fugue. In turn, the scientist will provide buffs that will significantly boost Xueyi, as she especially values bonuses to reduce toughness. Gallagher is perfect for the role of a healer and additionally increases break damage. |
Alternative teams where the heroine acts as a universal support:
| Character 1 | Character 2 | Character 3 | Character 4 | Features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() ![]() | ![]() | ![]() ![]() ![]() | A team with Castorice, who summons her memosprite and uses it to deal damage to an area. For support, you can use, for example, the Ice Trailblazer, since he boosts such teams, and Ruan Mei will be a great addition due to universal buffs. In addition, it is important to add a strong healer, since Castorice spends HP of all partners. | |
![]() | ![]() ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | A team with The Herta that needs another Erudition character, as they significantly boost not only her but the rest of the team. Anaxa or Jade are great for this role. A buffer/debuffer that spreads beneficial effects or weakens enemies, like Ruan Mei, is also an optimal addition. It is also worth noting that the legendary Herta values allies who can attack frequently and thus accumulate stacks of Interpretation, which means that similar units can be considered for the remaining support positions. For example, Lingsha not only heals well, but also actively deals damage with a bonus attack. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Like Castorice, Aglaea specializes in managing the memosprite. The girl summons the Seamstress, together with whom she inflicts significant damage to opponents. Sunday will be the most optimal support for her, providing important buffs: energy recovery, action promotion, increased critical indicators, etc. At the same time, the scientist will complement the existing bonuses and further boost Aglaea. |
![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | A team with Mydei and Blade as hyper-carries. The characters play from HP, which is why they highly value buffs that directly increase damage. The Scientist fully meets this condition, as do other supports that offer useful bonuses. At the same time, the group must have a well-leveled healer who can prevent health from falling too low, — Hyacine would be perfect, offering additional health benefits. |
![]() ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | Bonus attack team with the main damage dealers who are aimed at destroying single large opponents. Topaz is a secondary DD who increases the DPS of bonus attacks and deals good damage with the help of Numby the piggy. Ruan Mei increases the damage of all allies, while Aventurine applies shields. |
![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() | ![]() | ![]() | An alternative to the previous build, but with characters that deal good damage, including to multiple enemies. The core of the group is Jing Yuan, Yunli, Clara. Robin is a great support for this type of team. However, Tribbie, who deals AoE damage and offers mass buffs, is also suitable instead. Ruan Mei increases all damage of allies, speed and efficiency of break. Lingsha is engaged in healing. |
![]() | ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() | ![]() ![]() | A team that plays from periodic damage. It is led by Kafka, who applies the Shock status and instantly activates all applied DoT effects. You can consider Black Swan, Sampo or Guinaifen as a pair for her. Ruan Mei increases the DPS of allies, their effectiveness/break effect and speed. Huohuo heals, restores energy and buffs attack power, but can be replaced with Aventurine. |
![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() | ![]() ![]() | A build for completing "Pure Fiction", where damage dealers deal stable damage to all enemies on the battlefield. The main attacking hero is, for example, Argenti or Himeko, who is a standard hero. In turn, they are complemented by secondary DDs of Erudition or buffer Tribbie, who is also capable of dealing damage in an area. Since each character in the group is capable of dealing damage, the mass bonuses of the scientist become especially beneficial here. |
![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() | ![]() | ![]() ![]() | A team with representatives of the Path of the Hunt in the form of Seele, Yanqing, and Sushan. Receiving multi-faceted support from the characters of Harmony, the units are able to cope well with bosses and elite monsters. In particular, the supports will increase their mobility and damage inflicted. |
![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() | ![]() | ![]() ![]() | A team with Destruction characters that can deal damage to one or more targets. In the case of the Imbibitor, it is recommended to use Hanya, as he consumes quite a lot of skill points, and the heroine can restore them. In other cases, supports are distributed depending on the situation on the battlefield. For example, Tingyun is beneficial when there is a lack of energy. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() ![]() | A group for Acheron E0. Thanks to the slows from Welt and the extended state of the broken vulnerability from Ruan Mei, the team can cope without a healer/shielder, which means using both the heroes of Nihility and Harmony. This build is difficult to implement, but can be effective with the right rotation. If the damage dealer has E2, a healer is placed instead of one of the heroes of the Nihility. For example, Gallagher not only heals, but also applies debuffs. However, if Ruan Mei has at least the first eidolon, she can be a support even for Acheron E0, partly compensating for her lack of a full buff from the trace. |
![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() | ![]() | ![]() ![]() | Full F7P team. Dan Heng or March XNUMX of the Path of the Hunt are effective against single targets, and Qingque is good at dealing with groups of enemies. Asta and the Imaginary Trailblazer spread buffs with Ruan Mei. Lynx and Natasha focus on healing allies if their HP is low. |
Is it worth pulling for Ruan Mei?

Ruan Mei is a representative of the Path of Harmony, whose abilities are focused on providing allies with various buffs. The scientist from the Genius Society offers an increase to all damage, speed, and break efficiency, making her one of the best supports for dual-DPS team compositions.
The uniqueness of the heroine lies in the fact that she specializes in break effect. In addition to accelerating the process of destruction of enemy shields, she prolongs this state and increases the break of elemental resistance. In addition, she is a useful support in roguelike modes due to additional bonuses. Does not require eidolons and can wield an epic cone, which is almost as good as the signature.
Among the main disadvantages of Ruan Mei, one should highlight the high cost of the ultimate and the dependence of buffs on one’s own moves. While this allows for great synergies with fast characters, it also forces you to balance your speed so that the buffs last enough turns to still gain energy/generate skill points in a timely manner.
Which is better: signature or E1
The first eidolon is a priority choice in terms of increasing the team's DPS. Despite the fact that the signature "card" contains pleasant bonuses, there is an equally worthy alternative, which is almost as good at high overlaps ("Memories of the Past"). At the same time, EXNUMX offers a decrease in enemy defense, which is one of the strongest options for increasing damage. In addition, it will be in demand in absolutely any composition.
The "Past Self in Mirror" light cone can be selected if you have no "Memories of the Past" or this weapon is presented only in a single copy, respectively, creates weak competition. In this case, the benefit of the signature begins to increase mainly due to the fact that the rotation and the process of forming the build become more comfortable.
We hope we helped you put together the best build for Ruan Mei and understand which teams are best for her in Honkai: Star Rail.
